All jokes and memes aside, what can you realistically see happening to the franchise within the next ten years?
I can see us reaching post 1000 mons and being in Gen 9 or 10, but that's it. I see story becoming much more important to the game creators and at least one or two more gimmicks in terms of gameplay ala Pokéfusions, or armor, or something weird.

I think they will keep making new pokemon, that alot of the reason new gens are bought the most. I think we will reach 1000 in gen 9 for the 25th anniversary. We will reach a new multiple of 1000's every 25 years. 2000 on the 50th anniversary. With gimmicks, the switch is really powerful. They can make physical apperence gimmicks like armor and battle bond for all pokemon.

What JRPGs FF's is pretty easy to understand. Every thing has attacks and weakness indivually not as groups but there is the classic ice and fire beat each other.

Sp. Atk and Sp. Def are fused back into one Special stat. Every Pokemon's Special is whatever their highest between the two is now, and moves that rose or lowered one obviously now raise the combined Special stat.
How fucked is the metagame?

Hi, let's play a randomized Gen 1.

Using sanqui (https://sanqui.net/randomizer/#pokered), I generated a randomized Gen 1 rom that has pokemon from gens 1 to 6, among other things. We're all playing it together.

The pokedex size is now 251, all pokemon/movesets are randomized (evolutions/types are not randomized), TM's now teach random moves, trade evolutions occur at level 42, Fairy/Dark/Steel types are added, moves from later games have been added, and the gym leaders are all about the difficulty from Pokemon Yellow.
>What do we do?
If you get dubs you can give us a reasonable side-goal or challenge, or ask us to catch any pokemon we've seen in the wild so far. Trips can override dubs and make us release a pokemon. Quads, Quints, and everything else can override dubs/trips and can pretty much be treated as gospel.
As is tradition, I'll also be having gets decide if we catch a certain thing, what party members go/stay, and naming. Other stuff, too.
The first time we run across a pokemon in the wild and we're jonesing for a pokemon, I'll ask the thread if we should catch it based on a get. Otherwise, you'll need dubs.
>The Story So Far
We are Redman, on a quest with our rival BigNiga to complete the pokedex.
Our starter is the "LEGENDARY POKEMON" Gulpin, named Deepthroat, who started off only knowing Metronome.
Everyone in this world is super hot, including our rival and street punks.
Last time, we almost destroyed our elephant, got rid of DICKGLOB since he'll evolve into a dabbing Garchomp, and made it to Lavender Town.
