Aside from Explorers of Time/Darkness, PMD games tend to come out near the end of a generation, and late 2017 is still less than 2 years after Super's release. Though Spike Chunsoft is definitely making more if it can, PMD is one of their best selling series.

Gates was a bit rushed and has no postgame, though I like its story and Paradise.
Super is fantastic. Best gameplay and best soundtrack. The break system can fuck off though.

I liked Super's gameplay. Not so much Gates' cool concepts, bad execution.

I really wish they'd stop recycling plots though. Gates was literally an edgier Rescue Team's (granted, Gates had better characters), and Super was Explorers all over again. The ending is literally a shot-for-shot rip-off of Tales of Symphonia's ending, too.
