/hbg/ Wiki: http://homebrew-general.wikia.com
3DS: 9.2 (10.3 downgrade, 10.5 userland only, eShop NVer 30 only)
Wii U: 5.4 Loadiine (5.5.1 IOSU exploit coming soon™)
Vita: 3.51 (Userland)
PS4: 1.76 (Webkit)
PS3: 3.55 (CFW)
EmuNAND 10.5 is supported by all CFW; Exception n3DS rxTools ≤ 9.5 only
3DS: http://pastebin.com/TQwDsWh9 (embed)
Vita: http://pastebin.com/zwBhCPtd (embed)
-10.4 fixed memchunkhax2, the ARM11 kernel exploit necessary to downgrade. Menuhax and Browserhax still work, but that's it.
-Browserhax will be useless from 9.9 to 10.4 if you A) never opened the browser or B) open it now without the Tubehax DNS.
-3DS users over 10.3 can downgrade with a hardmod http://gbatemp.net/threads/412836/
-TuxSH released homebrew allowing you to read, write, and erase save files from NDS cartridges https://github.com/TuxSH/TWLSaveTool
>Is downgrading safe?
Not really. If you try, you only have one shot. If it fails, you'll be forced to update to 10.5. You might want to wait on ≤ 10.3 without updating, even though at the moment it doesn't seem there is going to be a safer way.
-5.4 Loadiine out now http://05sonicblue.com/wiiuhax
-IOSU: 3.0.1 is 100% done, 5.3.2 is being worked on, 5.5 and 5.5.1 are almost done
-Yellows8's .mp4 exploit has not been patched in 5.5.1
Rebug CFW REX and D-REX for firmware 4.78 have been released http://rebug.me/official-rebug-4-78-1-cobra-7-2-toolbox-2-02-09-jan-26th-2016/
-Update 3.57, mandatory for online, fixes all eCFW and bubble exploits.
Reposting this here from the last thread since in addition to screwing up, I wasn't paying enough attention.
>Using this guide http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW
>Successfully downgraded to 9.2
>Up to step 18 of the Creating an EmuNAND and Installing Custom Firmware (CFW) section
>Now instead of Homebrew launcher a purple menu opens while holding L while booting the system (CTRBootManager I'd hope, but nothing indicates that it is)
>Now nothing I'm looking at corresponds with anything that follows in the guide
>Need to go into rxTools somehow which I can find by going into 3ds > rxTools but nothing happens while holding L and selecting it and there isn't any Advanced option inside of it
>Don't even know how to boot Homebrew Launcher from this like the guide says I should be able to and I don't know how to enter emuNAND so I can enter the eshop to do the preceding step either
Am I doing something wrong or am I just being an idiot?
Anyone got some 2hu themes? I need my 3DS to reflect how weeb I truly am.
Looks like /hbg/ has spoken.
Will post .cia files for Monster Hunter X.
This is only a test. If /hbg/ is too shitty or doesn't want to play Monster Hunter X, we will try out Kid Icarus.
Expect posts later on.
Cakes will be worked on again whenever mid-kid gets his 3DS hadmodded, which might take a while. At the moment the only thing it would get would be regionfree though, I guess. Just use whatever you want really. At the moment Cakes isn't outdated so if you want to use it and be lazy go ahead.
>which I can find by going into 3ds > rxTools
I'm not really sure what you mean with that, but you should have an rxTools entry to choose from in the purple menu (which is indeed CtrBootManager). If it's not there, you need to edit your boot.cfg. Pastebin it if you don't know what you're doing.
To enter the eshop, you should simply select rxTools from the purple menu without holding anything. After you've accessed it, you'll want to do the same thing, but hold L when you select rxTools. This should take you to the rxTools menu.
>which might take a while
Literally never. cakes is dead.
I like the part in the readme about being stuck on 9.5, and how they're planning to do a "quick and dirty" fix using 9.6 instead of 10.2 because he'll if they know how to code.
I actually dont have a link to a completely clean MHX .cia
Only the v9 from
Any one got a link to a clean version?
Does anyone have an eShop .cia or .3ds file for Super Mario Land 2? The only one I can find is a ROM injection. I'd rather have the official one.
Also, stupid question. I can't play online with my 5.5.0 Wii U, can I?
And while I'm thinking of it, what I meant was I open CtrBootManager and my choices are File Browser, Netload 3dsx, Settings, Reboot, Power Off.
I go into File Browser > 3ds and I see rxTools near the bottom. I select that and my options are data, lang, nand, sys, theme. Do I launch one of the bin files inside of data? Or is what I'm looking for elsewhere?
>playing Labyrinth no Kanata
>gets stuck in a floor with no upwards stair filled with strong enemies
>turns out it's a misleading floor with no exit. You gotta go back downstairs and look for the other upwards stair
>wasted my time fighting all those enemies
Not even Etrian Oddysey is this cruel.
if i were to obtain a n3ds devkit, how hard would it be to create and produce my very own port of ttyd to 3ds?
No, you shouldn't be using the file browser or netload or anything like that. The first thing that pops up when you boot it should be a list of the entries in your boot.cfg. I don't know about that guide, but if it provides its own files it should already have an entry for rxTools there, so all you should have to do is to use up and down on the D-pad to highlight it and A to launch it, nothing else.
Hey guys, I'm following this guide: http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW
And I can't download the the firmware.bin from the .bat file provided, I don't really wanna download phython, can anyone help me? Pls
Has anyone got the Mario Golf DLC for the EU version to share and would be so kind as to do so? It'd be very much appreciated.

Update 1.2 combined with English patch v10
Based fucking rxtools does it again.
Cakesfags on suicide watch.
Fuck yeah bro
post yfw cutting edge readmes
QUESTION: if i have a europe region free version of a game but an update cia that's not region free, the game won't update, correct? I also need a region free version of the update? all assuming im using a usa 3ds.
Thanks a ton anon.
Will download and shop this around for a while before we actually start the /hbg/ shitters club.
I'd give it a day for everyone to download and start to get a chance to try it out.
>go on /v/ trying to help people with homebrew
>bunch of buyfags come complaining how pirates are destroying nintendo
life is good /hbg/. life is good.
Also, now that I have ReiNand working, do I just have to remove rxTools from the Boot Manager and update to 10.5 while using ReiNand? Is it that easy?
Because I swear, 80% of the time there's a catch to this.
/hbg/ pastebin didn't put the retard supplement pastebin in it when it helps retards using the retard guide so retards get confused because the retard guide doesn't have some up to date stuff so they have to ask in this thread which is pretty much filled with retards.
Wut, that's indeed completely messed up. Here's the latest CtrBootManager that comes with a default boot.cfg: https://gbatemp.net/attachments/ctrbootmanager-1-7-zip.37035/
ReiNand is the first entry, so you might want to remove that so that rxTools becomes the first one. Just remove the lines I marked in the screenshot.
Is there any hope for someone with an old 3DS who just updated to the latest software to homebrew?
You don't need to tell me how, I'll figure it out if it doesn't involve brain surgery in the circuits of my 3DS but please let me know if it's feasible or not.
im trying to install cakesfw on my n3ds using this guide (http://pastebin.com/n1Vd8vmW (embed)) and i cant seem to get the the last steps working, do i NEED menuhax for it to work? whenever i try booting cakes sfw and it will just send me back to the home menu.

>*we install and play shit together)
Man I'm fucking retarded and it's late.
So I forgot to backup my SD card properly (I just copy-pasted the contents to my PC, didn't do anything external) before I formatted it apparently and it seems I have lost all of my old games in it. Is there any way to reclaim them through the eshop or something similar? It hurts because I had a 100 hour file in FE:A and a 130 hour file in RF4.
Yup, but it also has some new stuff in the config that might trip up an older version of CtrBootManager, so you'll want to also replace your SD's boot.3dsx with the one in the archive I linked.
For someone who played both the beginning of 4U and the demo and didn't like either because of the clunky controls and animations, is it possible I might like X or is the series just not for me?
custom firmware. basically lets you install any game for free. but, what you have and can do is install a select few. downgrading at this point in time is a one-shot gamble anyway so you basically missed the deadline.
>I just want games for free
Unless your hardmod it, you're out of luck. The closest you can get is Sky3DS, but it's shit.
>Read for hours
>Find out I can't do it
>Ask if it's possible
>Find out it is
>Motivated to read.
Why can't you just tell me if it's possible? If I know it is, I'll get to work. I have an old 3ds, no c stick or anything, updated to latest version. Can I get games for free?
Should I just sell this 3DS then? It only has a 4GB SD card, and one game. And I don't even know what games I can't play on it even if I do buy it because the new one has more ram.
Fuck me, shitty birthday.
but you would fuck that up
>sell you 3ds and buy a n3ds to downgrade
but you will most likely softbrick
>pay some one to do it or buy one pre hacked
thats your only option cos youre retarded
Okay now it keeps giving me a message "Err: Couldn't load arm9 payload... Press any key to continue." on launch and every time I select rxTools. I tried to go into HomeBrewMenu once and all I got was a red screen
H E L P
When I try to go online on games, it tells me to accept the Nintendo Network terms. When I hit accept, it just loops back into the Accept window and tells me to accept again. Does anybody know what's causing this?
X includes a lot more variety of playstyles but it's still monster hunter. The movement is more or less the same but now you have various super moves and styles to change how you play a bit.
I suggest giving it another shot. Especially since these games are more fun in multiplayer anyway.
The first issue is the error you get when you have the wrong firmware.bin, I believe.
The second one might be due to different naming of your Homebrew Launcher 3dsx. The marked part in the attached picture should match whatever the guide told you to rename it to, so edit that if it doesn't.
download config, go to eula setting and set it to ff.ff
now your system thinks it has accepted all the agreements for every game possibule, you will never have that screen again
Dude every game on this thing is 40 fucking dollars.
I already paid out the ass for Wii U and games on that.
My older brother got this a long time ago, and hasn't played it for months so he just gave it to me.
I'm in college, you'd think a fucking homebrew thread would understand this shit. Why else would you homebrew a 3ds?
Anyone has that legend of legacy theme?
Can't find anywhere
So I have Reinand and I'm trying to install FE:IF, but when the icon appears on the menu it instantly disappears.
I deleted a demo in the sysnand settings, so I'm supposing this may be the issue for why it's not appearing. How do I fix this issue? I'm using BigBlueMenu to install.
Is there anything special I need to do to get cakes emunand from 9.2 to 10.5? I've updated cakes from whatever version was stable when downgrading started to the most recent stable build.
I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.
The guide says the following:
>15) Switch the console off
Copy/Paste your SD card backup from your PC to the SD card (select replace all if there are any matches)
16) Rename the "boot.3dsx" on the SD card to "brew.3dsx"
Now place the "boot.3dsx" (from the zip you downloaded in step 1 of this section) into the root of your SD card.
17) Put the SD card back into the 3DS and hold L while you turn it on
18) Instead of the Homebrew Launcher you will now see the CTRBootManager. From here you can boot rxTools or Homebrew Launcher.
So I'd want to rename what you gave me brew.3dsx and then drag back in the boot.3dsx I downloaded previously into the root of my SD? Or do I simply need to change "/boot_hb.3dsx" to "/boot.3dsx"?
I was supposing maybe the emunand used an image or something to create its home menu and maybe due to how I was installing it it wouldn't appear.
I've been installing other games just fine until now, so I thought maybe deleting stuff with system setting caused it to happen...
>Or do I simply need to change "/boot_hb.3dsx" to "/boot.3dsx"?
Almost. You should change it to: "/brew.3dsx"
As for the firmware.bin stuff, I had a quick look at the guide and you should try to repeat step 2 and then put the resulting firmware.bin in /rxTools/sys
I don't know, but if the files you downloaded from the guide already had that messed up boot.cfg, that won't work.
>Why else would you homebrew a 3ds?
I care more about messing around with it and the games than pirating actually, but I get your point. The thing is, we don't know your situation. We didn't know about your brother and everything.
Yeah, you didn't. So why did you assume I'm just a careless fuck?
But it's not the point. I'm just trying to play some games.
Regardless of homebrewing, how does the original 3ds hold up compared to the new one gaming wise? Will a lot of games not work as intended?
I followed this guide "http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW" to get to where I'm at. I've got my 3ds downgraded to 9.2 and my sysnand/emunand unlinked. Should I be using BigBlueMenu if my min goal is to pirate games? Also is there a need for me to update my emunand past 9.2? I'm fairly clueless at this point, I appreciate any help.
Yes, use big blue menu to install .cia files as it's much better than FBI
Updating to 10.5 is harmless, just make sure your doing it on emuNAND. It doesn't really have a purpose besides badges and access to eshop.
>So why did you assume I'm just a careless fuck?
That wasn't me, but I can see why he did, that's the generic situation.
The New 3DS underlocks itself when trying to play games meant for the original 3DS. Some of the newer games get enhancements specifically for the New 3DS. Homebrew gives you a way to prevent the underlocking, which mens some games run better.
Homebrew emulators run a lot better on the New 3DS.
>So if I leave my 3DS on sleep mode in emuNAND only it will get it?
>I just don't want sysnand to connect to fucking anything.
Hard. Particularly if you don't have this kind of knowledge.
So if I can afford the price difference, is selling my O3ds to buy a new3ds (hopefully one not yet updated so I could homebrew it too) worth it?
I just bought two 32GB SD cards also
And I'm back. Still getting the Err: Couldn't load arm9 payload... message whenever I attempt to use rxTools.
I can now open Homebrew Launcher at least. Is the link in the guide I'm using just out of date or something? Is there something I should be downloading instead?
>is there a noticeable difference while playing games
Only some. Hyrule Warriors might be the one that benefits the most out of it.
>can I easily homebrew without having to crack open my n3ds?
Running userland homebrew is usually easy, kernel exploits can be a little harder, but not much. This is true for both.
Mind telling me what you meant by messing around with games in homebrew?
If I have a PC that's fine to emulate anything I need to on, and I only want to play 3DS games, which is the easiest to homebrew?
PIC IS VERY RELATED
Trying to follow this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-installing-rxtools-custom-firmware-3ds-and-2ds.390867/) to get RXtools to boot without me having to use the browser.
However, I discovered that I have more than one ropbin file, and that trying that changing boot.3dsx to auto.3dsx on the most recently modified ropbin doesn't seem to work.
No idea, to be honest.
You could try downloading the latest nightly instead of the version from the guide: https://rxtools.ga/3DS/rxTools/Nightlies/rxTools_2016-01-28_15.54-4876174.zip
Just drag and drop the "rxTools" folder inside the "releases" folder into your SD card and replace everything.
Oh, and I gotta ask just in case. You're on an O3DS, right?
>Mind telling me what you meant by messing around with games in homebrew?
Like editing the romfs, the code of the games, the RAM and the saves, or trying out new homebrew software. Or doing things for no reason at all. Like pointlessly bricking my DS mode.
>which is the easiest to homebrew?
Downgrade if needed (hope you don't), then get to the HBL using the browser, use one of the exploits, install a CFW and FBI, set up some additional stuff and you're done.
all I've been doing is playing Smash with DLC, petting bestwitch waifu in FEIf before critting the invisible dragon with Mjölnir tome, and smacking around moblins with Twili waifu and pirate lass in HWLJP. any games that arent restricted mode jrpgs recommended?
Am I a retard for thinking I could install cia files without a gateway? I have rxtools and my nands are unlinked but I feel like I missed something down the line. I was hoping I could install/manage cia files without any external hardware.
Where you guys getting your WiiU keys for games to try and emulate on CEMU?
all i got is this
The homebrew channel launcher app refuses to work, any kind soul got the brew.3dsx I'm supposed to use for it? It crashes everytime I try to launch it. The CIA was installed without a hitch, but when I tried to mod the .bin file it just gives me a lot of errors.
Yes, I'm on an old one. I ended up just going back to the FOR SD CARD ROOT folder I downloaded, copying the rxTools from there onto the root of my SD, and then putting the firmware.bin into the rxTools > sys folder. Just ran rxTools, it said it installed successfully, and it put me back on my home screen.
Durdly fucking durdly durr hurrr.
Does any of you have any of these updates? I know some of them are very sought after, but I'm jsut checking if I didn't miss any one of these on the usual sites:
Puyo puyo Tetris
Retro City Rampage
Kunio Kun Special
>put me back on my home screen
That's EmuNAND most likely, meaning everything worked. You can confirm that by checking the version string in system settings. Just keep in mind that when you exit system settings the console reboots, so if you don't have menuhax setup to boot with no buttons pressed, it'll throw you to SysNAND.
So what you're supposed to do is to launch rxTools, go to eshop once you get the regular home screen, exit, reboot, launch rxTools again but this time holding L. Then just follow the rest of the guide.
you waited too long to downgrade anon. you could have been pirating games weeks ago. everyone is already figuring this out and playing Hyrule Warriors Legends before the NA release. hell i beat Legend Mode already. you're just behind.
Does an English translation exist for the 3DS release of Puyo Puyo 20th Anniversary?
I installed the cia for the novelty and cause that 3DS recommendation chart said it was import friendly, but I can't understand any of this shit
Why the fuck would you need gateway to install cia? Just install through fbi/bbm.
Probably sd card filled up? check it.
Make sure you're updating/editing the right one. You gotta edit the one that says 10.5 at the end (or whatever version you're on).
You're welcome. I'm out for the night, so I wish you the best of luck with the rest of the guide. You're almost there.
Yup. Now all I need to do is unlink my NANDs and get my hands on some of that uncensored Fire Emblem.
If you're 10.3 or below you're good to go on downgrading to 9.2. Read the pastebin and follow the guide. People are helpful here but don't ask questions that have been answered a million times before and in the OP
As long as you draw something lewd with it you won't get banned.
>TFW Im still hanging onto useless hope that Medabots 9 comes over here
What happens if you inject a save that uses friend codes (i.e Animal Crossing New Leaf) in to another system and then attempt to play online? Your friends are listed still as they should be, but obviously your FC is different since it's a different system. I haven't tried to actually go online for this reason but I'm curious if it's documented any
>he's had a CFW 3ds for three weeks and still hasn't played [game name] yet, what a faggot
Post them, /hbg/
The first game's demo was a unique chapter that gave you bonus shit for the main game, I guess this one is similar
>Wow, do this shit and you can unlock some stills of half-dressed anime girls!
Don't get me wrong, I love me some anime titties but fucking christ not every game needs this shit. What happened to a game's selling point being its gameplay, not the ability to see some half-lewd pictures.
Kek, they're probably encrypted and NAND-specific like everything else in the Nintendo 3DS folder, you're not gonna be able to just find them there and save managers only access currently present saves. You should have backed them up properly instead of just backing up your SD.
Those games still exist, it's just that now fan-service games are broadening as a niche.
I don't mind it really, it's just unfortunate when companies try to localize fanservice centric games and then censor it out leaving a mediocre product
So I am on ver 9.9.0-26u
Can I get cfw working on my version or should I update to latest then downgrade from there?
>just saw this thread
>remember updating last week to buy Final Fantasy Explorers on eShop
so i haven't set up cfw yet. i have the eshop version of oot3d on my 9.2 system right now. is there some way (xorpads or something) to create a legitimate version that i can install or copy back to sysnand after i've tinyformatted it?
It's not as bad as having updated past 9.2, Anon. It is right now, but as you can see from the OP if you stop updating you will have ARM9 kernel exploit soon (meaning CFW on 10.5) and there's already a way to downgrade (which requires an hardmod, though).
So don't worry too much and play your Final Fantasy Explorers while you wait.
Visited eShop once, crashes when I get denied (unless you mean eShop from the home menu rather than HBC, which I have not tried)
Booted up mGBA and exited then with to SysUpdater, nothing
No matter what I do, no luck
>smea finally got the hardmod to go through
>his wii u is so fucked up it STILL didn't fix it
you probably replaced boot.3dsx in the process, put the hbl one back in and it should work
I figured I wouldn't need it anymore but I wanted to see if that was an option for a backup entry point. Right now my only other entry point is menuhax because browserhax doesn't work for shit.
>I figured I wouldn't need it anymore but I wanted to see if that was an option for a backup entry point.
Yeah, that's fine.
>browserhax doesn't work for shit.
What's the issue? It's supposed to work properly.
It would still be an unsigned game, so there's no way to run it without running Pasta/CFW mode which requires an entry point to begin with. If you have Menuhax and don't break it then it'll never go away. If you want an alternative entry point then just MSET.
Whenever I tried to use it it would just boot me out of the browser with a generic error has occurred message. I tried clearing the savedata, I'm on o3ds xl 9.2.0 u20 if any of that will help. Is it an option to backup oot3d worst case scenario?
menuhax can boot into sysnand hbl after setting up ctrbootmanager? i thought you could only boot into emunand hbl or something that way.
i admit i don't really know that much about menuhax, just whatever i've picked up from here from lurking since november.
Yeah, that's actually a good reason.
Well, that's not supposed to happen at all. Did it work before? Did you have to downgrade? Did you mess around with "Destination: NAND" while using FBI in sysnand?
My guess would be that reinstalling the proper version of the spider browser in sysnand to the NAND destination would fix it, but this might be risky as if you get a brick you'd need an hardmod to fix it. I guess you could try it in emuNAND first (the browser doesn't work there either before updating, does it?) but still.
If you have Menuhax set to autoboot Ctr then no, but all it takes is renaming the files back and you can launch HBL normally or just use Browserhax, which is unpatchable on 9.2
>If you have Menuhax set to autoboot Ctr then no, but all it takes is renaming the files back and you can launch HBL normally
>or just use Browserhax, which is unpatchable on 9.2
that's mainly what i'm trying to get around
Well, if you are, I'm requesting one of Anna from Fire Emblem Awakening using Conquest from FE:A as the BGM. I have some pics I can supply.
>Install a bunch of games I've always wanted to play but didn't seem worth it. (mostly eShop games)
>Install a bunch of great retail games
>Play nothing but rhythm games and GBA games I've injected I could be playing on literally anything else
>I downgraded from 9.9.0 u26.
Well, I guess that might be the reason the browser doesn't work then. I think I saw a tool to check if everything was downgraded properly and a way to fix what wasn't in case it exists, but I haven't looked much into it, so you can hope someone else here tells you about it.
Aside from the tool I mentioned, I think you could easily do the same by simply using FBI in sysnand with the NAND destination, but that might be risky.
Some is official art, some is just stuff I found on /feg/
>I think it might be all of the failed .cia installations
Nah, that's not how it goes. A failed .cia installation doesn't leave anything there.
Are you sure those aren't just 7 GB of games you installed or .cia files you forgot to delete after installation?
no anon, you're a shit
using this guide http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji i got to the point were i have to launch cakefw but using the n3ds firmware it gives you makes it so it doesnt work, did i fuck something up or is there a confirmed firmware working.
the error says to double check the firmware, it says it loaded firm, loaded firm key, decreptying firm, decrypting the ncch and then fails when it attempts to decrypt the firmware.bin.
When the thing that replaces the 3DS drops, should I buy like four of them and keep them until a kernel exploit is found? Or do you think Nintendo is going to move heaven and earth to prevent that from happening again?
I'd like to think so too. But considering that the card only had 1.5 gb of junk in it before I started shoving games into it, can't help but see connections.
For what it's worth, extracting the entire contents from the card gives me about 3.6 gb worth of files, so that seems somewhat on par. Guess I'll try to trace back my retardation.
You don't need to buy anything. All you have to do is to follow the scene and THEN make decisions according to that.
In case you don't know, emuNAND takes 1 GB on the original 3DS and 2 GB on the New 3DS. The second case would bring you up to 4 used GB.
Are there any decent ports of Rayman available via any means on 3DS? It's one of if not my favorite games.
Can't find an EU cia for the DSiWare version and the GBA version was really shit.
So what's the use in allowing me to read, write, and erase save files from NDS cartridges on my 3DS?
Why would I want to do this?
Rayman is one of the most playable games on the PSX emulator. But the music doesn't work.
If you have a n3DS, you should give it a try.
Answering to your question... no, the DSiWare one is the most decent port (and it's just a port of the GBA version).
Yeah, I had the PSX version running but no music was a real killer. It's a shame because it runs fucking beautifully.
Yeah, I used to have it. I found it by surprise myself one day.
How much did it cost? 12?
I'm kind of disappointed they never released the DSiWare version of Cave Story in Europe, I think I would have actually bought it since I would have enjoyed playing it on my DSi and
I didn't know about the original free version
Sure, I'm uploading it.
Give me a few minutes as my internet it's slow as hell.
>I'm kind of disappointed they never released the DSiWare version of Cave Story in Europe
But now we have the eShop one, which looks better and it has the 3D effect.
And we also have the NXengine emulator to play it for free.
Since Mario & Luigi: Paper Jam came out, I decided to open up the 3 year old Mario & Luigi Special Edition o3DS that was still in its box untouched in my shelf.
Threw RxTools on it, pushed SysNAND to 9.2 and EmuNAND to 10.5, and now pirating some good shit. Pic related.
Any 3DS game suggestions other than ORAS?
Trying to get GBA/3DS titles on here, any tips? (and need to reinstall Dream Team that was wiped out when I formatted lel).
Sorry, meant GBA/DS titles*. Trying to assemble the entire Mario & Luigi collection on this console.
I believe Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time and Bowser's Inside Story were also DSiWare titles, so those can be pirated, yeah?
I've just received the 32GB SD that I ordered a week ago. I'm going to do the "transfer emuNAND to another card" tutorial and I'm afraid to screw it up.
>mfw I'll run out of free space really quickly
well, i played the original and it was a fun game, so im getting back into the series.
you usually play them on the touch screen, then the special moves show up on the top screen when you use them, and they usually follow the story the anime tells.
I've almost run out of space on my 64GB card, and my NANDs are already filed to the brim with GBA and DSi titles.
To think I only got my emuNAND set up yesterday.
I can use out-of-region games and DLC with NTR, right?
I've been suffering trying to find EU versions of certain titles, but it won't make a difference either way if I'm using NTR, correct?
That's a custom boot image. What you do is install a boot manager, have L go to the boot menu, and then have R boot MiniPasta into SysNAND (or just regular SysNAND). Works when you see the image.
Only sysNAND wouldn't work. Anything else takes place after the flashing colors. Here's a proper way to word it.
I've only/already 100% Majoras Mask 3D. Honestly, I'm surprised at how well I remembered the original since it made completing the remake a breeze.
On that note, I'm thinking of starting SMTIV next.
Would anyone say thats a good game to introduce myself to the franchise, or should I start with something else?
Yeah, that's what I do if I need to install DSiWare or some shit that requires any weird SysNAND interactions. WAY faster than booting BrowserHax in SysNAND and needing to enable Internet Connection.
Nobody bothered because a West release was imminent, and the fanbase isn't as autistic as FE or MH.
Not any "better", it's just easier to download the pre-updated one.
Oh, just realized you ALSO need to have MenuHax set to the R button, because MiniPasta WILL restart the console. So holding R on coldboot will give you a clean SysNAND, and holding R on the splash gives you sigpatched SysNAND (since it will reboot patched, then load normal).
If you hold R on Coldboot, MenuHax will skip sigpatching and boot SysNAND clean.
If you hold R on splash, Boot Manager will load MiniPasta, then reboot with sigpatch, and THEN boot into SysNAND patched.
I have two questions and I'm either too stupid or too blind to see them in the pastebin.
I am running rxtools on an o3ds.
1. Can I move saved from a cart I own to an installed cia game?
2. What is the best way to backup everything I would need if something went wrong?
You can't :^)
Download the pic of that anon and rename it to "imagedisplay", put the pic in the menuhax installer folder, open menuhax installer throught the homebrew launcher and select the option that says something about set a boot image.
Ok so I'm trying this shit and put the starter pack on my N3DS card, added the DNS thing and when I launch the web browser it just freezes and give me 'An error has occurred. Please save your data in any software currently in use, then restart the system'.
I haven't opened shit and tried restarting but it still happens.
To update to 10.5 from 10.3 on cakes emunand can I just download via the prompt I am given when I boot into emunand or will that update sysnand as well? My nands are unlinked so it should be fine right?
Thanks! I just wanted to make sure because updating from 9.5 to 10.3 on cakes required me to change some files/download some stuff onto the SD but I wanted to make sure I won't fuck myself if I update via settings.
Okay, I'm using SaveDataFiler to export my saves from my retail cards.
He manages to export the save files beautifully, but when it comes to the Secure Data it's displaying only zeros instead of the ending of a title id. How come?
Alright I'm a retard and fucked up the browserhax thing, I scanned the fucking QR code before putting the files on my SD, now the browser just crashes when I attempt to do it properly which I'm assuming is some countermeasure.
Is that it, am I fucked for installing CFW or is there another way round?
I downgraded my O3DS to 9.2 a while ago and have rxtools/browserhax with emunand on 10.3. Just to confirm, am I safe to go into system settings on emunand and update to 10.5? Is there anything else you need to do?
Reached a stopping point, need advice.
On rxtools+pasta 9.2 o3dsxl. Tried unlinking my nands with Tiny-Format(from "literally retard" pastebin). Everything seems to work since had to make a new profile when the reboot happened. now it wont boot up to rx-tools+pasta, just freezing up on red screen.
Does this imply menuhax is not working? The boot.3dsx file the pastebin provided if menuhax isnt working is bigger than the one currently in my SD card.
Try booting RxTools via the website to troubleshoot which end it's on. https://dukesrg.github.io/?rxTools/sys/code.bin
If that loads it, then yes, it's menuhax (Which in all likelihood it is)
Alright fuckers. Just ordered a 64GB SDXC card for $30 Same-Day arrival.
I need around 64GB of games in the next 12 hours. What do I download? Already have OR/AS. Monster Hunter?
I did my N3DS when 10.3 was the latest so I never had that scare.
Also, I used browserhax to install menuhax before this downgrade, now that I'm on 9.2 browserhax doesn't load and I just get a white screen, what's up with that?
>the new SD card finally arrived
Fuck yeah, Seaking, now I need to transfer the emunand and all the stuff. Does it take a lot of time? Should I uninstall some games to make that shit a little faster to transfer?
You're using Sliderhax for 9.2, you need to zoom in on the bottom screen and touch the right side of the little "slider" that you see. It's kinda luck if you get it, but just keep trying to hit the right spot.
Kek, I'm transfering all my shit to another card right now.
Yes, I recommend to delete some games after make a backup of the saves.
About the speed, it depends of the size of your files: the emuNAND backup and shit doesn't take much time.
Is there any way to launch RxTools without BrowserHax?
No, NOT RxMode/DevMode. RxTOOLS itself, with all the fancy features. MenuHax seems to autoboot straight into the patched firmware without a chance to see the menu.
Using any other exploit?
>MenuHax seems to autoboot straight into the patched firmware
You're probably doing something wrong then.
>all the fancy features
Why would you use rxTools when you could use decrypt9 and emunand9tool? It makes no sense.
* o3DS Master Race
* SysNAND 9.2
* EmuNAND 10.5 (Latest)
* rxTools 3.0 Nightlies
* MenuHax Autoboot (R for MiniPasta/SysNAND).
You don't want to use rxTools for that, as they have a lot of problems.
Use emunand9tool and decrypt9, as they work better and have more options.
You know rxTools is only useful for rxMode, everything else isn't as it should: it doesn't work.
yes and for 4 more dollars you could have had one that lasts for years instead of one that lasts for months
