>wanted Zen to be the one who kills off Clockwork God
>he and two other party members die
>right after that Yukiko finishes him off
>with a regular attack
god fucking damn it, that killed the mood
Cowardfag from 2 threads ago. I knew it was coming but I still screamed like a bitch.
two different anime series for P4, soon to be 5 movies for P3, and yet still the only good Persona AMV is the Azumanga Dioh redrawn with persona characters
yeah, i'd say it is. each of the individual cases before the finale are pretty strong I'd say. I mean 70% of the characters are as thin as cardboard, but it's still a great game
And there are plenty of storyline twists besides who is the killer
I guess im not actually sure if I know who the killer is, but I saw a picture of
her?out of the corner of my eye implying it.
I got spoiled on Clannad like that too, and honestly it made it way worse convincing myself I had misread the spoiler, only to slowly realize that I hadn't and shit was going to happen.
>>88783215 here. Naoto just finished off the reaper with a regular attack when most of the party was dead. Fuck everything.
Will Liz throw a bitchfit if I equip Omnipotent Orb for the last battle with her?
I dont care if its not what we expected nothing gona stop meeeeeeeeeee
What's Protag has the best design / is the coolest in the series?, What MC's Persona has the best design?, Which are your favorites all around?
My top five for each:
>Izanagi / Izanagi-no-Okami
Overall Tatsuya and Apollo are my favorites.
Maia and Athena are the only good looking protag personas, and Aigis was the only good protag.
Tatsuya was only good in EP, and Maya was only good in IS.
Piercy is inoffensively boring.
MC was just boring.
and Yu is offensively way too perfect and pandered to. Textbook shitty harem protag.
Ill never understand why people cling to the protags, but I want to blame Japan somehow.
>muh self inserts
>Ill never understand why people cling to the protags
Geez, anon, i don't know
Maybe because they were made to project yourself onto them so you could immerse yourself better into the story
I think Tatsuya was good in IS too, that his design and dialogue options give way for your intuition and guess what he's like, but I get your point.
Maya on the other hand was the result of poor decision-making. If she already had a personality you can't simply strip it away, it makes little sense and feels forced and unnatural.
Not him but I insert better when the dude I control has a personality.
Sure, give me dialogue choices, I love 'em, but there's no reason why you can't both have an MC with a personality and certain control over how he interacts with other characters and the story.
Hey Junpei can you make me a sandwich?
bad wording, I know why its just I dont understand why people like that.
Im with this guy >>88787381
Self inserting in video games is great, but only if its a custom character with choices to make, or if its a well thought out character I can identify with.
the silent bland nobody doesnt do anything for me.
Ill give Tatsuya credit for being important to the plot, but not too central too it. The backstory with him and Maya and the other shrine kids was great.
>first extra boss
>they spend the entire fight alternating between getting put to sleep by sleeper punch and getting smacked by zionga and I pretty much get a free Clotho.
Why is Chie so based in this game?
Sorry, Lisa edit's much better.
Now how the hell would you know what's on /r/megaten?
Is it a suprise? All the top rated content on r/megaten are just regurgitated persona maymays coming from here or deviant art
look for yourself
I got Chie with Rakshasa. The extra damage thing + the 2 hit attack absolutely decimates shadows
Best P4 girl
I don't have a 3DS for PQ
Chie isnt my waifu.
Chie is still an absolute cutie
That's just about every fandom related subreddit ever. It's a mix of "hey check out this cosplay i did", "check out this hastily drawn piece of fanart", "hey guys epik meme lelelelel." I'm not even one to just categorically trash everything on that place (like mostly everywhere there are gems if you know where to look) but fandom subreddits are generally just terrible and should be avoided.
Anthony's request quest.
The kind I like the most is the one that has a great, worked out personality but also several relevant (and many small) decisions that get you in that "What would I do in his place dude?" Kind of mindser
Shinto mostly I think, which is a Japan native thing. Buddhism probably plays a part too.
also God isnt a Christian only thing
I think it's naive to assume that he was a virgin before coming to Inaba. He also has the manliest features out of all the Persona protagonists.
You wanna take this outside?
Its the sentiment that counts anyway.
and also the reference to her arcana
My brother goes to /fa/ and apparently it's just like /v/ but with clothes. I can understand women giving each other shit for their clothes or their sense of style, but it's extremely gay when men start doing it to each other.
>Shinto is the largest religion in Japan, practiced by nearly 80% of the population, yet only a small percentage of these identify themselves as "Shintoists" in surveys. This is due to the fact that "Shinto" has different meanings in Japan: most of the Japanese attend Shinto shrines and beseech kami without belonging to an institutional "Shinto" religion, and since there are no formal rituals to become a member of folk "Shinto", "Shinto membership" is often estimated counting those who join organised Shinto sects.
Yes, there's drugs for that if you're rich
Or you can get in an accident of some sort
Still not as bad as her hands earlier on, so whatever.
No, I like Lover's girls, but Rise a shit
I was going for Chie but hey, their pretty much the canon ship right? (Fuck Marie)
Rise > Yukari = Lisa
Ucaree is the best character in 3.
Risa is the best character in IS.
Rise is the best character in anything ever
The obligatory P5 lovers has got a lot to live up too
Shes so imperfectly perfect.
Shes too perfect for P4
Nope. Can't wait to have Marie as my navigator.
Im so indifferent to Marie
She lashes out, and she's tender on the inside. Those who could see through to love her would reap rewards.
P4 has overall more good boys, but P3 has the best boy.
P3 has overall more good girls, but P4 has the best girl.
For Perfect Girl!
Also I'm at the Inaba Pride Parade is that the last labyrinth or is there one more?
>You will never have a 5'3" fig of Aigis
I...did not realize she might be doing that. I was thinking about getting her, but her voice is so bad. The stupid jokes though
Also the 3DS theme is out already, it's pretty good
Best Persona game.
Well, I've got enough money already on my account right now for 2 navigators, and I'm sure as fuck not getting Theo. I might end up taking the bullet and getting Margaret anyway, if no one else has yet.
Arena and Ultimax are only worth it if you like fighting games, apart from that the story is shit so don't bother.
PQ is very fun, story is basically a throwaway, but the combat and fan service interactions between the P3/P4 cast are nice to see. It's worth it to play even just one side, so P3 for you.
>want to help Yuko with her future
>want to be Loyal to Fuuka
>can't do both
Fuck you ATLUS
>Arena or Arena Ultimax worth it?
No. Unless you really like fighting games I don't see why you'd get it. The story is heavily P3/P4 but the storymode isn't considered that great.
PQ has better reception, it's a first person dungeon crawler and the gameplay is good. The story is alright. Most character interactions are fanservice, but it's entertaining fanservice.
I would suggest getting Arena and Ultimax if you like fighting games. If you are in it for the story then watch the videoes on youtube.
PQ is pretty fun. It's good that you played P3/4 elsewise it would be dumb to play it without knowing any of the characters or the story.
The worst thing Marie is does is yell and lash out when she's emotionally vulnerable because unlike the other girls she actually has a legitimate problem.
And unlike the others she never pushes you off a goddamn mountain or beats on you because THEY walked into the wrong bath
You've doubled my love for Marie and doubled my resolve to buy her DLC.

It's not that hard depending on the girl.
>not wanting a yandere gf
>because unlike the other girls she actually has a legitimate problem.
Okay, you have your tastes, opinions, etc. I don't even really hate Marie, but this is the point where we know the conversation has broken down.
>but this is the point where we know the conversation has broken down.
>WAAAA I DON'T WANT TO RUN MY INN! oh wait yes I do.
Is a huge issue when murders are afoot.
A lot of the characters in the game have crappy arcs, it's not just the girls
I might fetishize them, but I would never want to date one for real. A little bedroom roleplay would be fine for me.
>WAAAA I DON'T WANT TO RUN MY INN! oh wait yes I do.
That annoyed me so much. I get that it was different because she decided to run the inn on her own terms and not because of others wanting her to, but something about it just never felt right to me, even though Yukiko's one of my favorite characters.

A person with amnesia is forced to develop a personality once again.
It can be interesting if they grow a very different personality than they used to have and then get the memories of how they where before.
Too bad that shit has been done over 2000 times in anime alone and more than half where shit attempts.
P4 and P1 teens minus Maki and probably Reiji and Nanjo had normal teen problems.
P2-3 kids were a different league of teen problems. Though it's obvious it all boils down to one thing:
>armpit stepdad fetish porn
what the fuck
Girl had major daddy issues, and not the good kind.
Anon, the point is we're here for a story, and if a chunk of the story is about Anonette's insecurity issues and how Player 1-Anon can help her through that by going on a date I guess and saying the supposed right thing instead of the obviously wrong thing well then that shit's boring.
Personafags don't like this shit because character development. They like it because it replaces the life they don't have.
so here's a question.
WHY didn't they just show Dojima TV world?
I mean yeah he might not believe them if they tell him but shove your head in the screen and that will open up a dialogue
Dojima's the sort of dumbass to take that sort of information to the feds. It's already bad enough that the government is well aware of persona users and shadows, we don't need them getting into the collective unconsciousness.
Let's be serious, it's not dangerous with them at all.
>I mean yeah he might not believe them
Dojima knows what's up.
Well then, Let's get dangerous.
He says that now, but the moment he sees a head go into the TV, he's alerting the Japanese FBI.
You're right, that would be the last thing on their mind. I can imagine Philemon sighing in huge relief when no one decided to demonstrate the TV thing to Dojima. What a bad batch of test humans, Phil.
>they're barely trying to solve the murder mystery
The whole TV thing is just their equivalent of hanging out after school because there's fuck all to do in Inaba. Like hell they're getting the police on their turf.
>He says that now, but the moment he sees a head go into the TV, he's alerting the Japanese FBI.
Are you going to back up your statement, or...?
Look Dojima is the sort of guy that would not handle supernatural shit well. He'll either go complete denial mode or when he finally does accept it, he's going to get bigger back up.
>Look Dojima is the sort of guy that would not handle supernatural shit well. He'll either go complete denial mode or when he finally does accept it, he's going to get bigger back up.
...keep spewing your headcanon?
and that's when HQ sends in their specialist
Has anyone here ever tried to come up with their own persona characters? Any general ideas?
I just marathonned through P3 and P4 for the first time a month ago and am loving the series. So...I've been doing this.
Yu comes clean to Dojima at the police station during questioning (presumably?) and Dojima denies it, which isn't surprising, but he turns around later when he asks Yu to save Nanako.
On the second-to-last day, Dojima mentions the TV world and personas, so he is aware of them, but he dismisses them -- even though with Nanako's retrieval there isn't a reason to say that Yu's explanation for how he's been saving people was wrong.
No I don't write fanfiction.
"Mr. Dojima, can I apply the penal code to shadows?"
>Has anyone here ever tried to come up with their own persona characters? Any general ideas?
I'm creating my own characters for a Persona fangame I'm planning to make in the future.
Where'd my picture go?
>tried to come up with their own persona characters
Deviantart as fuck. The most I've done is fucked around with tarot cards, which is a thing I've been interested in forever. I think I'm the Moon arcana, which is fine. It's got some pretty sweet personas in it.
His P1/DS1 design is great. I wish the series used it more.
>Yu comes clean to Dojima at the police station during questioning (presumably?) and Dojima denies it,
There's a difference between TELLING something outlandish and SHOWING it.
Of course he won't believe it if it's just words you need proof of that shit. Grab a TV from the break room and shove your damn hand in the screen.
I watched all of it and liked it. I hope it comes out on BD someday.
I watched the ainex fansubs and I heard the official subs by NISA make some stupid translations so don't use those.
I'm not that guy, I'm just saying that he doesn't deal with supernatural shit well. I'd say he's the kind of guy to just ignore it unless it was really shoved in his face.
Yeah there is. But by the end of the game he concedes that the case would make sense if Yu's confession was true, but is more willing to dismiss it all as something unexplainable.
This is the scene I'm thinking about.
Now that's an interesting guy to have for a Persona.
Amon-Ra's the one that his true self gives him, but if I had to make a comparison, it would sort of be like the Vulcanus Prime to Piercy's Seimen Kongou. In this analogy, Vishnu would be like Apollo, except whereas Apollo requires the Eagle Mask, Vishnu requires the Avatara.
Vishnu's the one that appears alongside him in all official art and is the strongest Emperor Persona, so most fans consider it his true ultimate.
>I'd say he's the kind of guy to just ignore it unless it was really shoved in his face.
so shove it in his face.
Take him to the room the newslady was killed in. Boom all the evidence. Mystery over in like a weekend
I never bothered to get Vishnu considering how shit he was for the hard work you had to put for it.
I suppose your reasoning makes sense though, I do recall seeing Vishnu a lot in the official art, especially on the cover of the original game.
Do you think he'd call his senpai for help? I like to think that Baofu was that senpai.
>Mystery over in like a weekend
I'd say the even if Dojima accepted that supernatural circumstances were the reason behind the case, and that Adachi was the one to do it, he'd still have to explain this all to the rest of the police station and later the court.
I mean I guess you could get someone on the IT to shove their hand in in front of the rest of the police as well and then get interrogated to hell and back. To absolutely confirm the IT's testimony would require going into the TV as well. Unless Adachi gets beaten up by the power of friendship and bonds, he doesn't confess, which means the thing has to be dealt with purely through beaurocracy. And I guess you have someone put themselves into a TV before the court. It all sounds like a bit of a drag.
The IT only remember the Yamano thing in December anyway, and Dojima's out of commission by then.
>The IT only remember the Yamano thing in December anyway, and Dojima's out of commission by then.
They are the worst detectives ever. They really should have been coming the whole damn world for clues
Instead what we got was
>Oh ___ is exhausted let's get out of here for now. AND NEVER COME BACK!
you know that also something that bugs me.
With all the killings and kidnappings you'd think the town would be a bit more a buzz. Inaba is a small ass burg. This shit should have been a bigger deal.
They could have had the npcs grow colder and more distant as the year went on to really show how this shit was affecting them
>They are the worst detectives ever.
Yeah they're pretty bad.
Though they're working the whole time on the assumption that the kidnapper is the killer so they only ever bother to ask the kidnapees about the kidnapping. Not asking Yukiko about Yamano was a huge mistake when everyone knew she was staying at the inn.
Though I guess if the IT ever made any headway it'd blow the story up.
They kind of do this, but the angle is more that Inaba gets really excited about whatever's happening at the present moment and forgets about everything else. By December everyone's forgotten about the murders because they didn't actually care, they just rode off the media high. I'm not sure the kidnappings were every publically announced as such (just unexplained absences). Something about the petty nature of man.
>Though they're working the whole time on the assumption that the kidnapper is the killer so they only ever bother to ask the kidnapees about the kidnapping.
well there's that but cops also check out the crime scene too. The culprit could have left any number of clues behind for all they knew.
Fuck Adachi could have dropped his wallet by Rise's pole stage and they'd have missed it
>Adachi could have dropped his wallet by Rise's pole stage
No he couldn't.
Because Adachi didn't push Rise into the television.
Seriously though the best they're going to get accidentally dropped in there would have been a chloroform rag.
What I'd want to know is how Namatame got access to chloroform. Can you just buy it or something in Japan?
>Not the point. They where lazy
But don't they also fight bosses in that room? That's going to mess shit up.
You're right that they didn't bother to check the scene when they should've and that they're shitty detectives, but I doubt it would've helped anyway.
I think the larger problem is that for the most part the only people who got tossed into the TV where people who joined your party.
There needed to be more... "failures" for want of a better term. People the IT couldn't save. Just a few NPC people here and there to hike up the stakes.
Nametame was shoving people based on TV appearances and well a lot of people appear on TV, even locally
>but I doubt it would've helped anyway.
No but the act of doing it would make them look less retarded.
Just have the party split and go stand in spots staring at the wall for you to talk too. They give their own colorful takes on what transpired and then you leave
this shit ain't hard
>There needed to be more... "failures" for want of a better term. People the IT couldn't save. Just a few NPC people here and there to hike up the stakes.
But then there wouldn't be a reason for Namatame to keep "saving" people.
>Nametame was shoving people based on TV appearances
No, he was shoving them based on the Midnight Channel appearances.
Did you even play the game mate
Also he was shoving people in based on the midnight channel. The midnight channel is operated by whatever/whoever is the biggest talk of the town at the time, what people most want to see or know about. It just so happens that that's always going to be the same thing as the biggest news story.
Yeah. But they never say they do that to check the crime scene for clues. Rise/Teddie will just say 'there's a powerful shadow, go get rid of it! why is it there?' so they go to kill the shadow.
The boss room of each dungeon
>give their own colorful takes on what transpired
GEE IT LOOKS LIKE RISE-CHAN WAS THROWN INSIDE A TELEVISION!
I get what you mean though. It would have been nice to see at least once.
>But then there wouldn't be a reason for Namatame to keep "saving" people.
See that's a problem in and of itself.
Adachi tells Nametame to save people by tossing them into the TV.
He does so thinking he's helping but the whole thing revolves around Adachi knowing you'll turn around and save them.
First couple of times he has no reason to think this and as time goes on he has less reason to want you too.
>First couple of times he has no reason to think this
He wasn't counting on anyone saving the victims, he was counting on them dying and driving Namatame insane.
>and as time goes on he has less reason to want you too.
>First couple of times he has no reason to think this and as time goes on he has less reason to want you too.
What do you mean?
Namatame deludes himself into thinking the TV is safe because he sees Yukiko on it looking pretty in her kimono and wants to think he can help someone somehow. He's still reeling with the loss of Mayumi and is trying to stop others from getting murdered even before he starts shoving them in the television (ie, Saki). Adachi knows this and nudges Namatame to help out by putting them in the television, basically doing his work for him without any risk to himself.
Since Yukiko comes back safe Namatame believes that he's right and the TV is safe, so he keeps doing it.
>Adachi has no reason for you to want to save people
It's funny, it's low-risk compared to shoving people in himself, and he's bored. He didn't know the IT would save the first person so he was probably just expecting for Namatame to do it and fall even deeper into a hilarious despair. But he was fine with the IT becoming a ragtag rescue group as well and was willing to just stand by and watch them as entertainment instead. That's even more fulfilling than just getting a one-off on Namatame.
>Since Yukiko comes back safe Namatame believes that he's right and the TV is safe, so he keeps doing it.
right. and all it takes is one fuck up or botched rescue on your end and the whole game comes crashing apart.
There never really is a "crime scene." No one even knew where people were being kidnapped until Naoto joins. As for inside the TV. I guess you wanted the dungeons to have more of an adventure game segment to look for clues that weren't there in the original?
>I guess you wanted the dungeons to have more of an adventure game segment to look for clues that weren't there in the original?
That would be pretty sweet honestly but no, Id just be happy with.
>Spread out and look for clues gnag
>Party members walk of and stare at a wall till you talk to them all
>Dang didn't find anything.
All I want is a bit more effort being focused on the actual mystery. The way it gets resolved isn't the climax to a game of guess who it's a game of "we ran out of named characters"
>all it takes is one fuck up or botched rescue on your end and the whole game comes crashing apart.
Like, is Adachi meant to do something about that?
He's fine just watching the IT do their thing, so he doesn't have a reason to interfere. And I can't think of a better way to have a hands-off self-perpetuating almost-murder machine going than what Adachi's got with Namatame. If the IT fuck up then he gets a quick laugh and then has to come up with a way to get more people in there when he gets bored again, by himself, which is riskier.
>No one even knew where people were being kidnapped until Naoto joins
No, the IT knew people were getting kidnapped somewhere near their own homes since Yukiko. Naoto just adds the details that the kidnapper is male, using chloroform, and working alone.
>I guess you wanted the dungeons to have more of an adventure game segment to look for clues that weren't there in the original?
No. I'd rather just a quick line or two of 'well should we look for clues' 'sure' 'huh i didn't find anything'. I don't think they'd ever be able to find evidence in the bossrooms/TV.
>Like, is Adachi meant to do something about that?
well given he's for all intents the primary antagonist and this was all his plan..YES.
After 50 hours of game time it's rather anti climactic and disappointing to have the villain reveal his motivations where nothing more than "yeah it was funny"
Yukiko mentions that she last remembered being in her backyard or something, Kanji remembered being in/around his house. Don't remember the exact details but it they were all saying that they last remembered being near their homes before getting kidnapped.
Well his plan is that he's bored and wants entertainment. That's what it is.
Call it anti-climactic and disappointing if you found it anti-climactic and disappointing.
It happens sometimes
This happens a lot
I only talk about my waifu when the thread is dead and there's nothing else to do
PQ brought in more game discussion, which means less waifus
Not that i mind, discussing these kinds of things is pretty entertaining too
ATLUS needs to get better writers
Am I crazy, or do they use Rise's Japanese nickname in PQ and call her Risecchi instead Risette? I wonder why they decided to change it.
Mutatsu is one of my favorite Social Links. He really knows what he's talking about it.
>Well his plan is that he's bored and wants entertainment. That's what it is.
>Call it anti-climactic and disappointing if you found it anti-climactic and disappointing.
and I did. Because for a 50 hour game that's stupid
>I wonder why they decided to change it.
Same reason they went with the Yucatan and Chidorita. ATLUS usa doesn't think gaijin audience will understand Japanese honorifics and name corruptions if it's not -san, -chan, -kun, or -sensei.
>ATLUS usa doesn't think gaijin audience will understand Japanese honorifics and name corruptions
I know that. I meant why they decided to change it back to Risecchi instead of Risette.
I think the time between P3's release and P4's may have not been enough. I feel like P4 took the easy route in terms of story and making characters.
I remember hearing that the Japanese didn't think P4 was canon to the Persona world because it was so different.
>ATLUS usa doesn't think gaijin audience will understand Japanese honorifics and name corruptions
I think it's less UNDERSTAND and simply more they won't like them.
Cuz even in P3/4 hearing all the sans and sempais was just stupid sounding in english
Completely misunderstood you.
Yeah, I don't know.
They kept Kanamin though. I think that one sounds ok.
>because it was so different.
Probably means the happy tone it has. It really doesn't match with P1, P2, and P3 in terms of happiness.
How was P4 such a huge success? I mean I like the game, but when I read the reviews, I can't see the "incredible story" or the "fascinating characters" that all the critics talk about
Not to mention the user reviews are insanely high as well
It sounds kinda weird to me, but that's just because I'm not used to it. I'd rather they just use what it's supposed to. It also makes Rise's line about "They call me 'Risette' and stuff and then turn around and treat me like a kid" make a whole lot more sense.
"Risette" is more cutesy, and does sound better to me as an English speaker, but knowing that her actual nickname is supposed to imply perviness and sexuality tells a lot more about her job as an idol than "Risette" does.
I'm more curious as to whether or not Namatame would've had a third version of Izanami, and if it would've had a "holy" theme to it.
I guess the easy answer is that it's happy and panders with self-insertion and friends. It's probably also the right answer.
I don't really understand it myself and I'm a pretty strong P4fag. I wouldn't call the characters deep but I did find them interesting and liked them. One thing I really liked was the attention to detail in the setting, designs, NPCs ect. It's pretty cohesive.
For the record I don't get why people like P3 so much either. The P3 plot/setting/characters don't interest me as much.
>Namatame would've had a third version of Izanami
Izanagi. Yeah probably.
The overall tone of P1 isn't overly saccharine though. P4's light-hearted the whole way through until Nanako dies.
>Izanagi. Yeah probably.
Whoops. I was about to correct that when your post came up. I figure it makes sense, since Narukami and Adachi both have him, and all three got their personas the same way. I'd have liked it if he could have joined the team to help you out, but there's no way at all that would be possible.
Ippon-Datara is my husbando. I kinda want an NPC or party member to have him as their persona, but I'm worried they'd re-design him for that.
I think "deep" is one of those nearly meaningless terms, but in the context used here I couldn't really call any of the games or casts deep.
If you like the games, it ud probably just because you identified with or liked the cast or the story and that's all I think you need.
Well of course they'd redesign him, but just for whatever game he's Mitsuo's Persona. Izanami went back to normal in later stuff.
He'd probably have that 'Mitsuo the Hero' clothing coloration, maybe some more vidya style themes.
I think she vaguely knows that Fuuka and SEES saved her, but I don't think she knows the finer details like about shadows and personas. I'm pretty sure most of her memories of that night are gone.
>I couldn't really call any of the games or casts deep.
well I think the problem with 4 is that people seem to think that given a character an issue is enough even though the narrative does almost nothing with it and it's resolved faster than it's brought up.
>oh this dungeon represents Kanji's gay side he's gay that's so deep.
When he's not even fucking gay, and that aside the narrative has nothing to do with this.
He's afraid of people thinking he's a fag and what? That's it. That's the end of it.
Yeah. I liked those things too.
Overall I feel like P4 is pretty grounded in a way that appeals to me. Outside of the supernatural stuff, the strangest thing is Naoto being a cross-dressing detective at 16.
That honestly isn't really any different thsn the other games though. I think it works in 4 for me because they're not problems I expect a major resolution from. I expect Kanji to grapple with that for a long time. Real social and mental problems don't heal fast or easily, so I was okay with no big resolution at the end.
I really wish they'd talked a little more about the fact that, not only is Kanji afraid of people making fun of him for his "girly" hobbies, but he also fell hard for someone he was pretty certain was a guy. He's also shown attraction to women, so I don't think he's gay, more somewhere in the middle, and it would've been nice for them to mention that.
More than that, though, I wish they'd done, well, anything at all with Chie's controlling nature after her dungeon. For how much they talk about how in control of Yukiko's life she was, I don't think she really acted like it after her dungeon. I think she changed too fast, and I'd have liked to have seen her try to be controlling of Yukiko, and even other party members and NPCs, longer as she takes time to learn to let go and stop trying to make their choices for them.
Most games at least interweave the characters story's into the main narrative and resolve it over the course of the story.
P4 introduces a problem and then resolves it just to get it out of the way. That's a problem because once it's all done with the characters default to a one note gimmick.
It's like the game doesn't want to focus on its characters anymore than it has too and as a result it all feels rather shallow
>He's afraid of people thinking he's a fag and what? That's it. That's the end of it.
The main cast's character development all gets shoved into the social link instead of the main narrative. I really don't know why they did this, because it means the characters have to be shot into a point of their development and are stuck there for the rest of the game. The narrative can't know what rank of development the SL is on to make the characters act accordingly. Take Naoto, you have to go out of the way to start it and even in her first four ranks of SL she's chilly but at the same time in the narrative she's a lot more open. Eventually the SL catches up to the narrative but comparing her before and after her dungeon would almost give you whiplash with how different her behaviour is.
I think overall the SLs do a decent job of poking the issues that get brought up by their shadow, but the narrative doesn't do the same thing. If you want a somewhat cynical reasoning for that you could say that they don't want the characters to get in conflict with each other at all so they all just get shot up to a point where they're most open to banter. You could also say that it's just hard to do considering that most of the narrative scenes that aren't 'who could the killer be? someone got thrown in the tv again!' are comedy scenes.
I think the way they handled that was pretty lame overall though.
this thread is why waifu discussion is superior to game discussion. the plots for all of these games are illogical and discussions about consistency is so beyond autism it hurts.
meanwhile waifu discussion gets to the core of what makes these games even remotely worthwhile and is lighthearted enough to generate good fun posts.
we do not want autists screaming at each other about why they didn't take pictures of the tv world or whatever.
it's terribly executed presentation of character development. much as this guy >>88814381
said, the episodic "shadow of the week" is beyond poor writing. no need to derp a wall of text over very simple issues.
I don't think she does. They explain it later, but I'll spoiler text it here if you don't give a shit.
The shadows call out to someone who'll be their next victim. That person is able to experience the Dark Hour, but only so that they can come to where the shadow is.
People are actually discussing plot now instead of their shitty waifus. I'm surprised. /pg/ has come a long way.
You're retarded if you think waifu discussion > game discussion. This is a GAME, therefore, it should be discussed. Waifu shitposting comes second, as it should be, but dumbasses like you think that waifu shitposting is the le ebin best thing ever xddd.
>Mitsuru: we can't bring her (natsuki) here, and making one of us stay was out of the question
That is exactly what they did in the Movie tho
I already P3 a year ago, but my PC died and I'm replaying it now
I forgot about a lot of stuff
If you're gonna waifufag post, you better post shit like "If you kissed the persona 3 + 4 girls, what would it feel like/how skilled at it would they be?"
or "What do you think the cocks of the persona 3 and 4 guys are like/what would (heterosexual) sex with them be like?"
I don't know if this is true considering how rumor obsessed the MT fandom is, but I heard that Natsuki was supposed to be a playable character. Basically the hama user but was replaced by Ken.
>replaced by Ken.
Every time. He always ruins shit.
>I forgot about a lot of stuff
I know that feel. Carry on, then.
If that's true, I'd have preferred if they kept Natsuki. Fuck Ken. Even beyond him getting Shinji killed, I don't care for him. Natsuki's way more interesting.
but the plot is literal shit and very basic. how retarded do you have to be to actually discuss these things?
>larger problem is that for the most part the only people who got tossed into the TV where people who joined your party.
uh no shit because tossing into the tv = tell a story about this guy and they dont have space to tell that many.
>I really wish they'd talked a little more about the fact that, not only is Kanji afraid of people making fun of him for his "girly" hobbies,
LOL they are not actually engaging gender issues you retard. homolust is not a plot point it is just a pandering point with fujoshits. it's not like japan has any sort of enlightened view of homosexuality to bother with a non caricature description.
all of your 'plot discussions' are basically retarded. please don't do it
but the only thing interesting in these games are the waifus. are you seriously going to discuss p3 metaphysiccs or p4 plot? these are very simple, linear constructs generating cheap drama and whatnot. if you want to discuss plot and writing do it for something that actually has them. it's like saying twilight or game of thrones discussions would be improved by avoiding shipping. they are what they are, entertaining set of fetish characters set within some random fuckall world.
Good job /pg/
get this tumblr shit outta here
