>this butthurt because someone added an "edition" to the OP
Too scared I'll fuck up something or someone's gonna make a new thread at the same time, I'll pass.
That's why you call it out before you make it.
Calling it won't stop anyone, especially not the dedicated shitposters, and you know it. It happened plenty of times already.
Why would someone want more P3?
yea no izanami is a copse
izanami no okami is better
God this annoying bitch won't shut the hell up about food. It's like she's the offspring of that Moon guy in Persona 3 and Hanako
thanks for telling me
ALSO MARIE ROCKS
but she is bodacious
Is Body-Soul Reverse a good idea on one of my mages?
Also, has anyone used St-Ma Reverses to turn physical characters into mages and vice-versa? I'm thinking about doing it for shits and giggles on my second playthrough with Kanji and Yukiko.
kinda looks like it is only missing the words
o stfu she fucking harmless
She literally single-handedly drags down the entire game's story. The worst part of P4 is the fact that it was actually a god fucking around the whole time instead of just being a murder mystery, and Marie just adds more retard deity shit to the mix.
She wants to tell Liz when they first meet, but decides it's not worth fucking the timestream even worse.
Later on during a stroll with the two of them, she implies to Liz that she will eventually leave the Velvet Room, but doesn't say why and Liz doesn't catch on.
those fuckers try to peep her perfect body
For a game that is a fanservice spin off that flanderizes most characters, it had a lot of sweet moments
They were probably scoping out anyone BUT Marie
Most dudes aren't into balding chicks
BS HE SET IT ALL UP
Spells in persona q are fucking retarded. Not only does it overwrite the lesser version but it costs fucking 40sp for bufudyne. If I get while boosted after casting it twice then I get the pleasure of not being able to hit that elemental weakness unless I retardedly give that persona a persona with an element they already have.
This is one reason why Marie's existence is retarded. Why is she a spy when Izanami was already able to do that? It's pretty much why she shows up as a gas station attendant aside from waiting for her three lab rats.
Why is she a spy when Izanami can just see in the CU what people want.
If she is the one telling her stuff about humans, why do you need to beat Ameno to stop Izanami's apocalypse. Finishing her S.Link should be enough.
Isn't she actually the cause of the weird fog in the real world? The fog is within her until near the end, when it spreads out into Inaba. It's why she wanted to die, because she thought it would stop her from releasing the fog.
Her being a spy, too, is redundant as hell, though.
your retarded it makes perfect sense to me she was backup plan for the fog
No, Ameno-Sagiri lays down the fog. If it turns out that it isn't needed anymore it gets drained into Marie and then she disappears to get rid of it. Apparently Ameno can't just get rid of it himself without using a proxy.
I meant when the fog starts to spread into the real world, when that guy in the gas mask starts running around screaming about the end of the world.
I guess I just remembered it wrong, and it was this: >>89153778
So, uh, why are you guys responding to the Marie shitposter?
I know, we should be talking about the real best girl
she was a place for the fog to go if he was defeated
>People still using the everyone hates marie meme
Me too, the idea of that is really hot. But I'd never do something so terrible.
You are putting more thought into that than whoever was in charge of coming up with some believable bullshit to make her seem relevant. They just wanted to rehash Ryoji and Teddie again.
di you forget her dungeon she was gona kill her self and seal the fog in that place which was gona be impossible to exit or get into
They should have made her hair shorter when you meet her and she's pretending to be a boy and then it grows to the length in her portraits or the P4G epilogue if you romance her
Or maybe that's a dumb idea
Which is another reason why Marie is redundant and feels tacked-on.
Tell me more about how you would bully Naoto.
Ameno doesn't die forever or anything when the IT defeat him, he outright says that he's still going to be there, keeping an eye on the humans to return and lay down fog again if they go back to wanting it. It just feels very awkward that he apparently can't get rid of it by himself even though he can. And hell, Ameno-Sagiri aside, Izanami can do it too. But I guess they changed this all to Marie being the only way to get rid of the fog.
Shouldn't it all go into her again when they clear out the TV world?
The idea is that the fog takes over her mind (???) and kills her which somehow doesn't pop it all out of her. The IT get around this problem by defeating her after it takes over her, which somehow disperses the fog. Oh and Marie is safe because she 'put her mind to sleep' before they beat her up.
I guess that would be a pipe dream. I should probably consider myself lucky they did the girls' school uniform stuff
Is there like, an actual reason why they just made one portrait pose for every character and then just changed the faces? Like, I really don't want to believe that they were just lazy since they made multiple poses for characters in P3.
She is redutant and tacked on even in games she was in from the beginning. In Ultimax she knows about everything that happens in Inaba because she is a guardian goddess of the region, but she still had no idea Kagutsuchi was in town for two months.
I don't know why they didn't draw multiple portraits.
Maybe it's P4's short development time rearing its head. Corner cutting and all that.
A decent bully, she will not be able to shoot you afterwards with a broken arm.
All it takes to weaken her is to dump some garbage around the town.
And she's definitely fighting something offscreen that's kicking her butt and not the writers being too lazy to include her.
Make her story make more sense, and then make it actually-tragic instead of fake-tragic, and have her actually need to die to save everyone. Guarantee you people would love her and be clamoring for her return after that.
Stick to the original plan and make the gas station attendant the Izanami S.Link
If they really want to keep that devianart OC, make her unrelated to the main plot. Just a random deity that somehow ended up involved with that mess, with her own issues that were not already used by different character in the same game.
I'm not sure. I think having her be a sagiri/izanami aspect/whatever you want to call it was a bad move, because even if the sagiri were left mostly unexplained there wasn't a lot about them that needed explaining, and her role becomes redundant.
If they kept her as a supernatural thing I'd shy away from the amnesia/Teddie 2.0 nature of her link.
But having her just be some random chick isn't exactly compelling either. I got nothing.
This would've probably worked, though I think you'dve also gotten people who were like 'finally, glad that Marie died!'.
This would have been a lot better than ever having Marie.
I like this idea. And Kaguya in general. It's a neat legend that has nothing to do with Izanami and would make a nice side thing. Even her godawful design would fit since Kaguya was an alien.
marie got retconned into the plot. you see the before and after and then you see it is pointless.
aigis got shoved into the plot, but you don't see the before, only the after, in which she's a very simple plot device.
I like the Kaguya idea, but what would her story be about? An outsider coming to town and then... I don't know, asking you to collect a bunch of random shit and flying off to the moon? Pulling a Saki and running away from her hometown for some reason? Feeling a disturbance in the truth force? Just giving an outsider's perspective on Inaba?
Here is the list of SMT games:
SMT1, II, If.., NINE, Nocturne, Imagine, SJ, IV, a fuck ton of cell phone games
SMT Devil Summoner
SMT Devil Children Red/Black/White/Light/Dark/Fire/Ice Book, Messiah Riser, Puzzle De Call, and the cell phone one.
I still can't believe they mention Devil Children Messiah Riser in the english official Nocturne strategy guide.
They just had to list Mr. Grimm and Sweet Tooth to gnaw away at me
why the fuck do they have dead franchises up there? fuck you sony
Directly top left of Chie. Hes small as fuck
I think you're right. It has the anime's pallette but the lines are sloppy for official art and the style doesn't match.
Why wouldn't they just use the actual mascot character, Teddie?
Any of those ideas could work. Hell, you could even use the amnesia thing but tweak it a bit. You actually help her reach out to the truth about herself instead of ignoring it like in Marie's S.Link, she instead of flipping would actually be happy and proud of her true self and there is no running away. It would be great for Teddie too, since there is a being similar to him that instead of shying away tries its best to live among humans and do something good.
The best part is, is that the first Bioshock was a port from the 360
Pretty sure they're just saying Persona 4 vanilla because they want to cite the mother game of the p4 franchise.
And why the fuck is snake so damn small? He should be front and center damnit, he's so important to the play station franchise
Hell they mislabeled his name as "solid Snake"
Yeah. Golden has you pick the cards and has crazy bonuses like 'Persona goes up a level' and the cards never reverse. For negatives you just have things like Devil which give you +3 more card picks but null your experience gain for the fight. Which is a lot nicer than what the old Devil was.
>the guy from the party quiz shovelware game is a giant character
Alright guys, the search is over. I've found the most recognizable and important character that's ever been on Playstation.
>implying it's not Blue Enemy
You know considering they just got the biggest fight game franchise in their pockets, they'd show some love to Street Fighter, rather than trash like Nathan Drake, who's front and center
really scraped the barrel with this one
Why the fuck is Reiko from Ridge Racer on there twice, side by side?
>implying Ryu's more important than Big Daddy, from the number one port of an Xbox 360 game of all time
evil spirit club floor 4 were the darkness key and the switch for the door?
Forget whatever I was about to post. What the fuck even is this captcha?
It's not "none of them," I can tell you that.
It's as lewd as you want it to be
That game is really dumb and made no sense. also the ending is really bad. Naoto is a better detective than that chucklefuck. Just go play ghost trick.
Am I the only one who thought that it looked like Sony used some fan art of Chie flashing her butt for the image?
>Being this much of a girl
Bet you cried in Labyrs's story as well. You should go play with your barbie dolls instead.
>Akuma posted twice
>Smash Bros Mega Man
>mostly DC characters
>no GTA/Marvel/Star Wars/anything Disney (is Sora from KH even on there?)/Valve characters
The more I play PQ the more I realize how much I prefer P3 cast and plot over P4G.
P4 is what happens when every main character is a mary sue protagonist, like how Shinjiro from P3 is an actual thug, while Kanji is a 'tough guy with a soft side' cliche
Seriously, the P4 cast is the most protagonisty buncha protagonists I've ever seen. Like how they all learned how to play musical intruments in two days for 'the big concert!" and used friendship and teamwork to fight ther inner shadows!
Hated the social links in P3, but the mood and characters were more immersive.
Is there anyone that genuinely prefers P4's story or characters (Even excluding Marie and the meta fuckery of P4G) over P3's?
The p4 crew bounce off of eachother really well, some very good chemistry
But in the end, I just like the casts of p3 more, since their relationships with eachother were more interesting that "BEST FRIENDS FOREVER". You really feel by end of the game, the cast earned their friendships
So yeah, I love both casts but, I prefer P3's more.
For the side characters and villains, P4 trumped P3.
Good thing Akihiko was completely obsessed with Protein just as Chie was with meat, right? They somehow made Chie even more obsessed with meat and dropped her other characteristics and also somehow made Teddie even more obnoxious. When you get to the third labyrinth pretty much every other word out of Mitsuru's mouth is "execute" which just kills the joke. The dialogue seems like it was made by a team of people that got summaries of the characters from people who played the games.
I just like how they felt like real people (to me) in P3. And, at least at the start, they weren't even fucking friends. Junpei even dislikes you for a long time. It's like, they came together and forged their bonds through their own trials, and also came to their own personal realizations, and by the end of the whole thing were just a lot more mature and just better people (aside from yukashit)
And then in P4 they were just this group of pretty much already established friends who just added more friends into their big group hug and just had all this fun together. There was optional character development in the SLs but of course it doesn't change anything in the main story so it's pointless. Then they save the day and get to live all happily ever after, and their best buddy can take the train back whenever he wants, so there's hardly even any sad feelings at the end. I mean I'm exaggerating a bit, but I just enjoyed every aspect of P3 more except the gameplay. It just felt so much deeper to me.
>There was optional character development in the SLs but of course it doesn't change anything in the main story so it's pointless.
Be honest with me here. Does most of the P3 cast get any sort of major development that has anything to do with the real plot?
Fuuka is a sweetheart but she doesn't change and has fuck all to do with the plot.
Adachi is an edgy jackass.
Sho is a 16 year old who thinks he knows what it's like to be cool and edgy.
I'm pretty sure Atlus USA didn't write PQ. They translated it and some jokes change, but the characters are there.
>hating on the next protagonist of Atlus' hack and slash spin off
I can't say they all change drastically. Yeah, Fuuka is probably the most shallow character (second to a fucking dog of course) but I mean, look at pretty much everyone else. They're kind of forced to change themselves due to what happens to them throughout the game. It's not like their personalities completely turn on their heads or anything but, shit, just look at Junpei. He was the biggest joke of the group and really didn't give a shit about any of it, but probably was the most mature one about their situation in the answer. I mean it's not like some finely crafted masterpiece of character development, but it felt significant to me and certainly was compared to P4.
Her awakening was a full reversal of her dependency issues.
And I'd argue that everyone in P3 develops. It just isn't as linear as "Oh no my shadow self! YOU'RE NOT ME. Ok I guess you are me. I accept myself now!" It's more dynamic. Especially Junpei.
there's a fuckload of development when Pharos gives his ultimatum to everyone. But I do agree with you on the lack of development with social links. None of the social links do jack shit for development though, because they're entirely optional. It wouldn't make sense gameplay wise if it affected plot.
>When you get to the third labyrinth pretty much every other word out of Mitsuru's mouth is "execute" which just kills the joke.
She's scared man what do you expect? She doesn't want people to mess with her of course she's going to say it a million times.
she didn't have much to do with the plot, but she did grow up from a sheltered shut in always worried about her parents bitching at her into a pretty sociable girl
That being said, she had the least character development next to koromaru
And does anyone else like the weird picture captcha? It's easy as fuck and takes less time typing
when you get that large of a cast each characters only have a couple lines to do. i dont know why you expect in depth development when their stories are already developed elsewhere.
I'm just going to disagree because in many cases, I didn't really see a change other than maybe someone saying something with no follow-up. Akihiko I think is actually the worst.
Pre-Shinji's Death: Training, because I must have the strength
Post-Shinji's Death: Training, but I know there's more to life than strength
Which you really only get out of him because he comes out and tells you this. There's no point in the story where I really feel "Oh, Akihiko is acting differently from how he would originally." No, he's the same. This pretty much goes for the entire cast of P3, except Junpei and maybe Yukari.
I'm not going to act like P4 is a masterpiece of development, but I don't accept "But S Links are optional" as much of an excuse.
Not that guy but it doesn't matter whether you accept it or not because even if you do the S. Links they are all practically the same as each other just as each facing their shadow was practically the same.
But it's because they're optional that the characters don't develop in the story. Which is the problem. One can pretend they did but it doesn't change how they act. As for Akihiko, he felt changed to me. He just seemed to be pretty cocky, and fighting for the thrill of it, and he didn't change THAT much, but just enough that I could see his change in motivation reflected.
And my point is the series as a whole doesn't really do great party development over time. I even extend that back to the earlier games.
Both SEES and the IT change little as individuals. By the end, they're mostly the same.
My point is I don't think SEES develop in the story either. Nor does it ever really tie in to the plot.
I think it ultimately comes down to how you want the story presented, and what form your most comfortable with.
Yeah Akihiko wasn't exactly the pinnacle of writing.
But I do think the Akihiko at the start of the game was different from the one at the end. In the start he was pretty arrogant, talked down to MC a couple times. At the end, he tells him that he'll always be there for him once he graduates from high school.
Maybe not incredible development, but it was present
route in general
>Akihiko's dead butt buddy
I would argue that every single one of these drove character development at least marginally. Not every change was as notable as say Junpei's or Aigis's, but I think a good amount of attention was given to each of the characters, since all players have to get the same minimal level of development from all characters (except for the fucking dog). If you want more from any character, play their SL, simple as that.
>If you want more from any character, play their SL, simple as that.
If they even get one.
For the most part, I think 3 was really lacking in the S. Link department, with some notable exceptions.
Wait, that's not canon is it? I've just been assuming that Teddie was the shadow of Ikutsuki from P3. The whole thing about him not being able to summon a Persona, Teddie not being a normal shadow, and both of them being annoying faggots with their puns just made me kind of figure that they were two sides of the same coin.
>Wait, that's not canon is it?
Yeah, it is.
If I remember right, there's a tense meeting as soon as MC gets back from the storm. Seems odd that PQ has them joking and shit.
Mitsuru doesn't either. She still believes that atoning for her company is up to her in Arena. Akihiko also goes back to acting cocky and Ken still suffers from Napoleon complex.
I'm not sure how to elaborate without giving a laundry list of generic crap that you'd expect to hear. I liked the characters a lot and liked the banter. I liked the setting and I felt there was a lot of detail put into it that made it feel very tight and coherent. I liked the general theme and even with its flaws I liked the story. Compared to P3, I just didn't enjoy it as much -- characters, setting, plot, etc, I always felt there was something a little hollow to it that I didn't feel with P4.
Though I imagine P3fags see it the same way, just swapped the other way around.
>being an autistic edgy child
I get you.
I firmly think that all the games are good in their own ways, its just P4 becomes kind of a whipping boy because it started casualizing the game and bringing in quite a few autists into the series. Not to mention the milking, but I won't complain as long as the milk is good
What if that was my plan all along?
It wasn't, but I'll pretend it was.
That's not the picture I wanted but okay.
Just ignore them, I tend to stay in /smtg/ now.
I just beat the first dungeon in PQ on level 11 and leveled up to 12. And I found that all the other team's members are level 12 as well, while the rest of my party is 3 levels behind.
Should I have ground for some more? At what level did you beat the first boss?
I was 10 the first time I got to the final level of the dungeon too, but I didn't have any aoe elemental spells to clear the card soldiers quickly, and I lost.
Although maybe that wasn't the real reason, because I died to one-shot elemental spells the boss was using during the last phase. And the next time I brought a persona with magic bind with me.
This is the best PQ FeMC.
Go ahead and post the Lisa edit you dick.
So is that one, Anon. Her head looks huge.
FeMC a cute
Not him, but I liked going from 3 to 4. Had it dealt with another worldwide catastrophe, I probably wouldn't like the series as much. I know Adachi mentions that the 'world' will be covered in fog, but I saw it as a slight exaggeration. Like it would only be Inaba and slowly spread out over time.
Goddamn. Can you FeMC ever not be shit? Is it your intention to outshit everyone else? Because you are.
its a damn shame, the femc route was a lot of fun, but i'm too ashamed to talk about it since I don't want to be lumped in with them.
And yes 4 had that comfy, down to earth vibe that I liked
How can this post be real, if my eyes aren't real?
MC has some ugly ass shoes. Tatsuya has best kicks.
Talking about her route is fine, but most FeMCshtters do nothing other than post the same images, asking why she's not canon and spamming that she's cute. Avoid that and you're good.
>Look away for a quick second because I got a message
>Look back after hearing Zen's death line
>Suddenly everyone died and I don't even know how
Well alrighty then. I don't even know what killed my MC who has the
MC should sleep with both eyes open every fucking night
>Sick agi bro
Holy shit why did that make me laugh so hard? It must be late.
You've obviously never seen some of the high end shoes. Louboutin has some shitty ass shoes depending on the season.
Or those Mexican pointy boots.
Sevens uniform is the best uniform, you tasteless cur. It probably doesn't help that Kaneko drew that.
I like Yasogami more. While Gekkoukan uniform is high class official, Yasogami is simple and crude, but at the same time comfy rural. I myself live in a small town, so maybe that's why. Although we never had school uniforms here.
I had uniforms all my life during my school years. It was really weird when I entered college and didn't have to wear any. Uniforms really do make choosing what to wear very easy and inexpensive.
Yasogami uniforms are average though, but they're way better than St. Hermelin's and Kasugayama's.
