I'm not really sure what you mean with that, but you should have an rxTools entry to choose from in the purple menu (which is indeed CtrBootManager). If it's not there, you need to edit your boot.cfg. Pastebin it if you don't know what you're doing.

To enter the eshop, you should simply select rxTools from the purple menu without holding anything. After you've accessed it, you'll want to do the same thing, but hold L when you select rxTools. This should take you to the rxTools menu.

No, you shouldn't be using the file browser or netload or anything like that. The first thing that pops up when you boot it should be a list of the entries in your boot.cfg. I don't know about that guide, but if it provides its own files it should already have an entry for rxTools there, so all you should have to do is to use up and down on the D-pad to highlight it and A to launch it, nothing else.

So I have Reinand and I'm trying to install FE:IF, but when the icon appears on the menu it instantly disappears.

I deleted a demo in the sysnand settings, so I'm supposing this may be the issue for why it's not appearing. How do I fix this issue? I'm using BigBlueMenu to install.

As for the firmware.bin stuff, I had a quick look at the guide and you should try to repeat step 2 and then put the resulting firmware.bin in /rxTools/sys

Regardless of homebrewing, how does the original 3ds hold up compared to the new one gaming wise? Will a lot of games not work as intended?

The New 3DS underlocks itself when trying to play games meant for the original 3DS. Some of the newer games get enhancements specifically for the New 3DS. Homebrew gives you a way to prevent the underlocking, which mens some games run better.

The homebrew channel launcher app refuses to work, any kind soul got the brew.3dsx I'm supposed to use for it? It crashes everytime I try to launch it. The CIA was installed without a hitch, but when I tried to mod the .bin file it just gives me a lot of errors.

I ended up just going back to the FOR SD CARD ROOT folder I downloaded, copying the rxTools from there onto the root of my SD, and then putting the firmware.bin into the rxTools > sys folder. Just ran rxTools, it said it installed successfully, and it put me back on my home screen.

That's EmuNAND most likely, meaning everything worked. You can confirm that by checking the version string in system settings. Just keep in mind that when you exit system settings the console reboots, so if you don't have menuhax setup to boot with no buttons pressed, it'll throw you to SysNAND.

So what you're supposed to do is to launch rxTools, go to eshop once you get the regular home screen, exit, reboot, launch rxTools again but this time holding L. Then just follow the rest of the guide.

Well, I guess that might be the reason the browser doesn't work then. I think I saw a tool to check if everything was downgraded properly and a way to fix what wasn't in case it exists, but I haven't looked much into it, so you can hope someone else here tells you about it.

Aside from the tool I mentioned, I think you could easily do the same by simply using FBI in sysnand with the NAND destination, but that might be risky.
