3DS: 9.2 (10.3 for userland / downgrade, eShop is x.x.x-28 only)
Wii U: 5.5.1 (Upcoming IOSU exploit, stay where you are to be safe)
Vita: 3.51 (Userland)
PS4: 1.76 (Webkit)
O3DS emuNAND can update all the way to 10.3
N3DS emuNAND 9.5 stable
N3DS emuNAND 10.3 for Gateway, plus experimental Cakes/Rei builds
DOWNGRADING: http://pastebin.com/ZfA8wtA2 • http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW • http://pastebin.com/ndvW5Aji
-10.4 NOT TODAY
-Browserhax server is temporarily kill
-memchunkhax2 is a kernel11 exploit that allows downgrading to 9.2, and works with every firmware including 10.3.
-Gateway v3.7 adds 10.3 emuNAND support for New 3DS
-Rei and mid-kid vomit out stable 10.3 N3DS emuNAND builds of ReiNAND and CakesFW
-Smea started working on hax 3.0
>Is downgrading safe?
Safe as it gets for now. Most bricks seem to be people using the wrong firmware. Be sure you understand the process.
-A libkhax variant of mch2 sysUpdater compiled by julian20 implements the safest settings so far.
-Getting the downgrader to even start can require many tries. Opening and closing an FTP app supposedly helps.
-Turn your Wifi switch on and keep the console plugged into its charger.
-Blank screen can be caused by Menuhax. Try pulling your SD card if you get it. Boot, reinsert, change theme.
-It would appear Yellows8's .mp4 exploit has not been patched in 5.5.1
-Cobra Black Fin was announced. http://wololo.net/2015/12/07/cobra-black-fin-an-upcoming-dongle-to-play-ps-vita-isos/
-A Vita update got released, you might not want to update since it fixes the email exploit.
Linkbucks etc. bypass / Anti-Adblock Killer Guide
Even if you already used my guide, you should replace line 4716 again on the AdsBypasser script, as I made a mistake the first time around. Thanks to the anon who first noticed. Also, the MultiUp filter has changed, so go update that too.
I sucessfully downgraded I got the
> "Updates installed. Rebooting in 10 seconds..."
but it didnt reboot so I followed these instructions
> Leave the system for 5 minutes, it should reboot on it's own
> If it doesn't, remove your SD card and wait another 2-3 minutes
> If it still hasn't rebooted, or it is constantly rebooting, turn off the console.
> Place the SD card back inside and turn the console back on.
every single thing on that list I did, I waited 5 minutes, I took the SD card out and waited 3 minutes for it to reboot, then I shut down the console and put the SD card in and turned it on.
Only now after I turned it back i just get a black screen, no error message or anything, it's been like this for 5 minutes. what should I do?
Uh it should work flawlessly mate
All that shit you just listed is people afraid of doing something that could fuck up installation or paranoid
As soon as it says Updates installed. rebooting in 10 secs It should reboot, if it doesn't wait a minute or two if its not doing anything fucking force shut down that shit and turn it on
AT THIS POINT it should work normally if it doesn't Im not trying to scare you but did you make sure to use the correct firmware for your system?
>Remove SD card
>While a process reading files from your SD card to your Sysnand is still running
Who writes these guides, just leave the console on for 5 minutes and if it ain't still done you know it is just gamble now and you close the system by forcing it with power button and turn on and 8/10 times it worked just fine.
Recovery mode, and stop following retarded fucking guides.
Just additional notes:
I had this happen on like 3 3DS systems, N3DS and O3DS alike. All times I let it be for around 1 minute or so, and after just forced shutdown, and every time the downgrade had worked fine afterwards. Then again I might be using different sysupdater than everyone else in this thread.
I tried to do one on rxTools last week, but I think I botched it
>Boot into emuNAND on Target System
>None of my games appear
>Try to log into eShop (no NNIDs on any system) to revalidate the licenses, no dice
>Go into Data Management. All games are there but are greyed and crossed out.
Anyways, I did an emuNAND and folder restore on my source system and got everything back. But I dunno if emuNAND to emuNAND transfer really is doable...
it's worked now for some reason, guess everything works on the 3rd time.
>Recovery mode, and stop following retarded fucking guides.
I got recommended this guide, http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW and I followed everything in there to the T.
>AT THIS POINT it should work normally if it doesn't Im not trying to scare you but did you make sure to use the correct firmware for your system?
Yes I read everything twice and downloaded all the files I should have 3 times just to be sure.
>look up earthbound themes
>they're all nothing but shitty themes with the same smash 4 renders of ness/lucas on top of a blue/orange background with the earthbound emblem
Never realized motherfags were so uncreative. They act like there's no other pictures or artwork for the Mother characters.
I'm running into error 022-2634 when I try to open up the eshop or update a game on my o3ds running 10.3 on the emuNAND. Any fix for this? I was under the impression that you could update and fully access everything a legit 3ds would have
Well I just explained why pulling the SD card is retarded as fuck. That works only to make the thing worse, if it won't reboot you wait, and if it don't do anything you turn off the console pulling the SD card while the program might be trying to access it or whatever is silly. At worst you end up doing just more damage with that than just hard reboot. Like said I had the reboot hand few times for few 3DS'es and it was fine every time.
Backup your SD
Format current emuNAND
Setup new emuNAND
Check if the eShop works
Clone emuNAND.bin to emuNAND
Restore SD backup
The problem here is that when you format sysNAND to unlink NANDs, it tells Nintendo to log out your NNID from your 3DS. But, as you cloned your sysNAND to emuNAND before doing that, your emuNAND is still logged in although Nintendo's servers think it's not.
Next time you want to unlink NANDs, use TinyFormat on sysNAND.
Haven't use it, so I don't know how it works.
I wrote this some threads ago so have like most fast way I can type this out because I am lazy.
Backup emunand. Emunand9 or emunand tool.
Backup your nintendo 3DS folder entirely from your SD card to your PC.
Boot to your emunand and open system settings, other settings and format system.
After that boot back to emunand, do initial system settings and so on. Then go to system settings and NNID, connect back to your NNID.
After that is done, shut down system, restore your emuNAND with emunandtool or if that don't work (did not with N3DS for me) emuNAND9. Then copy the old Nintendo 3DS folder to your SD too.
And should be OK again. This is caused by you deactivating your system with unlinking nands.
What if Nintendo is paying some Chinese cyber attack group to disrupt browserhax until 10.4?
Similar problem here.
I succesfully updated Smash through the console itself, but I'm having problems to update Ghost Recon. What kind of errors do you get when you try to update games that are not from your region? I always try to dowload ROMs from mine, but perhaps this one passed through.
It's a single guy in this thread that says it works. Doesn't work for me.
By the way, I did format my emunand already and I have full access to my NNID.
Works for me too, m8.
So I'm basically signing in to NNID on an emuNAND I won't actually be using? Oh does signing in link the actual 3DS ID to their servers and not just the "profile" ID?
>not having another entry point by now
Just give your OoT3D cart a use already. You are not going to play it again anyway and you can simply download a ROM anyway.
O3ds top screen just kicked the bucket.
What FW are the refurbished 2ds/3dsXL on nintendo's site?
It also works. It worked yesterday, and it worked right now. I wonder if it has to do with location. I'm on Puerto Rico.
That's correct. It's why you need to do a system transfer to use your NNID on another 3DS.
Is 5.5.1 the latest one?
Someone I know was on about buying one but worrying about getting an unexploitable firmware, is he safe wherever he goes?
Also, when I try installing cias through fbi on pasta cfw, I get an insufficient size error while having like 50gb free on my micro sd
Kek oops. Just finished system transfering my O3DS emunand to N3DS emunand and it has soft-bricked with error code 028-3220.
GBAtemp says to turn the router off and then try, but we'll see I guess.
Just making sure. Everything written in pic related is correct, right? Is there anything else I need to do or know if I want to switch to a new SD card?
I've downgraded once without any problems at all, but I'd rather not risk buying one just to brick it trying to downgrade.
No it is just all elaborate fabriciation making you loose your shit by copying all of your shit 1:1 as it was.
Holy shit, this was the last place I expected to see Katta Ramos
Except actually scratch that shit, unless you are a gateway user, just use Emunand9 othersie (it's a 3DSX use it from your sysnand as it works only on 9.2
it is not hard to figure out Emunand9 other than it just being better.
It's pretty much impossible to brick during a downgrade now unless you pick the wrong firmware files. I had a partial downgrade where it only patched half the files and it still booted into recovery mode, where you can upgrade it to 10.3 and then downgrade to 9.2. Of course, this all goes out the window if you wait until Nintendo releases 10.4 because then you can't use recovery mode.
If the 3DS is coming from Nintendo, it's probably on 9.6 firmware or higher; the N3DS I bought the other day was at least. And at that point you've got to downgrade anyway.
Got a Gateway coming in the mail hopefully soon. I'm on 9.2 and know that I probably shouldn't update, but do I need to bother with any stuff like CFW and homebrew or does Gateway just work right out of the box? The website and the retailers were kind of sparse with info.
For FFTCC, definitely touch 100%.
It's more fun and I keep a better rhythm that way, slightly hitting things works better for keeping a rhythm in my brain than pressing things with my thumb.
>Is already on 9.2
>Can do everything and more for free with CFW
>Wastes money on a Gateway
I've been playing Theatrhythm Dragon Quest and I just can't follow the faster parts on the highest difficulty on touch. Should I just get good?
If you have access to HBL you can already use the GW Menu to get stuff ready. Back the SD card up, make a NAND backup with GW and then format the Emunand.
After that it's a cause of putting roms in the GW cart and you're good to go.
Phew, turning the router off let me into the Home Menu at least. Just running the eShop now so it can fully sync my shit then I'm good!
I also now have a useless 9.2 O3DS with all it's original sysnand games still running.
Okay, so basically, I don't have to worry about browserhax or anything theoretically. I already had to do the downgrade, so I've got access to HBL, but a friend of mine got one too and was worried about the possible pending 10.4 and wanted to know if he's safe. Thanks anons.
Can I update physical games with he update cia an running it like it's normally done in FBI? I got a game or two I'm looking to actually buy.
Sure. It in that case has already crashed and there is nothing more you can do, you just hard off the console rip the band aid off and see how it went. If it blackscreens boot into recovery mode.
On Sysnand get Menuhax set up and put some garbage as the Internet Connections.
From then on you'll autoboot into Emunand and should theoretically be safe forever now that 9.6+ is supported.
So anyone know how to install Fire Emblem Awakening DLC off a cia? I ran the cia with FBI but the DLCs don't show up when I go to the outrealm gate, only the one I actually bought from the shop.
helpz me plz anonz
Yeah, I have menuhax done already, but as I said, a friend of mine is on 4.x (not sure which version exactly) and was wondering whether he could just use the gateway right away or whether he needed menuhax/HBL for some step of the process.
For O3DS you don't need to do anything special with a Gateway. Here's a quick rundown for a vanilla 3DS with no emuNAND:
1. Format SD card as FAT32
2. Download Gateway firmware and put Launcher.dat at root of SD card
3. Use the 3DS browser to go to http://go.gateway-3ds.com/ or http://3ds.reboot.ms
4. Format emuNAND
5. Boot into Gateway Mode
6. You can put FBI.cia on your internal SD card and FBI.3ds on your Gateway card. Press Select in Gateway mode and you can boot FBI.3ds. If you want, you can use it to install the cia version, but you don't have to.
7. Use TinyFormat to format your emuNAND.
8. Make double damn sure you're in Gateway Mode (it will say GW<Version String> in Settings) and then upgrade the emuNAND to 10.3
Things to do:
Use BigBlueMenu instead.
If you are using out of your own region (or, to be very precise, the console's region) game and DLC, you need help of little something we call little NTR.
>people wasting loads of effort translating games that are already going to get localized like FE Fates and MHX
>nobody making translations for games that are NEVER EVER like game center CX or DQM
Damn, thanks a lot for creating such a detailed step-by-step guide. Gonna screencap it, just in case. I appreciate all the help.
I use a 64GB Samsung Evo SDXC.
SDXC cards are only not compatible when they're in the exFAT format they come in, as opposed to the FAT32 they need to be.
Windows won't let you format it to FAT32 for some reason, so you'll need another tool.
After that you're good to go.
In retrospect i should have been smarter about following the
>remove sd card
It worked 9.2.0 get, thanks anon you da best.
I'll keep following this guide, http://pastebin.com/EBKipkPW, unless anyone of you have any better ideas.
I have and european og 3ds, the european game on cartridge. The uploader didn't specify what region the DLC was, but someone claiming to be from europe posted that it worked for them.
So I just format to FAT32 and use this
and my CFW and installed CIAs will be fine?
That guide is pretty terrible, just from shit like injecting FBI when you can just install the CIA on sysnand. At least it guides to use Emunand9 etc but eh whatever. I would say rather than that guide, this guide is better:
If you are using O3D it is almost identical instead of the firmware thing, pretty much. That guide works for O3DS and all you do differently is download O3DS firmware files with the python script RXtools itself has, than going hunting for others. But you should now use cakes or reinand on N3DS anyway, thouigh RXtools is really great for it's toolbox.
Also if you want latest RXtools and I know the nightly site is not very good
This guy keeps building RXtools nightlies himself and has a mirror, so thank |Shadow| - do not follow his guide though it is quite archaic as well, and missing usage of Emunand9 and so on last I checked.
I see people saying that the browserhax method is still working, but I'm having trouble getting it to launch homebrew still. The starter kit is on my sd card and I changed my DNS to Google's DNS. When I open browser, all it does is try to load the page and then takes me to a blank white screen in the browser. I also cleared all of my history and cookies and initialized save data on the browser.
I'm honestly not sure what I'm doing wrong. I'm on O3DS 9.2.0-20.
Since I can't get to browserhax to continue right now, I'll ask those who have it:
Can you pirate games, put them onto emuNAND, and then download the updates on the emuNAND from the eshop like a normally purchased game?
I'm having a ton of problem with my 3ds 4gb card
Since games are around 1.5gb - 2 gb and I only have 2.7 gb on the card so with everything I have on there from the stuff naturally on the card I can't even get a single game onto my 3ds
Is it a problem with the sd card, like should I go about trying to fix that card or can I migrate to another one?
I tried migrating the data from the old stock card to a new 16 gb card that I made sure was compatible. I start it up and boot rxtools but then the program tells me it can't boot emuNAND and starts the other shit instead.
tl;dr I want to use a new sd card, do I have to start from scratch?
SysUpdater is a fucking piece of shit. When you're starting it, it will either:
- Freeze to a black screen on start
- Freeze after displaying the text on the screen.
- Freeze after you press Y to downgrade
- Error out saying it couldn't load CIA info
- Error out while patching
As long as it doesn't freeze after it starts actually patching (Don't reboot after it says "Getting CIA info" unless it shows the above "Couldn't load CIA info error") then you can just reboot your system and try again. You may have to try many, many, many times. Hundreds for some people. Seriously. And if it errors while patching you need to boot into recovery mode (Power off, then hold L+R+Up+A while powering on), which will upgrade your system to 10.3 so you can try again.
Use SafeSysUpdater instead, it just works.
I think it's possible, but unsafe because of the whole "avoid all contact with nintendo at all costs" thing. Most people just download CIAs of games with the updates already patched onto them.
>RXtools itself has, than going hunting for others. But you should now use cakes or reinand on N3DS anyway, thouigh RXtools is really great for it's toolbox.
anywhere I can read up on these tools, pros cons, what to watch out for etc.
Tfw playing mhx with pals until the cafe closes
Yes, put a 800x240 image named imagedisplay.png on the menuhax folder and choose the option to set a custom image. Pic related
MY BONER AAAH FUU-- Wait what the fuck is up with her toes
I can't fap to that!
When you press L while booting rxtools you get decryption, etc tools whatever. What I most generally use myself is XORpad generator. Of course most of these tools also have alternative of decrypt 9 more or less.
I'm on N3ds reinand 10.3 and I want to know how updating game go?
By thaht I mean some game ask me if I want to update them before launching, is it safe?
Also if I want to add DLC do I need those update and is the DLC installation the same as the game?
So I can play all games I want and everything
justworks. Should I still keep updating shit or should I just play my shit and update my software a few weeks later? Im almost certain that most of the CFW stuff is still far from perfect and Im more or less betatesting here for the sake of free games.
So I properly got everything working once, but wanted to switch over to a larger SD card for more space. Can I just reformat the new SD card with EmuNAND9 and then copy over all the files from my old SD card to my new one, or do I have to unlink the new SD card as well?
>>... you CAN install homebrew launcher CIA to sysnand too... I did that... Fucking hell does ANYBODY know here what the fuck they are talking about?
i mean you could, but you'd have to inject it or launch cfw on sysnand to see it since it's unsigned
or are you doing something special to make it show up
9.2 emuNAND N3DS w/ CakesFW + netorare here
I heard Cakes got 10.3 support, do I just download the new build and replace the files on the SD card or are there some hoops I have to go through
Also, unrelated, but is ReiNAND any good as a CFW? What advantages does it hold against the competition? Is a DS flash cart required to install and access it?
This means the "3ds" folder and "3DS" folder merges. I should do it, right?
I need to remember that. But I'm having a bigger problem before that getting the focal point right as I have no way to test this easily without some kind of software to help me.
Or maybe I should start with less complex pictures.
So I just migrated my SD card to a new one, and I can't get past the bootup screen. Boots into the rxTools selection screen okay, but if I try and select the rxTools it freezes. I can enter the homebrew launcher fine though.
Any ideas? Did I just format the thing incorrectly?
I created a flash of my old SD card, slapped it on my new one. Then extended the partition.
localization is more than just censorship. also they replace a lot of things in the text/ things are lost in translation that you can't get from the localized text. it'd actually be a pain in the ass finding everything wrong with all the localized text instead of translating everything uncensored by scratch. i believe the only real thing they are having trouble with is translating the third path and DLC because there is currently no way to apply patches to DLC for translations and install modded DLC and have the game recognize it afaik.
>there're methods to still run GBA games.
Really? Can you point me in the right direction?
I mean, themehax would be nice to have, but I'd obviously rather play games. The harder question here is can I relink them or do I have to completely start over?
I'm getting the same white blank page with a slider as well. I've clicked all over the right side of the page and nothing happens.
And ten if I click on the little line on the top left side, it crashes the browser. Don't know what to do.
>WHAT? THE GUIDE SAID TO FOLLOW IT BY THE LETTER!
>check to see if I can unlink the NANDs in part D I keep on getting a red screen
Where do you get this red screen from? Do you have themehax/menuhax installed to load rxTools directly? That would be a problem, as that is exactly the reason you're unlinking.
Probably asked a million times but I just want to make sure I get it right before I try.
To transfer over to a new sd it's just
>Copy everything from SD
>Swap over to new SD
>Inject emunand.bin from last SD into New SD
Right? and I can format 128gb to work with an o3ds correct?
How to play GBA games using Nintendo's emulator? I saw a picture of somefag's home menu having Pokemon Emerald on it. mGBA is currently shit (7fps per second or some shit, doesn't upscale)
install 10.3.0-28 emuNAND then install it with BigBlueMenu then use BootNTR and use the Japanese language emulation plugin for the demo. the ID for the folder you need is on 3DSiso. put langemu_jp.plg in /plugins/[ID]/
The DS? Yeah it just froze at the rxTools selection screen so I forced it off. Turned it on, it booted the Homebrew Screen fine, so I turned it off and tried rxTools again and it froze again.
You click on the right end of the line at the top-left of the page and it should begin to load the launcher. The homebrew launcher isn't 100% guarantee to run properly every single time. If it crashes, try it again until it loads properly.
so there is a lot of information and i'm not sure which is applicable to me and my 3dsxl. Do I need Gateway3ds? what is emuNAND? sysNAND? What can I do currently if I get CFW on my 3dsXL? What CFW should I be using? Pros and Cons?
I'm trying to install the DLC for Theatrhythm Final Fantasy Curtain Call but only 2 DLC songs are showing up. I'm not entirely sure but I think those 2 songs are ones I bought off the eShop when I owned a physical copy of the game. How do I fix this?
Next step was just to press SELECT so you could eject SD without 3ds turning off. If I'm not mistaken, it was for you to just make a backup in your pc, right? I'm not sure, but I think this will not fuck up the process. Just get to the screen you should be for the next step after the backup.
you have to log in to see them in 3dsthem.es
3dsthemes.com used to have some
3dsthem.es apparently doesn't like lolis, they removed some of Redworthy's from there, but you can download them from Mega
I have a 10.3 update file on my micro SD. And I'm using ReiNand. Would I boot into ReiNand by holding r, then click ReiNand, open homebrew by using HB launcher, Sysupdate, and then update? Also, when I try and change custom themes the music always stays the same, anyone know a fix?
If you are in emuNAND (make fucking sure) you can just use the official system update option in system settings to get your emuNAND up to 10.3. Also make sure you have a cfw that supports 10.3 emuNAND on the version of 3ds you have.
Welp, alright then. Thanks.
Actually, I wasn't able to get the emuNand Tool to work because I was trying to use it on a clean SD. Will it work now that I have the emuNand on the new SD?
If that's the case then anyone with any sexual attraction to anything other than the average adult of the opposite sex has a mental disorder.
That includes homos and every fetish under the sun. You're not into cute girl cartoons doing sexy things, but I'm sure you aren't perfect either, and when it comes down to it we're all degenerates on a NEET ridden imageboard.
I've got a n3DSXL. According to anons, it's the model that's most likely to be bricked during the downgrading process.
From what I can gather from the threads, if I follow this guide (http://pastebin.com/ZfA8wtA2) using SafeSysUpdater instead of Julian's SysUpdater I'll be more likely to get a successful downgrade.
Then afterwards, if I follow this guide (https://gbatemp.net/threads/tutorial-setting-up-9-0-9-2-n3ds-xl-for-cfw-including-10-3-emunand-coldboot-cia-installer.405589/), ignoring FBI and using NASA instead, I'll get an emuNAND set up.
Is that correct?
So what are good reasons to upgrade EmuNand to 10.3? Just did it because why the fuck not and I wanted it to be done before Nintendo brings out 10.4. Fuck sysupdater, so I just bit the bullet.
So I transformed a CIA when...
Just check the size. Is that normal?
Why am i such a fucking meme but serious guys help question mark ? ?
OK this proves it.
This fucking proves that these threads are inhabitaed by 99 people who say shit who do not even know what the fuck they are talking about, or just straight out idiots asking silly questions, me and that one other anon who actually know shit and are on verge of quitting helping you people out whenever posts like this happen.
Any you like, PSP1000 has worst screen and performs worst thanks it only having half the RAM, some homebrew actually have been written to use the full memory layout of PSP2000 or 3000. I have a 1000 and 2000 myself, because I got them for free. Miss my 3000
Yes, it's normal. .3ds games are encrypted in such a way that they keep the size of the actual memory of the cartridge (which is always a multiple of 2 and because 2GB wasn't enough, they opted for 4GB in this case), .cia games only use their actual size.
I haven't done any hacking/homebrew stuff like ever.
Is it possible to do all of that on 3ds while still being able to have online functionality in games/without losing that?
I have two 3ds's, so i'm considering turning one of them basically into a GBA/DS machine, but if I can still use online and everything I might do it on my main one too.
Alright, who do I listen to
No that can be normal, 3DS roms contain lots of padding, because the cards are either 128MB 256MB 512MB 1GB 2GB or 4GB. Lets say your game is 2.5GB you need to have a 4GB gamecard, and it will be padded with empty data. If you convert it to cia, the extra padding gets removed.
>still saying that the Rei and CakesFW 10.3 New 3DS emuNAND is experimental
One job. One fucking job.
...on an unrelated note, does anyone have a working batch of SDK tools? I have SDF installed from a separate download, but I can't get Config or DevMenu installed from the torrent I found.
Are there specific versions that you have to install for each app?
Your .cia it's fine, anon. Try to install it.
i'm autistic but i'm clean shaven and have a decent kept haircut and i live upstairs at my parents' house and i also have a job and am getting a master's degree THANK YOU
desu sometimes you need 2d when the 3d world is cruel to you...
It apparently wasn't region-free as it now works after installing bootNTR.
The game is Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate EUR and it asked me if I wanted to update. Is that safe? I'm in the USA btw.
Let me be the autist nerd who enlightens you:
For some reason Nintendo dumping scene just wants always full 1:1 image of the ROM/Disc so they dump 4gig rom into 4gig file, 4 gig Wii disc into 4 gig image, 25 gig Wii U games into 25gig image etc.
Basically no matter how big the game itself inside is. So a game that is 590 megs REQUIRES a 1gig ROM since that is how the increments work with ROM distribution. So the scene dumps that 590meg game as 1gig rom. This has been around since NES days and it is really fucking sad to download 800meg rar pack, with a 25gig WUD image, which I extract into 800 megs of RAW files, I do not fucking GET nintendo scene. I once saw a release get nuked because it was accidentally trimmed (the zeroes wiped from rom file).
Used to be there was trimming of GBA and NDS roms to save space by just wiping the zero space out of the file itself I still do not get why this is a practice and it really is only with Nintendo.
Download it, install the newest booter within Cake's or RXtools, done.
The fuck. All PSP' are CFW'd and all of them run GBA emulator?
Download MiniPasta instead. https://gbatemp.net/attachments/minipasta-zip.28168/
Boot that from the homebrew launcher in SysNAND. If you're autobooting, hold select to pop up the boot manager menu.
rxTools isn't recommended for GBA stuff because reasons, though it'll work fine if you're on an O3DS. I'm writing a longer guide that hopefully covers everything related to GBA, I'll try to post it in a few hours or something.
Really? iirc my old PSP 3004 couldn't run permanent cfw.
Having to run chickhen every fucking time i reboot was annoying, a permanent CFW is way more comfy.
But yeah any psp will do for gba emulation.
bad choice, desu. Those are literally the only two that are difficult/ don't really work ootb.
Installing GBA games requires you to have linked nands, which decreases a lot of the safety in using a CFW. Additionally you have to fuck with injecting roms over the nintendo provided ones, transferring saves is a major hassle, sleep mode doesn't work.
On n3ds emulation is pretty good though.
For DS literally your only option is to buy a DS flashcart. I recommend getting one that's 3DS compatible so you don't have to fuck with removing the whitelist and shit. also the mismatched resolution is not great, you have the choice between blurry fullscreen scaling or integer scaling that only utilizes <50% of the screen space.
A DS lite + slot 1 and 2 flashcarts is a much nicer experience.
If you're not short on cash, just get an AGS-101 and an EZ_Flash IV
Why would you need either when it is impossible to brick any PSP with PRO CFW since it works like N3SD firmware; the console coldboots into official state with PRO.
Are you living in a barrel under a rock with your PSP1000? Not judging.
>Having to run chickhen every fucking time i reboot was annoying, a permanent CFW is way more comfy.
You are saying this in thread that is currently 99% about 3DS hacking, really now? Fucking deal with it it is not like you are actually coldbooting your PSP much at all as long as you are ACTUALLY USING it.
"Oh no, once in the fullmoon when I let my battery actually run completely dry I had to go charge it, and then also because of it, run one app that took 1 second to run, oh fuck how uncomfortable"
Can Anyanon link me to the Jontron theme? It's not on 3dsthem.es.. :< Also found this pic related in the captcha KEK
>Installing GBA games requires you to have linked nands, which decreases a lot of the safety in using a CFW.
False, you can just install GBA games on both nands seperatedly on unlinked nands and GBA games work, with both Cake's and Reinand.
> Additionally you have to fuck with injecting roms over the nintendo provided ones,
Yeah, because nobody is providing links to CIA files of GBA games that are already ready injected with games you'd want.
How much people talk shit that is false in these threads?
Hey, right now I'm working on installing Fire Emblem Fates right now but in order to unlock some important shit I need to download some DLC
It says what I'm installing only works on CFW.
So I assume thats CakeFW and does that mean i need to get spider?
What exactly does this thing modify to let everything work?
Iol nah Im not using FTP for big files.
My plan is copying all content of my sd card now.
Then gonna reformat then inject emunand and recopy on my pc.
I have installed like every game I could want.
I just want it stable.
Stop using inferior products currently; all RXtools should need is you to install patched AGB firm on your Sysnand, though they clearly do not work for me. RXtools also cannot GBA on N3DS no matter what you do so, don't use RXtools on N3DS if you want to GBA game. Or DS game too.
Thank you, I am on an old 3DS, but I'm just trying to follow the existing guide.
Sorry, to have to ask more, but I'm not sure what it is you're telling me to do. I thought Homebrew Launcher was holding L on startup, also, when I did that and went to more and hit minipasta it just put me in sysnand.
My sysnand doesn't have a homebrew launcher, that I know of.
I followed, and completed, the retard guide but I can't install the homebrew launcher app, when I try to use it it failed, though that was in emunand, am I supposed to install it in sysnand, and if so, how? FBI didn't take over the health and safety in sysnand
Currently cakes would be best since it has NTR support.
Unless Rei himself addressed and made a new build I was not made aware of in middle of all these "HOW TO BE SMART" posts I am surrounded with.
No you also need NTR language plugin and set it up for every out of region game you have there is guides in GBAtemp, a little bit of googling never killed anyone.
Hey, I plan on hosting some 3DS homebrew and stuff that I compiled myself, currently doesn't have much, but if theres homebrew or specific versions you guys want, please tell me and I'll add them.
So can anyone help me? I'm at line 205 in the retard guide and I just can't get browserhax to work again. From googling, I see stuff like how internet browser 1.7 and version 9.2 doesn't work together which means I'm stuck.
Yes the problem is basically that DLC loading is broken because the DLC API in 3DS probably relies on also LANG or something of the system. So JPN/US games would fail to load their DLC even if you have it installed because your system is european or something. So there is a LANG plugin for NTR out there that fixes dis shit.
Do link a new build or whatever. I will end up testing it when all this shitposting around me gets too tiresome and I get around just updating my N3DS again. JUST YESTERDAY I got inpatient and went back to 9.5 tumbling there (ended up with softbrick of emunand and had to restore from quite old 9.5 backup) - got to playing my cheat badge aracde, enjoyed TANK in taiko again, and NOW TODAY shit is finally updated I do not even want to kill myself.
If you used the retard guide, do whatever you need to do for your Menuhax to trigger (either holding L or fucking nothing), hold select before the boot manager starts up and pick HomeBrewMenu from the menu instead of rxTools. That should be it.
Run MiniPasta while holding your Menuhax trigger and you should see the boot menu again, pick HomeBrewMenu again, run FBI from there.
Sorry, apparently I went ahead and listened to one of the retard who said it doesn't. Need to go and update my emuNAND again. This time I have fuckload of BADGES 10.3 HERE I COME.
Sure, why the fuck were you doing that in the first place when PRO CFW exists?
You just looked at the crossroads and saw "THIS WAY FOR POTENTIALLY BRICKING THE SHIT OUT OF IT" and was like "awesome here I wanted to go!"
So any reasons why I should update EmuNand to 10.3?
Had installed a EU copy of Smash 3DS. Didn't show up until I booted NTR. I need a little help myself. I installed a custom theme on my EmuNAND, and the BGM seems to override any other them I try and change it to. I've tried deleting the theme that the BGM originated from, but it still plays. Anyone know a fix?
It freezes here, tried twice.
Serious question: Why do you use reinand?
I am considering switching as rxtools is currently only supporting 9.5 on my n3DS, but I've only ever used rxtools on all my *DSes, so I am uncertain about it.
I just summoned the rain gods.
They told me to go fuck myself.
Picking up a well maintained 2004 for 30 bucks tomorrow anyway.
I got RX on my o3ds. I use Reinand cuz it was first to get n3ds 10.3 apparently. I feel like cakes just got dumb ass name desu I dont want it.
Reinand boots fast nearly 90% success with menuhax. I know region free it sucks dick but I got Freemcpatcher w/e and Open ntr SPEEDFLY now works. So gives a fuck.
To top it off reinand has ds and gba emunand support right?
Am I doing something wrong with CHMM2? My theme on my emuNAND doesn't change, and it doesn't appear on my theme list either. And I also checked my sysNAND, and there's no difference there too.
n3DS, BigBlueMenu was updating, for the 10.3 update, on Emunand.
Installation finished normally, since it finished i go back to the home menu and turn off the system.
Later i turn it on...or i would have, but the 3DS doesn't turn on. The battery LED does, but the screens don't.
What the fuck did i do wrong and is there a way to resolve it? Please help
fuckers really need to google but i got you on this one
CHMM Sucks cock
Tell me anons, what are some good MenuHax bootup screens? pic related
Hey, since you can build .cia homebrew files, could I ask you a favour? I'd like to test the latest version of FBI, which supposedly has faster installation times. I hope I'm not bothering you with this request. I'd do it myself, but I'd have to set up everything again and then I'd still need to compile makerom to work with my machine, I guess.
>n3DS, BigBlueMenu was updating, for the 10.3 update, on Emunand.
I'm confused, you were updating your firmware? If so:
1) Did you make a backup?
2) Does your CFW support 10.3?
2a) Do you have the right firmware.bin for your CFW?
Just package it as a cia and install it with BBM.
It's damn near impossible to hard brick, so don't sweat it. Worst case scenario you boot into recovery mode (Hold L+R+Up+A during boot) and give it another try. Other than that, yes, go ahead and go hog wild.
If you restore the emuNAND.bin, you'll replace your emuNAND, and it will not be a problem at all even if you broke it (you can make a new emunand as long as your sysNAND is on 9.2)
Sorry if that's not what you mean, not sure if I've understood you :(
They're only faster if you're doing network installs via SocketPunch or similar, but yeah, I posted it a few days back. SD to SD isn't any faster currently. https://a.pomf.cat/qbivci.zip
Is there a guide to updating to 10.3 on emuNAND or some shit like that? Downloaded 10.3 .cia pack and tried using sysUpdater to install it, but when I went to check after the newest Cakes build failed to load, emuNAND was still on 9.2
