Huh, okay yeah actually I backed up my NAND.bin a long time ago. And deleted off my original SD.

Navigated to where I backed it up to on my PC using emuNAND and I tried to extract it, but really not sure what I'm doing.

When I tried to inject it to the new SD card, it says it hasn't yet been formatted or something.

I just downgraded to 9.2, is it still safe to upgrade my emuNAND to the latest official version through the system settings? I'm a little cautious.

Decrypt9 (and EmuNAND9) will work for both NANDs if booted from SysNAND, and have to be booted from SysNAND. They're not regular user-mode software.

Decrypt9 needs to be run from HBL through Brahma which is a 3DSX file. From what I understand, it reads and loads ARM9 payloads such as Decrypt9, giving them elevation so they can perform commands with higher privileges.

mgba currently has no dynamic recompilation and is focused on accuracy above performance. It's basically bsnes/higan GBA edition. The fact that it even runs somewhat acceptably on N3DS is astounding.

You really want to be using the RetroArch gpSP core, or ideally you want to use GBA VC injection.

My friend is trying to downgrade and came to me with a problem

You can get new control stick assemblies for like <$10 on ebay. If it's the D-pad you're probably shit out of luck cause I'm guessing it's a part of the motherboard. C-stick nub is hardly used by any games since the o3ds doesn't have it.

I installed Rhythm Heaven (Japanese cia) on my US emuNAND, played it and it works fine, but it keeps disappearing from the home screen. Like just now I opened and closed the friend list, and it was gone. Restarting will usually bring it back (as a present again). NANDs are unlinked, since I formatted the sysNAND (which I just did again to be sure). How do I stop this shit?

It gets so much better. I've played Drayano's Volt Black/Storm Silver hacks and on both the difficulty kinda petered out when you got to the 6th gym or so, but this particular hack is insanely good. It gets even harder as you go in a way that will make you go "oh fuck" but will make you want more. Peronsally I found Darmanitan to be the hardest one on Flannery's team just 'cause it outsped practically everything I had. I don't think you can progress far in this game without EV training and full IVs/good natures. I just used PCHeX to max out the EVs/IVs of my Pokemon and give them the right natures because I didn't want to spend 8 hours super training.

NeoXY isnt bad, the story is full 2edgy but I just applied all the patches aside from the new story and it was fine. Drayano also released Rising Ruby/Sinking Sapphire which are similar to his Volt Black/Storm Silver series. They have some upped difficulty but nowhere near Rutile Ruby/Star Sapphire. What more do you want from romhacks anyway? There's no 3DS romhacks in the sense that there are GBA romhacks, we're not that far along in technology yet.

But no I just horde trained, the hack makes it very easy to do it early on.
Power Items for EV training are available as 50% chance hold items for early mons, and early routes each have a 100% Horde encounter specifically designed to EV train. It couldn't be easier, really.
With natures I got really lucky, my first wild Axew was Adamant, and I got a Mild Ralts with Confuse Ray on the DexNav.

Although my Attack horde encounter seems to be missing, not sure if it's a patching error or a bug, but either way I only super trained for Attack, didn't take too long on my two sweepers, the rest was all painless horde training with Sweet Scent (you can even buy Honey for $50 a pop later on)

Really good hack indeed, I love how it makes all this cool shit like EV training and competitive items more accessible early on, just to make sure you have all the tools to overcome the difficulty.

That's true, there's no excuse since it does make it easy, I still couldn't be bothered though and just wanted to get on with the game itself. The fact that they make Sacred Ash and all the competitive items easily available is so good, and the lower pricing of things like Ultra Balls is a great choice too, makes it easy to get the Pokemon you want.

Just hold L+R+Up+A as you're turning it on (I just hit the power button with my chin to be sure). It should start up and ask you to update. Perform the update and try again. If you softbrick again, update and backup your files, then format via System Settings.

I softbricked 7 times before I gave up on keeping my data and just formatted. 3 tries of getting sysUpdater to function later, I was downgraded.

Doesn't seem to matter if the game was opened or not, it disappears after visting the friend list or other side-running app until I restart.

I also opened the game, then opened the friend list while the game was still open, and it froze while going back to the home menu.

You should be able to install and use both FBI.3dsx and FBI.3dsx if you're in 9.2 pasta SysNAND. Remember that you need to install the patched AGB_FIRM to destination NAND and the games themselves to destination SD.

If you use TinyFormat on SysNAND like all of the guides here recommend, you don't have to do anything. You'll have your NNID and games in EmuNAND and won't have anything in SysNAND, which is how it should be.

If you do the full retard "take the SD card out and format via official method" thing then you need to re-link your NNID which is a fucking pain in the ass involving making a second EmuNAND.

Even after all this time there isn't at least a patch for N3DS to give the environments more life. You can assign up to four combos or specials to be used at the press of the touchscreen, but I believe this is filterable online). I played a few matches online and had no problem with latency. You can just use CakeHax to launch tools/CFW through the browser. For the inevitable Menuhax setup, you can just inject FBI to SysNAND, install hblauncher_loader there and do it like that.

Just grab the .dat versions of EmuNAND9, Decrypt9WIP and CakesFW and go to https://dukesrg.github.io/?EmuNAND9.dat https://dukesrg.github.io/?Decrypt9WIP.dat and https://dukesrg.github.io/?Cakes.dat when needed. You can also launch rxTools that way but I can't remember if the 3DS uses forward or backwards slashes.

It's (U) region DSiWare that was given away to DSi and 3DS owners for Zelda's 25th Anniversary. I don't know how well it will work out of region. Unlike my carts which go through the converter (which anons have told me enables Region Free), my eShop content is downloaded with FunkyCIA2 directly from Nintendo, then converted with CTR_Toolkit automatically. Let me know how it goes (you may need the GBA patch and you will probably need to reboot after installing the game)

I'm getting error 022-2634 and I have to system format on emuNAND. The problem is pic related, since I can surely determine what's my sysNAND (the one highlighted), but all those other folders have the same content. So, which one is my current emuNAND? Is it the latest one or other?
Also, I noticed just now that my sysNAND has a lot of stuff, specially in the "title" folder. Does that mean that those are/were my games? Can I restore them to emuNAND or am I fucked and have to download them all over again?

No, it's the same as launching them through the homebrew launcher, just slightly less convenient (but the plus side is that you don't have to do fucking sliderhax ever and you can easily make QR codes on your PC). Just follow any of the regular guides but when they say "launch X via the homebrew launcher", use the web browser instead.

download decrypt9 and put it on your sd card. open up the hd loader using whatever exploit you're comforable using. launch decrypt9 and go in to the emunand options. there should be a option to dump the ticket.db. take the dumped ticket.db and put it on your pc. download funkycia. execute the python script included in the download and point it to the ticket.db. a cia folder should be created with numbered subdirectories corresponding to certain games which could be looked up here (http://www.3dsdb.com/).

Always use Homebrew Launcher from sysNAND to access Uncart and Decrypt9. Ignore the 9.2 warning because I'm on 9.5 and it worked fine.

I will say one thing about the Funky CIA guide, which is just use Decrypt9's Xorpad menu to get your ticket.db, and don't worry about renaming it if your NNID is on emu (so just use ticket_emu.db)

I recently finished downgrading and installing all of the software to install CIA files, but I am not to sure about what I can do and not do yet.

Could I access the Eshop using emuNAND (currently using reNAND 10.3) and update, download, buy etc. from there?

If I've updated emuNAND to 10.3 do I ever have to worry about updated sysNAND if I never actually enter it?

When I convert .3ds files to .cia, do they keep their header? (something I heard gets you banned online)

Chink NTR dev uploaded an updated NTR version to a Chinese BBS, I found it but then someone on gbatemp uploaded it.

This works with N3DS 10.3 emuNAND. Don't need to replace the .bin, just update BootNTR.
