‘ELION EIECH ADIER EIECH ADONAI’
‘JAH SADAI TETRAGRAMMATON SADAI’
‘AGIOS O THEOS ISCHIROS ATHANATOS’
Well tired as shit, only 3 tracks left to do. When I wake up I'll finish those and upload beta music replacement for testing if everything is ok.
So get ready for P1P music replacement tomorrow.
Just incase you're paranoid about post being fake:
I'm not putting the effort into editing a gif. I'll do it next time, anonymous-san.
So, I got into an argument on Omegle about which Persona is the best one. This guy thought that 2 was the best because and, I'm really not kidding here
>Tatsuya is cooler than all the other MCs
No other reason. I personally like Persona 3 the most out of the Persona games, followed by 2, but, that is a retarded reason. What the fuck is wrong with the Persona fanbase?
I like Persona 2 the best because I think it has the strongest characters of the series.
I disagree with you. But, I do enjoy Persona 2 a hell of a lot. I've replayed it probably as many times I have 3. It's a very hard decision which I like more. But, I gotta go with 3 > 2. But just barely.
I really liked the characters in the game (especially Junpei, he and Hijiri are probably my favorite SMT characters), it was my first introduction to the press turn combat system. And, while, I'm gonna get shit on for this, I love exploring Tartarus, I'm a huge fan of Dungeon crawler games.
But Junpei is a Persona character, not an SMT character. It would've been more correct if you said MegaTen, because SMT refers specifically to the four mainline games.
Besides that, P3 doesn't even use the actual Press Turn system, just a bare-bones modified version.
A lot of people dislike Tartarus, but I don't mind it because even though you're stuck in one dungeon there's still a sense of progression and more than enough loot and enemies to prevent one from getting too bored.
Don't forget Devil Childen. All the Devil Children even live in Harajuku, Tokyo.
Plus is has a God who is not a dick, and is also a girl, like 99% of angels are dicks, and Lucifer is a benevolent king who sleeps with a lot of women.
I know Junpei's not TECHNICALLY SMT, but, meh. I like most Shin Megami Tensei games, and, P2 and 3 aren't even close to being my favorite (that goes to Nocturne). I still enjoyed both a whole hell of a lot.
>>But Junpei is a Persona character, not an SMT character. It would've been more correct if you said MegaTen, because SMT refers specifically to the four mainline games
You don't have to be so anal, anon. It's common for a long ass time to call MegaTen SMT.
Does merkabah realize he could probably do more damage if he wasn't holding his weapons in his armpits?
>Jonathan casts Bufu on a horde immune to it
>Gets repelled back in his fucking stupid face
>3x Mabufu, 1 smirked
Can I turn off these shitty companions? Is there a bad ending where I murder them all? I'm sick of this garbage. Who the fuck though this up. He could clearly analyze Burroughs and see this is not what you fucking cast on this enemy.
I have some bad news.
inb4: FUCKING HASHINO
Tadashi wrote the scenario
The character portraits are more or less the same as the originals from the PSX, but colouring does make a difference. Even between PSX IS and PSX EP the in-game character portraits look different, but for the PSP remakes the full art and cut-in stuff was all new.
They had the same combo in P2 originally, Soejima did the line-drawing and Doi did the colouring, while it was Kaneko who did the original character design.
I found Persona 2 EP's gameplay to be unbearably slow due to both demon conversation and how slow the UI is
I thought P1IS was fine because you can use default personas and the UI has been fixed
Will P1P be unbearable
>Including that shitty Odin on the envelope
High five Odin is best Odin.
He answered some questions on twitter a year ago. Like how Brahman was the hardest design and he would like to live with the Holy Ghost.
Fuck you, just deleted my letter to Kaneko
Is Devil Survivor really frustrating or am I just bad?
It seems 9/10 times anything that can go wrong does.
I should also mention I'm ignoring free battles
peeked at the titles section in the beginningso that might explain why I'm having a hard time. I barely have enough skills for everyone now that Keisuke came along.
Is this your first playthrough? I assume you're not very familiar with SRPGs given the difficulty you're having. Do not avoid free battles if this is your first playthrough, especially if you're not very familiar with the SRPG genre. You're just fucking yourself over.
I'm a pretty big Fire Emblem fan, though Fire Emblem is pretty different. If the difficulty persists I might just give up and use them.
My main problem is really failing non-dying objectives, like keeping other, retarded people from dying.
>My main problem is really failing non-dying objectives, like keeping other, retarded people from dying.
That's where Racial skills come in. Learn them, live them, love them. They get even better in the sequel. And by better I mean even more broken.
Marksman is fantastic. Healing's kind of iffy though since it can drain your MP reserves pretty badly if you're not paying attention. You're gonna love some of the late-game Auto skills, by the way.
I have the snakes in a jar guy (forgot the name, not playing right now) with Evil Wave, I'll try putting him with Atsuro since he has Anger Hit. Didn't want to use him for the earlier fights because there's Jack Frosts for days.
Are there any skills to look out for for recovering MP? It's annoying to run out and have a crippled team for the rest of the fight. The only one I see so far is on King Frost and I'm not strong enough to fuse him yet.
Yeah, Divines have Blood Wine that gives MP to the team. And Fallens have Sacrifice which heals a bit of HP and MP whenever they kill a unit. There's probably more.
In case you didn't know, every type of demon has the same racial skill. So every Divine has Blood Wine and ever Fallen has Sacrifice. Every Beast has Animal Leg and so on.
Eventually you'll start seeing demons with MP recovery Auto and Racial skills. I think Tyrants have the MP recovery Racial, but you need to crack the MP recovery Auto from demons in order to set it to your human party members. Come to think of it, you'll likely find MP recovery Autos on demons before you're able to crack it for yourself.
Drain is one of the best spells in the game. As for racial skills, Fallen have Sacrifice (which restores HP and MP whenever they defeat an enemy) and Divine have Blood Wine (which converts the Divine demon's HP to MP)
>same race have same racial skill
I feel kind of stupid for not realizing that.
Also apparently there's alignments and different routes? Does alignment conflict with certain routes or vice versa? I'm guessing they will but I haven't gotten far enough to see any typical alignment questions or anything.
There aren't really standard alignment choices. But each day is, as you've probably noticed, divided into 30 minute chunks and every time you go to an event time progresses by 30 minutes.
Later, you'll be really short on time and will have to choose between saving <x> or helping <y> do something. It kind of develops from there. Just help out people whenever you can but prioritize the characters that you like. Depending on what you do at certain times you'll be given different route choices at (slight spoilers here)
the end of the 6th day
The alignments conform with the routes. You've got a Law route, two Chaos routes (that're pretty much the same, actually) and some Neutral routes. The Law route's representative in DeSu1 is actually one of the best, in my opinion.
And I say that as a Chaosfag.
I only assumed some major shit would go down on the 6th/7th day, yeah. I'm assuming it's like Strange Journey where if you're middling between alignments you get to choose which you want to go down?
Not quite. If you make certain choices some people (and thus their routes) will become unavailable to you. So at the end of the 6th day those who are still alive (and in your favor) will ask you to join their route.
Sort of. Basically, if you manage to unlock multiple alignment endings by the time the end of the 6th day rolls around, you'll be given a choice. Once you choose, THEN you're locked into that alignment route. On your first playthrough you might not unlock more than a couple of routes, though.
Also, one particular route is ALWAYS available to select, no matter what choices you make.
Lastly, does Maru ever stop being useless? It feels like all she knows how to do is get attacked by demons on a stage and make my life miserable trying to save her.
So I'm playing SMTIV, and Archangel just told me he will evolve soon. I was planning on fusing him because he learned his last skill and whispered to me but... now I don't know. Do I keep him? Is it worth it in this game?
Oh neat, I can keep this guy the whole game? Does the EXP required to level keep skyrocketing because it's the same demon or does it treat each evolution as it's own demon?
speaking of devil survivor, did the first one have more route options than the second or am I misremembering? I haven't played the first one since it came out and got the second one used a few weeks ago
anyone have the picture of this? image shack source got taken down any of the anthony reactions will be good too
I can get those for 250 Macca each. What shitty bait are you pulling, Anon? Do you even demon ecomonics?
If you believe my offer, Anon, I can also sell you some Incenses for 777 Macca.
They're actually Medicines.
I've been stuck at Mazurka for the past two days and I have no idea where the boss is.
Am I supposed to go into the Sea of Flames for the boss? I currently have
Orb of Malice
>not wanting a mentally fragile waifu you can take advantage of
>MYEAAAAH watch me ring my bell at you!
>No magatama to effectively void instant kills
No wonder they didn't invite you to 4, you fucking skeletal shithead, that was my second death, too.
Throw on the Void Death Magatama, fully debuff him with Fog Breath. He rarely ever uses Hama spells, mostly opting for Mudo. I always go into that battle with Void Death on Demi-fiend and I've never been Hama'd inside.
Fought him twice, he used Hama more than mudo for me.
Either way, it worked out, certainly less embarrassing than my first death
Panicing and using tornado on 3 guys who repel force in the first Kalpa after I cleared the entire thing. Without saving ;_;
Does anyone know how to counter charm in P3?
This fucking boss always fucking charms everyone in one turn with sexy dance.
I only have dis-charms and i used my me patra gems on glowing shadows.
this just in THIS GUY IS NOT FUCKING AROUND A JACK FROST SHOWED UP AT MY DOOR AND I HAD TO USE A LIGHTER AND HAIRSPRAY TO KILL HIM, ON THE RUN FROM DEMONS NOW I WILL LET YOU KNOW IF I SURVIVE
I'm close to beating P2 IS on psp and I'm really worried about playing EP. Is the translation good? is it at least accurate? I love this story and I really don't want it to get fucked over by bad localization
What are you on about? The translation is actually pretty spot on, various fan translators praised it, including the guys who made P2:IS PSX translation and even DebiSama 1.
Generally Revelations was an anomaly.
Well guys, the beta patch is ready, I'm about to make the xdelta file and upload it.
It's beta because of two reasons.
First, the intro and good ending music aren't replaced yet (I need to think how to tackle them with the filesize limit I have) and secondly it's obviously about finding possible bugs.
ETA 30 minutes.
Oh and since there's various ISOs floating on the internet, this is the one that I'm making the patch for:
It's the one with most seeds of all public trackers so I figured that's the best one to make it for.
You haven't seen Arena 1 then if you think EP typos are bad.
I love you
please dont be a troll
Could you please upload a pre patched iso on mediafire? Last time i tried with the jojo placeholder i couldnt patch my iso at all even though it was a normal US iso
Well shit I'm blind, sorry I could've sworn it was P1P iso.
I really really hope this is legit
>mfw this threads number
>I can just put up with that, if I have to.
Oh boy, you'll change your tune when you realise that you have to pause the battle (or just leave auto-battle off entirely), open the strategy menu, and select your fusion spell(s) every single fucking time you want to cast one. And god help you if you want characters not participating in the fusion to perform their actions first - you have to open the turn order menu and rearrange them manually. After setting everything up you can't then go into autobattle and have it repeat - for some inexplicable reason the fusion spells won't cast and the order may change - you have to repeat this every single battle round. How this UI abomination managed to make it past play-testing in not one but TWO games absolutely boggles the mind.
That said, I still think EP is better on the gameplay front than IS simply because it's actually possible to die - characters seem to take much more damage than on IS "hard" mode, which was so pathetic that I actually thought it was bugged at first. At least, that's the case so far - EP is the one Persona game I've yet to finish.
Also, I'm playing/re-playing through all of the main Persona games and, though I'm personally having fun, I wouldn't recommend any of them to anyone - each game has glaring flaws which drag it down to mediocrity territory.
>horrendous translation and butchering of characters
>bad UI, particularly the city map which was horrendous
>random battle occurs before more than 2 fucking notes of BGM plays
>said battles are piss easy - just set nuclear/elemental spell or guns with charm rounds, depending on foe, auto-battle, and watch - boring chore
>generally no challenge at all, then last boss absurd jump in difficulty (at least on hard) that requires level grinding if you want to finish the fight in under an hour
>same UI issues as with EP
>presumably same easy difficulty as PSP version? never actually played this one
P2 IS PSP
>barely any challenge whatsoever, so easy that I thought the game was bugged
>aforementioned UI issues
>lack of party control
>the entire social link system being boring and completely disconnected from the rest of the game
>same complaints minus party control
>incorporated inferior mechanics from P4 re:one more system
>dumbed down one more system
>still has social links
>expert too easy overall (though had decent level of challenge at start)
Depending on how the difficulty for EP PSP is balanced, the extra content and fixed interface for the port may make it the only Persona game that's actually truly good. And, of course, it's the one that most of us can't play because it's not in English...
Kept you waiting, huh?
P1P PSX Music Replacement Patch.
Read the bloody readme inside.
Make sure to grab the right ISO here:
Thing is p2ep is way slower then p2is PSP, and gameplay wise their the same except the combat for ep is way way way way more tedious so its hard to go from the psp version to the psx version...
>not using computers from the late 80s to summon demons
like it would hurt to add it to the download links pastebin, it's like you want me to think you're worse then hitler, anon-kun.
That depends on what you mean. The first one had five routes, one non normal game over, and a sixth "route" that was actually just a second way to get the fifth one.
The second one has five routes, but only four paths. One of them branches into two routes, and of one of those two, one has a better version.
>only one who liked both P1 OSTs
/pg/ and tumblr prefer the psp version
>fun with P1/P2 since everyone complains about them so much
people here have fun with smt 1,2 and kmt you really think the gameplay in the first two personas is a challenge for most people here?
>tulpafag does shit for once
>implying he won't just delete it
>Kandori theme starts playing when you visit Maki
Why am I laughing at this
My major problem with P1P is the fucking battle music.
If it didn't have vocals, it would be better. I hate hearing the first line again and again and again...
It's also very loud, but I suspect this is due to the use of fast forwarding. As in, they assume people playing the game will use it, and there's not really any FX in comparison. If you actually play a battle at normal speed, you will notice the voices are very low volume.
P1 PSP is a masterpiece.
Sure, it's imbalanced and easily exploitable, but that's kind of a staple of the series.
P1P soundtrack a shit
It's even worse then the p3 and p4 ost, only weaboos and/or waifufags prefer the j pop shit
When you pirate from Atlus, you're really pirating from Sega.
being in high school and being about high school aren't quite the same thing, which isn't to say that the original music doesn't fit a game that's about high school which that other shitposter seemed to be implying
Well in that sense I suppose so, P1 to me seems like a game very much about insecurity (see Reiji/Kandori, Brown, Nanjo, and of course Maki). I just think the original soundtrack gives off a very different vibe than the PSP one, and it's a vibe I like.
P1's OG soundtrack may be the GOAT, but even P1P's soundtrack is better than P3's and P4's mostly because it's still a bit less poppy overall. Ice Castle, Confrontation, Tension, SEBEC and Deva Yuga are especially great, and the Satomi remake and Tesso reuse seal the deal.
It plays in place of Confrontation, which is (in my opinion) overused in the PSP version where it wasn't in the PSX version. It might also be the most generalised version usable to replace that track.
What the hell are you smoking?
Confrontation is literally the name of the track that was replaced.
Seems to me like none of you people ever actually played P1P.
>What the hell are you smoking?
Hash spliff laced with a little opium
>Confrontation is literally the name of the track that was replaced.
I'm saying there are tracks from the p1 that would fit better where this track is
Not really. Since this is meant to be the boss conversation track and replacing it with something else won't flow well with Kandori later on.
tl;dr if it bothers you don't use the patch since track selection is not something I'm changing.
I only want to hunt down possible bugs now and restore the PSX intro.
Then I'll move onto making the Remix version which mixes PSX and PSP music.
As for school music track, I used the dungeon version purely because you see pre-dungeon school pretty much briefly, whereas later it's a dungeon in the game and the music wouldn't fit.
Same reason with Black Market music.
Yes, deep as the 5th Kalpa.
Which I fucking hated to go through.
Also, Confrontation is a beast track. Too bad it plays a lot in unfitting scenes.
Also, I just beat Dante last night.
Had Bicorn use Sukukaja 3 times then Bright Might crits.
Uzume using Media or Mazan.
Forneus just attacking normally.
MC Focusing then regular attacking to get decent damages in, using an item whenever needed desperately.
Bicorn keep up the Bright Might, Dia occasionally.
Uzume pretty much spamming Media or basic attack.
Forneus spamming Venom Bite or basic attack, one Fog Breath.
MC one War Cry, then Focus Attacking. Got a Focus Crit once that dealt 950ish damage, helped finish him off.
Currently grinding in 1st Kalpa, which I finished. Can't open up 2nd Kalpa though without beating Daisobrou and Hell Biker. Have yet to explore Mantra HQ.
This is my 2nd Cycle.
Any tips for the pyramids in Nocturne? I'm stuck on the White one. The enemies are kicking my ass, there don't seem to be any healing rooms, and I feel like I'm kinda underpowered. I'd go back and heal/buy items/fuse stuff, but I don't think I can go back.
Yeah, Isamu's place. I just defeated Alciel so I visited the White Pyramid.
Anyway, I think I'm in the mid-40s with a phys build. My demons are Dominion, Pazuzu, Okuninushi, Setanta, Oberon, Ose, and Yaksini. I actually haven't checked my save in a while so I might have one or two more demons, but the ones I've listed I do have in my stock/party for sure.
The white temple is easy if you have demons that can use elements.
The boss uses elemental attacks and is weak to several elements.
Focus on the one who has the elements you don't have or have demons weak to.
Try grinding to Level 50 just to be 100% sure.
Its time to fuse some of those demons and get a Daisoujou because of meditation+prayer.
If im not mistaken i drained all the MP of the pyramid bosses.
The enemies themselves almost all have weaknesses,so getting a demon with a certain power is a must.
You know you can teletransport right?
Whenever i get in a pinch i go back Asakusa.
Daisoujou makes this game easy mode.
He stops being useful in boss certain boss fights.
The final boss and one of the reason bosses.
Level 45 +is is kinda late for a Daisoujou if I remember correctly.. Just see if you can get any mana drain/prayer.
I suspected this when you said you couldn't find the health fountain.
Don't worry about it.
Don't give a fuck. Grinding in 1st Kalpa cuz the Ahrabaki and Pisaca and all those enemies in B2 give at least 300-400ish exp and 350-450ish Macca. Each battle. Better than Ikebukuro by far. Not sure if Mantra HQ is better for grinding.
The Gogmagos and Titanias in White Temple give lots of exp. Make sure to grind a lot when you're there.
__Noahor Kagutsuchi or Lucifer. Noah sucks unless you have Freikugel+Pierce on TDE, otherwise you have to guess at his weaknesses on his 2nd form.
It's time, gentlemen!
Post one of your favorite boss battle themes!
Here's one of mine for starters.
I ain't. I haven't played the PSP version in fact.
I only played the PSX ones since I felt it would be incredibly shitty to go from PSP IS to PSX EP.
I'll play both on PSP if I ever learn Japanese or EPP ever gets translated, but even then I'll play them with original soundtrack option because the PSP remixes sound lifeless to me.
I uploaded canzah's P1P psx music patch pre-patched ISO on MF
EXCUSE ME JUST COMING THROUGH WITH THE BEST DUNGEON THEMES IN THE SERIES
>According to Isamu in the Shin Megami Tensei Nocturne CD Drama, Naoki Kashima and Chiaki had a very close relationship before the Conception. It's heavily implied that they would have started a romantic relationship had the Conception never happened.
>tfw half the soul hackers soundtrack was made by meguro
meant to say "game with the best dungeon themes in the series"
ginza theme is a town theme not a dungeon theme
Meguro is a very good composer, it's just he seems to not give a flying fuck when making Persona music and aims for lowest common japanese denominator with the crappy j-pop and bottom of the barrel hip hop.
Ryota Koduka. I don't know what he had done beforehand other than the Junes theme in P4. He knocked it out of the park with IV's soundtrack, but it remains to be seen if he can match Meguro's versatility
>He knocked it out of the park with IV's soundtrack
Fiend theme remix was shit, other remixes were pretty much unrecognizable (apparantly the hunters association theme is supposed to remix kichijoji but who the fuck knows) other than the intro to ginza playing at the arena
Meguro did Nocturne, DDS and SJ soundtracks, all of which are top tier.
He was also the main director for P1P and P2P, and while he fucked up P1P (to which he admitted), he redemed himself with P2P.
SMT4 was some other dude.
>retards on /pg/ saying JoJo invented personas and tarot
What a bunch of fucking deluded imbeciles.
Why are JoJofags so cancerous?
In fact, why is /pg/ such a fucking shithole?
Not that /smtg/ isn't a shithole but you people are less retarded than /pg/
>not the toppest of tiers
only thing holding it back is the comparatively small number of tracks and the shitty sound quality
Yeah, thanks. We're altogether pretty chill here, I'd say. Here, a chill track:
SJ's awesome. It's 2001: A Space Odyssey, in Antarctica, in the Demon World. And orchestrated music. >>79848090
I never noticed the sound quality. I was too immersed in the godly orchestrated goodness.
>Bait this shitty.
Fuck. Forgot to give you the chill track. Here:
Hey, I am.
>The Schwarzwelt has engulfed the planet...
It's atmospheric, bro.
Sounds Lawful. Zelenin?
The CD Drama is crap, so the idea that you fuck her in the Freedom ending is silly.
Besides if I remember right he hates people who bully the weak, like Chiaki does, and dislikes the weak who just take it, like the beta OC Demi-Fiend in the Drama CD.
who cares about the contents of the drama CD as long as it means that fucking Chiaki is canon
besides, Chiaki only goes full WURLD STR because of the conception, if it never happens then she never goes full edgelord
no, she becomes a shitposting chaosfag solely because of the conception
you literally see the moment she changes to chaos in the vortex world, before that she was a perfectly functional well adjusted human being
Testing the canzah patch.
Every seem to be working good!
I only have a problem runing on my PSP but changing the ISO mode to Sony NP9660 fixed it.
And? Just returning the world back doesn't mean they just magically change.
Yuko remembered what happened. The three other fags remain set in their ways till the end. The only one I can think of who might have questioned it is Hikawa, and that's mostly because he mentions the silence came for him and how it's too quiet.
The Vortex World just revealed their true nature.
Besides if you take anything from the Drama CD as valid then all of it is and that means Lucifer was supporting Demi-Fiend for Freedom/TDE throughout the game and Chiaki became the kind of person he hates and thus would have no problem murdering.
>Just returning the world back doesn't mean they just magically change
it fucking does, Yuko is the only one who remembers because she was the fucking maiden, Chiaki and Isamu are pretty obviously fucking clueless about it.
Without the vortex world to precipitate their personalities to the extreme, their just normal fucking people
Which means Hikawa is planning the Conception all over again because he doesn't remember what happened.
So nothing changed.
Plus they were never normal. It's shown through the Afterlife Bell that normal humans can't survive in the Vortex World. One soul used the bell to come back to life, only to die seconds later because humans are not permitted there.
The anon was talking about who cares about the rest as long as fucking Chiaki is canon.
When it doesn't work that way because the Drama introduced a terrible OC who whines about how much he wants to bone Chiaki. You have to accept all of it and not just a part.
The race Sanat Kumara has is the same as the race Demi-fiend has for mastering all magatama. Mastering all magatama and getting that race for the demi-fiend requires going TDE and is the only way to get Pierce, which Sanat uniquely has along with gaea rage, another demi-fiend unique skill.
The ancient of days could be another demi-fiend who actually chose a Reason and became an avatar of YHVH.
Parallel universes with multiple versions of the same person are canon.
Thus multiple versions of the demi-fiend is canon.
Nocturne is about the creating of the physical realm through the emanation of light from Ein Sof, the facilitator of which is the ancient of days. Thus, a demi-fiend who recreated the physical realm (chose a reason) could have become the ancient of days in that world. He certainly would have given up his humanity, just as much as if he had gone TDE.
So I'm just now getting into Strange Journey (Played Nocturne, IV, P3 and P4, DDS1 and Raidou 1) and I'm loving it. I kinda miss press-turns, but the Alignment-based battle system seems less susceptible to blatant cheese tactics. Not sure if I prefer it over Press Turns, but I'm only just about to rescue Zelenin (from what I can assume) so there's plenty of time to decide. Bootes is still pretty low-level
hwne the demon run away after u give gift
