BW had no third version but sequels
XY had no third version at all but remakes of ORAS
I feel 7th gen will do something very surprising that we dont expect like maybe Alola+Kalos together as sequels to both 6th and 7th gen

I was disappointed by it too. I also did not buy it, my little sister got it from her boyfriend at Christmas. She didn't seem too interested, so I took it for a spin to see if the hype was real.
