I'm not familiar with FE myself but I have wondered that. Are the FE heroes that varied in alignments for a crossover to work? Would IS approve of making a game where they all kill each other in a serious setting? Shit, I really need to try out that series sometime.
I don't think SMT x FE is going to have the traditional SMT cliches in it. It'll probably be a composite of SMT and FE elements. It's not called SMT Featuring characters from the Fire Emblem series or anything.
Some guy posted a video with that picture you used, and I remember ZTW commenting with something sarcastic. I wasn't the guy you were talking with originally, btw.
While that is true I do hope there is some sort of alignment system since it's such a big thing to SMT, even if it doesn't work exactly like it does in the series.
I get the feeling one reason why it's taking so long for any info to come out is because they're trying to figure out how to make all the elements mesh.
I think they'll have to play around with SMT's alignments a bit. The closest thing FE has to SMT's constant alignment/passion vs order etc philosophy is the political conflict elements imo so maybe tie that in.
Look at it this way; Marth is a character who needs to lead (whether it be a ragtag army or a country), but he is unwilling to make the sacrifices necessary to do so efficiently (he tries to avoid letting any of his soldiers die, which certain characters such as his sister mention as being weakpoints he has to overcome if he wants to be a good king). He's high up in the hierarchy and he wants to stay there most likely, but that's because he wants to help people as ruler.
With these in mind, I'd make him Light-Law. He wants to keep a hierarchy but he wouldn't be willing to go the lengths of genocide etc the angels so often advocate.
They'd have to play around with each character's nuances to make them work imo, but it COULD work.
-There are two routes, one where you play as Flynn, and one where you play as Lucina. (You name both of them, and whoever you choose will be a silent character)
-It will play like a traditional mainline SMT game with Press Turn and dungeon crawling
-It takes place in modern Tokyo. The Amala Network is involved
-If you choose Flynn, it will take place in the middle of SMT IV's story, if you choose Lucina, it will take place after the sacifice ending
-all characters will have significant importance
Drakengard will be a better choice for a crossover with SMT.

I imagine the likes of Kaneko and whoever is the higher up for FE are hammering out story ideas, themes etc. What should the conflict be, how should they contrast the series etc. Gameplay is probably being developed already but I think story side of things will be where most of the work needs to be done.
Persona would be more interesting.
>getting to kill all of those stupid kids.
>Persona x Awakening
>breed the perfect soldiers by hanging out with highschoolers and social linking with them
>waifus waifus waifus
>dungeons consist of randomly generated boring babby shit that all has the same objective of "seize the end point" and "route the enemies"
>atlus and IS make millions of dollars
Whatever. I still think the reasonable assumption is, for whatever reason, Kaneko doesn't really care about mainline anymore.
Sega/Atlus cares more about Persona and undercuts any potential for mainline and other spin-offs, or it's just not as fun without Cozy, or he's just bored with it finally. Whatever.
He was doing art for these Jiken books, and the cover for that gay cop thing, but I haven't seen any evidence that he's up to anything. If he actually is leaving Megaten behind him, I still want to see him continue to do art for something.
I don't remember his twitter.

We already know the crossover came from a "Fire Emblem in modern times" idea so you're not very convincing.
So glad we have you around to keep thread quality up. That was an informative and thoughtful post.
You have such sterling intuition, fellow anon. And such a biting wit too!
Why are you asking? You want to stick that sack in your asshole lawboy?
I wanted to make a video review of an SMT game-- probably SJ. Is that something /smtg/ would want to see? I don't know, I feel like it'd be useless since you all know about the game's already.
If yes, how do I mash up all that vidya footage to get what I need to for the review? Should I do a formal review with a mashup of footage, or should I review while playing?
Don't go with a review as if you're describing a product, and assuming that your opinion matters in a quasi-academic sense.
Do something like, being honest about how you experienced the game, giving people heads up on what to expect if they were interested. If you're just going to be another meaningless voice talking about an old game, you may as well be honestly subjective about it.
Quieres pelear, vato? Tu y el gringo ese me la pelan ese.
So in Sector Grus, you have that big alignment moment necessary to get to Maya. How significant of a bump is it in either direction? I have EX Missions saved on the top floor of Eridanus for something like this, so I may as well side with
Jimenezfor now. The worst that could happen is that I just decide to knock off the chaos ending in my first playthrough.
Both options are equally shitty, but Jack's Squad knew the risks.

That needs to be bannable.
Janitors are nerds
SMT is forever
I challenge my fate

Jack's Squad were a bunch of assholes anyway.
There's always the Goblin in Sector A.
So how the fuck do I save Keisuke? He seems to die in everyone of my playhroughs
Remember how you were able to help Mari with her vampire problem? Well, you need to give the stuff she needs to Kaido instead, so that way he'll be distracted and not show up to incinerate Keisuke.
Thanks man, giving the bag to Kaido didn't even cross my mind,
or maybe something in the back of my mind just wanted him to die everytime
>Don't side with Noaya
Hey man, I only said I wanted him to live, not give up the best ending so he could be in my party
Don't worry, most people (like myself) think or thought that giving the bag to Mari would do the trick, thinking that Kaido would rush to Mari's side anyway. Turns out he needed that little extra push before he'd willingly play hero like that.
As disappointing as SMT4's dungeons were, did anyone walk into Purgatorium and go "Holy shit this is awesome."?
That was probably one of the cooler end dungeon's I've seen in vidya. Not necessarily complicated, but yeah. Makes me wish we could see SJ on SMT4's engine. Imagine those sectors rendered in actual 3D graphics.
i wasted money on three games, shopped with a friend, and had her almost have a breakdown due to shit family + holiday stress.
i was gonna play persona 2 but im tired and dont want to think
so pretty shitty day but not the worst
Was there a way to know which doors led to a boss in the first room? I must've spent half an hour just being teleported back and forth without fighting any of the bosses.
