It's basically in the middle between Melee and Brawl.
It's definitely an improvement, and you'll be able to get right into it. There's not really any advanced tech like in Melee, and everything you need to know is in the "How to Play", so you can just jump right in.

Not that guy, but i used to play brawl competitively. The tourneyfag stereotypes you guys hear are mostly true. There was a big schism in the community after Brawl dropped, and the comp Brawl community was so desperate to make the comp scene work that they would let anyone into their community, even the worst autists and degenerates you can think of. Stories about sperglords breaking controllers, tvs and furniture in post-match rage were not uncommon. There was even one incident where an unconscious 14 year old girl was gangraped in a hotel after a tourney ended. Something similar happened to another chick about a year later, and this time she posted about it online, but she was laughed off that website. This and a few other incidents made me quit comp smash, those manchildren are seriously disgusting.

So far it's confirmed that his arrow fires differently from Pits, you get significantly less control but more speed and powder. His side-B launchs at a kill angle instead of a juggle angle and can activate out of shield. It seems like the properties on a lot of his normals are slightly different too. We're waiting on more information.

Is anybody else giving up on Wario?

I played him in Brawl and over time he felt really tiring. The biting move was really weird and didn't make a lot of sense, the bike feels clunky, the animations were jittery, and I hate that stupid farting move. I kept going because of his overalls and F-Smash shoulder ram, pretending that I was actually playing Wario.

Then comes Shake It! and I love Project M's Wario even more.

Now with Smash 4, he doesn't even have the shoulder attack anymore! The last thing I enjoyed about Wario is gone, they might as well have just taken out the overalls too, he's just a disgusting caricature of his former self. I'm never gonna play those stupid microgames, he could at least get coins every time he jabs an enemy or something.
