Starters no, but for most new Pokemon you can get Hidden Abilities from SOS battles. But not all since some don't call their own species for help like the version exclusive primates for example.

It's not really that bad was it? I don't remember it being too bad. It helps that if you can get any combee, you can soft reset until it's a female, Vespiquen isn't bad for sure
