Let's talk about times we've failed to acquire, lost, or generally missed out on shinies.

When I was around 8, I encountered a shiny Seaking in FireRed in the Safari Zone. It broke out of the ball and ran away, and to this day I have a great dislike of Goldeen.

In my early teens I replayed FireRed and encountered a shiny Articuno. I didn't have the Master Ball with me for whatever reason and ended up making it faint. I just sat there for what felt like hours soft resetting in disbelief. Ever since then I've saved the Master Ball for potential shiny legendaries. I have no idea what the hell to do with it in Moon right now.

At one point I had two shiny Deoxys and a shiny Mew. I have no idea what happened to them, but I think I traded the Mew for my shiny Charizard because I didn't think I'd ever use it. I was a kid then, didn't put too much thought into things.

A friend gave me a shiny Celebi and two shiny Porygon-Z. They turned out to be hacked and I can't send them past Gen V.

A few months ago the Global Link had a competition where they gave a shiny Mewtwo to everyone that participated, but I missed it.

Just copy and paste one of the patched code.bins into SD:/luma/code_sections
Hold select when booting Luma to open up the config menu, turn on "Enable region/language emu. and ext. .code" and press start
>HBL (New 3DS only, otherwise use Luma)
Extract the patched code.bins and rename them to 00175E00.code for Moon and 00164800.code for Sun.
Place it in SD:/hans/
Start up the homebrew menu and open HANS, open Pokemon through it.
Finally, use the in-game QR scanner and you're golden.
