like, you put down your armor pack and then you're basically nothing special and just a recruit.

They should make rook less essential and more fun to play.

I think they did something right

I like Rook the most in Hostage.

I always put a shield behind the hostage, and camp there with him.

It darkens the hostage and myself enough that when being shot, or shooting at someone they can barely see the hostage is actually right there infront of myself.

1. Place the DP-28 behind dry wall facing the objective room.
When the enemy breaches in, wallbang the living shit out of them, the DP-28 does over 80 damage to medium armor and this value is barely affected by obstacles in the way

2. Opt to use barbed wire instead of a deployable shield. Put the wires on places where enemies are bound to come. Mount your gun somewhere near, and when you hear the cue, get ready to fire.

3. Push forward and try to gain the attention of the attackers by shooting at them. Chances are, you won't lose much health due to your very heavy armor. Lure them into a hallway in which you have placed your DP-28, and then mow them down/have your teammate mow them down using the weapon.

4. Just roam. Tachanka is as viable as Kapkan for roaming save for the fact that he has no C4. He has the best SMG in the game, and his armor (especially with Rook on your team) makes it hard for the enemy to win one-on-one confrontations with him.

5. Just put a DP-28 at the end of a long hall way and wait for people. This probably will only get you one kill, but hey.
