Why do people use Baton Pass without any stat boosts? What's the difference between using Baton Pass and just switching out?

It's good on Pyukumuku since it allows safe switch in. Even better it you Psyche Up boosts first, but doing it at +0 is still very useful.

Is it me or are those games much harder than usual Pokémon games?
Prior playing Heartgold I had played FireRed and Platinum and those two were pretty normal difficulty-wise, but here with Heartgold despite battling with everyone as I always do and not skipping anything the average level of my team is mediocre at best.
When I got to the Elite Four all my Pokémons (team of 6) were only lvl 37. I managed to beat Lance with my Gyarados using Avalanche (which all crit'd) and because his Thunders missed, but it was really by pure luck, had his Dragonites used Thunderbolt instead I wouldn't have passed him and would have probably been forced to level up my team 5 to 10 more level.
Now I arrived in Kanto but I haven't beaten a badge yet. I don't have ground type in my team so the thunder badge is just a joke. Tried the psychic one but I'd just get everything killed in one hit by Psychic. I realize my post might sound ridiculous since Pokémon games are not heard per se and I just need to level up, but here is the problem, even wild Pokémons in Kanto are freaking level 25 or something, I feel like the experience curve is sort of messed up. When I play Pokémon games I never "try hard" either, I play casually and usually make up a team of Pokémons I don't always play for the fun of it, so I sometimes end up leveling somewhat weaker ones thinking it'll be fine anyway.

GSC and HGSS do have fucked up level curve and are the easiest games in the series. Beginning of Kanto and E4 might be troublesome without a solid team since those are the bumps. But just get any Ground or Dark type and you should have no problem.

If you want areas to grind, there's a spot in route 47 where you Waterfall and you can battle pokemon that give out fairly high amounts of exp. then when youre around the mid 40's you can simply slap up the E4, until you're at the levels you want to be as they won't get their rematch level until you beat Blue.

Has anyone noticed a bug with Toxic in battle? I use Toxic frequently in the Battle Tree and sometimes it seems to bug out. If I toxic the enemy Pokemon and they do something like Recover, sometimes their HP goes up as it should, but then they are no longer poisoned from Toxic.
Their HP bar still shows a flashing poison, but they take no damage from poison whatsoever, and I can't re-status them again, saying it failed.
This has to be a bug, right? It's happened several times.

No, I'll record next time it happens, I won anyway every time so forgot to do it.
I'm not really crying about it, just wondering if it is indeed a bug, as it seems to be. The target was originally taking full damage from Toxic so no. They take full damage from Toxic, then use some kind of HP-only recover move, and the flashing "Poison" text stays, but they take 0 damage and cannot be statused further.

Could someone help explain the logic to the distribution of normal typing?
A lot of normal types are based on real world animals but a lot of Pokemon based on real world animals aren't normal type.
For example why is Wigglytuff fairy/normal but Granbull is pure fairy?

The special side of normal is voice related.
Pyroar got a secondary Normal typing because it roars and shit. Jigglypuff and Meloetta sing. Granbull doesn't use voice at all to attack. It's also the reason Hyper Voice, Boomburst, Sing, etc are Normal.
Physical normal - melee attacks with body parts
Special normal - voice (hyper voice, pyroar, jigglypuff) or speed (swift, razor wind, heliolisk)

I haven't kept up with Pokemon or even /vp/ since around the time SM came out. Has anything changed since then?
What does the meta look like? I just looked up and saw that the new bug girl isn't banned to ubers so I can only guess it's horrifying.

But aside from that, Dugtrio is being suspect tested right now, next up is gonna probably be Protean Greninja. Tapu Lele and Ash-Greninja don't seem to be broken. Most of the broken stuff got banned from UU. Landorus-T has like 47% usage.
