3DS: 9.2 (10.3 downgrade, 10.5 userland only, eShop NVer 30 only)
Wii U: 5.4 Loadiine (5.5.1 IOSU exploit coming soon™)
Vita: 3.51 (Userland)
PS4: 1.76 (Webkit)
PS3: 3.55 (CFW)
EmuNAND 10.5 is supported by all CFW; Exception n3DS rxTools ≤ 9.5 only
-10.4 fixed memchunkhax2, the ARM11 kernel exploit necessary to downgrade. Menuhax and Browserhax still work, but that's it.
-Browserhax will be useless from 9.9 to 10.4 if you A) never opened the browser or B) open it now without the Tubehax DNS.
-3DS users over 10.3 can downgrade with a hardmod http://gbatemp.net/threads/412836/
-TuxSH released homebrew allowing you to read, write, and erase save files from NDS cartridges https://github.com/TuxSH/TWLSaveTool
>Is downgrading safe?
Not really. If you try, you only have one shot. If it fails, you'll be forced to update to 10.5. You might want to wait on ≤ 10.3 without updating, even though at the moment it doesn't seem there is going to be a safer way.
-5.4 Loadiine out now http://05sonicblue.com/wiiuhax
-IOSU: 3.0.1 is 100% done, 5.3.2 is being worked on, 5.5 and 5.5.1 are almost done
-Yellows8's .mp4 exploit has not been patched in 5.5.1
Rebug CFW REX and D-REX for firmware 4.78 have been released http://rebug.me/official-rebug-4-78-1-cobra-7-2-toolbox-2-02-09-jan-26th-2016/
-Update 3.57, mandatory for online, fixes all eCFW and bubble exploits.
okay so I installed both cakes and rxtools on my o3ds and everything seems to work, most games run just fine but when I try to play either MHX or MH4U I get the "an error has occurred, turn off your 3ds" shit.
I just realized what's going on. I read that the o3ds has trouble playing certain games for some reason (Smash, MH4U, MHX). the anon posted how to fix it but I don't remember what he said, it's been weeks.
iosu will probably still happen but hykem is sperging because the mean kiddos at gbatemp asked him why he named a release date if he's not going to keep it
aka asking the same thing anyone would ask if someone failed to meet a deadline they set themselves
Pleasantly surprised to find that Amazon shipped my new sd card 5 days earlier, how did I do? I'm ready to load up on games I'll never play
>how do i get gba games to work on rx tools 9.5 on a new 3dsxl?
DSFlashcard, injection, or install gpsp with GBA bios. Since you have a N3DS, I recommend gpsp, since I assume you don't give a shit about the multiplayer. Download the bios, then name it something like gba_bios.bin and put it in /retroarch/cores/system and then most gba games will run very well. Gpsp might run into some problems and crash occasionally, but out of the last 8 hours or so, I've only had it crash once or twice.
I installed fbi into hs.app with the Universal Inject Generator but when I injected it into sysnand, it disappeared. it doesn't even show up into my sysnand. I can't find a proper backup, is there anything I can do?
You should still have a proper backup sitting in the generator's input folder.
Keep in mind that H&S not appearing when you're in plain SysNAND mode is normal. You need CFW that runs in SysNAND mode like Pasta/MiniPasta or anything that can have EmuNAND turned off.
Get cakes and in the cakes menu go to plugins and enable the keep active after reboot(or something like that.
Or just enable them all, it'll be fine anyways.
Now all those will work fine.
You can remove rxtools since it's shit and cakes will work better anyways.
What way is the safest to back up your shit without doing a full disk copy of the sd? (which I do anyway, I just want one that is less time consuming).
Let's say I fuck up an emunand update (like updating to 10.5), do I just inject back the emunand backup? will that allow me to keep my shit untouched and the old emunand firmware is restored?
I'm asking since I'm going to manually update the firmware and I'm afraid of fucking up.
are the ambassador gba games different then a gba cia?
can i just install them through emunand? or do i have to hop through another hoop to get them to work?
sweet, just checked and it works. that was the only thing the guide didn't make clear. thanks /hbg/, have a rare Lazuli
>I'm going to manually update the firmware
You don't manually update the firmware because you WILL fuck up.
sysupdater updates sysnand, not emunand.
BTW, you can't fuck up emunand update unless you try to system update with low battery and it shutdowns halfway through the update.
When you transfer emuNANDS from one sd card to another, do the games installed via cia stay in the new sd or do I have to install the cias all over again? Also, do the save files stay there?
I tried to test >>130557161 by make a new save on MHX, importing extdata, deleting the save, then importing the extdata and it didn't work.
i just modded my original xbox. how do i burn games onto disks? do i just simply burn it onto a disk? because with the ps2 i did the mistake of doing that when i had to patch the disk first
I was thinking of doing this: https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-how-to-update-emunand-on-a-n3ds.393701/
But instead of 9.5 I was going to use 10.3 since I want to play FE:If (Fates).
This is because if I attempt to update the emunand like normal through system settings it will make me update to 10.5, am I wrong? I'm just assuming it will do that, and I want to avoid it.
Also I have a complete image backup of the SD with sysnand and emunand both on 9.2, I can just restore that image and have it working again. Or not? I'm not experienced with it so I'm just going by assumptions and reading old forum postings.
There's no reason to avoid updating emunand to 10.5.
And you're correct, if you do have emunand backup of 9.2 you can always just restore the backup and be back on 9.2 if you so desire.
You check downgrading in hbl by installing menuhax again(don't forget opening the theme manager again)
So I got a new DS the other day, which came with 9.9. Got browser nagged and spent about an hour trying to get browserhax working. Finally got it after blocking nintendo's IPs, installed menuhax, got 9.2 and began my journey with sysUpdater.
Tried to run sysUpdater about 300-500 times with varying levels of success, but I only got to the actual cia upgrade process one time. And it fucking crashed halfway through.
So now I'm stuck on a system that won't boot unless I pull the SD card out. Menuhax won't boot, just gives me a black screen. Browser is still nagged but system settings says I'm on 9.2. Is there anything I can do to get out of this, or am I fucked and have to just upgrade to 10.5 and give up on my homebrew dreams?
Well I found the actual problem. It was just me being a massive retard and not setting up the internet settings again after unlinking NANDs which made them reset in sysNAND only.
I should really learn to start with the obvious when something goes wrong.
What? I was simply asking where I could buy N3DS XL top screens that are IPS instead of TN.
Some models of the N3DS XL came with IPS screens, and some came with TN screens. I don't want to keep returning my 3DS to the store until I magically find one that's using an IPS screen.
>There's no reason to avoid updating emunand to 10.5.
I'm on reinand+ntr in an N3DS, his github page says his release supports 10.2 nativefirmware which is up to 10.3, >10.4 it's a different nativefirmware.
Won't it fuck me?
I mean I could just try and restore it if it goes wrong, but I'd rather avoid trial and error if there's already people who know what's up.
I can't access ninjhax again (probably because the version number changed) and I didn't have an internet connection saved so I can't reinstall ninjhax and I can't access internet settings. What do I do?
why wouldn't you try to downgrade before buying anything extra?
With the today system maintenence, now the use of friend list requires a updated console
So anons, I need your help. 10.5 ReiNAND and 9.2 SysNand, just upgraded my 32gb card to a 128GB card which I paid 30$ for. How do I transfer everything? How long will it take? I just need to format my card to FAT32 right?
So, I followed https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ERDWurWHe_Y but now when I try to play Endless ocean (dvd not installed) it just tries to update my wii. The fuck do i do? I'm guessing I shouldn't update, but I had updated before following the guide so what the hell?
Since I found a new way to be retarded maybe someone should put in the retard guide to remember to set your internet settings in sysNAND's system settings after unlinking NANDs.
It wouldn't be as much of a problem if menuhax manager had more accurate error messages but it just thinks something went wrong with downloading the correct payload and suggests maybe your system version is not supported. I know it's dumb as shit to not think of the internet settings but it's a guide for retards after all.
BestBuy. I photoshopped some Amazon results to list it as 34.99 and BestBuy will price match + 10% of the difference off. So I paid 30.49 or something for it. If you want I have more screenshots. I bought 2. Go to the store and if they say they're out of stock ask to MCF which is an order shipped to your house but can still be pricematched (Online orders cannot)
So I can apparently launch my dvd title through the USB manager thing that installed and mounting the drive to it, but Is that shit supposed to be that way? am I supposed to be prompted to update by trying to load a normal disk game? Did I fuck my wii up or something?
Multiplayer isn't really implemented on emulators, last I knew. But really, you'd probably need someone else with a cfw 3DS, and I haven't met anyone who I didn't set theirs up who had it.
They fixed their cryptography. That shit isn't feasible breakable unless people do stupid things like Sony was in the first place using a constant while generating keys. On newer consoles this is fixed in hardware, for exploitable hw they fixed the exploits so there's no entry point.
What were you expecting, magic? No one's gonna be willing to work on bypassing in software what you can get past through just connecting a flasher and installing older fw. Cracking newer consoles? Sony spent lots of effort closing down their platform again, it's unrealistic to think anyone will find a way past their new defences.
It's a cheap fucking toy, just buy the necessary hardware or an exploitable system instead of continuing these delusions of yours. New hacks will never happen
Can you run browserhax to reinstall menuhax?
As for the sysUpdater part I used the cpasjuste one from pastebin after crashing the one provided by the guide like 30 times and it worked no problem.
>go in really early or really late
>get a tard/woman to cash you out
>live in Canada
>work at the location previously
Reminder I live in Canada so I paid like 20$ American for it.
Yeah recovery will put me at 10.5
It came with 9.9, and I started the downgrade to 9.2 which failed because sysUpdater is a steaming pile of shit. So now I'm on some unstable, unpredictable mix of 9.2 and 9.9
I did browserhax->menuhax to get to sysUpdater in the first place. The problem is my browser is nagged (even after the failed upgrade) so browserhax takes like 1000 tries to work.
>cousin formats my 3ds because he was mad at me
>it was in emunand
Any file I can backup?
I got 3 3DSs, A 9.3, 10.3, and a 10.4. The first 2 can be used, but with what hacks? and the third os out of the question because of 10.4. I want to get into this but where should I start? I read the guides, but there is several ones, both of the two have youtube, so am I able to just do tubehax and go from there or what? All of the threats of it giving only 1 shot at it makes me hesitant at just trying things till it works.
Try Smashhax or OoThax to boot hbl and run sysupdater from there to try and get 9.2 to install correctly.
If you have an o3ds I would recommend installing 4.0 instead tho.
Okay, I want you to try something.
The reason why your 3DS blackscreens when you boot with your SD card is because it's trying to load MenuHax on 9.2 with 9.9 files. You can fix this by changing your theme (which will remove menuhax), HOWEVER if you do that you won't be able to get back into the homebrew menu (unless you have OOT3D and a powersaves),
So, copy this ropbin file onto your sd card, and delete the ropbin file that was already on the sd card previously (but make sure you keep the exact filename of it somewhere, just in case) .
Also, before I give you the correct ropbin, is your 3DS a N3DS or O3DS?
OUT FOR DELIVERY Fifteen Minutes Ago
QUICK, I NEED 64GB OF GAMES TO PIRATE.
Anyone halp? I answered other anons questions.
>Getting released 2 months later than europe
English cia when?
Okay I need some assistance here, I have the following items:
NTSC-U o3DS with rxTools
PAL OoT3D game cart (literally a sealed launch copy, if that makes a difference)
I am thinking of purchasing a PAL n3DS and am hoping I can use the above to downgrade it if the console is above 9.2.
Can I put the PAL cart into the NTSC-U o3DS, install the hack on the cart and then put it into a PAL n3DS and get homebrew access?
Found a copy of Cubic Ninja at gamesphagetti, got ninjhax working and conclusively the homebrew launcher. I want to keep all of my nice digital games safe, how can I ensure their safety, as I assume they aren't something I can backup and then replace later on. I need more space being main reason...
Which region is it?
Also, like I've said. Menuhax is not working (black screen when you turn your N3DS on) because you installed it on 9.9. It's using the 9.9 ropbin, which doesn't work on 9.2.
Now, in theory this should allow you to boot into Menuhax by holding L while you boot your 3ds.
I downloaded the game Sayonara UmiharaKawase and is there something I'm fucking missing here?
>Game just throws you in with no explanation of story or anything that's going on
>Profiles for characters have shit like time travellers and childhood friends like there is some kind of story going on
>Had to watch the stage tutorial for stage 9 because there was literally no indication of what to do to beat the giant tadpole
>Still surprised about what I was expected to do
I just feel I'm really missing something here
Try putting this on your SD card
And like I've said, remove the already existing ropbin but keep the filename of it somewhere.
NTR does work with 10.5
Sorry for the delay, I was looking for how to use FTP and this guide is up to date: http://www.se7ensins.com/forums/threads/how-to-ftp-to-modded-original-xbox-with-filezilla-and-unleashx.1407549/
Not really, that's the game. It's a game very much about not handholding you in the slightest with some very basic controls that let you do crazy things and a backstory that exists only to (slightly) explain character powers.
The older games had even less handholding, you probably wouldn't even figure out the game's win/loss conditions by yourself.
Game thrives on you experimenting wtih how you use your lure.
>Game just throws you in with no explanation of story or anything that's going on
>Profiles for characters have shit like time travellers and childhood friends like there is some kind of story going on
Game has no story.
>Had to watch the stage tutorial for stage 9 because there was literally no indication of what to do to beat the giant tadpole
Some of the bosses i will admit are a bit of a trial and error to learn how to beat and you might have to look it up unfortunately.
Also play the game on PC, it runs a 60fps
Alright so I updated ReiNand, added the updated firmware file to the SD card and unlinked my NAND's with the TinyFormat tool in the pastebin.
Seems to have reset my 3DS, and now holding L when powering on doesn't work. Is this normal? Do I need to reinstall the browserhax homebrew shit now?
Alright I need some help. I'm the anon who just bought a 128Gb micrso SD. When I plug it into computer using the supplied adapter it appears for 3 or so seconds, then dissapears, then reappears and it means I can't get anything done. Any fixes?
is crtboot maanager and the dsn block the most kid friendly way to set up a 2ds?
im thinking about buying one for my 6 year old niece but im afraid that she will go full retard and fuck shit up, shes currently using my old ds lite and my cyclo ds
Well then, you have to remove Menuhax. Remove your SD, turn your 3DS on, and then put it back in. Then, go to the theme settings and change your theme.
To get back into the HBL, eh. You could either keep trying to launch the browser (to get past the update nag), or get Oot3D and a powersaves dongle, unless you can find a cheap copy of Cubic Ninja.
>when trying to boot cakes I get a black screen
Fucking anon jynx'd it.
I'm ok with getting oot and powersaves if that means not upgrading to 10.5. Is it a reasonable assumption that HBL will work even though my system software is fucked?
Regardless thanks for the help.
P A N I C
IT'S ALL OVER BROS
Well, honestly, I have no idea. I once had a partial downgrade from 9.9 to 9.2, which didn't let me open the browser (console crashed) or the settings (console crashed), but I decided to get oot3d and powersaves to try it out, and simply re-ran safesysupdater.
After that it worked perfectly.
Is there a way to manually install specific firmware versions onto my O3DS? I have rxtools at 9.2 but can't do a normal update. It just kicks me to "preparing the home menu" then black screen.
Dumb question but the answers I find through google are not exactly what I'm looking for.
If I put a new SD (empty) in a 3DS, what happens? I can't test it out myself.
Since the NAND is on the SD, does the 3DS download a firmware to put it on the SD or how does this shit work?
So, after updating my emuNAND.
I get the "Updating Home Menu" message at the touch screen, then it disappears, and only a black screen remains.
I tried all different CFWs before anyone starts blaming one.
I have no idea what terrible guide you followed, but you should be at 4.3 anyway. Disc updates are still a thing. If you want to not have to worry about that, you should have had Priiloader installed and set to block updates. With disc games you're still going to have the updates stored to the disc. If you're prompted to update, it means you're missing ios files contained in the update. As far as the rare "this game needs an update" message you'll find on Wii, it's fine to install game updates.
tl;dr Yes, you're still going to be prompted to update if you're on a lower firmware and do not have the correct ios system files installed. Just block updates and install the files you need. Google and Wiihacks are your best resources for this.
Oh, and I guess it wouldn't hurt to mention. Your best bet is to Google Mauifrog's Wii Hacking Guide and find the Wiihacks link, then start on that from scratch.
In fact, while waiting for Captcha to catch up I just Googled "Wiihacks" and it was literally the first sub-result of the first result.
Thanks nigga got it reinstalled.
Alright I think I'm all set to upgrade to 10.5. Should I start homebrew launcher > emuNAND from power on menu, or L + boot, into rei 9.2 and then launch the homebrew launcher from their and start emuNAND that way?
Do you not understand what the fucking emuNAND does? it will always be patched because it's booted patched, so updating it will not do anything bad, as long as you're 100% sure it's the emuNAND you're updating.
If menuhax no longer works you can get it back by doing this:
1) Backup the "boot.3dsx" file on your SD card
2) Download this: https://mega.nz/#!WB0yVDQA!PwkTzA3686cQLs9uCByMVMc0FZic8tPy8xfpu63aaBs
3) Add the downloaded "boot.3dsx" file to your SD card
4) Place the SD card back into your 3DS
5) Turn on the 3DS (don't hold L so that you boot into sysNAND)
6) Go into the theme settings (top left button > change theme) and let it install some files. Once it has finished, press B.
7) Press L + R to get into the camera
8) Tap the QR button above the quit button (botom left of the screen)
9) Open this website in your PC's browser: http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax.php
10) Scan the QR code and open the link in the 3DS browser
11) Once it loads, zoom in on the bottom screen and you will see a slider at the top left
12) Tap the far left side of the slider and the homebrew launcher should start
13) Install menuhax like you did before
14) Once it has installed and you have made any changes you want (such as what button activates menuhax) turn off the console.
15) Put the SD card back into your PC
16) Delete the boot.3dsx on your SD card
17) Copy the boot.3dsx backup you made in step 1 of this section back onto the SD card
18) That's it!; Now you have menuhax back and working like normal.
This worked for me, was getting the same shit as you.
Thanks, that fixed it.
Never happened before and this is like the 6th 3DS I'm setting up.
Even restored my emuNAND and tried updating again earlier.
Any know reason this is happening?
Didn't you hear?
You have on the latest system update to do anything online now
Pretty sure there's something in there about game carts you can use to update offline.
First result in Google says "some cooking game" will contain a 9.2 update. I'm not doing any more of your work for you.
I was a dev at the time, and I tested shit with geohotz (IRC dev chat blah blah), I know.
But it wasn't just crypto. Just having the master key did nothing. They ALSO had a Kernel exploit. The PS3 basically had a REALLY REALLY bad period where fucking EVERYTHING broke all at once and the stars aligned.
Did that almost every time.
>11) Once it loads, zoom in on the bottom screen and you will see a slider at the top left
How do zoom into a freaking video bar?
I tried grabbing the slider but it either disappears too fast or freezes when I touch the screen.
How do I update just Rxtools? I'm on 2.6 and want 3.0
Bad menuhax data.
This shit was driving me insane when I did my N3DS, so whenever I see someone else with the problem I try to help.
>How do zoom into a freaking video bar? I tried grabbing the slider but it either disappears too fast or freezes when I touch the screen.
Ignore that bit, doesn't seem to matter
I know about the games, I already looked up the info. It doesn't seem like anything has 9.2 in the US from what I checked though, only for Europe. Most of the 9.0 games are eShop only.
Thanks, the guide i followed never even mentioned holding reset would let me edit and patch shit to block disk/system updates, it works now. but fuck I guess I followed a shit guide, ended up going to wiihacks and reinstalling proper wads/ios updates.
So I should be good now correct? I got zero errors on the 30 files + 25 ios update files, 4.3U, all my homebrew works (emulators, usb manager, once I get an external anyways) I can play disk games now that I've patched it apparently, blocked all updates, etc. Should I also enable Region free everything? I see a lot of euro isos for wii, guessing I should but the guide said don't enable shit if you don't know for sure it's what you need/want.
clinton reference. don't worry about it.
Alright I'm on the following steps below (sorry for copying so much shit but I'm not smart enough to explain it), however I don't have rxTools and haven't been using that this entire time, only things I'm using are ReiNAND, EmuNAND, FBI and menuhax afaik.
I'm getting the error where when I try to boot into EmuNAND to update (After doing the NAND unlink shit), it just cycles me back to ReiNAND's purple boot screen. Is there an equivalent fix of what's listed below since I'm not using this rxTools thing?
"1) Turn on the console and get into the menuhax (by default, hold L when booting)
2) Select rxTools BUT DO NOT ENTER MENUHAX. This means that you shouldn't be holding the menuhax trigger (default is L) while rxTools loads. If you changed the menuhax settings, you need to make sure you are NOT activating menuhax when you enter rxTools.
3) You should now boot into your emuNAND as normal
4) While in emuNAND, change your theme to disable menuhax (the specific theme does not matter)
5) Turn the console off after changing the theme.
5) menuhax has now been removed from the emuNAND and should now work as intended."
Depending on how you performed the unlinking it will be quite a hassle.
Also, when it asks you how to perform the card contents transfer, DO NOT CHOOSE PC. YOU MUST DO AN OVER THE AIR TRANSFER.
I did it over PC and now I must wait 2 weeks to be able to transfer everything right because the reboot when it finishes the system transfer doesn't finish right if you choose PC transfer.
And I can't unlink my nnid account from the 3ds I preformed the system transfer to and use the nnid on the system I transfered out of to try it again. I must transfer the nnid back to the 1st system and then wait 7 days(AGAIN) to perform everything right.
Anyways when you perform it, please write an update about how it went as I'm very interested in knowing if these steps are the right ones.
Hey guys, need some help figuring out an entry point to install menuhax and homebrew.
I have a vanilla 10.3 N3DS, currently using the tubehax DNS settings, but I can't use the browser because I get an error after 5 seconds when I try opening it.
What options do I even have?
Anyone have access to Gaist Crusher God? Seems like a reasonably fun animu beat 'em up that was only released in Japan. Can't seem to find a download.
Wait, I think I'm retarded.
If I go into system settings in emuNAND, it will always boot me back into sysNAND after right? I remember reading both in pastebins and this thread that that is normal.
However, before I update emuNAND i need to check and make sure I'm on it by checking the version and making sure I'm on rx, how the fuck do I do that and then update without kicking myself out to sysNAND
cakes is probably the quickest way to format your SD
I'm trying to get Invisible Kingdom to work and have been following these guides:
I already had to get a more up to date bootNTR (from here: https://github.com/Shadowtrance/BootNTR/releases) than whats linked to get that app to work properly. It works now, but there's no green flash on the top screen when I launch Fire Emblem and the choice to do IK isn't available at chapter 6.
Anyone have any idea what I did wrong?
Do I update reinand the same way I update rxtools, but booting into reinand, going to system settings and updating in there? Or is it different?
Yes but the downgrade process is rather unstable so there's no safe way to do it that will work for sure. You can try and if it fails you'll have to update to 10.5 which means you can't try again.
I'm using rxtools. I installed the .cia to both sysNAND and emuNAND but>>130600979
won't install. The game is appearing in emuNAND but not sysNAND so I'm assuming something is wrong
When you launch rxtools hold L to bring up the rxtools menu, go to Advanced, then launch Pasta Mode. Install there, that's sysnand without sig checks and shit. Then try launching it from Pasta Mode first before going back into emuNAND to see if it worked.
Yes, that should be fine. Even with errors, most shit usually just works. There will be fine tuning you'll need to do for individual games. You'll just need to search for solutions when the time comes. Region free is harmless but most games are patched to region free anyway. The warning is so that dumb people don't brick their Wii. You seem at least a bit smarter than that.
The hard part is finding games now that bitgamer and Hippyfreak are dead, but I've found some tough ones. My advice is to get a Romulation account right now and idle the hell out of it (like, just don't download anything) so you can accumulate download points. Romulation is slow as shit but they have literally every game I've looked for.
You have rxtools on autoboot? Try holding L anyway.
If it doesn't work, my help ends here. Good luck.
>having to claim he's being defensive because of how much of an insufferable fag you're being
>Maintaining extends one more hour
>It extends from 6-7 pm
Now I'm scared
no no, when I try to launch devmode (that's pastamode i'm assuming?) it reboots the system and menuhax comes up. wat do?
i appreciate and need the help anon please don't leave me
Menuhax comes up? So the Homebrew launcher? Is rxtools there down the bottom? Click it while holding L, rxtools should come up with a menu you've likely never seen before, scroll right or left until you get to "Advanced", then Pasta Mode.
Refresh my memory.
Did she die by the end of klk?
I remember she losing both her arms but I can't remember if she dies.
Don't play Umihara Kawase for the story... jesus christ
With that said, are you not aware that every 3DS game released comes with a digital manual? Old games used to have their backstories written there, give it a look-see
Okay so I'm trying to access the homebrew menu from the browser but it keeps freezing on yellow ,then random colors, then I see some code I think and then theres nothing and the bottom screen is red. Any ideas?
Ah I gotcha, So should I not even bother trying to copy the contents and just redownload stuff. I was curious if I had like homebrew and what not on my CFW if that might not go over too well on a New 3DS
I'm just curious to know if it's possible. Obviously there's no problem if you can just refill after expending 300 coins, but I'd just like to know if it's possible to remove that limit. Y'know?
ok, something happened with my menuhax...
i put an image display on the folder 3ds/ menuhaxmanager and it didnt display on my 3ds so, i went into the manager, and choose the option to set the image, but when i restarted my 3ds, it kicked me back to sysnand, i cant enter emunand.
does anyone know why?
So I updated my emunand to 10.5 (rxTools o3ds) and pokemon still says maintenance? Please tell me I don't need to launch eshop, I really don't feel like having to reinstall all of my dlc/themes.
Guys stop panicing.
10.6 is for bayonetta and corrin DLC for smash and some online fixes. it wont affect the hacking community.
yeah, it was a generated pc boot image...
but im kinda worried, the sysnand says it doesn't recognise my sd card (64gb) and it cant generate theme init data when i click change theme.
I tried deleting the cias I had installed in hopes it would make the transfer quicker, and then just reinstall the cias in the new system once transfer was complete.
If you plan to do the same just make sure to select the games(not open them), before deleting them, using the system menu, and backup the saves. and when you delete the games make sure to select the option that only deletes the games but keeps the saves(just in case). Then when you install the game cias back into the new system the save should automatically get installed with the game after you open the game giftbox.
For cia managers you can just do the h&s injection if after transfer it doesn't transferFBI or whatever cia manager you have.
If I get a 2ds with 6.x firmware, will there be a way to update to 9.2? Everyone talks about downgrading, but what about updating to a specific firmware. Is this even necessary or should i just keep the firmware I have and rxTools it.
Paid for Same-Day Delivery of an SD card.
According to Amazon it's been delivered. It isn't.
According to Amazon support,
I've checked the tracking of this order and it shows as delivered. Sometimes a carrier will accidentally scan a package as "Delivered" when it's actually still on its way. When this happens, we expect the carrier to deliver the package within one business day.
What I used to do to get it to work is I start rapidly tapping a milimeter or so to the right of the right edge of the slider and slowly move to the left continuing tapping until one of the taps activates the hax.
>actually expecting shit to arrive on-time
Like this poor sap >>130593830 who thinks his package is ACTUALLY on that fucking truck. I learned better Christmas Eve when my whole family was waiting at home for a package I ordered and it didn't arrive because "the driver tried to deliver it but the business was closed"
Lazy fucking bastards.
Who has the github link for the "newer" ntr build? Also, which files will need? just the NTRautoexit.cia and the .bin file?
ok, i was supposed to have autoboot to ctrbootmanager.
i didnt try to change my 3ds theme, when it resetted and sent me back to the Sys i tried to use the change theme option to initialize and try to reinstall menuhax, im still on 9.2sys so i can still use browserhax.
what i tried to do is to add a boot image for my menuhax, but even if i put the imagedisplay.png in the required dir it didnt showed up.
as i said on >>130603324
i have an old 16gb sd card with emunand, and still works fine, is it possible to use a file from there to fix my card?
delivery services are nearly as bad as the fucking telecoms
fedex and ups don't care unless you're a business, and even then they don't care unless you are a BIG business with a lot of shipping
usps is government, they don't give a shit about anyone
This is probably a really dumb question, but how do i update my CFW? I'm on 9.2 Cakes
Is there something i need to install or do i just update the emunand through system settings?
Quick question, a friend of mine has FF explorers legit and wants me to play with him however he's on the EU version and the only CIA's I can find are of the US version. Will I still be able to join his game or do different regions use different servers?
Anyone know if this works on the latest patch?
I don't want to go through the hassle of unlocking everyone all over again.
>just update the emunand through system settings
I mean, you did power down and try again before just messing with shit though, right? As long as you've set menuhax you ought not to need to touch theme settings at all. If it can't initialize you could just try it through browserhax and see if it works, or you may need to delete a file somewhere (don't know which one). As far as setting your boot image, I can't imagine what went wrong. With the image in the directory and menuhax_manager used to convert the image, it worked for me without issue. Did it give you any errors when converting/setting the image from SD?
You could also try using that menu to set the image back to default
So, what's going on?
My 3DS which is 126.96.36.199U refuses to boot Ironfall, Camera App, Eshop, etc... however somethings work, such as my Azure Striker Gunvolt. My Dual Destinies refuses to boot. When I say refuses to boot, I immediately get a black screen and it says:
>an error has occurred. hold down the power button to turn off the power, then turn it on and try again."
Can't hold L to go into HBL either. Any ideas /hbg/?
If colors start flashing everything is should be right.
It just sometimes doesn't want to cooperate so you have to try a few times.(not 100 times like anon said tho, I usually get it to work in 2 or 3.
It fixes arm9 and installs directly to sysnand.
well, when i put the set boot image option, it originally said that theres no image in the sd, then i pressed A, and selected load image from SD, the screen said it entered successfully, then i got out of the manager, it kicked me back to ctrboot, then i tried to go to cakes, and then reset...
im trying something of a experiment to fix my card, i hope this works, if not, then ill have to do a full sd reimport...
Actually if it freezes on red color I think it's a problem with the HBL. The colors of browserhax are yellow, gray, orange, white in that order and after that it should try to load boot.3dsx
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
Will I always have to unwrap my out of region games after a reboot with reinand+ntr?
Is it possible to remap the screenshot function to different buttons in case a game needs me to press x+y?
I've got an o3DS which has everything set up, but apparently menuhax is still installed on the emunand, so if I leave autoboot enabled it gets stuck in an infinite loop unless I hold L right as rxtools loads. I tried following the guide and changing the theme on the emunand, but it didn't fix it. anyone know what I need to do?
well, i tried, but it didnt work...
maybe it is because im using a 64gb card both the no boot image, and the emunand fail, the only thing left for me is to reformat and reinsert my old card data in the new one...
Not at all. Never attempted a downgrade. I have done nothing and I don't understand why certain games don't work but some do. I really need to boot into ironfall to load HBL so I've seen this error about 50 times now...
Don't use autoboot!
So many posts with problems wouldn't get made if you guys weren't so lazy as to spend 10-15 seconds in a menu choosing the cfw you're going to use. Which will probably be opened once every month unless you decide for some stupid reason shutdown your 3ds.
People are paranoid that Nintendo may have found a way to force you into sysnand before installing the update. Even if it's impossible it's best to wait and see what they've changed with the new update.
I have a weird error, sometimes when I open the 3ds the home screen will give me an error and put everything in presents, if I reboot it everything goes back to normal. I don't have to unwrap them.
Is there a reason for this, it only happens once in a while, it's happened on both rxtools and cakes.
what is the theme shuffle? I went in and changed it from no theme to blue theme, which always disables menuhax on the sysnand, but didn't work.
has nothing to do with autoboot, even with it disabled it doesn't work when I load emunand from rxtools (unless I hold L, and even then its hit or miss)
I'm trying to use the browserhax here http://yls8.mtheall.com/3dsbrowserhax_auto.php
But all I get is a yellow screen (it definitely does not go gray after) and then it returns to home with an error message.
I've done it about 30 times now. On firmware 8.1.0-14
Couple of irregular questions. inb4 >cakes
I have two homebrewed 3DS'. One is a 3DSXL on Rxtools, and the other is a n3dsxl on cakes. 3D on the 3dsxl works fine, but 3d on the new model is FUCKED and I have no idea why. Recalibrating the head tracking didn't really help.
I also had a digital copy of Animal Crossing, and a physical copy of Fantasy Life, before I homebrewed. If I install the AC .cia, do you think my data will still be there? I wonder if my FL data will be there but I can't check right now (both of those save the data on the SD). I did back up everything originally on the SD.
SWEET. 64GB SD card arrived one hour late - got my entire Shipping refunded and a free month of Amazon prime.
>Smash is the only game that needs 10.5 and up to work
>Menuhax can no longer be installed
God damn it.
Good thing I didn't do this on my CFW 2ds.
Nope, it's just the one unspoofed NA game I have (shovel knight) and it only appears after I start up NTR and has to be unwrapped afterwards
No, I haven't, but I'll try that when I get home. Thank you for the suggestion, the thought hadn't even occurred to me, hahah.
I'll give this a shot too. It looks like instead of overlaying the images to look 3Dish it's instead just having the images spread really far apart. It's painful as all hell to look at.
I'm 10.3 emunand, playing online earlier with a friend. But now both of us can't make a room. Did 10.6 arrived?
Menuhax manager was made for 10.3
Since I'm on 10.5, it can no longer install.
They pretty much disabled menuhax and ironhax for 10.5
If you don't care about smash, you have no reason to update.
Literally every other games work on anything below 10.5
I did this because I got a little angsty about the new smash update.
tl;dr don't update.
So it seems I'm on an obscure lower firmware, 8.1 I think. Honestly would my best option be to just update to the latest firmware and wait for support for that?
I can't find a fucking thing that works for my current setup.
I literally tried playing smash when I was on 10.3 and it before it would even load up it just said "This title needs a system update to function properly"
But it's only smash.
I should also say if you're trying to play smash on a CFW 3ds, make sure you update emuNAND and not sysNAND. Because now I have no way to easily access the homebrew channel via menuhax loader. I have to scan the QR code every time, and no custom themes.
It's not a huge deal, just a bit frustrating.
it should only do that if you're trying to boot an emunand inside an emunand
for example, if you load rxtools then launch the homebrew launcher cia which loads you into ctrbootmanager then try and go back to rxtools from ctrbootmanager instead or rebooting.
you may want to check your boot configuration
I already bought it on WiiU and Steam.
It's just that i get more motivated to actually finish games on portables, already at the last level now
I'm stuck trying to access browserhax.
Can't open the browser with DNS settings on because I get an error and then booted out.
Using a 10.3 n3ds any help would be appreciated. I just want to install menuhax
Generally speaking, you should probably buy games you really enjoy (provided you have the disposible income), if only to collect physical copies for future use. Voting with your wallet is the most effective way to have a "voice" in the US
With that in mind, the only game so far that 100% should be never bought is the upcoming Fire Emblem Fates. Half-assed VA, censorship, and highly elevated Jewtendium content should make that much obvious.
I have CFW on a 2ds. Had it for weeks now.
Safe and sound.
I only used my 3ds for menuhax and easy access to homebrew channel.
I meant to say Don't update sysNAND, which is what I did. (I stopped at homebrew channel for my 3ds and got a 2ds for downgrading / CFW)
Apparently updating emuNAND to 10.5 is just fine.
>not installing all possible entrypoints as a failsafe
>fucking up ironfall, the second most reliable entrypoint pre-10.4
Best get hunting for that OoT retail copy son.
no, the boot menu is set to boot rxtools and rxtools is set to boot emunand. emunand is acting like it has menuhax (which it probably does since it was on the sysnand when I made the emunand) but changing the theme isn't removing it. I'm at a complete loss
Open the browser , pick initalize save data, let the browser close. Turn off your n3ds and then either go back to the homebrew website or scan this qr code.
It's the thing where you hold a button to easily access the homebrew launcher, instead of having to scan the QR code repeatedly
Good luck m8.
Oh yeah that thing..
Wait. When I hold L to start now it takes me to that ctrbootmanager thing where I choose either rxtools or homebrew launcher. If I don't have menuhax would I not be able to access this I'm assuming?
If so I better not lose my menuhax if that's the case. Kinda worried now
I was on 10.3 when I tried loading up smash.
And since 10.5 came out today, it booted me to that instead of 10.4
God damn, what an inconvenience.
At least I have all my shit back and everything's working.
On the retard guide, it says
> Instead of the Homebrew Launcher, you will now see the CTRBootManager. From here you can boot rxTools or Homebrew Launcher.
>If you still get the Homebrew Launcher when you hold L you are using the wrong boot.3dsx filre. Use the one found in this zip file instead:
And the link is a dead link, does anybody know what the link was? Or if there's an alternative fix, like renaming the file the told you to rename to .brew back to .boot, and using the fresh .boot to rename into .brew?
Can anyone explain why it partitions your SD card when installing CFW? Is there any way to use that space or is it reserved for some system shit?
There are none that I know of in the US. That's only on the site I checked though, maybe it's wrong or left something out. All the 9.0 games are eShop games too, like Steamworld Dig.
I want to completely remove all traces of this shit on my 3ds and start again.
My SD card has a hidden partition on it now so I assume I made it as far as creating an emunand the last time I tried this shit.
My question is, my 3ds is a limited edition with a game preinstalled. Is it possible to lose this?
