I've never played a Pokemon game nor watched any series. The only thing I know is there's a guy called Ash and his pokemon is Pikachu.
After seeing this qt, I want to get into the series. Which games should I play? Also, should I watch the series dubbed or subbed, since old stuff like DBZ and Yugioh was better dubbed.

Back when XY was new, one of my friends wanted me to trade him a berry, but I was in the middle of Wulfric's gym, and I didn't want to go back to back to my PC, so I just put the berry on my Tyrantrum. I was online in the PSS and just happened to get a trade request at the same time. I thought it was my friend so I sent him my Tyrantrum, and a couple of minutes later, my friend asked "uh, are we gonna trade?" Then I realized that I just gave away my Tyrantrum to some random snot-nosed Japanese kid and he couldn't be negotiated with to get it back. Felt bad.

Actual discussion topic, at what point do attacks with absurdly high base power start to make up for low offensive stats? For example, if I give my Sylvally a normal gem and teach it explosion, would I even need to bother with setup beforehand in order for it to OHKO anything not immune?
