I get players that are in my VHS skill and after checking their account on dotabuff I can see that they are 2-3k mmr actually since they get sent to high skill and unmarked games.

These players are in VHS since they have to fill the MMR disparity gap. Especially when you play in mm and there are stacks.

No shadow pool for you, you just actually got sent to a game with people having the same mmr as you.

Did moonmeander lose all of his viewers because people finally realized he's going nowhere in dota? He used to have 2k+ viewers all of the time and now never gets over 700

Pretty much, in steam dev days some developer commented on this.
As the player plays more games, their skill generally plateus and doesn't improve. So they get stuck at 50% and a rating corresponding to their skill.

I know one guy at 4.7 that blogposts on dotabuff forums about bad teammates and gives people "advice" by analyzing replays etc. But this fucking guy is ruining peoples ranked games nonstop due to him being actually shit and his skill has actually dropped but he can't realize this so he will just hang onto his MMR he doesn't want to ruin.
(He plays party mmr to not change his solo, and it is at 4.2)

your skill plateuing is a self regulating thing tho. like in any skill based activity it needs people who are better than you to learn more stuff. if you keep being on your level you wont improve because there is not much space for improvement besides what you can do with your own spectrum.
if youre new to dota you dont get good just from playing but also from seeing and experience stuff you dont understand yet or arent able to do automaticly providing space to your skill pool.

The ability to make snap decisions differentiates the 4k from the 5k players because frankly a 4k player probably has all the knowledge the 5k player does. Even in CSGO, you can't do that. Win one or two rounds? Yes. Carry the entire game? Unless you drastically outskill the enemy team. The key to getting better in Dota2 is experience and ability to make fast decisions. Of course mechanical skills play a minor part but even EE has mentioned that Loda/Akke didn't have good mechanics before they joined NTH and they were still good players. It is the ability to instantly know what to do in a given situation that separates the pack and that only comes from playing more games.

they get shut down in lane or don't get enough cs to be playing the hero to start with, they build crit instead of maelstrom (except the first guy who was never involved in a fight during the game), they farm while you're pushing and teamfighting not realizing that their contribution is extremely important, etc.

in all 3 of those games the void was the lowest fight involvement and in all 3 of those games i outdamaged the void at least 2:1 with either a less hard carry or a support.

i might play again tonight and if i do i'm first picking void then repicking. he's a hero who's hard to play well, you have to get extremely good farm early, and these shit retards just constantly ruin my games any time they pick him.

btw, i pretty much drastically outskilled everyone in the history of me playing fps games. that's part of why dota is so frustrating to me. I was almost invite-only tournament tier at quake, q3 and CS, but i'm relatively garbage at dota.

I played CS from beta 3 in 1999. CS is so old to me I can't bear to play it and honestly, the dota-ization of it, with people thinking it's some srs ranked game, has ruined the fanbase. CS is a drop in drop out game. Playing every pub match like it's a serious scrim is sad.

CS was also ruined the moment they introduced preset spray patterns. Memorizing spray patterns does not make a good game.

Most pros and people getting recruited play in ESEA, ESL and FACEit.
It's like CSGOs NEL. Cheaters get booted and banned and you actually have players that care about the game.

I already read it all bro. That's why I'm on here frustratedly attention whoring every day. There's no basic dota skill I don't have. I've even started smoking a lot, like last game I got an early kill by smoking into the safe lane and omnislashing them. I get better and better but win like 53% of my games at max due to the nature of matchmaking.

One of the things that made me a lot better was watching my booster hide behind trees and make a beeline for neutrals to deny himself. I added those things to my kit and it's a great feeling when people run up expecting to see you and you're standing there behind a single tree and they give up and walk back to the lane.
