PersonaQ Manga Scans: SOON
what about FeMC
yosuke: shitty FPS
yukiko: ds crap
rise: project diva or some other miku crap
naoto: professor layton
MMOs and Fighting games as stated
MMOs or JRPGs
Video games are for nerds, do you even lift?
Video games are for children
Anything as long as you play with her
Anime licensed stuff
MC: Traditional rpgs like dragon quest
Yukari: The sims to make a family she didn't have. Or dating sims.
Junpei: Monster Hunter for a sense of accomplishment and progression
Mitsuru: She would instead read a book.
Akihiko: fighting games
Fuuka: SRPGS where she provides support for others as a strategist.
Ken: something childish I guess.
Isn't it implied MC a simfag? In the movie he uses what he learned in the game to stop the train and I remember him knowing shitloads about the train while playing that same game at the arcades in the manga.
>why would yukari play dating sims
Because she's lonely. Says in her slink she talks to that cell phone strap of hers.
Junpei plays a handheld in P3, and whenever you see that in Japan it's usually monster hunter. guess he would also like something baseball or american though.
>Isn't it implied MC a simfag?
>you will never play OpenTransportTycoon with MC the entire afternoon
If you absolutely loved Marie and though she deserved more screen time and also be the heroine of the game, then maybe
If you didnt cared or liked her, then no.
Episode 8 lacks Marie so it's watchable, if you need to see one no matter what, watch this one.
Basically anything. He also buys game with his dick
Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon and the likes
Same as Yukiko, Pokémon and LittleBig Planet
>Marie haters still buttblasted about the anime which is GOAT tier
Atlus knows what's good. Keep crying bitchniggas.
Merlion would have been a better final boss than the one they went with in ultimax.
>What do you mean
I mean he has pretty much no motivation. He killed 2 people because he was fed up with society or something, then stays behind the scenes to string the IT along, eventually gets cornered and flees into the TV where he gets beaten like a chump and hauled in.
>he killed two people that would potentially accuse him of harassment
Huh what? He intentionally went and talked to Mayumi about her marriage, then when she dismissed him he got angry and accidentally pushed her into the TV.
He then called Saki into the police station with the express purpose of questioning her about getting close to Nametame. when she refused to cooperate he threw her into the TV to punish her. It wasn't about being potential harassment accusations, it was about punishing those bitches.
>tfw got the bad ending killing Namatame during my first playthrough
>tfw dropped the game for months thinking "is that it?"
>friend cant stop talking about some izanami shit
>booted the game again in a long time and finally did the true ending
>tfw I was questioning that shit my first playthrough and kept saying that I didn't want to go home
>Also maxed Marie because margaret wouldn't stfu about it
Boy am I glad I got the true ending + epilogue the first playthrough
if you lock someone in a room and they starve to death, you killed them. adachi knew that after he pushed Mayumi into the TV, she showed up dead in the real world a bit later. He knew the same thing would happen to Saki.
Stop being a moron.
I don't think Rise ever cared enough about being an idol to do something like that. Her relative sent in a tape and that's how she got started.
By the time she did care enough, she didn't have to.
All Persona guys are faggots for the fujoshits.
The day will come when we'll run into detective sanada asking us to find his junior who we'll find scarfing down the new dish at whatever food place P5's city will have. wonder if she'll still call him master.
She was a great healer and source of dps and that was about it.
Too bad null fire is pretty good
So what's everyone's opinion on Zen and Rei.
Were they really need in the crossover?
Well their dead so it doesn't matter in the end.
They are just there so that they can be revealed to be dead the whole game, what great characters.
What a terrible dungeon that must be
Waiting for Ultimax import copy to arrive, does anyone know if Adachi is any good? Is his playstyle somewhat comparable to anyone from Arena?
Sadly, he's Liz tier.
ArcSys are fucking retards that cannot into balance.
And that's why nobody plays their shitty games online month after launch.
Just look at BBCP, it's dead as fuck.
he's fun, that's about it. I mean, play anyone you want anon, just don't expect to do well online, since every grabs up the "high tier" purse owners.
Still, i find Adachi fun to play, as with Rise.
oh, word of advice. never play Marie... just... i mean, look at her. 'nuff said
i wonder what it would be like to literally lie through your teeth... it'd be hard for anyone to understand you however... but to be literal with a figure of speech, that's kind of a victory in it's own regard
it probably isn't, but there gotta be some bored kids out there that should look into screwing people's days up
Leveling in P1 is dumb, exp is given based on how much they did in battle.
Make sure someone with a better persona isnt wiping everything out before Nanjo and Mark get a chance to attack
really nothing, just shitposting and having conversations.
but to keep on topic, i do have to mention persona stuff every now-and-then, or at least post a picture of relevance.
honestly i'm more interested in seeing whether or not Persona 4: Dancing All Night will even be fun or not, i'm just in it cause my girlfriend thinks Yosuke is the best character ever... despite logic or reasoning otherwise
but what are you going to do?
Plus, i'm waiting for Arena Ultimax to hit NA coasts so i'll have a better chance online with Rise, as i get my ass handed too often.
Super fan to be blocked by Global Rule 2 though, really brightens my day. It just goes to show how great animosity is
So what parts of P3 and P4 made you guys really
P3 - Last Month
P4 - Nanako's Dungeon
P3 - Last Month.
it is, the mood killer extraordinaire. I have a friend who dropped P3 because of that month, and how he felt it ruined the flow of the game
i did make him play through it though, at a later date. he said the game was a solid 8/10 in his book
>Make sure someone with a better persona isnt wiping everything out before Nanjo and Mark get a chance to attack
they are, but what can i do? mark and nanjo are slow as fuck and i don't want to risk not killing the incubus before they charm everyone
Set everyone other than them to defend, and have those 2 shoot shit at a lower level or something.
If you let one drag behind too long, it will be more of a pain later on.
but also like this guy said, >>79401845
you can beat the final boss with like 2 people and a Lilim, so fuck em if you really want to.
P3 - not really sure, but about the time the cast returned from Kyoto trip and I could start Mitsuru's s-link.
P4 - Nanako's dungeon, definitely. Felt like a monster when I had to clean it in two days instead of one, because I wasn't buddies with that jew fox.
whoa its the boss that weak?
mark has brigid which have all the frey shit, i thought it was good
nanjo has take-mizakuchi and an illyianka with megidola
i need better crap than that for deva yuga right?
>whoa its the boss that weak?
Not really, there are just broken persona's.
When you can make Lilim or Azreal make sure to fuse them with a -dyne item, or some other hard hitting move.
Actually I think most of the Judgement persona's are only weak to physical.
Hope you took Elly instead of Brown or Ayase
Yeah but you can get her at like lv 20ish.
I want to cuddle a Lilim.
Agreed with both, especially Heaven. I burned through it in one go as fast as possible on my first playthrough. No idea how I even beat Nametame considering I just sped past most battles to get to the top quicker.
Why do I enjoy Naoto being a schizophrenic
Why do I enjoy her social autism
Why do I like to see my waifu suffer
from the same artist
captcha is 108 the number of all buddist sins
I see. I'm level 70 and my party is 63-66. No matter how much I grind I end up having trouble with the next dungeon and need to make constant Fox trips and generally struggle to make it to the boss. The boss itself I generally beat it on the first try, but as a close shave.
The more serious and subdued someone is, the more interesting it is to see them be in loss of control.
And we love her for it. Rise best girl.
>having trouble at kanji
It's kind of scary but not really that hard.
Shadow teddie on the other hand... I despise him, so long to kill him and those stupid fucking cutscenes before him
>Shadow teddie on the other hand...
He gives 2 free turns, and then you guard to negate all dmg.
Shadow Teddie is the biggest joke boss in the game. Even more than Adachi
P5 combat is going to suck, and its because of people like you
Naoto, Chie, Yukiko
Kartikeya equipped with matarukaja
Use a ma-dyne
Naoto uses blight or deathbound
Chie uses heat wave or agneyastra
Yukiko uses maragidyne
Repeat for first non bonus turn
You won, enemy is dead
Yukiko heals Naoto and Chie back up
I don't find the combat hard. I just find that when I'm up against mystery enemies I burn all my SP quickly and need to spend a lot of money on the fox to beat the dungeon in a day or two.
24 is super underleveled for teddie
did you just not fight any of the enemies in the dungeon?
yeah. throw myriad arrows on kartikeya for more fun. yukiko's SP pool is so deep that you can go pretty much indefinitely
I had to do it
What's a feature you hope P5 has?
I personally would like to see the MC be able to use any weapon, but in order to do that, he has to reach a certain rank of the corresponding party member's social link.
No more calendar system
No more social link system
Keep the easy mode fusion system from Golden
More diverse dungeons
Less over used anime hijinks
Costumes from the get go and not in some updated port
Not that I know of, no. And the 2 volumes I have that I haven't scanned yet don't have it either.
>Shadow Teddie is the biggest joke boss in the game. Even more than Adachi
Shadow Rise is a harder boss than Shadow Teddie. I beat Shadow Teddie on my first try while I struggled to get to Shadow Teddie.
I'm currently playing P3 right now (first time) and I'm at September at around level 40. Am I underleveled? I'm having no trouble with enemies but I will admit that I'm abusing nulls and absorbs much more than I probably should be (i.e. I beat the Sept. 5th boss because I had a persona with Lightning Null that was level 28ish)
It kind of had that, I like that the characters already have their distinct style that Yu couldn't just pick up in P4, but maybe through getting the rank up, that character teaches them how to use their weapon.
I never played Golden, but wowza the fusion system seemed way better. It's hard to forget the like 10 minutes I spent trying to fulfill margaret's requests because the persona wouldn't get the skill. Yes to basically everything.
Yeah, that could be neat.
If you can find the volume it's in I'll try and buy it as soon as possible, otherwise you'll probably have to wait until I eventually go through all of them. And by eventually I mean a long time considering the laundry list of things I need to do.
I wonder what the gameplay reality of setting P5 in a large urban area is. Is it just going to be a bunch of little areas like in P3/4 or is it going to be a bigger free roam area? who knows.
Im only interested because I want to try to edit it like the dub from NGE, giggle to myself about it, post it once, and then forget about it.
You dont have to go out of your way for it.
I did see that it was supposed to be near the beginning, since they covered MC's transfer scene in the same chapter or something.
I dunno if I expect free roam sandbox-esque world, but P3 basically had a background with stairs/doors/etc > fade to black > new background
P4 took that and gave it more than a single screen, so hopefully we'll see a larger scope of that, but hopefully if they do that we'll have a way to run faster. Or maybe enter the same area from different points, starting you out at different entrances depending where you came from.
Is replaying P3 as fem mc worth it?
She looks cute
That's it for the first half.
Second half in 10-20.
It's okay. Nothing groundbreaking, but the new music is neat and some of the social links are pretty all right. The presentation is gutted and honestly hard to enjoy, but if you're replaying it's not the biggest deal. I also think the protagonist/Junpei/Yukari dynamic feels off with a female lead into of male.
Nanako's Dungeon holy shit was I determined to get her out. I never was as motivated in P3 which is odd since I like it more than 4. I guess the most I got motivated were the discussions I had with the other members of SEES, like Akihiko saying "Yeah, this Christmas was alright but let's have a better one next year. That's right, I said next year." or telling Da Man that I was counting on him.
Man I remember when I used to joke about being a weeaboo, now it's genuine and I don't know whether to be ashamed or just move to Japan.
>TFW two random japanese cuties asked to have their photo with me whilst I was walking around Manchester
I wonder what they did with that photo
C'mon i know it's hip to hate persona 4 here but that's not true.
Specially if you consider P1. Aside from Maki, Mark and Nanjo the others barely have any personality. Maki is meh, Nanjo is cool and Mark sucks balls. The IT is definitely more likeable than the P1 cast.
>Not having the terrorist group at the bottom
more characterization =/= more likeable.
Yosuke and Teddie have tons of moments, but Brown and Mark are still more fun.
>SEES so high
Goddamnit this general has terrible taste.
I know for sure that i wouldnt like Yukari, Junpei, Fuuka, Ken and Mitsuru in real life. I'd bro with Akihiko but all the PROTEIN talk would get annoying after a while.
And protip the girls wouldnt like you either fatty. Maybe Junpei would talk to you out of pity but he sucks.
Yosuke and Teddie have plenty of annoying moments, but that's what happens when you build characters and give them enough time to develop. They had some good moments too. Brown is literally "le unfunny joke man" for the 20ish lines of text he had in P1. Writing characters are hard, specially when they're relevant to more than 5 minutes during a 40~50hours rpg.
more does not mean better.
No one said Brown was a pinnacle of writing.
But his stupid irrelevance was more entertaining than the jealous magician partner, and his whiney comic relief.
>Yukari is a total bitch
No she is not, maybe in the beginning, but she gets better after what happens at Mitsuru's house
>Mitsuru is bland
Bland in that she doesn't grow in any way more than what she started in the game, but still she was a pretty solid character from the beginning
>Fuuka is a worse version of Yukiko
Now that's just wrong
Go play the game again faggot
Oh god it happens, she confuses Naoto for MC
>she was a pretty solid character from the beginning
she really isn't, and since she doesn't develop at all, she stagnates
>Go play the game again faggot
But Aigis really does have no personality. Unless 'give me MC's cock de arimasu' counts.
Fuuka is such a non-entity it's easy to forget she exists
I actually played P4 first than P3, and while I loved the IT, as I played P3 I noticed much more depth in the characters and in many of them there was an actual arc that played in the story over time, in P4 even if you maxed every social link, while the IT was togheter there really was nothing different in how they acted from before doing before you maxed them.
Best example is Mitsuru and Yukari's friendship, nothing like that in P4
It's true. The more serious a character is, the funnier it is when they do something silly or crazy. It wouldn't be as funny to see Yukiko do or say something weird or crazy. She does that shit all the time.
>Fuuka: Play 250 matches
>Nanako: Play 50 hours of match time
is that online matches only or versus matches/arcade matches too?
>persona 4 arena is on sale on xbox
>go into online matchmaking after training
one other guy
>lose to him five times in a row
>he signs off, sends me "gg" in a message
>i am now the only one
a-at least the story mode is long, right? ive spent like an hour and a half watching Yosuke's wacky misadventures
P3 cast were all emotionally closed off believing themselves to be islands that no one else to be capable of understanding.
Yukari had convinced herself it's weak to depend on others after witnessing her mother's means of coping to be by leaving a life of shallow dependance in one man after the other. After the MC extends himself out to her when she needed it, she starts opening up which is why her social link is only available after that scene. Then later extends herself and is there for Mitsuru when her own father dies. Which even then carries over to the Answer when Yukari breaksdown after the loss of MC who was there for her.
P3 was concerned with the death of old flawed mentalities or habits and the birth of new ones. Or just death in the case of Shinji who chose that as relief from his issues. They're supposed to be flawed characters who behave poorly as an expression of those flaws prior to developing.
Yukiko makes my dick hard. I don't even care that she is essentially mentally retarded
If you're shallow, sure. Likely you just can't get over their poor behavior even after they develop.
Likely the reason P4 had the characters face their shadows prior even being a member of the party was so they could clear up any negative conflicts that may have been present among the cast for generic slice of life interactions uninfluenced by any kind of personal flaws the characters previously harbored.
But it's true. Are you telling me there are seriously people who don't think EP is garbage? How is that possible? Even Atlus knows it was shit, that's why they didn't bother to localise the PSP port.
I love SPH so that's actually still really hot to me
And there you go.
On another note, I did manage to scrounge up some money for this, though I'm not entirely sure when I'll actually be able to scan it all. Again, I have a laundry list of stuff I'm supposed to be scanning/typesetting, and I'm technically slacking off by scanning this. Sorry.
>people say Yu have it easy with everyone jumping at his cock
>Elly is all over Piercy for no fucking reason
At least Yu SAVED THE LIFE of the other girls, jesus.
hey man you're doing god's work here. thanks for stopping by and scanning some shit for us again. you're welcome everytime.
I hope P5 really lets us form bonds the right way.
Oh, one last thing. Since I doubt it'll work on any US version of Arena, there's no reason for me to keep it. But there was a code that came with the magazine. From what it looks like it's a P3 Aigis Lobby Avatar.
The OGs are the best characters. They're just subtle about it.
EP would have been better if I could make Ulala battle in a swimsuit
Except IS and EP aren't different games. They are both Persona 2. They the first half and the second half of the duology that is Persona 2. EP isn't some half-baked "let's throw re-use assets and make billions" that some people seem to think it is.
For lack of a better example it's like saying that The Two Towers is a poor sequel to Fellowship of the Ring. It's not a sequel, they're the same fucking book.
The sad thing is that I know this is bait. I just can't help myself.
>mfw that Namatame decision
If you pick a single wrong option, does it fuck you? I managed to pick the right ones just by absorbing comments over the years on /v/.
You're right, Persona 5 was a bad example. Imagine if they marketed Golden as Persona 4-2 or some shit.
>They the first half and the second half of the duology that is Persona 2
Here's the problem though: that duology is completely unneeded. You could end IS as-is and not make EP and it'd still be impactful and fully fledged story-wise. EP is completely unneeded; the first half is mostly just rehashing events of IS anyway.
Yes. And it was that point that really solidified my hate for the P4 cast and how they never act rationally. And how Chie always spouts the obvious.
Kanji was the only good member of the IT.
i expect to see some lewd photoshops with this /pg/
The entire point of that scene was it was a temptation. It was an easy opportunity to pin the blame on someone else, someone who was even 100% guilty for doing some very bad things and had just hurt them personally. And in the end they all actually manage to calm down and listen to reason without resorting to trying to kill each other.
I know this aint the best place to talk about it seeing how most of you guys hate P4, but i really liked the sudden change of tone near the end. It was all scooby goofy but then bam, nanako kidnapped, nanako dies, and you have the chance to fucking murder Namatame in cold blood out of pure, blood rage.
Even P3 that had darker tones all around didn't let you gang of stupid teenagers suddenly become murderers and have to live with that for the rest of their lives.
>The only ones that weren't acting rationally were Yosuke and Naoto
Kanji was being just as much as a meathead as Yosuke was.
The idea that Naoto suggested killing him is wrong too, she just says the TV in the room would function like the Junes one.
Naoto sucks in that scene because for a Detective Prince she doesnt deduce anything.
Its only Yosuke and Kanji that were being irrational
Yes, but the fact they can't catch on to anything quickly was terribly annoying.
>Adachi is confirmed to know about the TV world
>he runs off into a room with a TV in it
>the IT comes in and completely ignores the TV saying "but I SWEAR Adachi went into this room"
If only Nanako stayed dead. When she came back, it felt like such a cop out. Why DID she come back? Power of friendship?
>she just says the TV in the room would function like the Junes one.
She also says that if you put someone in there they might find themselves unable to get out. Don't be a Naoto apologist please
To be fair, jumping into the TV is a death-sentence under normal circumstances. The only reason the IT survives is because they have Teddie. It's less "I can't imagine where Adachi has gone" and more "He wouldn't jump into a deadly place without an escape plan... would he?"
>why did Nanako come back from the dead?
>what happened to Teddie?
>what happens to planes in the dark hour?
>I'd have liked the scene if it didn't just boil down to Yu vs Yosuke with the others spectating.
uh but that's totally what doesn't happen? yosuke is pretty vocal, sure, but everyone in the scene have their turns. there's even some small conflict when kanji tell people to back the fuck off if they want to let things end without a solution. and surprisingly Naoto is the most affected one, which is a nice touch seeing how she used to be the rational voice in every fucking scene pointing out obvious shit no one else seemed to catch on
>If only Nanako stayed dead.
if i had to chance one thing, that's what i would do. i like nanako, but damn, that was the gut punch that persona4 needed. it would be even better because namatame only had the chance to kidnap nanako in the first place because the IT were so slow and retarded. they had their share of guilt.
>uh but that's totally what doesn't happen? yosuke is pretty vocal, sure, but everyone in the scene have their turns.
Yeah, everyone chimes in for like 2 lines. That's it. The bulk of the dialog in that scene is by Yosuke and Yu
Doesn't change the fact that Adachi was only human. He can't control the exists from the TV world. He was just some douchebag who threw people in and there was no reason to suspect he had any more powers than that, which is basically the case.
I tried to get my weaboo roommate to play P4G. He got to Chie's shadow and says it's too hard and is just playing Project Diva now.
Should I even bother trying to get him to continue? I feel like if he isn't hooked by now he'll never be.
Teddie is pretty clear about how he's the only one who can open the exits from the tv world. Even Namatame and Adachi, that had the same power as Yu, feared entering the tv world. Hell even gary stu mr. perfect Narukami had no ways of leaving the tv on his own.
As much as I love P4, or Persona in general, the series can suffer from standing around and explaining the obvious before getting to the point.
I'm used to it. I like Phoenix Wright games.
Does anyone know where I can get anything similar to pic but with the FeMC? I have the P3FES artbook which includes it for almost all characters but doesn't include her. Any other good bits of concept art would be nice too.
I need it for porn
Revenge is shitty and lazy motivation to move a story along.
It's not even sad, it would just be a shitty move for the sake of drama that wouldn't fit the story of P4 at all. Despite being a murder mystery the game is very lighthearted for the most part. That and I don't think the IT could handle her dying.
Well, we would've found out the truth about Adachi anyway. The IT thought Nanako was dead when they chose not to kill Namatame. Then they would've found out that Adachi manipulated him and THAT'S when we want to punch him.
how can you be so wrong
you even have to insist as fuck before they even listen to you. more than it should, even.
>That and I don't think the IT could handle her dying.
seeing them breakdown after hours of slice-of-life comedy would have been interesting as fuck
>The IT thought Nanako was dead when they chose not to kill Namatame. Then they would've found out that Adachi manipulated him and THAT'S when we want to punch him.
The IT were too retarded to figure that out. The possibility only crosses their minds when they actually talk with Namatame. Guess what with Namatame being eaten live by shadows in the TV they wouldnt suspect Adachi at all.
How is killing her and then bringing her back a half-hour later not a shitty and lazy move for the sake of drama? Killing her would have permanent resonance through the rest of the game. It would give the situation more weight. It's not all about revenge, it's about justice.
You are right though about doing something interesting and dramatic not fitting with the tone of P4 at all.
I wish the sound direction wasn't also shit. The music when Nanako dies was just the "Face yourself" theme we've heard all game.
Why couldn't it have been something like THIS:
They shouldn't have killed her at all is the point. The way they did it was shitty but it was better than suddenly grimdark out of nowhere for the last dungeon. We have all the other SMT games for nothing but bad ends, Persona can be lighthearted. Justice would have meant exactly dick when Dojima shoots himself after having nothing to live for.
>I'm proud that I could protect this town with you all
>That's why I don't want to make this terrible situation even worse by doing something like this
>I want to keep going to school with you all, and make more memories with my friends
>I don't want one of those memories to be of us killing someone
>So what if there's another crime? We can still save people, like we always have
>Nothing has happened yet, so why assume that our future will be filled with misfortune?
Dang why did Yukiko get kind of interesting in a situation that no one's going to hear
I know people hate the anime here but they handled the Namatame scene pretty well. Yu is the one enraged (with fits his character) and the one who drags Namatame towards the tv. The girls try to stop it and Kanji and Naoto stop them, they even have a little fight. Then he suddenly regain his senses and power of friendship happens yadda yadda.
The P2 games were the only crazy dark ones as far as endings go. P1 was happy, P3 was sad but but not heart destroying and P4 was also happy. P5 could go either way but I doubt it will be as dark as 2.
>They shouldn't have killed her at all is the point.
Yep. It was a poorly written device to motivate you into making a poor decision out on impulse. That is then completely undone should you make the correct decision. The ethical dilemma presented with the decision to punish Namatame could've occured even without her death.
I honestly hope they don;t do that. the reason persona 4 is so popular is because it has a super happy ending. going back to p1 or p2 levels of endings would be stupid, Atlus is already trying to undo the melodramatic ending to Makoto's story by having a character try to bring him back. Fuck the bittersweet ending bullshit. and fuck them for not doing Halloween properly for a country that worships demons over angels you'd think they;d be more into it.
>P3 was sad but but not heart destroying
For me, it sure was. I invested the shit out of that game, and when I found out that
MC fucking gives his life away and passes on as soon as his friends reach the roof, it hit me like a brick.
>should you make the correct decision
And pick all the right cryptic options that require meta knowledge
Innocent Sin is the only game with a truly depressing ending.
Also, all true patricians know that bittersweet endings are the best.
i'd say the anime is tighter on the story telling and is more consistent, but it's all preference really, the game has so much more that's not in the anime that if you like that sort of stuff, you're gonna miss it
Fuck bittersweet it's bullshit. An actual happy ending doesn't make a story any worse than one one with a sad one.
The way Naoki was rushed annoyed me the most. He had one of the best S Links in the game but they jammed it in to like 5 minutes of an episode.
