It is but we're going through threads like Akihiko goes through dead friends and relatives. It won't last long.
For the final wait!
How are you waiting, /pg/?
Playing Video games.
Yakuza 4 is pretty good.
What if Persona 5 has Action Commands and Timed Hits?
Atlus continues to burn our breads.
It's custom-made and adjustable, the perfect length for anyone!
I don't know, what if it did?
I really hope this Phantom fellow is someone like Joker. Because good lord does this series need a kick in the teeth after Super friendship rainbow TV family fun hour
>Defeating Elizabeth for the first time in PQ gets you a new Persona
>Its starting moves indicate it's ideal for linking
>It can't be fused from the other good linking Personas, meaning you can't easily pass it other link moves, and perhaps can't at all
What the fuck is this thing for?
All I want is 2 link moves on one Persona, with Double Link. Jesus. It's not like I'm asking for anything particularly good, like Impure Reach and Death's Scythe on the same Persona or anything.
I would be surprised if the ratio of light-hearted to dark moments is just as bad, but with different emphasis this time.
I miss when the killer was out to get your personally and was only letting you live long enough to remember why you deserve to die as his monsters hound you relentlessly
Piercy. Yu and Tatsuya both try to keep up 'cool guy' appearances, but they're also both autistic.
P3MC gives fucks about other people, but not himself. He just doesn't want to live.
Piercy on the other hand had his tragic backstory, and got over it. He doesn't give a fuck what people think of him. He (badly) sings karaoke to people AND demons.
I mean fuck, his shadow was so nonchalant that it just sits there playing vidya. That's his darkest, innermost suppressed thoughts. Playing vidya by himself.
Maya's pretty chill.
They wanted her to be like Aigis and be profitable to waifufags with a shitton of merch. They saw that it didn't happen with just Golden so they made the anime too to give it another shot. It backfired and make Yu less popular instead.
Even P4 had some dark moments (or at least dark themes).
Frankly I just think people are sick of Persona 4. Two games however many spinoffs and two anime is enough to get on everyones nerves.
Especially when P4 was frankly pretty shallow to start with.
How? Her VA is good but she doesn't sound like a guy at all. She also really pronounced lips for some reason.
They kind of lost impact when you spent more time playing on the beach or studying for a test than you did trying to STOP THE GODDAMN KILLER.
There's just no urgency. You can rescue whomever's in danger in under a day and then you spend the bulk of the game running around in a goddamn circle eating ramen, hanging with friends or doing whatever stupid shit
I thought Naoto was male simply because nobody else was bringing up how blatantly female she was. When even many hours after her introduction they still hadn't pulled the reveal I just shrugged and went with it.
I hope the situation changes back to how it was in 3 at least, where events happen on a monthly scale and the dungeons are there mostly for grinding. Then you at least have an excuse to waste time
>teddie didnt even ranked
Hahaha eat shit you stupid bear
>You can rescue whomever's in danger in under a day and then you spend the bulk of the game running around in a goddamn circle eating ramen, hanging with friends or doing whatever stupid shit
Talking bout P3? It works for it too. And then when they add urgency they do it via Ryoji aka the worst and most annoying way possible.
>She resents the kids for forgetting her/locking her in the shrine.
Dude the shrine caught fire. Im not expert but I think most people tend to be a bit cross when their friends almost immolate them. I think that her being as positive and nice as she is to them AT ALL is pretty telling of how nice she is.
If nothing else you can use the Kanju thing to really tell the difference between people who know what they're talking about and people who are full of shit and just want click bait
He was easily the worst P4 character in my opinion. He was always just, that one guy you kinda knew in High school that always tried to be your friend. Junpei was way better at the same role and actually had development.
>Talking bout P3? It works for it too.
Kind of but 3 at least had more justification as to why there was more down time.
P4 doesn't even pull the whole "let's search for clues" after the boss fight where you explore the room and dig up some extra dirt.
3 at least had characters with arcs and development. There's just no weight to anything that happens in 4. All the stuff the characters deal with was shit they would have dealt with without shadow intervention anyways.
No one goes through the shit Junpei or Yukari did. No one has to face any real dramatic reveal. Nothing actually happens.
>shit they would have dealt with without shadow intervention anyways.
I'm not so sure on this. I can definitely see Kanji, Rise, and Naoto at least getting neck-deep into shit before realising that they were doing things the wrong way and trying to change. Especially Naoto.
Not the same anon, but I agree that both P3 and P4 have really bad pacing problems.
Obviously the characters still have real-world obligations (and in P3's case, SEES was led to believe that defeating the full moon shadows was a good thing, so they were bound to a year schedule) they can't just give up on to pursue a case no one else believes in.
Still, there has to be a better way then leaving you to go to hot springs while a serial murderer is roaming your town. It seems like the kind of thing that would weigh on you a lot, and it shows when Nanako gets kidnapped, but it baffles me how quickly Yosuke got over Saki's death.
To varying degrees though, all the Persona games have tone issues. Persona 4 just stands out as the worst example if for no other reason than the message put forward about media perceptions of people (pushed really hard in the fact that every party member after Chie deals with it in some way), different views of what's 'true', and the things 'society' is responsible for, are cast aside like toilet paper so they can get in more bad comedy writing.
Both of those problems can be kind of boiled down to "I hate being condescended to on the basis of what I am seen to be rather than the quality of my work", the people perpetuating it just have different excuses for why they think Naoto isn't competent.
Whether she really is competent is a totally different question, but as far as can be told from the information you get in the games, she's supposed to be pretty good at her job.
They want him to fuck Yu. Or not anymore. Now they probably want to bully him more.
They want Shadow Yu to fuck all the other characters, male or female.
Her main problem was that she had so little self-esteem that all of her self-worth was dependant on how others saw her. She thinks acting like a fictional detective and behaving the way she does will make others value her even though it does the opposite. Since she's somewhat detachted from other people (especially her own agegroup) she never realises that what she's doing is wrong.
Her SL almost never focuses on her gender or her conflict with the police over age but has a lot more focus on her learning to be confident in herself and like herself, and being more open to others.
I agree with you, but at the same time there wasn't much for the I. Team to do unless they were rescuing someone. SEES had a bit more at their disposal, while all the I. Team could really do is wait for someone to be captured and then ask them about what happened
>Both of those problems can be kind of boiled down to "I hate being condescended to on the basis of what I am seen to be rather than the quality of my work"
That's well and good but don't pull this bullshit where you spend the whole time setting her themes up as "growing up" just to replace it with a reverse trap for the sake of reverse traps. That's all it boiled down too.
we already did gender and sexuality shit with Kanji.
So then, what is everyone betting on to be the main mythology for the game? In P3 we had ancient Greek, and P4 was Japanese.
Based on what I've seen being guessed, the following are all candidates:
- Odin implications based on the burning eye on the mask
- That one anon connecting the heart taking with Daevas and Nyarly with Angra Mainyu,
- Another anon mentioned Ammit - she eats the hearts of people who have been judged impure, and may be connected the same way as above.
Which are you hoping for, anons?
A major issue I had with P4 was that too much time was spent just recruiting your party then it was dealing with an actual villain or story.
There where barely any legitimate loses for the party, there was no real opposing force and the characters basically where all dumbed down to one note personality quirks and had the same emotional responses to everything.
What's worse is you could cut out most any one of them and the "story" wouldn't be any different.
The Odin thing sounds the most convincing to me, so I'm expecting Norse. Any of those options would be fine with me, though I'd prefer Zoroastrian over the other two if only because I don't know much about it which makes it more exciting.
