It will be better than DP but without having played the precursor it won't trick you into thinking it's good. Expect a slower gen 3 but with a lot less interesting areas and a really annoying overworld. Also, the amount of new-at-the-time Pokémon is functionally about the same as Kalos, because most are hard-to-get trade evos or prevos that you won't take the time to breed for.
Mediocrity that some might enjoy, in other words.

I'm replaying Gale of Darkness and the animations in this game are so good. Everything from the attacks to faints to hit reactions have a great sense of weight and timing.

Maybe they're technically better, but they're way more bland when animations are cut down and every pokemon has the same static idle animation. Then you also have issues like Haxorus where body details are left out, and the 3DS games are much less interesting to look at than the Stadium-Revolution games.

Late to the party, I know, but that was disa-fucking-pointing. Not only was it not a full-on boss battle with Fusion Lusamine like the cinematic implied, Pokestar-style, just a normal trainer fight, it turns out that after all that buildup Lusamine is the worst Pokemon trainer who ever lived.

She actually did. Looking into her fight data from that one tool SciresM (I think) made, you can actually see that her trainer AI is at the absolute lowest setting.
Her mons might have perfect IVs, are EV trained, and have beneficial natures... but their nonexistent movepools and her braindead AI make the fight A joke.

If it was higher, that could be probably one of the hardest fights in the Pokémon history. Really disappointing, but probably too much for a "kids game".

I'm replaying BW2 right now, and I'm wondering why did they ditch all the cool little things the previous gens had? Even Gen 6, with all its flaws, still made it possible to actually do some neat things with your pokémon or customize some places/characters, but Gen 5 barely has anything but battles and more battles. And the minigames like the Musical and Funfest Missions are either boring as fuck or don't involve your pokémon at all.

Battles and exploration are kind of the lifeblood of the series so expanding on them isn't exactly a bad thing. Join Avenue was also a thing.

For me, I never really cared much about the side stuff. Battles and story is what I mainly want in a Pokémon game, and while BW2 does have extra choices, it excels at the options that I personally want.

Seriously though, what are the chances of PWT return in Alola (and replace the shitty Battle Royal)? Some people say it wont happen because there's no point in making 50-60 human models just for one extra feature.
Others say it would make sense to make 3d models for old characters because they could be very well used in the future like the Pokemon models. Thoughts?
Could you imagine how cool and glorious it would be? Not to mention it would give full teams to Kalos and Alola key trainers (which didnt happen so far)

They already made Red and Blue and the Sinnoh remakes are definitely coming in the next few years. I wouldn't rule it out unless GF switches over completely to Switch and has to make new models for that console.

Switch Pokemon probably dulls those chances but really most of the work is done since they just have to recycle/modify a body type. The only substantial elements to deal with are hair and textures.
