Grave Robber a Cute! Edition
Game is officially released. Town events and the Merchant class will come in a free patch.
Darkest Dungeon Soundtrack
Beware of spoilers.
I notice a new quote today while in town but I'm not sure what triggered it. Do heros say different things based on stress level? I know there's the excited quotes, and the freaked out quotes, but is there anything in between?
From the heroes? They have medium stress quotes as well. They were in at the very beginning, but they were bugged at the time leading to goofy things like heroes acting all traumatized dispute only having 3-5 stress.
hey guys you should kill the little pig behind the swine price first for mad loot
Basically by using stuns and push/pulls you essentially insure that stress units will croak before they have a chance to do harm, and with bigger guys you can stack the dot to do ludricrous amounts of damage per turn.
The advantage over pure damage is that it helps to work around high dodge/prot units, so you aren't forced to use the Houndmaster all the time.
...the houndmaster always seemed really shit at damage. What role does he fill?
So you pull stressor enemies into the front lines and then beat them down?
I can definitely see the point in DoT on later game enemies and bosses with high prot.
It's very simple: If the target has high PROT, DoT will do more DPS. If the target is a skirtty Mofo with barely any health, DoT are usually more accurate and will gib it in 2 turns
Stack Stun so that you can stun Size 2 Monsters and Bosses with only 1 move, like Shambler, Swine King and Collector. You can even stack stun on weak enemies twice if you want to heal up. Stunning a DoTed enemy basically means it has to eat the damage twice which is usually enough to kill it.
For Houndmaster, his strength is that his Stun is godlike, he hits anywhere from Rank 2-4 so if you absolutely positively need to nuke someone, you can eat a scoobie snack and do it. Use his dodge guard to protect someone on death's door and his party stress heal if you are in trouble. Finally, just mark shit if you want to deal damage, the damage is usually more than x2 due to the -Prot.
So I remember watching the dev's do art for the game and talking about mechanics a long time ago on a twitch stream, like before the earliest beta.
I remember the guy talking about the stress symbol, and what it was supposed to represent, and how it would show up in enemies designs.
They also said it had something to do with the final boss.
Now that its actually out you can tell
it's actual represents the flesh beast bursting out of the earth/hatching
I think it's cool how that works, and that the devs knew how they wanted to end the game from the start.
Call me a noob here because I haven't beaten the game yet (restarted my save since the game came out), but how do you stack DoT so high that a boss could die from it in 2 ticks?!
Ah, I see. Perhaps I should retry the HM.
"Begin with the end in mind." Good advice for a writer or game designer.
Yes. That symbol shows up all over the place. The lot of monsters carry the symbol, like the necromancer.
You won't be able to kill a boss in 2 ticks, I'm talking about spiders and dogs who will gib you very quickly in Champion runs. But some bosses are either in position 4 permanently which makes it hard to hit except by snipers or have 2 turns which makes DoT really damn powerful or is the Flesh boss.
Meanwhile, some heroes use the destress (golden arc, with no spikes in it) symbol for their abilities, like the Leper and Crusader. Even the Occultist, who uses the exact same freaky magic the monsters use against you, uses a variation of the destress symbol in one of his attacks instead of a stress symbol.
Here is the destress symbol for Crusader's Zealous accusation for comparison.
all in all I still think the coolest thing about all this is that this rabble of thieves and murderers drag themselves into this only to be the heroic safeguard against the world's demise
>try first champion level quest
>get shit pushed in
>He renamed all of his units to name, rank, serial number to dehumanize them
Does Quarrel have a higher crit chance than usual? Fucking skeletons keep critting with it.
>try first veteran level quest
>my bleed party that's trounced the Warrens and Weald over and over get completely fucked by stress and end up with 8 billion diseases from vomiting pigs
TRIUMPHANT PRIDE PRECIPITATES A DIZZYING FALL
Fuck, so I'm not the only one that noticed. Shit seems really powerful and it does seem to be something more than chance. It's gotten to the point where the Skelly Snipers are worse than pretty much anything else in the ruins.
Does anyone else find themselves taking a deep breath before hitting embark?
Yeah, I know, but usually they get spawned in pairs and my BH just can't keep up with them along with their amazing crits. Just got a MAA killed because he got critted twice in a row and I couldn't heal'em fast enough. It was the last room too.
How quickly the tide turns indeed.
keep that light up for that scouting
Have to make a detour.
>tfw you realize that the reason Deeds almost exclusively come from the Weald is because every time you clear out a Weald dungeon your making the road safer for recruits and blacksmith supplies to come in
D E E P E S T L O R E
If you're buying a key then its taking up inventory spots, bring 2.
You are nearly guaranteed to run into at least 1 key Curio in the ruins. Plus having 2 for secret room and a display case // sarcophagus // heirloom chest.
Go ahead, I ain't stopping you.
always? you're either doing it wrong or missing out the locked curios. when it says there is a lock in the curios description, that's when you use the lock. otherwise you're gonna waste it
Little is known about it, other than:
The Gender: Female
A general idea of her appearance: She will have a "silk road" aesthetic.
There is a rumor she will have a blunderbuss, but that might not be true.
One thing I don't like about the game's ending is that all throughout the game you are told by the ancestor that
>you CAN beat the evil, there IS hope, and all your sacrifices will bring peace to this troubled land once the horrors of the manor are defeated
yet once you beat the game, that very same ancestor starts saying
>yeah victory was pointless, your sacrifices amount to nothing, everything you did was for naught and no matter what you or anyone else does the horrors will win in the end
It just left a bad taste in my mouth to be honest
Staring a new file. Any suggestions for some new dankass team combos to try out?
So far my favorite is:
My close second is:
She sure made the Swine God a hell of a lot easier. She also constantly hits hard on the back line.
That still didn't stop me from sacrificing her at the end of the game. I don't even regret it.
>>yeah victory was pointless, your sacrifices amount to nothing, everything you did was for naught and no matter what you or anyone else does the horrors will win in the end
you bought time for later descendants to figure out if there is something you could do to stop it
sometimes you'll only scout a corridor, sometimes the entire dungeon. I think stacking scouting chance makes larger scouts more likely.
Depending on the length of the dungeon I only buy 8-12, 8-10 torches, 1-2 shovels, and like 0-4 random other provisions. Is that too much? I usually use all of the provisions.
After you spend a lot of gold putting together some champion level teams, money becomes much less of an issue because there won't be enough inventory space to bring back all the gold you're gonna find.
I usually send them on short missions.
8 food, about 4 torches to keep light up slightly, and a shovel.
Ruins: 2 holy water, 2 keys
Weald: extra shovel, bandage, antivenom, key
Warrens: holy water, bandage, key
Cove: extra shovels and a few herbs
>tfw shipping to basic in 3 days
>not enough time to beat the game
>not enough time for someone to let out a good lore video
>will never know the plot of this game.
Can someone break it down for me? I don't have time to get 3 groups to lvl 6
He's a real ride or die motherfucker, motherfucker.
Going through the dialog tables and I'm seeing a mark for a class called MUSKETNAME.
Like here's a sample

Just remember: the more gold I get, the less of IT you'll see.

This is my hunt and woe if you forget that!

Be grateful! They may name you when they sing my songs!

This expedition deserves a worthy leader! Me!

Step aside, I have trained under those who survived the Lost Jungle!

My attendants have outfitted me with the most lethal accoutrements!

Was this a class that got cut or is it something they intend to add in later?
my lepers only really notable quirk is Fated. 4/5 of his negative quirks are inconsequential and the last one is just extra stress when below 50% hp.
He HAD rabies till he got the black plague and had both cured.
Dismas head or Immunity mask?
Ancestor accidently summons eldritch world ending abomination which fucks up everything as you expect.
You travel there to end it.
You're able to seal it away temporarily.
You eventually succumb to
stressjust like he did but not before sending a letter to your heir in the hopes that they succeed where you failed.
Theres possibly some time-bullshit involved wherin you're sending the letter that brought you to the hamlet in the firat place, but im not sure.
Some guy writes to you to reclaim your home from the Dankest Dungeon. You find out the Dungeon is actually a gate to the core of the planet where you learn that the planet itself is gestating a cosmic horror from which all life came from and will return to upon death. You start getting meat vision and are driven to madness just as you manage to put the monster to sleep again. But since it will always try to re-emerge from it's meat-egg and destroy the world, you need to keep constant vigil. Or failing that, maybe just kill yourself and have someone else do it.
You won't see it unless you donated enough shekles to the kickstarter campaign.
> Pledge $49 or more
>INCLUDES ALL PREVIOUS REWARDS ● Exclusive playable Backers Only character class which will be voted upon by backers (you!) after the campaign closes.
Even though it's kickstarter exclusive, I have a feeling you'll probably just need to edit a line or two in the files to make her available to recruit for anybody.
The provision screen after and before meat vision
This is why you never should trust gypsies
THIS ISN'T EVEN MY FINAL FORM
I miss pre-patch Darkest Dungeon sometimes.
>Go into the first lvl 2 mission
>get shambler almost inmediatly
>its a short dungeon so fuck it,
>beat it and got most champs at 70 something stress
>inmediatly after get collector boss
>summons 1 of each
>they crit my jester into deaths dorr
>before i can heal him they crit again and dead
>he keeps spamming show collection and gets 2 of the champs into max stress.
>managed to kill him but now i have 3 champs and a minimum.
im still satisified,
Ok, but I thought the crappiest trinket had its own designation, very common or something like that? Oh well
You get more money from the gypsy? That so unrealistic it breaks my immersion
>go to game folder
>replace all .dd. files with normal files
>no more meat vision
I want a Negative Quirk that makes heroes become too attached to trinkets youve equipped to them. Meaning you cant unequip them and put them on the next guy.
It would stop me from rotating my top trinkets around different heroes. And also they might lose them during town activities.
Think of a Negative Quirk you'd want to be added to the game (but wouldnt necessarily want your heroes to get).
Just made a healing potion, anyone wanna test it out for me?
..I mean.. it probably still works..
I'm on week 24 with no deaths
I just happened to stumbled into a great party first mission though
I love this party so much I have two of it, and every other party I play with just dies or gets stressed out
Occultist, BH, MaA, Hellion
Too OP for my tastes. If your gonna add healing item that do 15 HP there needs to be a negative effect (for my tastes anyway).
Like make it debuff your characters speed (or whatever) until camp.
>dies or gets stressed out
I mean they get really fucking stressed out and death's door and I boot them.
I made a new save as well and lost a ton of niggas trying to do different party makeups
I do have zero deaths on this save file though
>I mean they get really fucking stressed out and death's door and I boot them.
>implying they dont die on their way back home through the forrest
Your hamlets graveyard might not be full but you sent those bastards to their deaths
>Doing a ruins run
>Haven't played game in months, started over with new estate save to get all them new features
>Run out of food pretty early, bad luck and not finding any
>Have to camp
>No food at camp
>Take stress damage and Occultist goes over the edge
>mfw starving induced concentration
>Saves the day
>Very next fucking mission play coves
>Very first time playing coves
>Mfw these debuffs
>Get hella meme'd on, party near the brink again
>Occultist once again in the hotseat
>He is tested
>He is COURAGEOUS
>Saves the day (again)
He doesn't even have any virtue based items or positive traits. But this is probably my favorite character I've ever come across.
>@ final boss
opt to die like heroes if you choose them
>Arbalest, plague doctor
bitch and whine
Wow. Well, Dismas and Reynauld
deserved that redemption. Shame there's no 'real' ending, maybe its different in NG+?
Oh boy here we go.
This trophy is going to turn my Grave Robber into a goddess of murder.
Can you only have one quest in every dungeon area, besides the boss quest? And these doesn't change from week to week, you actually have to enter them and finish/abandon?
If yes to both I'm seriously considering modding so you have at least two quest to choose from.
Had to back out because fucking everybody missed the fucking stick guy, and I'm not trusting in my Vestal to stun.
>+60% stress damage
>nullify effects with herb for 3 rounds
Why is Bounty Hunter so based, guys?
I was against the Shifting Tentaclebag and he got 4 crits in a row almost killing it by himself. True that everyone died anyway, but he almost went and did it the absolute madman.
I should have carried more bleed and stress resist
Here's another story of ass-clutching proportions
>2nd Quest in the Darkest Dungeon
>PD, the only one without the Talisman of the Flame, kept getting targeted by Revelation in the 4th rank everytime guard wore off
>MaA goes COURAGEOUS while Occultist turn into a simpering paranoid old fart.
>Final Templar set, outta scoobie snacks so Occultist needs to Mark for Houndmaster to one shot. Somehow I kept missing 70% attacks but MaA's Retribution is hitting it while it tries to push me away
>Occ suddenly eats a stinger to the face and dies to blight just as MaA's manage to swat away the Polyp. Situation is tense so I guard for extra PROT
>MaA down to death's door. Templar does revelation and suddenly COURAGEOUS MaA leaps in to tank for his Houndmaster Bro. DEATHBLOW
>Houndmaster is now in row 1. Can't use Houndrush and kill it in 2 turns
>Rushes the fucking Templar with his blackjack and clobber it to death with his tiny stick over 10 turns while it kept showing horrifying cosmic revelations. The Stun being the only thing that kept it from raping Houndmaster with his 2 actions
>Finally finish it off at 6 HP. GTFO and got tapeworm as the disease.
Now onwards to the final dungeon, thank god my A-team is ready.
>people actually want the game to be harder
>first time fighting swine boss
>Grave robber crits and kills the little dude first turn
I still beat him, but damn. That was brutal.
>THERE'S ACTUALLY HOUND MASTERS NOW
Holy crap, beastmaster classes are my fucking jam
eh, being filthy rich isn't a hidden achievement.
fuck you too game.
Fuuuck I've said for the longest time that I would go back to work on my, er, "mod" when DD is out of Early Access.. Guess its time to gather up some good pics to use.
I will be taking requests too, although don't expect results fast.
I personally dont care about achievements - but isnt the point of them to complete the challenges within the games vanilla rules? Are most achievement hunters like that?
No offence just asking.
The only hero I lost in the entire game.
There's a few in the Nexus but I'm not gonna lie, they look like shit, the colors they use stand out too much to the colors used in the game. There are a few good looking ones like the Pit Fighter, the Trap Maker, and the Fiend but most look bad.
The greatest spoiler of the game.
I'm fucking dying.
The plot for Darkest Dungeon is basically a Lovecraft version of Earth X.
> Tfw 50+ heirlooms in a single run as well as the achievement for 20,000+ gold in a single run.
It's only week 11.
This is the run m8s.
Current hero tier list:
thats not a plot
i think if you win the fight their trinkets appear at the end of the battle with the rest of the loot - hopefully you'll have room in your inventory to get it all.
thats how it was before anyway
omg I love this code.
So neat. So organized. So easily modded.
Also trinkets going off screen.
Not the best team for shamalimadanmadong but it's an apprentice dungeon so fuck it
>tfw losing my first adventurer
>at level 5
I miss my good Hellion already. Fuck the Cove so much. Why do the basic mooks do do much fucking damage?
Shambler attack that went HORRIBLY wrong.
> Tfw you miss a Clapperclaw faggot 4 times in a row.
I just sorta assumed that retreat is not an option against the Shambler, due to fact it drags you to Final Destination.
Ok, so the necromancer wasn't (as exected) too hard.
Shame everything else in that run went to shit.
>Ruins Explorer houndmaster refusing to do one scout the entire run.
>TRAPS, TRAPS ERRYWHIRR
"Ok, there's only one room left before the necrocuck, I can probably camp and buff up now".
>Ambush+3 battles on the way to and from the last standard room. 4 skeles that refused to not crit managing to put 60+ stress on everyone.
I just want a linear corridor so I have some sort of idea of where the Prince is
>mfw loosing concentration on the second pounder fight and letting the fusilier light it up, once!
I kew it would be bad, but holy fuck entire well off party brought down to deaths door?
I was lucky that it was on the last stretch so I only lost one guy and still beat it but still.
don't do it guys, don't ever let the fusilier light that fucking cannon.
Thinking of doing Palette Swaps for heroes, I'll try to pump out at least 1 weekly, any idea where I should host them? I don't really wanna bother with Nexusmods.
Anyway, my first try. Based off Sir Justin from Seven Soldiers of Victory, thinking of doing a Vigilante one for Highwayman. The key to not making the colors too garish is to never ever increase saturation or brightness. If you're trying to lighten the color, lower saturation, if you're trying to darken it lower brightness but not to the point where the shading is barely noticeable or gets ruined.
Forgot Pic Related.
Can I get some tips on a Siren party? Right now I'm thinking
Plague < Occult < Houndmaster or BH < Leper
I wanna zerg her down while keeping the charmed hero stunned with Blackjack or Uppercut. Leper for the high debuff resist. I feel like Plague's damage may be too slow.
You were right. Never expected /vg/ to teach me something super useful, thanks for that bros!
So, I haven't played this since he beastmaster update, since I was saving it to full release.
I've only did a few runs so far, but jesus fucking christ, the difficulty has been amped up.
I know I'm at the start with unupgraded heroes, but still. Mobs do a lot more damage and stress than what I was used to.
Don't ever forget what you learned today.
Makes most boss missions a cakewalk, less bullshit has chance to happen, dungeons with normaly utterly atrocious layouts become short straight walks.
And you can still explore anyway if whatever boss didn't tear you apart.
If I had brought an Occultist, I would've done the rest of the dungeon. The prince was surprisingly easy, except for when he smacked my Abomination for 16 damage. Are all bosses just easier in the full release, or have I gotten better at making a proper lineup?
>there is people who defends the random hunger system
Dumbest shit possible.
>feed them all till they full
>suddenly a party-wide hunger
What is Wilbur's story?
Why does the Swine King get so pissed if you attack him?
Is he his bff? His son?
I'm curious and I want to know
>get a hunger tick
>one room later
>another hunger tick
They definatley smoothed out the progression a bit more with the low rank stuff being easier and the champion level stuff being harder than before.
I remember times, when maxed out parties just would destroy champion level dungeons and trinkets were still shit back then.
so I'm not quite sure I understand the story correctly, the Ancestor DID not kill himself? Or was the boss fight with him just an illusion/phantom caused by the heart of darkness?
>utterly atrocious dungeon layouts
I remember one missions that was explore 90% of the rooms. fortunately it was a linear corridor, it didn't even have any branching off points.
Unfortunately I was smack in the middle of a 16 room long hallway.
They've done some good things, but that shit still being in is bullshit
That's actually untrue.
Human souls go back into the heart when bodies die. Pigs are human souls summoned from the heart into animal bodies that were affected with the flesh essence that the Ancestor spilled near the Warrens. That's why they behave almost like humans. The essence itself mutated pig bodies, sometimes unppredictably (the Flesh boss).
probably killed himself, but due to his arcane knowledge retained some form of control over his spirit. You see, all souls go back into the Heart when humans die, so naturally that's what he did. He wasn't really your ancestor though. He just wanted more bloodshed for the Beast to awaken and make a world single being again (instead of multiple lumps of flesh that it is now). You shot yourself in the end because you couldn't handle constant meat vision, thus writing a letter to your descendants so they could come back and keep the Beast sleeping, as the history is an endless cycle. Another interpretation is that the world actually ends when the Heart "dies" and reborns, thus starting the cycle anew.
I genuinely thought they'd be fine, then I got poisoned to death even after bringing several anti-venom's.
>then crit heals for 30 when your main damage dealer is on Death's Door
>3 heros on deaths door
>one brigand with a gun left
>jester gets the lowest possible roll on damage and the brigand lives with 1 hp
>he goes first despite two of my heros having higher speed
>kills all 3 of my heros on deaths door
That clutch brigand will be the hero around the campfire for many nights to come.
I'm not sure about that.
>The ways and rituals of blood sacrifice
are difficult to master.
>Those from beyond require a physical vessel if they are to make the
crossing into our reality. The timing of the chants is imperative -
>without the proper utterances at precise intervals,
the process can fail spectacularly.
>My first attempts at summoning were crude
and the results, disappointing.
>I soon found however, that the type and condition
of the host's meat was a critical factor.
>The best results came from pigs, whose
flesh is most like that of man.
Whatever is being put into the pig corpses, they're not from the heart, they're from another reality.
>Double templar, last fight needed to beat quest
>Managed to keep team at full HP and lower than 30 stress over the dungeon
>Ocultist goes first, mark forward templar
>Drop him to half health
>They attack, my ocultist is dead from pure damage before turn 2 starts, Highwayman already at death's door
>Kill forward templar, but not after he and his pal drop all my guys to death's door (still turn 2)
>Templar goes first
>Single target highwayman, deathblow
>Target 2 front rows, double deathblow
I give up, it's my 3rd team wipe on this fight.
Try this team, maybe it'll work.
I keep restarting over and over again
I think I'm doing okay now but I'm scared of the jump to medium dungeons
What are some good party setups?
Good named characters? I've seen in other threads that some are pretty great
Fuck the cove
>What are some good party setups?
This group has been worked pretty well for me.
I don't know how well it works in early dungeons, but at end game, they can come out of a dungeon with low stress.
Quad HWM setup.
The one on point uses PBS. This can cause a switching meatgrinder sometimes, which is great. Two middle ones grapeshot or pistol shot high value targets.
One at the back pistol shots.
Works like a charm.
Okay, I made a Palette Swap for Crusader, based off Shining Knight. You can dl it here.
>What are some good party setups?
I'm too inexperienced to say, but so far, I've noticed that you want to build a party for the area. The cove mainly is big on Eldritch and High Prot minions. So I try to get Occultist and a blighter in my party when going there.
Look out for synergy, teams that cover each base, or that play of each-other so nicely that it doesn't matter.
My go-to team is Occultist/Jester/Abom/Abom
1st Abom: Turn every fight, kill stuff, try to cheese some self-heals when the battle is virtually won.
2nd Abom: blight and stun from rage, self-heal if you need to. Panic mode: activate both abominations
Jester: buff song unless someone needs stress heal, this is the guy that allows you to carry an always-turned abomination, will even help you stay in fights where you need the two like with bosses or surprise parties. You will most likely stress heal or stack buff all the time, but keep a bleed attack and the shiv stab just in case.
Occultist: both aboms do a decent job of healing themselves, so vestal team-heals are not required (and impossible to get in the same team), he will AA the backline and pull the stressers of the enemy's 4th row, clear corpses, consider debuffing dangerous enemies.
This team kills the cove, and really works well anywhere. Specially if you give the Occultist the anti-eldrich incense.
because she thinks irony is delicious as hell.
starting on a new skin, probably won't finish this one till tomorrow since it's like midnight here.
Guess who this one is based off.
Anyway, after this I'll probably go
>Pink Plague Doctor (Because Lewds)
>Dr Strange Occultist (If I manage to, I might be able to swap the turban out for the hair, but only if I managed to find one that doesn't clash with the game's art style)
I really like how this one came out.
Holy shit the siren is difficult.
I ran Vestal/GR/BH/Crusader and I hardly won with everyone around 90 stress and my GR dead.
In the second turn she converted my crusader and he onehitted my GR. I only won because I resisted her mostly but I don't know how I should beat her on higher levels.
>tfw I did that the first time going in blind
You have 15 seconds to explain why you use a HWM over Grave Robber.
> everyones shitting on the M@A
Maybe he becomes useless in champion dungeons but he has been my man so far.
Stunning and hitting like a truck, crutch defending my squishies when the game desides crits are the default for enemies, even clearing out enemies witch 1-2 hp left with his aoe attack.
Okay so I've bought this game since it's finally out of early access, and holy shit it's buggy.
I tried it on my first computer and the game crashed on the Red Hook screen before the intro. I disabled the steam overlay and that fixed it, but I still had some minor graphic glitches.
Now I'm trying it on my other computer, and the game crashes on the loading screen when I'm loading my game, and I can't find a fix for it.
How the hell did they consider the game was good to be released? If it's feature-complete but still buggy it means that it's a beta.
what are enemy team comps that just yell, "Fuck you, you won't finish this battle without someone losing a quarter of their health"
4 fucking Fishmen. They deal consistent high damage and are pretty crit happy.
2 Gropers and 2 Markers.
A Collector that spawns 3 Highwaymen
A Collector that spawns 2 Highwaymen and an MaA that guards one of the HWM
Fucking Rabid Dogs
and that's just apprentice dungeons.
Fat chance. Games works fine for everyone else tho
>A Collector that spawns 2 Highwaymen and an MaA that guards one of the HWM
Is it that bad ? I got a collector on my lvl 2 party to kill the Hag (apprentice) and it went okay. Granted I had a burst party but the heads usually die in few hits
>Fucking Rabid Dogs
The true bane of this game
>Lost my best Occultist to Inchoate Flesh
If only I had read up on him so I could've given him Bloodied Fetish
>Maybe he becomes useless in champion dungeons
He's actually at his best in Champion dungeons. Overall his damage falls short but he makes up for it with a great stun, guarding, and being able to debuff enemy speed/dodge to shit. Also Bellow likes to crit often, given that it's aoe, and does good stress healing.
the only time I've ever had trouble with this game was on launch day when the game had the weird frame drops while moving in hallways, but that was fixed nearly instantly once the game was out and people complained about it
chug a few holy waters, stun whoever is taken over anyway, ignore the octopussy or stun him when he guards the siren, wreck her shit.
Also equip a skill on everybody to hit from the rows they are typically not in.
>take a fresh Man at Arms into the warrens
>three rooms later, my Leper, MaA, Vestal are all insane
>Jester can't keep up with four people stressing each other out
>He too eventually loses it
>the MaA's dies of a heart attack
HOW DID THIS HAPPEN
I don't know, Jester's stress heal is really good. Maybe you didn't use it as often and made him attack?
I find it's better to keep him in the back with finale, entire team buff skill, stress heal, entire forward enemy debuff, and just spam stress heal and buff, unless you can give him some space to try for crit.
>first fight on a long Weald mission
>3 out of 4 heroes get The Worries
It's going to be one of those quests.
Where did you get the information about souls?
Fixed Aboms doing weird things while charmed by the Siren
Fixed some more heroes not having skills unlocked.
Fixed ability to drop trinkets into provisioning inventory
Fixed Save Reload issues around exiting the game after completing a quest
Honestly, achievements just feel like people feel the need to have, it's retarded.
There's no point for games to have achievements anymore, no one checks what their friends have unlocked, it's just for people with OCD.
What's the point of putting your man at arms in position 4?
just to run bolster command and defender?
seems like a waste of good stun and damage
seriously disappointed they never came up with anything better than the "This dungeon is below me" mechanic
playing a run where you aim to clear all bosses is tedium moreso than challenge
How do you guys name your characters? Do you keep the default, or do you try to give them specific names?
I've been giving names of friends and people I know to characters that would fit, but it's getting hard to find some appropriate names for some classes. I have avoided getting a man-at-arms or a beastmaster for this very reason, I don't know anybody with a fucking dog nor an old guy that isn't my dad. Custom skins mods help, but they don't exist for all classes.
Check the events log, also hope you didn't have a good trinket on him since he can fucking loose it like MY LAST GODDAMN FUCKING LEPER WHY DID HE DROP THAT BERSERKER MASK
>go first run against mr skeletal ship
>do camping in previous room
>arbalest gets a huge buffs
>mark 100hp skellington with houndmaster
>arbalest crits for 52
>brown rambos turn again
>this time crit 56 and finish the
I may try drawing some custom made characters copying the style (I'm a prof. artist). Anything you guys may suggest? I can't promise result, just may do it later for funsies.
I had in mind some kind of druid like hermit or some seafarer guy.
>start a new game after some fuckups that left both my parties lacking vital roles
>default crusader + hwm through the woods before you get to the village
>2 bandit fight, hwm gets killed, crusader ends up with 90 stress
welp, time to restart again
came here to post this, 2/3 of my current runs are darkruns with freshmen just to grind to the bosses on apprentice level while my level 3-4 areslowly running out, hitting 5 after what feels like 2 missions.
god I'm glad when I finaly can just focus on champion level and the occasional lower run to level up new dudes.
Reverse gender classes.
Or just classes visual variations(like different looking helmets/hats/weapons/armours/clothes/hair). heck even more recolours will be nice.
Its very easy to add new visual variants to the classes.
Or add new gender bender classes.
Just increase max stack loots and quest items, allow higher level heroes to use lower level dungeons and allow lower level heroes to use higher level of upgrades.
Even without the last game become not easier but less grindy.
