Persona 3 Portable does have some good additions, such as a female protagonist route, and some difficulty addons.

But it also does some questionable stuff like remove some of the 3d environments and remove the ability to use different fighting styles. Also it has direct input from Persona 4 where you can select what your party members do, which makes the game super easy.
It also doesn't have "The Answer" epilogue, which you're gonna like if you like grinding for hours.

Well the only bug I've ever noticed, is an extremely common one if you use the widescreen hack.
During any cutscene, character models that aren't supposed to be in the screen yet may be seen running or walking in place to the side of the screen.
If you really think that will bother you, turn off the widescreen hack, if not, then more power to ya.

Make sure you tick Texture filtering, and allow 8 bit textures if you want the character models and the text on screen to look nice.
Also enable FXAA if you don't like jaggies.
I use Directx11 mode with all that.

Oh and one last thing, don't forget to love Aigis.
