From watching Japanese, not really desu. I'm not a high enough weeb level to get the pokemon name puns made by Samson Oak in Japanese, and they don't translate into English, so it just becomes interspersing random pokemon names into speech.
The majority of the gags besides running character specific gags like the one mentioned before and Rowlet's sleepiness amount to "funny face reaction accompanied by 'EEEEEEHHHHHH?!'"or the like. Most of these gags just make the art shift of Ash and Team Rocket more jarring, or don't amuse me when done by the new characters.
Overall, none of the comedy relief really has got me beyond Nanu's losing animation levels of laughter(pic related), but at the same time it's not jarring or enough to turn me away, so it just evens out to a "meh."
...But don't take my word for it. Comedy's extremely subjective.

DungeonChampion now with a full dungeon of 6 shitmons in my house and It's going really well. champing is 300 bucks and usually the guy is pretty much hard on pop to get really relaxed y'know and I have this long latex glove that goes all the way up to my armpit and then I put on a surgical latex glove up to my wrist and just lube it up and it's a long process y'know to get your whole arm up there but it's an intense feeling for the other person I think for myself too, you go in places that even though it's physical with your hand but for some reason it's also more emotional it's more psychological too and we both get you know to the same place it's really strange at the same time and I find sessions like that really exhausting. I don't know I feel kinda naked because I am looking at myself for the first time, well not myself but this aspect of my life for the first time and it's been harsh... three to five years already? I never thought about it... Kinda sad I feel kinda sad right now, I don't know why.

My name is maría and i worked for language devolopment for nintento in europe and x/y sun/moon betatesting. Games have to get adaptations in every language to dont have any cultural issue.
I heard that 4chan is the most used website to display info and i have a few things thay u might wanna know.
First of all, my name is an alias its obviously not my real name.
The games have a lot of extra content as sun and moon is an uncomplete version of the series and the reason why the "expansion" is being released so soon.
-Ultra evolutions: Z-moves didnt have the success of megaevolutions and this mechanic was avoided in sun/moon devolopment because of balance issues in-game. Ultra evolutions are pretty simillar to the mega evolution mechanic, but they activate by "parental bond". Some pokemon getting this are A-Ninetales (lillie form)/Incineroar/Primarina/Decidueye/Arcanine.
-2 new ultrabeasts
-Alolan forms for Johto pokemon (starters/legendary beasts and some johto pokedex mons)
-More outfits for characters
-megas and ultraevolutions enabled for vgc 2018 tournament format.
-Megaevolutions (not ultra) for Delphox and Chesnaught. Greninja has an ultra.
-Legendary beasts from alola come for an ambiental issue i wont release, they are ice suicune, dark entei and steel raikou.
-alolan johto starters are grass/fairy. fire/ground. Water/dark. Meganium has wings and a flowers necklace. Thyplosion has a volcano on his back. Feraligatr has sabretooth.
-Mega evolution delphox is quadrped and has blue fire in each one of its 2 tails. Mega chesnaught gets 2 gloves of quills.
I wont unveil more because i wanna feel the hype. Dont believe me, just keep it in mind.

it was the gen before the ps split, and almost every pokemon had stats that balanced its types
for instance, cacturne is grass and dark. in gen 3, grass was physical only and dark was special only. since they had to balance the attacks, they couldnt put more into hp or speed

Why do you still play Pokemon?
I mean what's the point when the latest games are the shittiest installments so far, and Gen 6 and 7 have set a precedent in short gens that rush games out the door and casualise them to hell and back because muh smartphones. The metagame hasn't been good since late Gen 4 either, and there's no sign that either cartridge play or competitive will do anything but backslide even further. Don't tell me that the Switch games or USM will fix anything because you know that GF doesn't follow that model anymore.
It's so bad that at this point, NOBODY defends SM anymore, let alone XY and ORAS. Pretty much the consensus is that the franchise is in a state of decline and they've abandoned any pretense of the careful craft that made games like Emerald, HG/SS and BW great. Yokai Watch is even threatening to surpass Pokemon in Japan as a result.

I've posted something similar 2016 after the release of SM.
The comments were generally like:
