No reason not to use it, catch everything you see and harvest the beans and you should be able to unlock everything. The features are pretty useful and comfy

Nothing that can be done there is that great, but it can be done while you aren't playing, which is sort of it's value add.
I generally have an expedition always ongoing to collect treasures.

The stones you can get are pretty good.
