I would say both are balanced enough for ubers, a tier created with unbalanced mons

in order to be good in ubers it would have to be at the same level that Primal Groudon, Xerneas, Normalceus, Mega Gengar, and Mega Mence are at.

The first one wouldn't really be that great, I can see it as a revenge killer but not much else. It doesn't have the balk or speed to rival Normalceus as a setup sweeper.

The second looks a little bit better but that ability can't really work.

Well, the exact rules haven't been announced for the KvA competition, but every Gen 7 competition thus far has required that your pokemon be either caught or bred in Alola

Theoretically, you could still use pokemon who are native to kanto who don't appear in the Alola dex (Nidoking, for example), as long as you can breed a new one in your Gen 7 game. So, Birds are probably out.

I guess it's possible they'll change the rules for KvA, at least to allow pokemon from the Virtual Console games, but we'll just have to see.

That's pretty much the only thing I would consider a Pokemon well designed for. The rest is just bullshit I couldn't gave any shits about unless it's reflected in the gameplay somehow. For example, I still give zero shits about Samurott being a samurai with swords, mostly proficient underwater. I have no reason to give any shits about it.

A theme is only good or interesting if the Pokemon itself is visually appealing. Good example of this would be Trubbish and Mimikyu. Had they not been as cute as they are, I wouldn't give two shits about their origin or the lore surrounding them.

It was intentionally drawn crude to show Rowlet's intentions.

It's a bit hard to understand, but first shot seems Ash and Lana worrying themselves and crying about both of them being lost, which isn't far from the truth. Second image is them possibly coming back and Ash and Lana witnessing them. Not sure what Rowlet snickering means, unless he wants to put the blames on Popplio, which might explain the arrow and Lana looking pissed at it while Popplio is crying while Ash is just happy Rowlet came back and is crying tears and snot over it, with the final picture ending with a thumbs-up Rowlet.
