But he was misguided and then Lysandre lied to him in order to make him unwittingly work for Team Flare, taking advantage of his desire to become stronger, but his bond with Charizard and the love of a girl made him overcome his darkness, and then he became the League Champion, renounced Lysandre and fought against him to protect his friends and Kalos, and together with Charizard, Zygarde, and other minor characters, he saved the world from destruction. He now travels the world, trying to find his own path to power, along with his Charizard and the girl.

tl;dr He was the true MC of XY and a walking proof that, when it tries, the anime can create characters that are a thousand times better than the loser and his yellow rat.
