Western or Japanese ones?
Still, if you like Pokemon and Final Fantasy for their gameplay, give it a go, it's essentially a mix of it with a fucked up story. And aside from some recurring demons and the Demonica there isn't all that much stuff that would have you know the other titles.
I was not implying it's the most fucked up story in SMT or in gaming. But it's way more fucked up than Final Fantasy, which I was mentioning.
But, while we're at it, which SMT game has the most fucked up story?
Mastema as Starscream
Starscream as Mastema
>dungeon crawling and lots of it
>early game that grabs you by the balls and squeezes really fucking tight until you git bud
>choices actually have an impact on the game
>lots of religious themes
>gameplay is kinda similar to pokemon but severely punishes you for fucking up and using the wrong move
>get demons by negotiating with them
>negotiations can be fucking hilarious
>get more demons by fusing them together
>gotta fuse all the fucking time if you want to win
>overall it's pretty fun but niche
I've heard giten was pretty fucked but it's moon only
P2 and SJ were pretty bad though
Bro, I'm not a lawfag. I'm Neutral.
Just saying, Law has some good image potential
not to mention best theme:
>Devouring your allies
>God erasing everything
Pillar Zelenin is a bitch from what I read. She has a move called "Requiem" that is essentially Mem Aleph's MA, but for the whole party. Damn.
would you mind posting some pictures of mastema for me?
expect that drawing next sunday around this time
sorry anons, Ive got my request, try to catch me next time though
I do like the jack frost one though
Pillar Zelenin is a bitch from what I read. She has a move called "Requiem" that is essentially Mem Aleph's MA, but for the whole party. Damn.
Most people who fought both tend to think MA was harder, including myself.
Should Mara be limp thanks to the cold Jack Frost?
Saving these two ideas anyway for drawfaganon so he can draw em later.
Here's a Mastema.
So I just got past the whole Reverse Hills thing and decided to go with Walter. From what I heard, finishing the paradise quest cancels some of the challenge quests if they're still open. Question is, how long can I keep the tournament quest open? Does it close after that quest as well?
I'm currently neutral so I'd really like a few spare chaos points when I fuck something up eventually.
I'm not willing to disclose how long it took me to edit this image
All protagonists need a stronger father figure in their life.
That's what you get for betraying your demon friends.
At least you didn't fall for the Kool Aid guy code
>There will never be a TAE
>You will never follow in Metatron and Zelenin's footsteps
>You will never give up your humanity to become one of YHVH's finest, everlasting angels
>You will never rally the heavenly host to prepare for battle against the demonic hordes
>You will never descend to the sound of trumpets to begin the final battle against Lucifer the wicked betrayer
>on tvtropes because bored
>look on the SJ page
>Copy Protection: Almost to EarthBound levels. Playing this game on emulator or a flash cart results in no random encounters, which makes proceeding through the game difficult. Even if you managed to get past that, the game performs a different save routine resulting in corrupt save data, which is then deleted upon attempting to load it! Get past that, and the game begrudgingly lets you play, but still crashes at random every so often.
holy fuck why atlus
The no encounters protection was fixed on emulators and flashcards on release, but save corruption and random crashes still persist in most emulators.
>Playing this game on emulator or a flash cart results in no random encounters
played it on a R4 last year and had none of the problems
only a savegame corruption after i completed it twice after ~70 hours
Am I doing it right /smtg/?
The corrupt save data issue was fixed in a patched rom, git gud.
Not a lawfag, still want to see this.
Seems like good fusion fodder, though.
>Pixie in a Demonica, fighting alongside you
I want this so badly.
>I want this so badly.
I want it, too. For some reason seeing a "human-like" Pixie turns me on.
But that would be boring in addition of being bad.
I bet you play on easy too.
Fuck you it
was awesome when I was 12
Some handles just stick with you, or I'm too lazy to make up new ones.
Tinke for graphics, any hex editor for text. You'll first need to make a character table and maybe learn the control codes before doing some heavy editing, though.
>tfw found out after spending 15 dollars on OC that sRPGs are for gay nerds
On another note, how difficult/annoying are the mazes and enemy encounters in SJ? I've been meaning to pick it up, but some of the crawling in Soul Hackers really got to me and I don't know if I'm going to be able to handle it.
Have you loved and honoured Mother Gaia and the Great Mothers today, anonymous?
>TFW all this lawfaggotry
Ok /smtg/, I've been just getting into the MegaTen franchise and have only played P4 and nocturne so far. I like P4 and so far have absolutely loved nocturne. What should I play next? I've been thinking about trying the Digital Devil Saga games next
DDS and Strange Journey are both excellent choices. I'd recommend either before going back in time to SMT I/II. If you loved Nocturne, I think SJ first - but yeah, they're both great.
>being a disgusting chaosfag
I seriously hope that you mortals do not do this.
Play DDS if you like more mainstream jrpgs, Strange Journey and SMT4 are more of the same demon taming/fusing goodness as nocturne.
DDS is like a traditional jrpg with nocturne combat system.
>Having an ego almost as big as Lucifer's
>Thinking apes can rule better than an eternal omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent God
>Caring about a demon that will sate your lust more than the common good of your fellow man
Filth, all of you.
>Choosing to live a life of lesser happiness without knowing the loving, warm embrace of the Lord
And as for breakfast I eat the exact same thing everyday. Oatmeal.
> Fighting Asura in SMT IV.
> Easy fight so far, buffs/debuffs mean he can't land a hit consistently and when he does the damage isn't great.
> Nozomi uses fucking Zanma and makes Asura smirk.
> Get wiped in a single Javelin rain.
THANKS YOU STUPID BITCH.
>doing, believing, caring about anything
>Happier about being pretty much a slave who gets angel'd if he falls out of line in any way.
Oatmeal is like your god filled life. Unappetizing to look at and devoid of any taste.
And who gave you free reign to judge us?
Look around you. Look at the people on this board, right now. Would you trust them? Would you trust them to trust themselves?
A commendable start.
Content to stuff your gullet full of the same slop that rots your mind, I see. Wake up! The only way to protect the planet that protects you is to seize control of your own destiny. Show some spine! Eat something other than malted wheat paste, criminy!
I love my oatmeal. But that's something Chaos can't understand. Contentment.
>Calling into question YHVH, humanity's all-loving Father, as the natural leader of all
>Supporting a man who would try to summon the king of demons and spite himself into the world so that he could spite Law's plans for utopia
God I can't get into Nocturne at all. I think I burnt-out on dungeon crawling with back-to-back SMT 1 and 2 before hand. Think I'll play P3 FES or Soulless Army instead before trying Nocturne again.
Is it wrong that I love sort of "in-character" RP posts like this, that are still relevant to the discussions but do not devolve into autism territory?
Good for you. Some demons can only be obtained by fusion error. Hope you have enough LU!
Obvious bait, but tell me anyway.
What ISN'T shit taste to you?
90% evasion / hit rate, cannot be hit by weakness, do more damage (dunno by how much). That's all I know, though there's probably more to it.
Damn. Now I need a parody of the L.A. Noire game cover, but with Junpei, Chidori, etc.
Adding this to my list of /r/able images. Thanks.
I, being Neutral, prefer mine with some fruit and honey, to get rid of the shit taste.
Also, Merkabah, has YHVH ever driven you? By that, I mean just like a car?
I'm really fond of the combat system in Nocturne, i think its genius. The demon collecting/fusing aspect (especially in nocturne) is surprisingly fun and addicting, so I'd love more of that! I unfortunately don't have a 3DS yet, but if IV and SJ are really that good then I might just have to get one. Another question, is the combat system in P3 any fun? From watching some videos, I think that'd I'd prefer just about everything in that game over P4 with the exception of the combat, the fact that you can't give direct commands to your team members sounds fucking retarded
Nah, they're fun to make, and so long as they're on topic they aren't a pain in the ass. Besides, Gotou is bro-tier.
I was actually born a day apart from Yukio Mishima, so I feel a little bit of sympathy for the guy. Also, dat Golden Pavillion.
Also, does anyone recall Kaneko saying what he was going to work on next?
Suck my ass, I haven't played Persona 3/4 in over a year and I won't ever again, I've been playing exclusively SMT the past few months, I just don't want to have to do shit like the Amami Monolith in another SMT first person dungeon crawl.
>He doesn't put bananas or strawberry on his oatmeal
>He thinks he can be a top chaos dog when he doesn't have gainz
You'll be a petra or some shit like that faget.
Even so, being chaotic doesn't mean a lack of discipline
>Not eating raw oatmeal everyday to get huge in a world of STR
Fucking Slimes, when will the learn.
I just reached
Tokyoin SMTIV and just realized again how much I love the post-apocalyptic SMT settings. Are there any other media that capture it so well besides SMT? The only that spring to mind that come kind of close are the X manga/anime and Angel Sanctuary.
> Casuals cried about Minotaur and Medusa.
> I literally beat them first try.
> Nobody mentioned David/THE FUCKING HUNTER TOURNY PRELIMS.
So I take it casuals don't even do sidequests/come back at level shithundred?
Yes. That's how they do everything. If something is difficult they wouldn't even think a second about it but instead grind some levels and take the problem with brute force.
That's how they roll.
Wait people honestly thought Minotaur was hard? I lost to him first time because I wasnt ready and also got some misses which gave him extra moves, but once I realised I only had to use bufu, spamming that was easy win>
David's a fucker though. I keep getting hit by Mamudo
My problem with Minotaur was at first I thought that getting buffs asap was important so I tried to fully buff up, oomed and got my ass handed to me. Next time I'd learned my lesson and just spammed bufu and won.
Well it's only been out since Thursday for Eurobros. I myself have just reached
Tokyoand have played for about 11 hours. I've only encountered Medusa and Minotaur from the bosses that everyone's bitching about and they weren't so bad.
you've done good, son of man.
max luck is the only way to exist.
you'll be glad if you like negotiating or fucking with ailments or if you succeed at going neutral because you can whisper a good luck skill from the neutralfag demon that is amazing against any non-boss that doesn't null/repel phys.
Oh my god, fuck this motherfucker. Fuck his fucking Blight, and fuck his fucking Mamudo.
I beat Minotaur on the first try, but I've fought this stupid shit 10 times and haven't beaten him.
The game said I had to quit that quest if I wanted to continue with the main story. I thought that meant I wouldn't be able to start it again.
Also, this is my first SMT game, so I don't know what you mean by "fiend."
No, you can cancel the quest and take it again as many times as you like. Seriously, it's natural to get your ass blasted by David if you try to fight him just after Minotaur.
Explore Tokyo some more and try again.
And fiends are a series mainstay; they're basically powerful skeletal monsters
Aw fuck. Thanks anon.
I was kinda hoping he'd finish it at some point.
Oh fuck, I was completely wrong. Thanks for the correction anon, I don't know what I was thinking.
Yeah man, at least the Kalpas had some interesting challenges and parts of the map. Tartarus has nothing going for it besides the music. All the block themes and BABYBABYBABY are some of the best music in P3, but that's it.
ps. friendly reminder in general,
use a skill that inflicts BIND status when you're fundraising.
getting macca is still tedious as fuck (but battles not giving macca is probably good in the long run, you can't overlevel when 'grinding for macca'),
but bind can make the job more reliable between hunting relics
>Please educate yourself, fucking casualries.
No seriously, the plot that's in nocturne is good but it's spread sooo thinly that it's basically 2 hours of information spread across 30. If Nocturne was a 2 hour game it'd have a great plot.
Which would probably be why it'd not be a bad idea for that anon to play a different SMT game before going back to Nocturne. Variety is the spice of life and all that nonsense.
>spread sooo thinly
Doesn't change quality at all. Also you don't have to exaggerate, it is more than 2 hours with reading and shit.
Persona 3 is hours of relationship shenanigans which I'd regard as a pile of shit compared to the topic of nocturne. The real "plot" of Persona 3 isn't that much either.
No shit, Sherlock. I was obviously talking about Nocturne. Its plot isn't that thinly that it affects the quality.
Also if you just see a game only as a story telling device, you'd be more content in the book/film department.
>Also if you just see a game only as a story telling device, you'd be more content in the book/film department.
I don't understand, we're talking just about Nocturne's story here. I'm not judging the game as a whole because of its story, I'm just saying that as a whole the story is actually pretty short and simple.
>A game could have the best story in the world, but if it's fed to me one sentence every 12 hours I have no interest in it
Obviously a pretty shitty example brought up by you but you judged the game as a whole.
Oh no sorry that was ambiguous. I meant that if the game's story is fed to me once sentence every 12 hours then I'd have no interest in the story. The gameplay could still be great and I'd still enjoy it.
oh and another note - I still enjoyed Nocturne's storytelling and gameplay but some parts did feel long and drawn out to me. I think there are plenty of games that have better stories than it.
Yes i think that he is a Lawfaggot.
These guys always live in the closet.
Why does Chaos always get the tastiest morsels?
People seem to like making Flynn more feminine than the girls of the game.
So when people are talking about Nocturne's difficulty, are they just talking about Hard Mode or is Normal really that brutal? So far it's been surprisingly easy once I started recruiting demons - I was expecting the game to be much worse. That said, I've only had one boss fight against Forneus, which wasn't bad, but I'm beginning to dread a huge difficulty spike around the corner.
Did you guys make me paranoid over nothing?
Oh I know I don't need to, I just want to get the quest over and done with. Guess I'll just chance fighting him again when Ive better demons
Really? I don't think I had any dark weakness
Play Hard, enjoy never having any money because items cost triple what they do in normal mode. Back attacks, enemy criticals, the enemy going first, boss damage output and Mudo/Hama hitrate go up by a good margin.
>Struggled hard with RNG with Minotaur, he kept critting and hitting despite the usage of sukukaja
>Fight Medusa with barely any MP on my team and most at half health, stomp her hard
Thank you for the based RNG during that fight, YHVH.
That wasn't me, I took a nap after my RNG didn't kill you during Minotaur. Very disappointing.
Seriously, what the fuck, it had the same difficulty stars as the Asura mission, which was a piss-easy fight.
I cannot see any way to clear this shit right now without fucking INSANE RNG blessings.
It'll bug the fuck out of me that it's the only unfinished quest in my optional quests right now.
Could I use Serph/Heat/Argilla as my party for all of DDS?
I feel like a physical damage dealer is important, with Argilla as a healer/sometimes buffer/earth and electricity damage dealer, while I do the rest of the types of damage and all dem buffs.
His entire post was nothing but pseudo-intellectual overly-analytical bullshit that also happened to conveniently ignore exactly how shit 4chan is as a whole. People are more genuine on 4chan? Fucking right. As the fuck if. Has anon even SEEN this fucking website?
>Letting magic win
What's wrong with you guys?
>got up to the part where you start fighting Airavata
No. No alpha as fuck protag for you.
Guessing Uzume since Amaterasu is having a panic attack.
Fuck you Freud, there's nothing wrong with having a milf fetish.
If Hikawa had dick-sucking lips and a killer rack.
>Fuck you Freud, there's nothing wrong with having a milf fetish.
But there is.
In other news, i want to fuck Erika.
>If Hikawa had dick-sucking lips
You saying he doesn't?
>my hardcover just arrived
>i was waiting a month to get it
>no dont want to read it
Good. After all, who are you going to believe? Me or these evil humans?
To get 71 (dekaja/dekuna) do I have to do the 62, 68, and 72 routes?
And what about 66?
>random schoolgirl in the middle of run down Tokyo
Totally not a demon guys.
Don't worry about routes/alignment first time through. Answer questions and make decisions based on your own feelings. It's the best way to enjoy SMT.
Although Law is the worst alignment in general
>worse than chaos
>taking orders from a potato.
In all seriousness, ignore routes/alignments your first time through. Answer how you want, you'll enjoy the game much more that way and this hold true for any SMT game. Besides that, just follow the general FAQ for any questions. http://pastebin.com/Z8zrVDx5
>wanting to eradicate an entire populace
>girl see you reading
>wow is that book about the nickelodeon cartoon??
62 and 68 lines for 66, 68 and 72 lines for 71, honestly though you only need to get Power Charge and a strong single and multi-target physical skill and the game becomes a cakewall, Mind charge is obtainable much later and Apocalypse is ridiculosly good.
Please, be gentle. It's my third day.
Excuse the pic quality; I'm pretty tired and can't seem to take a good picture, and I have no other way to get them in my computer.
null and void are the same, unless you're talking about DDS or something
which game are you talking about?
anything below repel is kinda the same, so you may as well go with drain.
repel is the best if you can get it. nothing gets past repel, while everything else can be bypassed with a piercing skill
But you want drain, not repel. You might repel something back to an enemy that drains the spell that was reflected.
And what enemies have piercing skills aside from the Archangels in IV?
Don't waste energy having a reaction. Just report any chaotically aligned post you see.
People who like vanilla shit like holding hands
Lawfags, could you find me someone who is more than a qt than Lilith?
How do the sales work in smt4? Is it random or is it based on real life days? Or is it just for show? I tried googling but that just finds people talking to the game being on sale as it is every 3 weeks.
I'm tempted to just look up his weaknesses and moveset to come up with a battle plan, but fighting him over and over again until I figure that stuff out on my own is
I didn't specify human. I'll bet lillim or whatever takes her shirt off cutely too. I don't know where girls learn to do that but it's amazing.
Also you can't do it with men's shirts for some reason
Because pulling from the top would mess up hair more. Its also more likely to stretch and rip shirts, and since girl shirts are generally made from softer material its a bigger deal for them. They're also tighter shirts, which would make them more likely to stretch when pulled from the top.
It should be noted that many girls just consider that the normal way and say that the way guys take shirts off is hotter.
Yeah, I remember reading a tumblr exchange or something where girls tried to take their shirts of like boys and boys tried to take their shirts of like girls. It didn't work out.
I think boy's shirts are looser around the back which allows them to be pulled over the head easier while girl's shirts are less tight around the sides allowing them to do that cute crossarm thing.
I'm not complaining, I think it's cute af. I hope girls take their shirts off like this forever.
>the way guys take shirts off is hotter
I thought guys took shirts off from the bottom too. The pulled from the top method definitely seems more like a guy thing, but a lazy guy thing.
It's hotter when they take it off starting from the bottom.
I always thought it was a lazy guy thing but did it anyways since I assumed that doing the bottom was deliberately a sexual thing. Then I get told that girls consider the taking it from the top thing the hot guy way of doing it so to be hot i should do it that way. I even tried from the bottom, and was told that looks too girly.
