The games felt like Heat: The Video Game at the beginning, and most of the DLC's they added stuck pretty close to this aesthetic. I could see professional bank robbers using a variety of small arms, even if it got kind of stupidly military there. The grenades always should have been concussive instead of frag though.

But now it just feels stupid. And inconsistent too. Why do we have to wait for a drill to open a door when we have an RPG? You could justify the grenades and the launcher as being too fragmentory to break hard surfaces, but an RPG? Will we be able to shoot down helicopters now?

The power creep is real in this game. So you might very we'll be able to blow open a door you'd otherwise have to drill. I imagine it would be balanced by only allowing for 1 RPG

I've never really been critical of overkill's practices- I mean, they make good money, and I really do enjoy the game, and I'm happy that payday is big enough for them to set these goals and at least have a chance of hitting them sometime in the future, even if it looks sluggish out of the gate.

But fucking christ, this might just be the straw that broke the camel's back. where do they get off setting kickstarter-esque milestones for us to hit for a game that we've paid for, and paid for again multiple times over through DLCs? I feel extorted.

And I don't buy the whole "starving indy dev" thing as an excuse, the game was fucking profitable. Hell, their stock ROSE today after this announcement.

Nothing they do is for the players anymore, they're really just doing it for the money. I didn't want to believe it, and I always thought the "overschill" or "overjew" thing was overdone, but fuck man.
