Hey dudes. I haven't played Pokemon since Gen IV and want to do some catching up. Looks like B/W/B2/W2 have more significant differences between them compared to the rest of the series so which combination of two would you personally recommend and why?
Also is there a downside to going from say, Black and then White2, or White and then Black2? Is it better to stick with the same color for the sequel?

If you want the story to be consistent stick with the same version, otherwise you'll get things like important characters having completely different Pokemon.

I prefer White solely because I think the exclusive music it has is better than Black's, i.e. Opelucid City and Reversal Mountain in the sequel.
Also Zekrom > Reshiram yet White Kyurem > Black Kyurem

The time of Z will come.
We've yet to get shiny Zygarde and Eternal Floette (pre-alola regional form?) still exists in the code of SM (unlike Cosplay Pikachu) with its unique move.
Also the mega stones distribution right now also might lead to more new megas in next Kalos game
Zygarde, NecroZma, GuZZlord.
Last but not least this final screen from the XYZ anime is quite convincing, the manga is also supposed to revolve around Zygarde

I know it's so that it has the same bst as Cofagrigus and Jellicent but you can catch those two earlier in the game and they evolve somewhat earlier. A pokemon with such a strong, powerful-looking design that's not available until late game ought to have a bst at least above 500

Agreed. Same goes with rufflet. In Black and white (Originals), you can only catch him as rufflet, not a braviary. He evolves at level 54, which at that point you're probably nearing the E4. And his Bst is only at 510. For something you get that late, and being stuck with it's baby form for almost 25 levels that has horrid stats, it's not really worth it

Braviary and Mandibuzz have 515 bst though.
Golurk got shafted hard. Hell, it's BST is worse than Druddigon and you catch them in the same areas

For example in gen 1 I'm sure some would have included ninetales or mewtwo. Blissey and Miltank in gen 2. Latias in gen 3. and so on.
