This game has three rules, the rule of cool, the rule of cute and the rule of sex sells. No other logic applies.

It's fun for the first 15~ levels or so (or at least I had fun) because you have to block shit and then you do the animation cancelling thing and it feels pretty good. It was particularly difficult for me because of my shit ping so there was an element of challenge to timing the blocks, which made it even more fun.

Then you get the draw stance right click, and literally nothing matters anymore. You just press Q and spam right click until everything's dead. I only ever block anymore when I need to use the cyclone thingy to instantly get all of my focus back so I can spam some more right clicks. Every now and then you can use that unlimited blade works bullshit to fucking murder particularly persistent mobs, but those are pretty rare unless you're trying to solo a dungeon.

Maybe this is all wrong after level 30+, but so far this has been my experience with the class.

That's been my issue with most character creators. For all the options it has, it lacks others. Trying to deal with the forehead here, for example, or the issue with the palest/darkest skin settings being darker and paler than the lowest and highest pale/dark settings on the body. The hair molding is also weird as hell, and I'm still not convinced it makes up for lack of hair styles. The settings on the body of similar issues, the breasts can be modified, but strangely stop at places that aren't even all that extreme, lots of body options, but they're all very moderate in terms of how extreme you can set them.

Every CC I've ever used has bits and pieces of greatness, that just need extra settings, more settings along some of the sliders, or other simple niceties. BnS is no exception, but I do find I like its CC more than BDO simply because it has a few more of those niceties as was as more base presets/hairs/etc etc etc.

Lots of complex options still need to be user friendly as well, and I feel like BnS CC is more user friendly than BDO. Probably my favorite CC since Aion.

Anyway, I'm thinking about upgrading my Soul Shield since I've used the same one since I got a Stalker Jiangshi 8-pack in Foshi Pyres.

But none of the ones I've seen look like they're worth the upgrade. Is it like other equipment, where only 1 or 2 of them are actually viable and most of the rest of what you find is just dross? 20 HP and 8 crit doesn't seem like much of an upgrade, let alone all the dungeon runs I'd have to do to get all 8 pieces.

Eh? FM kills pretty quickly in my experience, faster than my LBM by far and with much greater risk of being hit.

Really all I've had to do from 1-25 is alternate LMB and RMB until the enemy has 4 stacks of of Ember and 3 stacks of Chilled (which freezes them), then hit Impact for a bunch of damage + stun + knockback. LMB a few more times if necessary to finish them off, though it's usually not.
