I see where you're coming from, but I think people are typically more bothered by Pokemon based on artificial things. So like, something like Chimecho is clearly meant to be an natural animal, but it's based on an item.
Basically anything with no clear animal/plant basis.

Grass is absolute dogshit offensively. It's only saving grace is that it's SE on water, but everyone and their mother carries electric coverage for this very reason anyway.
Defensively it's a mixed bag. Being resistant to water, electric and ground all at once is VERY valuable, and it's immune to several common status moves, but it's also weak to a ton of common offensive types as well.

Seasons were only pretty in BW2 like picrelated. In BW it's like "Oh, so I can't really get a Cryogonal because I started playing during the wrong season"-stupid and the maps look just a little different.
I don't miss them, but I miss being able to change my nigger's form (Autumn is superior).

Fell in love with Pumpkaboo when it was leaked before the game released (XY leaked very early), planned a team that would benefit from it's typing and was hopeful for it's evolution.
I was expecting a cute black-cat like evolution.
Got this shit instead.
What did GF mean by this?
To top it off it sucks immensely and the size gimmick is garbage.
Same thing to a lesser degree with Aromatisse but that's been talked to death.

I agree, love Cutiefly's design.
My main gripe with Ribombee apart from design is that I can never use him successfully.
It has Quiver Dance, alright typing (Bug is meh, Fairy is great), good STAB moves, but just gets bodied by anything and lacks the firepower.
I was expecting a fast glass cannon, instead I got a fast glass BB gun.
