Why the hell does this have to be so fucking tedious every single gen? Okay, I don't want to waste BP on items I can also find in the wild, that should be a fair enough mindset for a player to have. And okay a lot of these held items are rare, and you make an ability that allows them to be less rare (Compound Eyes) and an ability that allows you to check if a Pokemon you encounter has an item (Frisk) and a bunch of moves that allow you to swap/steal items (Thief etc).

SO WHY THE HELL DOES IT STILL TAKE AGES TO DO THIS I'M SITTING HERE WITH A BUTTERFREE AND ALOLAN EXEGGUTOR AND I'M LUCKY IF I GET AT LEAST ONE ITEM EVERY HOUR

And you know what's the worst part? In Gen III and IV, Compound Eyes just straight up raises the chance of a mon holding the item by 50% (so 5% becomes 55%, 20% becomes 70%, 50% becomes 100%). In Gen V, they fucking change this so instead it raises to specific increments (5% to 20%, 20% to 50%, 50% to 60%).

Guess it's just another reason to fuck Unova

how do I use poke bank for the gen 1 VC games? before people get inevitably mad, I've searched other parts of the Internet before this. it's remarkable how many articles about pokemon features are written towards an audience who would never use the function. they're all vague, cursory, and overall uninformative.

I'm assuming I have to meet Bill perhaps? I'm at cerulean, trying to transfer bulbasaur and charmander over. and yes, the mons are in my PC. pokebank has yet to recognize pokemon yellow when I boot it up
