I just don't get the appeal of physical builds.
Sure, damage potential may in the end be higher but you lose out on dank charged Megidolaons, infinite MP through Drain and barely any demons have weaknesses to physical.
More along the lines of Leo as Jimenez, and Robert Downey Jr. as Evil Tony Stark a.k.a. Captain Jack.

Demons don't resist almighty either.
It is also fun to vaporize things with your charged almighty spells.

Also don't forget that light in SMT iznogood, but rather represents how the people feel and treat the demon, wether they praise and revere or curse and fear them.
Thus, it stands to reason that fiends would be considered as 'Dark' by all means.

You forget loads of demons are weak to those in final dungeons and late game places...

MP is never really an issue as long as you also have Drain.
Then you can have a -dyne (or two) for bosses.
I still think it's super misleading to let you put points into magic and int even if you can't cast magic and never will be able to. what was even the point? SH is guilty of this too.
If I can remember this correctly, I think INT helps with negotiations in SMT. The original, at least. Magic is also magic defense in DDS, but I doubt it's the same so far down the line. I dunno
It has that effect in the older games too, apparently. But it's so pointless compared to int.

It's not that I want him to keep doing demons forever, but after seeing some of the designs of IV - not all of which were bad, but some were insanely questionable - I'm not sure that a change of hands is safe. Not yet anyway.
I do find myself tired of seeing the same Spriggan, Rakshasa, and so on sprites.
Reusing his ANCIENT Matador design in SJ really bothered me because Matador had been escalated to popularity after Nocturne.
I'd like another game using the PS2 models to be honest.
