Seriously, every time I get on top of the dragon's heart one of my rented pawns gets stomped and I have to go pick them up. I don't know if it's a good thing or a bad thing that they're not using the curatives I gave them to hold.

Vendors will sell their expanded inventory from the beginning, you get a stone at Cassardis that takes you straight to Ur Dragon (although you can't use it to access the rest of Everfall) and you can put down 5 more portcrystals in addition to the ones that remain there from your last game.

a few questions. I'm lvl37 warrior, was fighter for about 15-20 levels.I want to build an assassin, should I just switch right now or go for other augments that are worth it? I'd also love to see what skills and augments are best for assassin but can only find gamefaq forums.

I just did the quest where Mercedes gives you her rapier after losing a duel.

Also, is there any benefit to not hiring 2 pawns? Do you get more exp?

Am I doing something wrong or do sorc pawns just suck shit? Because everyone talks about how great and necessary they are but I just never seem to get one that actually pulls its weight, and I'm into BBI 2.0 by now

I search and search for good spell combos and the right inclinations, but it's just rare for them to ever actually get their spells off. Half the time they seem to run around aimlessly, I see spell casts interrupted to dodge attacks that clearly are nowhere near them, regularly not giving me holy vs mobs that are weak to it, etc etc. Hell I've had a number of sorc pawns with good inclinations that just randomly fucking climb shit for absolutely no reason.

They also seem to somehow not know their range. IE if I'm above a chained gorecyclops and using bow skills on it they routinely just stand right next to me doing nothing..even though its clearly in range if I'm hitting it.

When they DO get a full bolide off it's nice as hell, it just seems so fucking rare that its almost not worth it to me.

what is your vocation? It really helps sorc pawns if you have an ability that taunts, or if you hire a warrior / fighter that can war cry / shield drum respectively. Keeping the baddies off them long enough to get a cast off does great. Also, go for pawns that have quicker spells and only one or two long-cast spells if you can muster it.

Basically you'll be looking at these changes:

>Increased stamina use, varies by skill
>450% more damage taken by Arisen in main game
>225% more damage taken by Arisen in BBI
>Harder to knockdown or stagger enemies
>No changes for Pawns
>Double xp gain
>Increased gold drops in main game

You can gain some special gear if you clear to NG+ in Hard, and that's about it. It's not a particularly fun challenge, it only matters if you're melee for the most part and then in only the worst way. Only reasons I run Hard Mode is because I'm used to it by now, and the double xp translates to double RC for any pawns I rent.

its fun, the hardest part is the meme sword and shield bandits that probably killed me 30+ times

On the topic of hitting metal golem talismans that are stupid out of reach:
if you're playing MA or MK can high frigor from a staff hit them if they're up that high?

It is, and it is.

Incidentally, the double xp and gold drops are why Hard Mode is actually Easy Mode if you start at level 1. Once you get past the ridiculous one-shotting, you'll out-level everything in no time then march to the Greatwall to spend your dosh and smash the main game.

As for BBI, it's just tedious. I actually min/maxed my defense to be able to do Melee Hardmodo, which is another reason I stick with it. On Normal I'm not sure if anything could really scratch me.

Kinda want to do a Brutish Wall or Brilliance build with Fighter or MK respectively, but with the Wall it seems like best case scenario (with some elemental resist Master Rings) I'd still have one or two elements that insta-kill and with Brilliance I'm not sure the Striking/Piercing resist can get high enough to make it worthwhile.

All you need for Awakened Daimon is 4 Conqueror's Periapts and 20 Blast Arrows. Pop 4 perries when the battle starts, fight as normal. Equip the blast errors when he goes to use his vortex, give it a couple of seconds, then Tenfold him once or Fivefold him twice.
Do that again when he fully enters his recovery pose and you've practically won the fight. Minimal blast error usage, minimal cheese.

Oh yea, I used that extensively. The layout just made it a little difficult for me to figure out what to do and when, or if a quest had no real rewards to it or not.

For instance, my first playthrough, I did lost and found first, then escorted the Hydra head, but had no idea that Dying Curiosity should've been done at the same time, which only becomes available after escorting it, things like that

Unless those waifu mods involve editing stats or equipment to have impossible values, then this is not true.

Pawns don't get banned for retextures, they only get banned if their owner goes full retard with CE.

So all the pawns figured out pretty quickly to hit metal golem medallions though they ALL prioritized fighting the golem over hitting the medallions unless I ran the fuck away and started beating on one

The hanging medallion was a doozie, the ranger would only shoot it when the golem was on the other end of the zone.

We finally won when my pawn distracted the golem for around 10 seconds by crawling on it while I stood near the medallion and made sure it was the only thing in my field of vision and spammed 'Go!'
The ranger then focused it and took it out effortlessly

To be fair I don't think any of them had metal golem knowledge before the fight

I think there are 4 Madeleine quests; Guard Duty, Chasing Shadows, Supplier's Demand, and Bad Business.

Guard Duty isn't required as she will appear in Gran Soren regardless of completing the quest. Chasing Shadows is necessary for her to start her shop. Supplier's Demand only upgrades her stock. Bad Business increases affinity with her and changes her location in Post-game.

Out of all of those, I think Chasing Shadows is really the only required one to get her shop open, maybe Supplier's Demand as well, but I think that would best be done in NG+. Would you prefer that all 4 of the quests be highlighted green, though?
