So, you see the joke too?
Still. 10/10 Reason.
>Still. 10/10 Reason.
Yes, I see the joke.
>There is nothing good about dying to some random encounter because of shitty luck or because Walter or Jonathan went full retard and used a move they shouldn't have. There is also nothing good about every single boss fight in the game ending before you feel like they've even begun.
The fast paced combat is pretty much my favorite gameplay element in SMTIV. I disliked the new fusion system (due to no Mitamas) though.
I did enjoy the overall story and world direction though, returning to humans attempting to survive among demons and such, rather than just the demon worlds from Nocturne and Strange Journey.
Is there something like a story synopsis for SMT1? Combat being so easy "broken" (zio, nerve bullets etc.) ruins everything for me, but I still want to know what transpires in the game so that I can get maximum satisfaction out of SMT2.
>It's too easy
>But I still want to know what happens
>Not blazing through it for maximum firsthand experience
You're worse than a casual. Go look at the wiki.
Implying it matters. You just get to see "Hero: Died alone in a cave" and that's about it. Maybe a few jokes like getting High Pixie instead of Pixie, and getting Kalki instead of Vishnu in order to show that there has been a passage of time since the first game.
SMT2 doesn't reference SMT1 much at all but if you really want to know:
>america, controlled by god, wants to nuke japan
>some chaosfag in response uses demons to take over japan since the military refuses to fight back against america
>you're some kid in the middle of all this, who got the demon summmoning program via email from STEVEN
>you meet with law hero and chaos hero, your mother is killed by a demon
>you meet with your waifu, trying to stop the nuking and the chaosfag's invasion
>you fail, japan is nuked but you and your buds survive due to your waifu's powers
>you awaken in nuked japan 30 years later
>lawfags and chaosfags are in all-out war
>chaos hero fuses with a demon and goes full retard
>law hero is killed by a demon but is brought back by god and is implied to be brainwashed into full retard
>waifu does whatever you do
>lawfags build a gigantic cathedral to summon god, chaosfags want to take it over as a monument to the ancient gods
>chaosfags invade cathedral
>the founder of taoism leads you to the cathedral
>god floods japan, killing everyone who wasn't in the cathedral
>you fuck up chaosfags and lawfags
>you kill law and chaos heroes
>yaaaay neutral end, humanity gets to live independantly and prosper fuck yeah, and you get to play adam and eve with your waifu
>oh woops, after you die the lawfags take power, chaosfags are oppressed, and SMT2 happens
I'm leaving out a lot of details but that's the gist.
Once again proving the japs haven't done anything original since 0079
I've been away for a while. /smtg/ was one of the places that was really pushing the "ME is Nyarlathotep" theory. How'd you guys take the reveal?
They wasted a perfectly good character, using a crap wannabe version instead.
Cheer up, anon. Think of it this way.
You have fond memories of Nyarlathotep, don't you? Would you really want Ultimax's godawful writing to taint those memories?
Persona's writing is a joke. I feel bad for the people who are still trying to piece the continuity together.
At this point, I have no expectations of P5 at all. I don't know if I even want to get it.
I wonder what Hashino will do when he finally runs out of things to rip off from old Persona.
Yeah. To be fair, Nocturne was pretty terrible with mythological references, with most entities just getting random roles.
Kagutsuchi especially was a really random choice for world building god.
Destroying pol just looks good externally.
In reality it just makes pol shit embed in other boards.
also testing new captcha shit
>I'm not a robot
Wait, what's the point of a not being a robot checkbox if you still have to do it every time?
>4chan pass money
This interface is more obtuse anyway.
Oh my God, /pol/ became the very definition of chaos, Lucifer has finally conquered poll.
I'm about to try to get a friend to play SMT2.
Which patch was the best one again? Is it Odren or Neo whatever his name?
They are a Fire Emblem fan.
>Friendly to lower level players
>Cool unique animation in the 3d games
>Husband isn't the coolest, but still is one of the most cosmic of the hindu gods, aside from the quasi abstract Brahman.
Well, the odd prevalence of Hindu goddesses might make me wonder if they might take consorts if they felt like it. Their husbands are too busy anyway and probably can't say shit as long as they still get dicking priority.
But in the actual context, I doubt they would ever touch another man because they're supposed to be infallible examples of socially acceptable gender ideals. The goddesses would be pure for their hubbies in order to teach women that it's expected of them too.
Is being forced to reincarnate into worlds destined to end really much of a punishment if you can't remember the last time it happened?
I've been trying to make posts here all day but captchas weren't loading correctly on /vg/ up until half an hour ago. I'm not the only who had this issue so expect the thread to pick up speed once more posters realize that the problem has been fixed.
You tell me. You're the one going through it.
No, not as a rule that is stated in exposition. Just an assumption. Why bother if it doesn't make him suffer? Aleph or not, I still think there was that bit with Hijiri where he realized every that he could have done, but only just before Isamu kills him.
If parents can pass down fears to their children, what makes you think something as supernature as a soul can't transfer memories?

will be able to turn off the display by pressing the remove the top.
Looks like the archive of some old nip SMT fansite.
That looks cool as fuck.
saucenao points me to this guy, but they seem to have deleted their MegaTen.
Good thing you posted this so I could save it.
I wasn't the one that posted it, but can we be comrades anyway?
>implying we're not, despite all being in /smtg/
>implying being comrades doesn't already make us friends
Now if you had a Skype? Maybe.
I want to see Game Grumps plqy DDS just to see them fuck up a lot and tye cringe
>they wouldn't know they could devour enemies to fill your Mantra faster until halfway through the game and someone had to tell them
>watching people play games
>not playing yourself
I will never understand you, faggots.
Did you ever watch your older brother or anyone else play vidya when you were younger? It's kinda like that. Watching someone play fun vidya and talking about it. It's cozy. I really don't know how to describe it. I'm not big into the LP thing, but streams are nice because you can talk in real time to the person playing, tell them hints, see them react to things for the first time. SMT specifically, see real time bullshit RNG and bond with other people laughing over the same shit.
I don't watch LPs much at all, but when I do it's because I really enjoyed the game and want to see somebody else experience it. For this reason I can only watch when the player is going in blind, and I've already played it.
Like some sort of video game experience vampire clinging to a game I can never play for the first time ever again.
Watching E-celebs play a game you haven't played yourself is shit though.
The only time I watch full LPs are if I'm interested and don't plan on playing it myself (aka I'm scared easily), or if I already watched it. Informative ones can be interesting too, but they're really hit or miss. There's this Deus Ex one I really liked.
>Arin talking over dialogue and making shitty impressions
>Danny missing important stuff that's directly in front of him
>Both of them showing no interest in the game whatsoever so any jokes made are shit
>Little to no progression whatsoever
Please god no.
