So there's basically not evr going to be a point in upgrading again, right? You can get whatever past and future 3DS title you want (so long as someone uploads them), you can download the patches for games to play them online, and then you can install custom themes and download games from the eshop.

I am in the same boat as that anon with chmm2 shit i even installed the dcp needed from the homebrew then installed the cia and all but when i select and install a theme, according to the cia, everything is fine but when i get back to the emunand nothing was installed at all but if i go to sysnand sometimes i end up seeing it changed.

Find Bootntr.cia and find the language plugin folder for it its somewhere on gbatemp. cant find it right now. get the latest 3.2 version.
Put the plugin folder on the root of the sdcard and put the language folders in there.

Basically SysNand and EmuNand are different. Sysnand is the firmware that comes stock on 3ds while EmuNand is the copy of it.
Whatever happens on the copy doesnt happen on the original.
The original can stay and 9.2 while the copy can be on 10.3 firmware capable of online play and other things.

Yeah, it's not necessarily for pirating, CFW allows that. When you're running your EmuNAND, you can update it because the exploits that allow for piracy, etc, are still present on your SysNAND. This means you get piracy and all that jazz + the latest features from the recent FW + the ability to play games online/play newer games, which often require more recent firmwares. That's the benefit of an updated EmuNAND.

OR and Rising Ruby (RR) both share the same title ID so you can't have both installed as CIAs at the same time, which shouldn't be a big deal because what's the point? If you do want them both though, install OR, then use Rising Ruby as a ROMFS patch rather than a CIA. You'll have to swap the save files whenever you want to switch to the unpatched version, but that takes like 4 minutes. Alternatively, use Alpha Sapphire as your unpatched game, and install Rising Ruby as your romhack game. For all the prepatched CIAs, look on 3dsiso, also some guy linked them last thread.

Not sure. ELF files compile to CIA/3DS files as far as I know, but I don't think the raw ELF files actually do anything (though I could be wrong). You're looking for EmuNAND.bin, NAND.bin should be the backup of your SysNAND. You can also restore that if you want, though if it was made after unlinking your NANDs, you'll have to unlink them again. Alternatively, try using a partition viewer program to see if the EmuNAND partition is still there and back it up. That may not work if it's truly fucked though.

You can, but you need manually installed firmware-spoofed and cryptofixed updates for most games. Speaking as someone who dealt with that shit, it's kind of a hassle and it's just easier to be on the latest FW where you can just update the games like normal. You also don't need a flash cart to get into this stuff. Read up on a few guides and you'll be fine.

make a folder with that title id

drop that folder into plugin on the root of the sd card

In your plugin folder there should be random numbers. Those are game IDs. search up your game ID on the 3dsDB or something like that.
if you dont have the ID in your folder then make one thats the title of the ID.
and then put the language the game is in there. so jp for jp eu for eu ect.

It works with most and is a homebrew .3dsx so you don't have to install a .cia to use it. Savedatafiler works with more games, yeah, but it's weirdly complicated to use at first glance and requires installation as a .cia.

I solved this yesterday
You backup the nintendo 3ds folder
And the emunand using emunandtool (important)
Then you go to systemstettings while on emunand and do a systemformat
Then you set it up and go to systemstettings
then you go to nintendo network
Then you logg into your account
Then you turn the 3ds off
Then you restore the old emunand
And the folder


This works because disconnencting nands through formatting sysnand tells nintendo the nnid is no longer in use
The emunand tries to access nintendonetwork through a system which it got a message from telling it its invalid
Which results in an error code
When you log into your nnid from a 3ds on 10.3 it registers it as being connected again and will work even if you restore your emunand

If the screen immediately turns black with a little red line on the bottom left of the top screen after you press Y to downgrade, just shut down the 3DS and try again until it works. Apparently some of the games got fixes that won't be patched into the eshop versions (the most notable one is that Space Harrier got the enemy sprites redone entirely so they work better with the 3D) due to save incompatibility or something, which is kinda lame. Most people probably wouldn't mind losing their system data to have the actual definitive release, but oh well.
