Do Defense and Magick Defense influence anything at all besides the damage taken from their respective sources?
I don't quite understand why, if that's the case, it's recommended for casters to focus on Magick Defense when they're usually hit both by physical ranged and magick attacks, wouldn't it make more sense to try to balance the two?
Also, in the wiki page for Mystic Knight they mention iron is avoided like the plague in their armor, because it fucks with magick.
Is this fluff or does it actually affect gameplay? Should I "avoid it like the plague" or just wear the best shit I find?
i thought this boss was supposed to be hard
Magick Archer is super fun, I'm loving the anime dagger skills and the bullet hell arrows, but am I gimping my stats by switching to it this early?
Should I be a Sorcerer for a while instead?
>it's recommended for casters to focus on Magick Defense
Just because their stats lean that way doesn't mean you have to focus on it.
I always take gear with the best physical defense stat on my mages. IMO physical defense is more important than magic defense for everyone. Not only is magic damage relatively rare, but the dangerous magic users tend to beof the "get hit and you're fucked" kind, so a bit more magic defense isn't going to help.
>pilfering random pawns on the road
>mfw kept ambrosial meat out the ass
every time at Greatwall
>"If you would face me, seek me out and I shall allow it. But heed the zealot's lesson well- when the weak court death, they find it."
hnnng, 10/10 Grigori best red dragon ever.
You can cheese Grigori really easy with that kind of shit, but if you're like me and go with melee + three melee pawns then you're going to have a jolly fucking time.
Magic archer is literally ez modo the game anyway.
I'd go Sorcerer until you hit rank 9 and get the really useful augments.
I did that myself and liked the class so much I just stuck with it. Probably a pain in the ass if your companion isn't a melee class though.
Point one, if you are a caster, you'll be in the back more, so casters (wyrms are a prime example) will keep tossing quick cast spells like levin at you so you can't channel your spells. Besides that, use whatever has the best stats.
And the iron bit is lore. We all know that the immortals set is the best MK armor in the game, as it's sturdy and looks balla as fuck, with the added bonus of health regen.
Are you fucking retarded?
If you're not gonna pay attention to the shit the game tells you in your first half hour, at least have the decency of googling it before asking dumb shit.
>hey what's this?
>there's some equipment in my storage
>wow, it's stronger than everything else I own!
>better fully equip myself and my pawns with it!
I'm fucking sick and tired of seeing that princess dress on every fucking female pawn.
Now you're just telling him to go with the worst class.
It's also incredibly fun to play as in BBI. If you are going to make multiple saves using the steam family share, then stay BBI and rape everything, gather up the cursed items and crafting drops to send over to your new accounts.
Just make sure that you have enough stamina. Popping out tons of six/ninefold bolts in BBI, its real easy to lose track of your stamina.
On my 360 save, I had to carry 40 large mushrooms for every run into BBI, as I'd burn through stamina like crazy.
Met my first hacked pawn last night, chilling in the pawn guild post game. Level 50 warrior, cursed kings belt, dragonwing circlet, and a few pieces of hellfire. Saw the circlet first, so checked him out.
Everything gold forged, 5.5k health. Wish I took a picture.
>finally found a build that will give me balanced stats and EXACTLY 4000 hp at max level
WHO AUTISM HERE
Are pawn rewards fixed yet?
Seeing how my pawn performed at the end of a questline or pilgrimmage is a huge part of what keeps me going in DD, without it I can't play for extended periods
Stop being retarded. Do you expect them to work weekends? They won't start fixing this shit or maybe even noticing this shit until monday. Stop being so fucking entitled and go fuck yourself.
>Do you expect them to work weekends?
YES how fucking old are you?
If the game is broken they should fix it no matter the fucking day of the week. This isn't the 1950's, the vast majority of games that break get fixed no matter the date
resposting:I had some pawn with me for 10 level now doing fuck all quests.
We were fighting some saurians and those motherukcers went into water, pawn followed and died by that shitty deep water monster.
Did that guy lose alot of potential RC and knowledge now? Or is it just no items/rating, which is bugged anyway for now.
That really sucks, I kept him this long on purpose so that guy receives a huge ton of a reward cause his pawns had pretty good training.
I did the same, but it's not so much fashion as it is to maintain challenge. Wearing almost no armor so enemies deal high damage on me, while i also deal high damage on them.
>People complaining about missing side quests
Do people actually play games like this?
Do people barrel down the main plot path without exhausting every possible side option first?
A guy I was talking to earlier literally never went back to Cassardis after getting Rook, and now is complaining about shit he missed
Of course it should be fixed. But it's fucking sunday. Why do you expect them to work during weekends? The office is closed so even if a few programmers want to fix it, there's nothing they can do.
How fucking new are you if you actually expect developers to do that?
I was told there were memes in this game, but I have yet to find any. Where the fuck are they? How the fuck long do I need to keep playing to see them?
For what, though?
The only reason to continue playing past your first playthrough is if you wish to check NG+ and maybe do stuff that you might have missed, or to train your pawn to be the ultimate pawn helping out other Arisen in BBI
Is there anything past NG+?
>If you are going to make multiple saves using the steam family share,
have you tried that? does it actually work?
once sending gifts is fixed ofc, but did you manage to hire your own pawn with a 2nd account?
Hi, I work in IT for a large company.
There is always IT staff working. They may not be experienced enough or have the right priveleges to fix the issue, but they know about it and have begun triage. Engineers work salary, not hourly, and can and will work on weekends.
>How fucking new
what the fuck are you even saying, speak english.
>you actually expect developers to do that?
the vast majority of developers do, especially when a game has a broken online feature. How many games do you play? Why are you so retarded?
>get witchwood quest
>go along the path but these bandits are way too strong, I need to come back later
>do hydra escort quest, nice easy goblins and harpies
>witchwood quest failed!
Edit this config file, change the NONE in this line to whatever you want (I use MSAA4X), turn FXAA off In-Game.
>The office is closed
>on release weekend
Do you work for Capcom or are you just a underaged b&
>tfw realising I forgot to put a portcrystal near Hillfigure Knoll to ease the journey
>Actually save her
Well I should have heed your tip.
>gotta buy games
thank goodness i have like 8 steam accounts already
because sorc hits their milestones early
they get gicel pretty early on which curbstomps that drake. strider picks up post-game.
I still have a few old accounts from during the Steam 2011 wintersale free gifts fuckup. Never touched them since.
Any idea if those don't have the restriction because they were created before they implemented them?
Strider gets almost no stat gains after level 10
Your phys attack is shit but sorc levels have been helping your mag attack
Also you probably were slashing at its legs instead of climbing it
Level 50, played up through 50 as a strider for the balanced stats and Dat Stamina. Guard farmed the augments that I needed last night, and bought the bbi level 1 spellbow from the merchant in the everfall. Time for BBI.
>Go in, start to kill goblins
>Screen goes black
>Aw yeah, time to really test this shit out
>1 Garm spawns
>A few explosive rivets
>End up just climbing on the shoulder and shanking it
Forgot how much defenses those fucks have. Wondering if I should even go and fight the condemned gorecyclops or ignore that area. Did the run at level 7 for the void key so I could get the moonbeam gem door opened for the ring of perseverance.
>There's a quest for killing a Gryffin at Hillside Knoll
>Stay there a whole ingame day and night killing Harpies and Wolves
Really? i recall when i actually save her she slips me a spooky key or opened the cell or something.
No idea, maybe try logging in and seeing if you can game share off of your main account. May need a valid email so you can verify through steam guard (family share restriction, all accounts tied to your main have to have steam guard protection).

Maybe if the minimap wasn't such a piece of shit god how can you people play this fucking console trash always people consolefags going on and not stopping to keep going but don't stop until it's Jesus you people just don't why do I even holy shit what in the fuck.
Please rate my pawnfu.
Tried to make her look uncomfortable and awkward.
>Do the Escort Duty where I have to roam about with Fournival's loli
>Play her hide and seek game
>She doesn't move afterward
>Think she's probably stuck for some reasons or fuckabout
>Try to carry her to see if she'll get unstuck
>Get thrown in jail
>Can't seem to restart the quest
Did I fucked up bad?
To be fair, you never really have a reason to go back there. After you've grabbed your pawn and killed the hydra, the game pushes you to gran soren without any incentive what so ever to check out Cassardis ever again.
>Travel around with a pawn since level 8
>Level 15 now and he's lagging behind
>Don't want to get rid of him because now I'm attached
>Can't hold on to him forever because he'll just drag me down
>A good looking Casca is right there, asking to be recruited
Is this what being a parent feels like? Please send help.
>game ready for release a week early
PC port has been almost ready for release for years. They had an internal PC version going around the office for years that they just didn't know when to release for most profit.
>Being this fucking bad at videogames that he has to cheat to win an escort quest with no combat.
yes I had the entire map explored, all nooks & crannies
you only unlock the icon if you step within a meter of the store or something
I always just ran straight to the inn or the alehouse, which is too far away from the arms store
I don't think parenting works like that, anon.
>Kick the shit out of the ur-dragon as an assassin
>get the mage staff
>pawn is a sorcerer
Am I fucked or can I just rest again and he'll come back?
NOW ILL HAVE TO TRAVEL FOR 1 HOUR TO REACH THE GODDAMN GRYFFIN AGAIN
>picked up two escort quests accidentally over the course of my play-through by quest board spamming
>failed both by simply not doing them while I had them, not sure if the persons I was escorting died or not
How much RC should I give myself to make up for the pawn bug
Add the pawn to your favorites. Hired a mage pawn at like level 9, and favorited her. Every time I look the pawn up, the other arisen has been leveling almost the same speed as me, so the pawn, now a sorc, is always ready to go.
It was refreshing finding a competent sorc pawn so early in the game.
How complex is the pawn AI and the way it learns?
For instance, if I play as strider and use bows for flying enemies, daggers once they've landed, is my pawn going to copy that behavior for flying / grounded enemies?
>the only medallion left is on it's foot
I KNEW I should've knocked it down first. Balls.
Hey can anyone help me?
I'm doing the quest "Land of Opportunity". I've talked to Sara and caught the kid, and now a day has passed and Sara has been all like "Yeah I'll do whatever".
The thing is, I can't find Jasper anywhere. There's no quest marker, and no sight of anyone called Jasper (I've talked to a lot of people).
Anyone got any help on this?
This seems placebo, or at least not working for me.
If you don't mind dying a few times, do the run in BBI to get the void key, then go to the first safehouse and grab the moonbeam gem there, open the moonbeam door to get the ring of perseverance. Did that before level 10, I think I maxed my vocation when my pawn was at vocation level 5 or 6, and maxed my second before my pawn maxed theirs. When I did the guard farming at level 45, I had about 110k DP, and that's after buying the skills and augments in my leveling vocations.
If you have the cash, you can rush straight through the first room in BBI after you kill the hydra, and meet this dashing motherfucker. He'll sell early game equipment for all vocations, including advanced and hybrid.
> Wake up
> It's snowing
> On the one day I wanted to go out and do stuff
I'm starting to doubt Capcom will fix the pawns.
>spend like 30 minutes on launching my man-servant into the air
>do the same with a cyclops for good measure
>find more harpies
>he still doesn't do it
Learning pawns my ass.
Go to the rift, look at pawns you hired before, there's a chance he might be higher level now if the owner played too
He means the starter hydra main story quest where you only need to slice a head
You can easily run through the first BBI rooms to get to that guy
And further, once you reach Gran Soren, do what I do. Do the everfall quest, pick up the port crystal. Run to Hillfigure Knoll, drop it, and grab the second one there. Go back to GS and rest, then run to the greatwall encampment, drop the second portcrystal there. The merchant there sells equipment a couple game stages ahead of the rest of the mainland. So, if you just got to GS, Caxton would have like 2 or 3 of everything, the merchant at the greatwall would be selling 2 item upgrades above that.
I don't give a shit about the fps or letterboxing, or even the graphical quality in general, which is why it's a big enough deal for that pic to make me want to say something that I said something.
I'd love to buy the PC version just to support the game, but my toaster can't even run Baldur's Gate.
Nope, the servers can detect hacked pawns. If they do, they prevent other players from hiring the pawns.
On console I'm pretty sure Capcom also use to remove hacked pawns from the server permanently.
>Charge Arc of Deliverance
>Forgot it has fucking shockwaves
I only have time for 1 playthrough which class is going to give me the best DD experience?
And should I bother playing on hardmode? Or is it just artificial difficulty that I will have to cheese in order to succeed?
>Find a lone dwarf pawn drifting amidst the sea of lolis
>Good name, good skills, good inclinations
>Hire and favorite that shit
>Leave the rift
>I'd love to buy the PC version just to support the game, but my toaster can't even run Baldur's Gate.
there's no fucking way that's true
I refuse to believe anyone is using a pc in this day & age that can't run baldurs gate
once you go to BBI how do you get back?
I've been told its a post game area but I'm also seeing in this thread that there are helpful items there that you could use pre-post game
I played the original Dragons dogma and not dark arisen
Failed the quest where Mason asks you to tail the suspicious guy from the castle.
How fucked am I?
>Threw a fellow anon loli through an small crevice to pick up some stuff.
It's good to be back.
Hard mode is harder, but it lets you circumvent some potential grind thanks to LODS OF EMONE and XP. So if you can git gud then it's definitely worth it.
Enemy HP is the same, they just hit for a shitton more so avoid taking damage.
I wanna be a Mystic Knight mainly focusing on magic use guise.
What should I level?
>cracked so no online pawns
>well atleast 90% of the pawns won't be female now
>90% of capcom's pawns are female
I'm doing the No Honor Among Thieves quest, and when I try and go talk with pike he runs away then disappears when he goes below the bridge, has that happened to anyone else? I looked at the wiki, but it doesn't mention anything like that, am I just fucked, do I have to do the other way to finish the quest?
Believe it m80. This thing can barely fucking run YouTube videos. I got refurbished from Staples for 100$ some seven years ago. I keep the case open with a floor fan blowing on it just to keep it going.
I don't think enemy knowledge is the issue. Basically, I want my pawn to use launchboard when we fight certain enemies (flying shit, maybe large monsters), how would I go about that?
>Don't pay attention to the rock formation
>mfw golem outta fucking nowhere
>mfw running around as golem laser scorches my fucking heels
>mfw defeating it mid attempt to fuck my face
>mfw that entire fight
>mfw it's only a lowly golem fight and I'm only lvl 23 or something
I'm in love with this game.
>tfw it was aslam started blushing and I had no idea why
>mfw the end game
>how would I go about that?
I reckon that'd be under Help!, but I have no idea; never bothered because it's so easy to shoot flying shit down.
I was offered a 350$ piece of shit for Christmas, but I turned it down because I figure I still couldn't play Wasteland, XCom, or DD on it, and it's Win10 which I hear is packaged with all sorts of spyware-y shit on it.
any explanation why DD never popular on hentai artist despite sex slavery mechanic?
Even if you aren't working, please save up autismbux. That's a shame.
MK abilities scale harder with Magic than Strength.
I would like to make a good old sword n' board character with no magic fuckery.
Is it viable to stay a fighter throughout the whole game?
Since it's a basic vocation and not one of the advanced ones I'm afraid I'll be weak
I want to level Mystic Knight and Warrior a little bit for some augments, but I would mainly play a fighter.
MK Cannon damage is 60% magic/40% strength
Also more magic means easy killing of 95% of enemies that aren't at least midboss tier just by spamming holy focused bolts from a staff
You really only need holy focused bolts to level as a sorc if you just plan to get it to 9 then go MK.
"Basic" just means it's one of the three classes you can choose from at the beginning, it doesn't mean it's weaker than any of the others. Fighter in particular gets one of the most overpowered skills in the game, and I'd argue that Strider is the funnest class hands down.
So I assume different kinds of idols will get me different kinds of armor from this shop? I gave him the bronze idol you get near the Dragonforged but I later got a silver one from a quest and he won't say anything about it.
Do I need to wait till new game+?
Somebody please post the image showing DD's gameplay to Skyrim/Dark Souls.
So benefits aside, Is Fournival actually guilty or not? The priest and the duke's spy guy are willing to vouch for his innocence and the only people condemning him are the butthurt poorfags.
fighter and warrior can both enjoy playing their respective vocations start to finish
the stat growths are so similar that you can enjoy dipping into each other's vocations for augments guilt free
>unfuck the postgame sky
>weird lighting artifacts everywhere
>random shit is fullbright
>skybox ugly as fuck
not sure if its worth it tbqh
might be because i dont have AA on which seems to cause glitches
>mfw rank 7 ranger
I'm so disappointed
Everything except that move where I shoot 11 arrows sideways and 10 arrows in succession sucks
>press any button
>left mouse click
Thanks, I'll go on being a trusty knight then
I assumed advanced just meant better since the image with all the vocations makes them look like an upgrade at first glance, it's nice to hear I can become the arisen I was meant to be
It's good to hear that I was mistaken and I'm not forced into two handed or magic memery if I don't want to go that route
this stock image knight looks pretty neat to be honest
there's a set of stock images with three of them and they do look rather nice, one of them has a helmet with giant wings
I do that on purpose with b8 meat
Why would you bother meleeing a lot as MK
I mean unless that's what you want for your playstyle at least
Going with staff for holy focused bolts against most trash and switching to sword for cannons against bosses or sigils in cramped space is pretty great
omg, i can roleplay myself to actually be a transexual arisen gradually changing sex throughout the game and then finally being a woman after he achieves the biggest feat of beating the dragon. thank you for your replies :)
>fall off cliff
>the cyclops falls over as well
Also mage/sorcerer is pretty fun, never tried it before
The only way of currently knowing if your pawn has been hired is checking if he has knowledge against unknown foes
Also, how does damage work on weapons with split magic/strength stats? Are they better than outright pure physical for melee classes?
Yes. There is a pair of spectacles that cost 2000 Rift Crystals.
Make it so you can activate all skills with buttons combinations, even those not equipped, and those of a different class.
Having fun simply roaming around and killing things. Gear is starting to lag behind due to not finishing wyrm hunt quests yet, that's next after a break.
Playing a warrior/warrior combo for a bit at the moment.
>Its a cursed dragon
>While fighting corrupted pawns
I finally got her and not shitty Aelinore
The original body maps were really grainy, but the resize filter smooths them out. I wonder if the grain they had did them any good.
>can't get mad RC because pawns are broken
>Make it so you can activate all skills with buttons combinations
The base game already does this. I have no problem using control and alt for my skills.
>even those not equipped
That's not possible, is it?
You aren't notified if your pawn gets hired
You don't receive any gifts/rating
The pawns your main pawn knows list therefore does not show anything
Only knowledge against enemies is currently passed
>The player is his only customer and friend
>Dump him for Japes as soon as you hit the main city
When are those lazy chinks gonna fucking fix this. I feel like its time wasted playing the game now that I'm missing out on all those rift crystals and gifts.
When pawns are fixed and the guts armor gets patched in.
So, never ever.
>do the grimoire quest early on
>give the guy a fake one
>just remembered it existed today when I saw it on my inventory
>I WONDER WHAT THIS DOES
>use it in the middle of the square
>some fire flicks in front of my face
>what? that's it?
>suddenly fucking meteors falling from the sky killing every fucking shopkeeper in sight
>mfw no use struggling
Does this game ever stop being fantastic?
>Is literal invincibility hyper armor whirlwind of staggering death a good skill
Anytips for a clueless newfag thats looking to play with a party of mages only?
Really struggling to get started, even the most basic enemies are proving to be really difficult but playing any other way doesn't interest me.
Is there any way to decrease the chatter of all your pawns? They have a menu setting that sounds like it turns it off completely.
Mainly I just don't want 3 different people shouting at me in a fight.
>pay for lodgings at the Inn instead of resting in your house for free
I'm still trying to make my way to the quest to deliver the hydra head. ..At the first turn, there is wolves, bandits, and pretty much death. Switching classes isn't really an option at the moment.
>want to buy game and have fun
>"pawns are broken"
>"rice munchers will never fix it!"
Whoever you are, I love your pawn.
What are the limits of this?
Is it -any- modification of any kind, or just the level infinity, infinity stats, best gear ion the game pawns that get fucked?
Am I fine if I just add some dcp to my pawn, just to get the augments I need without having to grind for them?
>That's not possible, is it?
Some guy yesterday said he just needed the memory address of the first skill and then he could probably do it. cheat engine crashed for him when he tried to find it. But who knows.
Also i'm not saying i'm having trouble using the ctrl and alt keys. I'm saying I want a bigger moveset with more skill buttons/combinations
>decide to uninstall the leak and buy the game
>after a full day of downloading with my shitty internet, can finally play
>after the tutorial dungeon/chimera fight the game goes into an endless loading screen
>tried a bunch of different things, I've done the tutorial 10 times now, always happens
>no guides for fixing it anywhere
>at most it's acknowledged with people saying "wait for capcom to patch it" several days ago
>wasn't even worth it because pawns are broken
I'm so happy I paid for this experience and got to support such a wonderful developer :^)
Where the fuck is lord julian normally? Ive seen him in the castle quite a few times and now I need him, hes not here
Go to bitterblack or
Rent your pawn HAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
>it goes through a pack of tough bandits
>a million lizardmen
>an armored ogre
>a fucking drake
how are these cunts supposed to survive
Let me specify;
Go back to cassardis, sleep at the inn to night, go to the docks, and talk to the lady to go to Bitterblack isle.
There, find and talk to her again. She can change your vocation.
>Finally find a cool Nordic bro
>Doesn't have any decent skills or augments
Every single time.
Then I'm boned, my Pawn is visually uninteresting
So I'm having a problem as a warrior. I'm at level 23 and I want the gryphic victory sword since it's supposed to be pretty fucking good early game. Problem is that I can't seem to find the quest. I'm supposed to get it from the notice board at the inn in Gran Soren right? Only escort quests I can find are Mercedes, Reynard and Barnaby. I haven't advanced that far into the main quest, I have just explored the dungeon beneath the pawn guild with the tentacles and I have yet to talk with the wyrm hunter guy. Is it bugged or do I have to advance in the game before it becomes available?
'tis effective to knock them back
realistically that quest is not bad if you have two bows, a mage, and a fighter in some combination
Mage can heal the cart if you're having problems there.
Run ahead of the thing and clear the path.
FINALLY GOT YOU, FAGGOT GRYFFIN, YOU'RE GONNA PAY FOR MAKING ME WALK ALL THAT FUCKING WAY
>still no information on this from Capcom
Can we, like, bomb their twitter or whatever?
How do we know that they acknowledge this problem?
Wait for ricerinos to fix pawn hiring rewards.
You just have to raise his affinity for it to show up.
Go back to the Encampment with some Foreign Knives and give them to Ser Berne. There's a couple other things you could give him, but the knives yield the best affinity gain.
>Make it so you can activate all skills with buttons combinations, even those not equipped, and those of a different class.
I have that, I'm that guy from yesterday if youre that mechanics guy.
Do you want some AHK scripts?
which of the many capcom twitter account do U tweet. I'm fed up of waiting
it's all over steam and they don;t seem to man them
