Now this thread is about Canon
Like planting your lips on a bowl of crab and ramen
you would get
I don't want to be cyclone uppered
well that didnt work at all
i switched it to preset 1 and gave her blue hair.
think these are good stats for the detective prince?
Take one from Charisma and put it in Perception
Take four from Agility and put it in Perception
Take two from endurance and put it in Perception
She put herself in there
Hide and seek is serious business
already got a hat. its not blue but its something
im gonna quit posting now muh immersion
I don't even have her bought so if so, something is up heh.
Also I think that was my closest game against your Labrys. You just have to play really patient because once you get momentum it can be over. Though I thought I was feeling input lag, I probably wasn't and I ain't DSP, gg.
okay NOW im done posting
I forget why I ever dropped Akihiko for Labrys
Time to rectify that
You're getting better
Stingray, I'm not sure if you already know, but you can hop during a chain in order to continue it if they're blocking. I usually do that, then after landing try for a grab, continue punch, or get out of there.
I've been taking a liking to Yukiko recently.
Thanks for the tip
When do we ever stop?
we've actually run out of stupid shit to talk about.
i never thought i'd see the day.
>Q is already out
>so is Ultimax
>Golden Animation was shit
>no news about the second P3 movie bluray or third movie at all
>last DAN trailer was two months ago and announced that it was delayed
>exact same for P5
We have yet to see all the cute scenes between the characters.
And then cry bitch tears over the ending because it's fucking sad and Changing Me isn't helping
The P3/P4 characters barely show any emotion while parting ways while Rei and Zen didn't grew on me enough to care that much.
It is kinda sad in a way, mostly because it's the end of the tale, but it is miles away from making me emotional enough to the point of crying.
Zen: “I will now embark to lead Rei… into ‘Eternity’.”
Zen: “All that lives returns there… Perhaps I, too, can return there, alongside Rei.”
Zen: “After all, as the ‘Chronos’ born from peoples wishes, I have already ceased to be.”
Zen: “Rei. Just as you have lived, I have lived as well. In this world, by your side.”
Zen: “I received my life from you. Tell me, have I lived with all my might?”
Zen: “Let us go… Philé.”
Rei: “Philé… That is what you called me back then…”
Zen: “It is your name.”
Zen: “…It means ‘my beloved’.”
Best love story ever told in Persona
>In actuality "Rei" is a mispronunciation of the second syllable of the Greek word "philé" meaning "friend", "beloved" or "lover". "Philé" was the name given to Niko by Chronos after she rejected her birthname for its demeaning meaning ("Niko" merely means "Second Child")
You must also be this guy (>>85355067). Listen I'm sorry we're interrupting your precious and very important waifu talk but being a contrarian cunt ain't gonna do anything about it.
No one is this stupid. I see what you're doing anon.
Can everyone here needs to shit on my waifu?
I'm kind of amazed at you, anon. Are you being serious or are you rusing?
Jesus fucking christ.
if the general died all the retards would get set loose
I said /fgg/fags because I had no idea how to call them. Besides people who are into fighting games in general seem to be like that, aggresive attention whores. In different way than tumblr though.
What happened to that guy? I wanted to see more PQ concept art. That was pretty neat.
What are the chances for it being released in the west? P3 and P4 artbook were rereleased not that long ago and we got Arena design works.
My memory might be off, but I'm pretty sure I can remember this general split off from /smtg/ when Arena first came out. There was a lot more shitposting back then and it was over the exact same shit we're talking about now.
At the end of the day, I don't know why there's bitching about this is the first place. Is the Ultimax discussion actually interrupting anything? Do any of you feel fucking magically incapable of posting anything else when you see it? Not once have I seen anyone playing Ultimax bitch about seeing waifutalk or just talk about the main series when its brought up unless we're confronted.
Of course it's fucking bothersome. Look at this shit:
all context-free and all pointless
consoles have a messaging feature for this very purpose
>Arenafags aren't obtrusive at all!
>They contribute to discussion!
>They don't use the general like a chatroom, and don't make contextless shitposts.
And they could all be said in the lobby or over a private message. Posting them here is completely unnecessary, and as you can see, doesn't even get replies from the people they're adressing
Just kick out Arenafags and send them to the fighting games general. If they don't want them, that's their problem.
So long as the game remains a part of this general, you can't complain about them talking about it. Make a choice.
Those are all shit no one cares about except for people who post it or are mentioned in the post.
Shit like that belongs in a chat, either the PSN one or on Steam where you made a group exactly for this kind of things.
Go on and talk about actual gameplay all you want, but no one cares about how you did in a match or that you want to learn some character because of whatever.
>how you did in a match
That's a discussion on what happened in the game we were playing which is covered by this general.
>you want to learn some character because of whatever
Also discussion covered by this general.
It says Arena right in the title.
That's a ridiculous double standard
>y-you guys can't talk about things I DON'T LIKE here, even if it's about the game
But we can freely have a discussion of Chie's big, greasy, shitty diapers. Something that's completely irrelevant to a game and is tertiary to the topic, at best. Deal with it babby, we aren't leaving just because you don't like the topic of discussion.
you fuckers sure seem to find a way to complain about nothing
Hey man, I'm not a fan of
>I want to shit in Fuuka's shoes
either, but it's more relevant to persona than
>Hey Stingray, you need to get better at the game. I'm lagging. TRISMEGISTUS!
Basically, every arena post is a meta post, which makes it the worst kind of post, just like this one.
Oh shit, when i thought of teddie's shadow, i didn't expect this shit at all
Speaking of which, since you can't EA Aki's mixup or risk getting grabbed, what's the best way to get out of the corner aside from FA with Sho? 214214A seems best but if it fails I have to OMC or OMB.
Definitely not some deep psychological sounding bear with the eyes of the devil, that's for sure
i dunno, something about being lonely?
Jesus I come back to see we're bitching about Arena talk again
Never change /pg/
I'll concede the TRISMEGISTUS shitposting serves no purpose at all, but discussing aspects of Ultimax and offering advice about Ultimax is relevant to Persona. Much more so than
and other various, off topic posts.
If you think "How would Yukiko react to having her fingers cut off one by one?" is more related to a game than "How can I keep Akihiko from destroying me in the corner?" well, we might just have different ideas about what's directly related to the game.
And no one except for you and maybe the guy you are playing against cares about what you do.
Waifushit at least spawns some kind of discussions, awful or rarely actually good. Your posts are relevant for like 3 minutes to maybe one person.
This guy is gonna give me nightmares for the rest of the week
The how about you use, you know, a place where eople give a shit about it, don't have to write the captcha and there is no cooldown so you can actually talk about what's happening in a fast paced game. Like the Steam chat. Or any other chat.
Loneliness seems to be a common thing for P4 characters. I think Yukiko and Chie are the only ones out of the main cast who don't have issues about being lonely.
They really do phone in the bonds with that, huh.
Yeah, he had some great voice acting. It's a shame the VA in golden was so weak at this part.
I visited /asg/ and decided that angry storybros are far more tolerable than salty competitive fighters. It was a topic filled with nothing but hate of everything not Guilty Gear and a yearning for older games.
Made me sad. I miss you /pg/.
>Rise is canon
When a nest of hornets sets itself up in your backyard, you get mad, but the hornets are fine with it. Of course you don't have a problem with this arrangement.
Nigga, I've known that since before i even knew what persona was
>the VA in golden was bad
really? what a shame, his voice is the best thing
As an arenafag, none of you fuckers talked about the story mode once besides, "oh its fucking shit" and "fucking fanfiction writing" when pretty every single review on it said the story was excellent.
So no none you give a fuck about the story, just shitposting your imaginary girlfriends.
This is persona and arena general
It has and will always be the place to talk about arena
No matter how much you bitch it won't change that simple fact and nobody is leaving
Loneliness is something pretty much everyone can relate to at some point in their lives, that's probably why.
And I didn't think Golden's Shadow Teddie voice was bad or anything
As much as I'd like to, that would just cause more problems and most likely people would scramble to make new threads somehow even EARLIER than usual and change the title back and forth.
>really? what a shame, his voice is the best thing
Overall the Golden VA does a good job at replacing the old Teddie, but he really falls flat at voicing shadow Teddie. He can't get his voice as low as the original guy.
Well what did you think of the story mode? Personally I don't think it can be salvaged, with the even more exaggerated stereotypical character writing, roundabout nonsensical plot, and stupid ending.
Mitsuru is the plainest example of how bad the characters got written, and the resolutions to the characters in the epiloogue scenes weren't very satisfying.
I might need to replay Chie's link. I always forget about it, it can never stick in my mind outside the
part of it.
pg is slow enough as it is. Without Ultimax, the rest of the Personafags mights as well try to immigrate to smtg. But we know how that would end go.
About time someone made a general just for the only persona game that matters
> /pg/ - Persona and Arena General
>And Arena General
To be honest I rather talk about Arena than
>Would you let your shadow fuck you?
>If you and Akihiko were in the shower would you drop the soap and pick it up?
>She only appears at the end to do just that, with occasional minor scenes where characters talk about how canon she is.
>Marie is here too guys
>Don't think we forgot about her!
>She's not going to do anything though
Of course Mitsuru, Aki and Aigis and the entire P4 crew got shafted hard, they already had their own story modes and development in the first Arena. Ultimax was always gonna focus on the newcomers and Labrys more than most people's favorite characters.
I'd almost forgive them if they included Shadow Marie in Ultimax.
Because then it would be more of a hint of what she was fighting against. Especially if Shadow Marie
was her real shadow.
You have one turn to attack, a second turn to block.
You better not lose to fucking Teddie.
That's true, but could it have killed them to come up with a better ending? I doubt we're going to see much of the P3 crew going forward. Fuuka in particular got such a non-ending that I felt bad about people who liked her.
Marie's going to show up in a phonecall to slur together some romantic epithet at Yu.
You can't tetrakarn that attack
Yeah. They're on her model, and are her default ingame equip, but appear in no other art.
Naoto's earrings are barely visible though. I don't think you can even see them on her vanilla AoA portrait. Most people don't even know about them
Eyes are a bit different, it's hard not to notice things like that even though it's only in one pic. Though people still miss that Yu has rings in his like Sho so who knows.
Let's hope they will remember.
All I know is that Shadow Marie is the hottest thing ever.
Marie will never be hot until she takes those fucking safety pins off her tie.
Technically, she doesn't. Kaguya is Marie's persona as much as Mada is Yosuke's. Her having Kaguya in arena is a mechanics thing, I think.
I assume Shadow Marie would put them through your nipples or something.
Opinions. The P4 story on its own was pretty terrible, but the P3 and Adachi mode had excellent resolutions. I hope we never see the P3 crew again, not because I don't like them, but I want to see them put to rest.
I loved the p3 epilouges,
teared up for a coupleand I never really gave a shit about fuukaa so I had no problems there. They gave perfect closure and I imagine the Public Safety shit was just for fanfic writers to sink their teeth into, same with Elizabeth's journey
I dont know I just get pissed off when I see it being talked down so hard here. Probably because most of the hate isnt what it is but rather what it wasnt (something that made P2 relevany in any way)
A persona is still a tamed shadow. I'd not be surprised if it was just a mechanic, but if they reveal somewhere later down the road that it isn't then she can still have one.
And the deal in PQ was special because two Fool Arcana cards being together or something.
If I recall right doesn't Chie not even know what an engineer is?
I haven't played ultimax's story because I got the JP copy
But perfect closure? I hope so, I love that shit
All your very best friends will never remember shit about you, nor the awesome adventures you had or the bond they made.
Forever you will be alone knowing you will never make friend like those, and god knows you try to recover them you just bring Hitler 3.0 to end the world
Two Wild Cards meeting only gives everone a Wild Card lite. The entire deal is caused by Chronos who brought both teams together to solce Zen&Rei's issue.
Then Arena and Ultimax happen, several Wild Card meet and no one gets special powers because of that.
To be fair, Chie always had brain problems.
It was both of them I think. They aren't very bright, which makes Chie trying to become a policewoman seem silly.
They probably have some cheap ass excuse like Aigis was Chariot first or something. That or no one had the time to try it out because they were too busy fighting.
Mitsuru was the only part of P3's story mode I was dissatisfied with. Seeing her and every SEES member complain about burdening herself with responsibility again just left me feeling like she had not progressed. Writers neglected Fuuka even in P3, so I expected that.
Labrys' epilogue made me tear up a bit. Stuff about what Featherman teaches kids too was also rather touching, as was Ken deciding to give up his role as an Aux member to embrace being a kid.
I got the JP copy as well, and just played along while reading this
Junpei continues being a little league coach and tells obnoxious kid to cool down and be a team player, which is the exact same thing he was doing at the beginning of the game. Not a bad ending for him, but kind of redudant since we get to see the exact same thing earlier in his story.
Aigis' was fine, Labrys' was good.
Fuuka's was awful.
Ken gets to be a real shadow operative and also go to school and be the soccer star. Woo hoo.
Akihiko goes to college so that he can do powerful deskwork and puts protein in his alcohol. Not especially engaging.
Yukari's turns into Mitsuru talking about how she's still too busy with Shadow Ops to hang out but being a Featherman makes Yukari a national hero or something.
Mitsuru is gasp she had friends after all who want to help with shadow operatives stuff.
So that's about three that I found as bringing a good resolution to the characters from where they began in P3 (or arena, for Labrys).
> Akihiko goes to college so that he can do powerful deskwork and puts protein in his alcohol. Not especially engaging.
Well, at least he has a pleasant life. His college bills are probably getting paid by Mitsuru. And he has Aigis with him all the time as his assistant/nanny/manager.
Even Naoto and Yu's endings are more along the lines of "And the adventure continues." They plan to keep working and investigating these things forever. Can't really give a final bit of closure when the characters aren't looking for a specific end.
>They probably have some cheap ass excuse like Aigis was Chariot first or something.
There is still Liz and Sho though. That's four Wild Cards. Even using that excuse it's like one full Wild Card from Aigis and Sho, half or one from Liz and one from Yu.
>Can't really give a final bit of closure when the characters aren't looking for a specific end.
More like "can't really give a final bit of closure because it gives us an excuse to keep their stories going on forever with a dozen sequels".
But why would they stop fighting shadows? I don't think any of them really want the world to end, and unless P5 is in 2100 they're not going to be dead. Even then Aigis would probably still be up.
If Chidori died in your play through, it was great seeing Junpei's still strong feelings for her and him telling the kid to hit a homer showed how he's gonna move with his life.
Ken was always in the shadow of everyone else in SEES and after everyone was doing big shit for the shadow ops, he was left behind. Now he gets that they didnt ditch him, they're just waiting for him to get older.
Akihiko spent his years after p3 being a wandering bum trying to get stronger after losing so much in his last year of high school. After the events of arena, he's grown up and going to move on with his life
Yukaris was great probably because I've always liked her and mitsurus relationship. It also had that not-so-subtle references to the mc when they talked about the themes of her tv show
mitsurus was good mostly in virtue of that last scene where everyone came together
Again, its all opinons. Its just disappointing how dissmissive /pg/ was of story mode
Lol, I was replaying P3 and Akihiko mentioned Yukari is not going to Tartarus because she has a "funny" feeling
>Its just disappointing how dissmissive /pg/ was of story mode
The more we talk about the story, the more it hurts and we start to notice plotholes and how retarded some things were and it hurts more and we just want to forget and move on too.
The one thing I'm glad for is that they didn't revive MC. Though earlier I looked up translation of the PQ ending and remembered that Yu promises MC to meet again and it makes me worried.
Kens was more he's going to enjoy his life as it is, which is why he gave his SO pin back until he's older, as it was pretty bored with his normal life at the beginning. He pretty much wanted to go on Shadow hunting adventures with the group.
Yukari I think finds a way to connect with Mitsuru by doing Featherman, as her problem at the beginning was how busy she was and how little time the two had been spending together. Heck Mitsuru was getting pissed with guys coming up to flirt during it, unlike when Yosuke asked her out in the True Ending.
Fuuka's probably would have been understood better if they included her own intro into the games, because she pretty much decides to help the Shadow Operatives until they no longer need her services.
Sho didn't get his till the true ending, and Minazuki had to disappear for that.
Elizabeth: Was trying to stay out of the events to see the battle between Solitude and Bonds.
Yu's was just Nanako getting on the train with him instead of the adventure continuing.
>he's grown up
No he's still a power addict. It's just that now he wants political power to go with brute strength, and he's being ungrateful to Mitsuru paying for college and has to have Aigis constantly nag him.
Because the villain was shit and muh bonds.
>Yu's was just Nanako getting on the train with him instead of the adventure continuing.
Yu's adventure continuing was impled with the Sho parts. With how he will have to be his senapi now and he will have to deal with him
Anon, no one actively wants to be weak, and everyone wants to be stronger, socially, mentally and physically. If Akihiko wants to get political power to make the world a better place, then why the hell not? Its damn better than beating up cartel guys in Mexico.
Junpei's resolution is fine, presentation could have been better though.
Ken really feels like he hasn't gone anywhere since P3, he's just a popular bishie now but otherwise the same little team detriment he always was. He only gets his faith restored in the rest of the shadow ops because Mitsuru tells him he's allowed in later, so it's not like he's expending any effort to keep on good terms with anyone else in SEES - even though Junpei, Yukari, and Fuuka shouldn't be hard to reach.
But it doesn't add anything to Yukari's character. She started out in P3 not trusting Mitsuru, over the course of P3 makes friends with her. This scene is more of a repetition of her already-happened development, than clearing up any other loose ends with her character. I guess there isn't much to do with Yukari after she got cleared up in the Answer.
His reasoning for going to college is so that he can become "more powerful" to defend the shadow operatives on a political basis from the police. It's the same "I need to be stronger, to protect others!" shtick he's always had, but now he's not punching things. I guess he is pursuing a career and not just out punching bears, though.
Handled poorly. I guess she never realised over P3 that she had friends she could trust. Oh wait, but she did. So this was a step backward for her.
Akihiko's thing was always power. For most of his life it was physical power, but after Arena he's decided to include power beyond brute strength, which is still an improvement.
The Wild Card thing, how Marie had no idea that Kagutsuchi is in town even though she knows about everything that that happens in it. I temember also people talking about how Kagutsuchi's objective changed between the games, that in Arena he was still looking for a vessel and worked with Sho even though he was upset he has to deal with him while in Ultimax Sho is the vessel or sonething like that. I don't remember Arena that well so I wasn't really paying attention to that discussion but I think it qas sonething like that
>Q comes out in English 3 weeks from now
>Ultimax is fun
>Golden Animation has an OVA in December
>first screenshot of Falling Down was shown in a magazine recently
>DAN isn't cancelled
Monokuma at least has a fetish for despair.
The first Devil Summoner taught me the Yakuza are secretly vampires.
I honestly believe that after EPP bombed in Japan and they chose not to localize it, they changed up the pre written story they had with Nyarly as the villain. It fits in with the writing times.
Regardless of your feelings about it, I feel like I can say goodbye to the P3 crew now and its thanks to Ultimax's story mode. Their stories are done and over with and we can move on.
I never cared for the P4 team, they can rot in hell and dance to their hearts content for all I care.
Kagutsuchi mentions in his fight with Teddie he planned on him being a vessel, but changed his mind. The whole one true vessel seems like bullshit in the end as a result.
Kagutsuchi honestly comes out looking like a weak little bitch all things considered when he can't even handle a couple of str shadows.
Regardless of whatever issues there are with the character resolutions, the main plot of Ultimax was also rife with a lot of over-exaggerated character writing and a generally awkward plot.
>Naoto figures everything out early, so she's written out of the plot because the characters need to be stupid for the plot to work
>Spent all that time hyping up the Shadows only for them to be bit pieces
>Sho was stalking the IT through all of persona 4 and that's how he knows their secrets (seriously)
>Characters feel very aimless in what they are doing
>Sho had Labrys' remote control all along. Somehow.
>What happened to wanting an army of strong shadows? The goal changed from this to wanting a strong shadow so that Kagutsuchi could manifest.
>The day is saved when Yu and Adachi fuse their Izanagis into a sword and stab Kagutsuchi
>The day is saved when Yu and Adachi fuse their Izanagis into a sword and stab Kagutsuchi
>The day is saved when Yu and Adachi fuse their Izanagis into a sword and stab Kagutsuchi
And you can ultimately see the utter shit that it became. That Shadow Ops image still makes me upset.
>I feel like I can say goodbye to the P3 crew now and its thanks to Ultimax's story mode
I personally wouldn't. It's clear there is an intentional unresolved tension with Public Safety. We still don't know how or why the Public Safety Officer knew that Naoto was a persona user.
And yet he's strong enough to cause unbelievable pain and make it impossible for you to move as the Red Fog, create copies of people using shadows, and turn Inaba into a Dark Hour/TV World hybrid that forcibly turns normal people into shadows.
Then abandons this perfectly useful form for a crappy Eva knockoff that just makes things hot.
Oh please, we'll never see the P3 crew again. Public Safety was just for the fanfic writers to chew on.
And maybe Mitsuru never knew who solved the Inaba case, but Public Safety could've been monitering shit and figured out who the Persona users there are. Its not like they're obliged to share info with kirijo
>He could've just found it in the box Labrys came in
Alright, I can accept that. But there's a difference between being a 'hacker' and having a remote control.
>how or why the Public Safety Officer knew that Naoto was a persona user.
I think they mention that the official police report made reference to Personas or the TV world. Which I think is bullshit, but ok.
Yeah, this too. You have a near-omnipotent enemy that you can't do anything about, with a powerset that doesn't make a lot of sense, and his end goal is to exist and destroy everything. Because I guess he couldn't do this already?
Also, the references to Tartarus felt pretty phoned-in to me. It's like the game had to go back and rehash the setting, because they couldn't make it interesting otherwise.
PSO didn't even know what the hell a Persona was when he met Mitsuru.
As for how, I suppose I could imagine he got more information from another government branch considering that the government was well aware and backing up the Nanjo Group and NWO during EP.
I find it hilarious that the Nanjo Group gets out scott free from reprimand, but Kirijo is labeled as worse than Hitler.
I will never go back to P1 or P2. I got to a monster pretending to be Makis mom in P1 and quit, I couldn't force myself through anymore. I went on to P2 afterwards hoping it would be better, it wasn't. I stopped when the Lion mask guy came up and maya started going on about m-muh fire. I am so glad I started on FES.
>He couldn't understand P1's story
>He probably wound up fighting Hariti like a scrub
>He didn't slap Maya
Everyones talking about the epilouge's but I just fucking loved that final fight with Sho in the True Ending when he immediately goes into Awakening mode and fights with Minazuki's moveset while Break Out was playing in the background
I wish they updates the protraits for P1P. They would have definitely benefited from that. There's only so much of Mark's dopey face with dialogue saying "YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE" a person can take.
How is this related to persona?
and yes, i would
It was Hariti. Also you did it wrong if you had to fight her.
Way to be a quitter Anon.
Now, the question is, even if you would date them, would THEY date you?
>tfw you were hoping for Mitsuru to receive a phone call from Nanjo or Katsuya but it never happened
If they think, act and feel like me, they most likely would
Well closure for anyone who wasn't expecting something from the P1/2 casts.
It was rather disappointing they didn't reveal the rest of the SO members, or so much as even hear from them.
No not really. You just won't get one of the totems for the Ultimate personas. Either decision is fine but one of them is better than the other.
Katsuya is 38 as of Ultimax. Baofu is 45.
I wasn't expecting playable characters. Just a nice little nod would have been nice.
Yes, i got it from tumblr
Any problem with that?
Why do they look so cute together?
Cuz FeMC compliments MC's carelessness really well
Because doors have two sides, and they go well together.
