How fares your empire, /gsg/?
On this day in history, June 15th:
1215 – King John of England puts his seal to the Magna Carta.
1219 – Northern Crusades: Danish victory at the Battle of Lyndanisse (modern-day Tallinn) establishes the Danish Duchy of Estonia. According to legend, this battle also marks the first use of the Dannebrog, the world's first national flag still in use, as the national flag of Denmark.
1246 – With the death of Duke Frederick II, the Babenberg dynasty ends in Austria.
1389 – Battle of Kosovo: The Ottoman Empire defeats Serbs and Bosnians.
1520 – Pope Leo X threatens to excommunicate Martin Luther in papal bull Exsurge Domine.
1752 – Benjamin Franklin proves that lightning is electricity (traditional date, the exact date is unknown).
1888 – Crown Prince Wilhelm becomes Kaiser Wilhelm II; he will be the last Emperor of the German Empire. Due to the death of his predecessors Wilhelm I and Frederick III, 1888 is the Year of the Three Emperors.
1920 – A new border treaty between Germany and Denmark gives northern Schleswig to Denmark.

nth for crown prince willy the cripple and incest fetishist
I hate to be that guy but HIP has the annoying habit of crashing everytime it tries to autosave, does anyone know the problem or a fix for it, I have a similar problem with SMWH but not as severe
>1888 – Crown Prince Wilhelm becomes Kaiser Wilhelm II; he will be the last Emperor of the German Empire. Due to the death of his predecessors Wilhelm I and Frederick III, 1888 is the Year of the Three Emperors.
What would have happened if Frederick had not died? He was more liberal than Willy II, so maybe he'd have followed Bismarck's advices
Jewish propaganda. Look at this instead.

I know Dominions has their own thread but it's really slow so I wanted to ask here for those of you with some knowledge:
Coming from a grand strat perspective, how good/fun is Dominions? Any overall thoughts?
Let me give an example
>R&D comes up with new and fun ways to bomb mud children
>Obama tells the army to adopt said new ways to maximize the fun
Obama (the government) is expending military points(the army improving their methods) to make use of new technology
This is how the EU4 MP system is supposed to work. It's not wizards summoning the gods of Diplomacy on a mountaintop to grant them better warships.
Any more provinces than that, and the game becomes too hardcore. Let's not scare off the casual audience
In HOI3, if you let your dissent run wild, will it eventually lead to a regime change or revolution? Or does it just kill your industrial efficiency and spawn rebel militia?
I'm going to be playing multiplayer with some friends soon, and I was wondering if I played as Japan for example, tried to raise dissent as high as possible and have the USSR support the communist party in my country, if it would eventually lead to regime change?
But how does this limit obama in his oppresion of revolts? I know that the USA propably have a shitload of points but what's the connection between R&D and suppression? Which assets would be the same to use?
>Not having a fetish for beautiful, delicate hands.
Willy was a man of good taste.
>HoI3 had a shitload of provinces and it was atrocious.
Please tell me this is bait. I honestly belief it was just the right amount of provinces. Maybe we could actually use a few more on the pacific islands. Then again I'm not 100% sure how many divisions the US did actually use to capture Iwo Jima and the like
I have spent countless hours fucking around with it. It is quite fun and worth the time, buuut, I'm not sure I'd go as far as to call it GS since you only have control over the military/religious aspect of it, with almost no insight into politics or diplomacy.
Regardless of that, I really like it, but for other non-GS related reasons.
Newbie here, why isn't why ship blocking the port? The ships are all early carracks.
There will be €4,99 Ruler Creator DLC on launch alongside German and Soviet sprite packs. buy the premium edition and get the Doomsday expansion for free, which adds a scenario in which Stalin attempts the unthinkable... (can also be bought separately for €7,99)
HoI3 was atrocious, learn to context
>The army just discarded everything it knew about killing mud children
>Suddenly, Detroit wants more welfare NOW!
>It takes time to adjust to the situation due to the recent changes in the method of operation
>Don't be retarded, HoI3 had a shitload of provinces and it was atrocious
The size of the map was fine. What bothered me was the irrelevance of some provinces, which should provide certain resources, but didn't. Many urban provinces that didn't provide manpower or leadership for example. But that's not a problem of the map size per se
why is there no open source grand strategy game?
the way pradox' games work is pretty simple, a premade map which puts infos it reads out of premade country/province/history files on top of them with a rudimentary ai controlled by lua files to make it move.
that shouldnt be really hard for some hobby programmers to recreate?
Only when the basketball tournament happens right as the rifle is introduces and the country's finest have yet to find where the trigger is located
That's why it's always a good idea to keep a small amount of mil points in reserve when playing EU 4, otherwise you may get delicious 2-3x revolts from a single province just as you spent all your points.
>gsg focused on Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Russia

>All the "peacefully integrated" smaller states have territorial claims
>And they're pressing them
>Suddenly NATO makes a move
wat. Austria quickly gets 3k of their stuff and then the market goes back to normal. Everyone else still sells to everyone else and once Austria hits their storage cap they sell off all excess.
The only way you screw the world is if you are the only producer of a good and specifically don't produce much of it. Like UK and machine parts.
I will rehost tomorrow at 2:30 EST. Have the mod installed and be sure you get the right checksum (XCPN) before hand. Be ready at 2:30. I'm getting really fucking tired of wasting hours of time waiting for special snowflakes who think hosting at 2:30 means starting at 3:30.
I'm not even in your game in case you didn't realize. If Rob wants his games to run smoothly, either trip up and warn people of host and start times in advance, or organise elsewhere. If he doesn't, he shouldn't complain.
Comfiest nations in vicky2 to learn the game?
I downloaded and installed the latest vickymod.
I'm looking at something like muscowy in eu4, lots of action but you cant go wrong, not something like castille where you do fuckall and if you do ANYTHING before 1550 your game is over.
I host at the same time every day.

Hello, newfriend, apparently you have somehow found your way to /gsg/. Don't worry, it's a common mistake. You see, here we talk about Grand Strategy games, and sometimes to historical facts related directly to those games. Now, the holocaust isn't part of any GS, nor the question you ask relates at all to GS or any videogame at all. I think you should go to /pol/, that's probably the place you were looking for to begin with. Now, now, don't thank me, people get lost, it's just a fact of life. Have a nice day!
I'll even link you to it so you don't get lost again:
60 Trillion does not even come close. It's been at least, and that's really the lowest estimate, 60 googolplex.
My grandfather however, a jew, personally knew at least 800 trillion googolplex jews who died in the holocaust, one of whom was his wife and my grandmother who was gruesomely murdered at the young age of 5 by the nazis
I fucking hate this retarded AI. How hard can it be to focus on the actual threat, meaning fucking 120k frenchies that completely wiped out everyone else because you were too busy fapping in morocco?
Oy vey, you are only considering the jews that were currently alive during the holocaust. When you consider all of the future child jews not born the number is incalculably large.
No. As of today (June 15th, 2014) I, Aerzo, commonly known as "The Epic", am announcing a total boycott of all multiplayers not in the famous Steamgruppe 2.0. God, I'm so great. Fuck you, faggots.
Holocaust relates to World War II which is the main focus of Hearts of Iron.
>here we talk about Grand Strategy games
>AI's armies getting wrecked by my much larger armies
>split army into smaller armies to siege
>suddenly an AI army slightly larger than one of my small armies appears and attacks
>my army appears to be losing
>instead of ping-ponging like the AI armies usually do, my entire army is wiped out
>every faggot declares war on me
10/10 game design, if you can't make the AI smarter just give the player a bunch of debuffs
Why would you even do that?
You forgot the part where the AI is apparently smart enough to support it's AI allies when it's fighting you, but your AI allies will run off somewhere else like a bunch of faggots instead of helping to reinforce your armies
>make tactical mistakes
>WTF THIS IS UNFAIR
The average grand strategy player, anno domini 20 and 14
I think the asset Paradox was going for was your leader's ability to focus on and oversee these developments. You can either oversee new military tech or focus on suppressing dissent in the realm. Countries under good leadership are more efficient at fostering these developments and get ahead while countries with less capable rulers fall behind, which is more or less the historical result.
Of course there's no real denying that monarch power was designed first to be an engaging gameplay mechanic, and isn't really concerned with actually representing how technological progress actually happened.
>literally no money
>can't even afford to maintain your own nuclear arsenal
>call in the US and tell them if they don't help clean this shit up the world's going to die
>being the biggest country in the world doesn't do jack shit against food shortages apparently
>sell your oil for grain to the USA
I'd fucking play it.
>Buy Eu4 cause it was on sale
>also buy the dlc because good goy
>inherit every great power in the game without doing much of anything
>actually take 1 province
>everyone in the map joins a coalitiin against me
How the fuck could paradox be so retarded? Are they trying to reward stupidity?
>It's not me it's the game
I've also played casual universalis 4 and, well...
The combat is rock solid. 90% of the info you need is right in your face. But if you close your eyes and only hope for the dice rolls then yes, you're going to have a bad time.
>I think the asset Paradox was going for was your leader's ability to focus
That sounds like a rather interesting idea, why didn't thesy just go with that. Sort of like the Council in CK2. I never had the feeling of real progress in the EU4 research system. It just felt exactly like purchasing a building, not like initiating reseearch and then see it pay off.
Has Paradox confirmed real minister names for HoI4? Or will the German version use fake names again, maybe even the international version?
Is that some kind of chinese knock-off Hitler?
The jews are trying to make the history of WWII as ambiguous as possible so that they can make up even more bullshit to guilt the new generation of Germans to enslave them even more.
>something that you have literally no control over is engaging.
No its just fucking dumb. Research was far better and made sense in EU3. Building buildings with bureaucrats made since. Culture conversion happening slowly over time rather than by pushing a button made sense. Everything about monarch power is shit.
They should have done the best option
Joachim von Ribbentrop - Ron Ribbentrop
Adolf Hitler - Adolf Hilter
Hermann Göring - Hermann MacGoring
Heinrich Himmler - Heinrich Bimmler
How do I git gud at Superpower 2?
I've played the tutorials but still I haven't understood the mechanics

>tfw spending 2 hours trying to figure out why France's oob wouldn't load

The game had a brokenish launch and that made it fall of the radar almost immediately and what few mods it got then were to fix the broken stuff. Now its fully working but most modders abandoned it.
I've got a craving for Finland, and the only cure is more dead Bolsheviks.
CK 1 was a better dynastic game, if you started as a vassal, you had to build your way up through dynastic unions, going from count to king took several generations, in CK 2 you just save money, make faction to obtain realm, hire mercenaries, win.
In CK 1 characters actually died in battles and from diseases, that can happen in CK 2 but is much more uncommon than in 1.
CK 2 is a game about blobbing and is far too easy to keep your realm united, in CK 1 you could blob, but the larger your realm the more unstable it was and civil wars were assured.
CK 1 was event driven, while CK 2 is just about decisions.
You want to kill someone? here use a plot.
You want to change culture or religion? here, use a decision
CK 2 has a much better interface and AI and it's not so buggy but it doesn't have that RPG feeling CK 1 had.
Yeah, from that perspective it would have made sense to invest monarch power on a monthly basis into tech instead of essentially having you buy it. Wouldn't be as different from the EU3 mechanics, but since monarch power is used in so many other ways there'd be reason to not invest everything and stockpile instead.
I don't mind it the way it is now though, it's certainly not the first game to handle progression like this.
How you get monarch power is limited but you have a lot of options in how to spend it, so everything has an opportunity cost. I prefer it to the system in EU3 where you put what you needed to in minting and stability and dumped the rest into whatever tech you wanted next.
I like having control over culture conversion and coring but they should take much longer, yes.
Should I convert these guys into just regular infantry or will they actually be better? They're stationed in a hilly province.
Mountain is actually really fucking good, but it'll force you to tech it and you don't have any mountain provinces in Finland, just hills. If you do decide to keep them, make sure to put them in a separate division under a Commando leader. Finland has several good ones.
pick whichever team has highest skill and a lot of overlap. autistically calculating tech speeds won't make you much more efficient, so don't worry about it too much.
Tech stuff that's in your year or before it, generally you'll want to prioritize like this:
research speed in industry > infantry techs > land doctrine > other industry techs > armor techs > rest
for production, just focus on infantry for your first few games. add a few MOT and ARM for penetration. HQs are useful for making armies fight more effectively. the rest is useless or niche.
The eastern menace took all my HRE vassals, but I've gotten to the prussian people in the clusterfuck that is eastern europe.
It's all the clay rightfully belonging to the German people. No one ever complains about Russia being fuckhuge with countless regions that don't even have a Russian majority. But if Germany gets some clay, it's an atrocity.
Also, I'm a
But eh EU3 system made sense both in a logical sense and as a game mechanic. You play well, you set sliders right, you run good policies, you get more cash and magistrates or whatever other resource is required to do the shit in game. The better you play the more you're rewarded.
Here it neither makes any fucking sense from a logical standpoint nor is it a good, engaging game mechanic. Just three resources used on absolutely fucking everything, and the amount you get is determined at random with hardly any player input going in to change the favour of it outside of hiring some advisors. It's utter bullshit and completely gamebreaking. As if mana as a resource system wasn't fucking horrible enough as is, its application in converting fucking cultures in a matter of a few years and gaining instant cores everywhere and generally used to execute every single fucking in-game action from waging war to constructing a building to taking a shit was terrible.
EUIV is a bad game. It just is. And when compared to it predecessor, it's absolutely fucking horrible. It's not engaging, it manages to have even less depth than EU3, it makes blobbing through inheritance piss easy as all fuck and yet at the same time pulls some insanely bullshit and unrealistic restrictions when doing it through conquest, and the decisions like forming Germany and shit are underwhelming as all fuck.
>playing Duke of Toulouse -> King of Navarre
>notice the King of Castille has a weak claim on England
>suddenly, the remnants of the Angevin Empire in France turn into Ireland
Castille somehow successfully pressed its claim on England, but the King of England had created the Kingdom of Ireland before the English crown was lost. It's weird and it upsets me somehow.
>leaving the Slovaks in the hands of the Magyars
I never said that germany can't blob, but russia has far more claim to its imperial land than germany does, considering that it's only been separated from it some 20-odd years whereas the HRE hasn't been a significantly centralized/homogenous entity for hundreds of years.
I'd really like Denmark to be part of Scandinavia, but partitioning the Jutland peninsula looks horrible, regardless where you divide it. And the country that get's Jutland gets the Archipelago with Sjaelland.
The Checks are closer to Germans than any other Slavs. Being surrounded by Germans for hundreds of years will do that to you. And there is no way to make Gross Germany look good without Bohemia and Moravia. It's and integral part of the Germanosphere.
Giving that filthy communist pigs control over the jewel that is Prague is one of the biggest crimes of history.
Switzerland should not exist. It's borders are atrocious. Period.
>but russia has far more claim to its imperial land
It doesn't. You're a fucking idiot.
Also keep in mind Germany was only neutered in the 20th century, that's not so long ago. And unlike Russia, the territories it held were majority German and places like Kalingrad Or Alsace-Lorraine no longer are because of mass deportation done on the part of the French/Russians.
Meanwhile you're saying Russia has claim to anything? Oh yeah because the majority population of fucking Finnland is Russian, right? Along with Estonia, latvia and lithuania, just russians there, right? Central Poland is all Russians too. Let me guess, all those fucking countries deported to poor Russians that made up 90% of the population in those areas? Shit even fucking Ukraine doesn't want anything to do with fucking Russia.
You're a fucking idiot.
>Croatia part of Austria
Probably just exhausting my manpower by doing this, but fuck those Bolsheviks
>No Japanese Empire
>Mongolia anything but a Russian protectorate
>No German Poznan
>Spain still controlling the new World
>Alaska not Canadian
>Entire North sea not British
>Bulgaria not big enough
>Top much France in Central Africa
>French German border not at the Rhine
>Finland too big and existing
These are only some problems, needs work anon
German Wallonia is the best scheme. France sucks at respecting regional identities, and Wallonia on its own just wouldn't jibe with the generally more blobular map going on there. Germany has a better track record at protecting minority and regional cultures than the French, aside from '33-'45, and so Wallonia ought to be part of Germany.
Are you seriously claiming that russia has no claim?
Meanwhile you are claiming countries like the Czech republic, which have less than a 1% german population? Are you shitting me?
Also did you read the list of countries that I claim that were russian clay? Can you point out to me where I name poland or finland?
And it's funny you should mention ukraine, since I'm from kiev and wholeheartedly support a reunification of slavic peoples. Meanwhile all you are doing is wanting to grab land that hasn't had any germans there living there for nearly a hundred years.
Any Germans that lived there were those that were transported by Bismarck. Before that, any german settlers submitted to local law and were polonized.
Saying that Germans have a claim to Poznan because they transported settlers there is like saying that Poland has a claim on Breslau or Ukraine on Crimea.
>Habsburgs - Purple
>China - Lime Green
>Burgundy - not Burgndy
>Ottomans - not red
>Belgium - Purple
>China Communist - Purple
I want to be sick
Almost done carving up distant territories to reduce the size of the hideous blob. Should I also release Ethiopia? Normally I would say yes, but it would leave me with an ugly extension into central Africa just west of it due to my inability to trade occupied territory.
You don't even know, man. I was just posting the abbreviated version of that thing.
Meanwhile what's the percentage of Estonians?
And no, I did not claim Chech republic does belong to Germany. Hitler's claims on Sudetenland on the other hand, were valid.
And your list is absolutely fucking retarded. I suggest you stick your head out of the fucking Russian propaganda machine.
>I'm from kiev
No wonder you're such a fucking idiot. Educate yourself on what the rest of the world is like first.
>any color scheme from AH.com
Close your account there and never look back. It's for the best.
>tfw no alt history mod for EvW ever
What sort of alt history would you liked to have seen anons?
The percentage of estonians is 75, far less than the percentage of native poles currently residing in everything east of oder neisse and non germans in czech republic.
Having those lands restored to germany makes zero sense now, where as there is plenty of support from former russian territories to come back.
And what the fuck are you even implying, I'm a ukrainian who wants to again see the glory of the slavic people, how would my opinion here not be of the utmost pertinence?
He's the one who built the thing, to be fair. No one else out of the ancient usenet discussion group bothered setting anything up.
Doesn't excuse his awful administration of the forums, though.
can someone explain this to me. Why does them having vassals make me unable to annex them? I'm supposed to annex them to complete this mission. How am I supposed to do it? Am I supposed to invade their vassals too? how do I do that?
>I'm going to ban anybody on the website who disagrees with me!
>I'm going to require people to always be polite in their discussions with one another but rampantly insult people myself and generally be a cunt to everybody!
>I'm going to prevent things that I don't like from being talked about on the website, because I don't like it!
Not to mention his SJW tendencies, Jesus Christ.
- Germany complies with the Munich Agreement
- Doesn't ally with Japan, but with China
- Japan allies USSR
- USSR invades Baltics and Poland
- Germany intervenes
- Allies, except GB, join on Germany's side
- USSR and Japan are beat
- Germany goes full Lebensraum, against the pleas of the Allies
- German-American cold war
- Nuclear Holocaust
The man was talking about those territories in a historic sense. No shit they have no claim to them now. They DID have claim at some point though.
In this post you fucking imply that Russia TO THIS FUCKING DAY has claims to territories it held before the fall of the Tzars, territories in most of which Russians weren't even a majority at any point, unlike with the German territories in question.
Russia doesn't have claim to shit. Get off Putin's dick.
>tfw a semi-immortal Turk stalling your dreams of a reborn Zoroastrian Persia
>tfw 77 IC queued to be finished within the next 3 years
I'm almost tempted to extend the game timeline just to see how far I can inflate it. Plus, the war refuses to end. I feel like realistically the sides would have signed an uneasy truce by now, given the total lack of significant progress lately.
>plenty of ukranians want to be a part of russia
>plenty of kazakhs want to be a part of russia
>plenty of balts want to be a part of russia
>russia has no claim
Sure thing m8.
As far as historic claim, germany has no more claim to switzerland or the czech republic than russia does to alaska, afghanistan or mongolia.
Now I know this seems a little far-fetched, but hear me out guys, I think this Europe would be neat to see.
And a much, much, much larger majority don't. Are you a Kazakh? Are you a Balt? No, you're neither. You're an unnter fucking dumbass Russianboo.
Because they totally existed within the same timeframe right?

Also, holy shit, that canal thing was expensive.
I'm not saying that russia has a right to annex them, but if you are saying that germany has a claim to an area that they lost in a war nearly a hundred years ago, then russia has a claim that is ten times stronger to its former territory that they lost thanks to western interventionism ie bolsheviks.
They don't, because while both the Russian and German areas were lost at the same time, the ones lost by Germany actually HAD a majority German population, unlike with the Russians in the Baltic for example.
I don't even know why I'm arguing with you. Clearly it's pointless considering you've received permanent brain damage from Putin's dick penetrating your white matter. They must have a really good propaganda campaign running over at Kiev.
>Is this achievable?
>conquering 2 regions
You an get that much in 15 years. You just gotta wait for the Hungarian rebellion and kebab getting stomped by Egypt.
>Anything I'm missing?
All of Yugoslavia.
You really wanna piss off both Austria AND Ottomans, the two nations you are tightly squished between? I'd say forget the Austrian territory, maybe go for Serbia and take off some more Turk.
Has VeF gotten better or worse after the WoN update? I want to know if it's safe to play or if pic related will happen again.
>Russian and German areas were lost at the same time
What? Russia didn't lose those core areas I outlined until the fall of the soviet union, in 1991.
Germany lost territory either in 1918 or 1945.
Nearly no germans actually live in those areas now, where as plenty of russians do, and russian is still the main language spoken in plenty of them (most people I speak with actually talk in russian, despite this being the nation's capital).
And it's hilariour that you are accusing me of being brainwashed by the propaganda in kiev, the city that was overthrown by a fascist anti-russian government.
I wanted the rest of this region to appease my autism but it might only aggravate it. We'll see how things go with kebab.
Should I shoot for Russia as my patron saint as usual?
You just mentioned Bolsheviks you dumb fuck. Do you know who signed the peace treaty between Russia and Germany during WWI and the resulting territorial changes?
The rest of your post just reeks of illiteracy and dumbassery.
>russian is still the main language spoken in plenty of them
Russian isn't even the second national language in the Baltic countries you fucking retard. Rightfully so.
>fascist anti-russian government.
Man, Svoboda doesn't even have the Defense ministry anymore. Agriculture and "Ecology and Natural Resources of Ukraine" are the only two ministries they got, neither of which deeply involves social policy or camps or whatever the fuck.
>I wanted the rest of this region to appease my autism but it might only aggravate it.
It's called Vojvodina. And why should you not go for it? What else are you gonna do for 100 years? Go Yugo or you will be bored to tears.
>one quarter of the population is ethnically russian
>russian isn't the second language
You do realize that the only reason that russia lost ww1 was because of the bolsheviks, as supported by the USA, the uk and germany, right?
In any case, the actually territory was not separated from the russian nation until 1991, where germany lost its land a hundred years ago.
>the bolsheviks, as supported by the USA, the uk
>supporting people who were actively fighting against the Entente-recognized government of Russia
>supporting people who were actively fighting to pull Russia out of the war and out of the Entente
what kind of horseshit is this
First you tear a country apart, then you profit from its weakness.
The allies (especially the uk and us) were in no danger during the whole war.

Also, I'm having a hard time deciding what to do here. My original plan was to
reform and form Scandinavia, then have only Denamrk and Finland as vassels will holding Iceland and Gotland for myself, but Denamrk's being a beast here. Should I take Iceland and swear loyalty to him?
You haven't actually produced any refutation here.
America has routinely toppled powerful leaders and healthy nations and replaced them with someone that they could screw more easily.
It just so happened that based stalin wasn't going to have any of it this time.
>America has routinely toppled powerful leaders and healthy nations and replaced them with someone that they could screw more easily.
>implying either Nicholas II or Kerensky were powerful leaders of healthy nations
Dude its improbable maybe some super capitalists helped the reds but they also would had helped the whites money man. There is no sensible way the entete would had helped the reds. Also this is in a time when america was more isolationist.
How the fuck does quick save work in CK2? Is there a corresponding quick load?
I've reinstalled the game and played a campaign for 8 hours straight, quick saving every once in a while until the crashed during autosave.
I've loaded up the game again and the only save available when I click saved games is oldautosave, which is 10 years before the time the game crashed. I'm mad as fuck.
What the shit?
Truly God is a Croat
First Austria asks for an alliance, then my war justification goes off without a hitch, no infamy, then Austria ACCEPTS my bullshit call to war and kicks the Turks' asses while they're in Egypt. This is too good
The russian empire was indeed a healthy nation, rising from feudalism and slowly industrializing.
It managed to do pretty well against a much against a far more advanced foe (germany) despite having its population be incited by jews and banksters.
You see america doing the same thing today (iraq, afghanistan, libya etc) despite being a supposedly peaceful and enlightened nation.
What's so hard to believe that they would do the same thing a hundred years ago when barely anyone was aware of their actions?
Ya also today america is a good deal different this is a hundred years ago today america is world police and everyone knows it. Back then america wasnt even a world power. You dont say Germany was attacking everyone everywere a hundred years ago so they will today.
What are some sketchy sites where I can buy CK2 expansions, to activate on Steam?
>317k dead germans
>550k dead austrians
>2254k dead russians
That's not bad for a a nation that recently outlawed serfdom and had one of the biggest revolution in the history of the world occurring at the time.
>The russian empire was indeed a healthy nation, rising from feudalism and slowly industrializing.
Everybody else worth a spit had done that a century earlier. Russia was lagging behind and Nicholas listened more to that fornicating priest than he did the likes of Sergei Witte, which was damn foolish of him.
>It managed to do pretty well against a much against a far more advanced foe (germany)
That aside, they also fared poorly ten years prior, Port Arthur and all that.
OOBs are much worse than pop modding.
This shit is so fucking dull
Why the fuck is CK2 so goddamn easy? I got it a week ago and after like 4 tries I finally figured out how to play and can now dominate the world if I want. I have a larger retinue than any other country's levies.
>declare on Britain to release Canada from being a satellite
>use Amerikanski as the muscle in the operation
>get like bazillion prestige
>shoot right to great power with this industrial/military score
Oh god what?
/gsg/ likes to fellate Kaiser Bill's cock, but the Kaiser and his ministers were a bunch of damn fools who misjudged things plenty.
Bloody Sunday and all of 1905 should've been an indicator enough that the Imperial Russian government wasn't fit to last, and either was going to have to undergo substantial (and likely drawn-out and plagued with unrest) reforms or try to pretend nothing bad was happening and then implode in revolution the next time a crisis came around.
What reforms and improvements Russia /did/ act on usually relied on foreign investment and involvement anyways, which also goes contrary to the point of old Russia being a strong, independent great power who don't need no man. Heck, the ferries that criss-crossed Lake Baikal to complete the Trans-Siberian railroad were made in Britain and the locomotives were made in America!
>misha, here is mosin nagant
>don't worry if lose mosin nagant, there is so many americans will still be buying thousands of surplus in hundred years
>don't worry if lose life, there is so many germans will still be killing millions in thirty years
>just point mosin nagant at german, pull trigger, boom
>how you know who german?
>german have boots!
Do you have any idea what your talking about? Like at all? The UK started industrializing in the late 1700s. And preety much everyone Italy Germany Uk USA France was in full swing by 1880 except russia.
You get gun.
You don't get gun, eef see gun, take gun. Here, have boolets.
You get gun.
You don't get gun, eef see gun, take gun. Here, have boolets.
You get gun.
You don't get gun, eef see gun, take gun. Here, have boolets.
Eef see men without gun step back, shoot men without gun.
>>german have boots!
>great grandfather is Polish farmer in easternmost part of Silesia
>drafted to Imperial German Army with brother
>sent to Verdun
>70% of unit dead, including his brother
>great grandfather got shot in arm
>received some first aid
>"ok your unit is dissolved, you can go home"
>receive no pay
>have to go back 1200 kilometers back to home village on foot
>boots fall apart halfway through
>mom won't even let you back into the houseafter you come back because you're so filthy, need to get a good bath and scrubbing outside first
>also arm got some complications and had to be amputated
Seriously, fuck WWI.
Have you looked at russia on a map recently?
Note how its a shitload bigger than all of europe combined, far more removed from the west and has very little naval access?
Russia just barely removed serfdom, it was still an agrarian state.
And despite this it had industrial outputs close to the major european industrial nations.
If russia didn't get fucked over by bankrolled bolsheviks then it would have caught up to germany in twenty or so years (a big part of the revolution was the plight of newly arriving city workers in neophite russian urban centers).
>He stated that under no circumstances did he want a peaceful solution, and though he did not want a preventive war, he would not “jib at the post” if such a war came because Germany was ready for it, and Russia “fundamentally was not”. Russia and Germany being destined to fight each other, Jagow believed that now was the best time for the inevitable war, because: “in a few years Russia...will be ready. Then she will crush us on land by weight of numbers, and she will have her Baltic Fleet and her strategic railroads ready. Our group meanwhile is getting weaker”.
> Riezler’s diary has Bethmann Hollweg saying to him on July 20 that Russia with its “growing demands and tremendous dynamic power would be impossible to repel in a few years, especially if the present European constellation continues to exist.”
Some supermen you are, can't even make good boots.
WW2 was a doozy though, great-grandpa got German citizenship by the start of October 1939 and spent the next six years drinking with the local garrison until they ran away.
Then he joined the Communist party of Poland.
Yes, because if Russia was able to stockpile ammuniton and matterials for war she might actually be able to use her millions of peasants for something useful.
Assuming their general staff and military leaders aren't completely fucking retarded
oh wait they were
>Note how its a shitload bigger than all of europe combined, far more removed from the west and has very little naval access?
To be fair on that, a lot of that space is Siberia and fuckall noone lives there or ever has lived there. European Russia is still large, yeah, but talking about the vastness of Russia like the whole damn thing is actually worth something is like the US talking about how all of it is worth a damn when there's the Great Plains and Alaska and New Jersey to account for.
Kebab = greatest ally
All I had to do was separate peace Morocco by revoking a reform and they knew what to do.
Rate my Armenia so far
- taking remaining de jure land from Greeks
- installing my dynasty on the Georgian throne
- creating a kingdom in Al-Jazira under my dynasty
- creating a kingdom in Mesopotamia under m dynasty
What else should I do?
Having to reorganize almost 100 air units and over 200 ships is going to be painful.
And it's silly to think that their fears were unfounded, considering that the Soviet Union was a dominant superpower even after suffering through two horrible world wars, a civil war, and being run by communists.
yfw Poland is the strongest single power in Russia
What in the fuck is going on here
One of the largest armies in the world and it gives it a score of 0?
some German vassals of Milan. When HRE doesn't immediately break up things get weird fast.
Jesus christ what world is this
>Germany still hasn't invaded the Americas after nearly 14 years
It's like I have to do everything myself around here.
There's that word again. Let me let you in on a secret: They're not fucking fascists. Ironically enough they're opposing the true fascists in Russia who want to unite all the slavic peoples perform nationalized industry etc etc. Ukraine isn't fucking fascist and every time someone uses that incorrectly I want to punch them in the kidneys.
We'll see how that goes. I foolishly forgot that USA has a land connection of allies or countries giving them access all the way through South America, thus allowing them to do strategic redeployment and already be here to kick me out.
>mary Italian duches
>inherit piece of Italy when ruler dies
i wasn't even paying attention.jpeg
Not him, but Tymoschenko's term was marked by nationalistic measures. Anti-gay laws, anti-minorities laws, cases of burned Romanian Orthodox churches [who were leaning toward the Romanian Metropolitan Bishop instead of Moscow's], and many other nasty stuff. Fascist isn't exactly the right term, since it only applies to Mussolini's Italy, but Ukraine did its fair share of "fascist" actions
Better dead than red.
Captcha: ylyour Lord
Truly a sign from Jesus Christ himself.
Well, so much for the solo Persian invasion of Brazil.
Jesus fucking christ I've had a combined 4 years without a regency this game, 4 fucking years
I've formed Great Colombia and become 3rd GP and now I want to conquer Spain in revenge for the colonisation of the Muricas do you think it's possible? For making things harder they have been sphered by France
This is the most believable Jerusalem I've had so far. The King of Hungary, the senior brother of the Pope by three years, won the Crusade and installed their nephew on the throne.
Finally managed to create the Kingdom of Aquitaine, so all the land I own is de jure. Which is the better title to set as primary-- Aquitaine or Navarra? Navarra was the first crown I got, but my character and dynasty have all been Occitan and making Aquitaine the primary title would be more befitting for that, right?
How do I explore the lake? I think it's the last spot on the map to get the achievement.
I tried patroling around with a conquistador, but it did nothing. Do I have to conquer the provinces around it? Is it an event?
I'll probably post updates every 50-100 years
>Holy Roman Emperor pressed anti-pope's claim on the Papacy, wins
>Holy Roman Emperor gets vassalized pope
>Holy Roman Emperor sets up new anti-pope
I'm going to kill the HRE.
Nationalists are holding on somehow. Front has been stable for at least a year.
And we're back with the worst borders you have ever seen.
For those of you who don't remember, this is a converted 867 CK2 save that I fully intend to take all the way through HoI3 (or DH, if I can convert it properly). The purpose is primarily to see how horribly Johan's AI will butcher the world in over 1,000 years, but to keep things interesting I have endeavored to spread the Norse faith as far as possible.
