You should, cloneless bnb's literally take like 30 minutes to an hour to get consistent enough to go for, and clone combo's are just realizing what set up you're going for and if you want max damage or a scrub combo. I don't know if a zato player can handle it tho c^;

Well obviously you'd be able to tell with a deliberate test like that. I don't know if you can replicate in-fight motions the same way.

This is what a lot of people were expecting. They went silent after the FANG announcement, and people expected the media blitz to start about a month from launch. Well, we're now a month from launch, so the official news should start coming in.
Really, though, there's not much for them to talk about, is there? Just the single player stuff? Arcade mode, training, tutorials? Makes sense for them to wait if that's all they have left to talk about.
Not sure if this counts as a "leak", but a Capcom UK community manager mentioned that he got to play an early version of Balrog back in December, so it seems likely that he'll be the first DLC character. That could be another piece of news we'll be getting soon. Wouldn't surprise me if the first DLC character is Day1

While not a true "Shoto-clone", Sagat has a reputation as being similar to the Shotos due to his fireball, uppercut, and Tiger Knee that is similar to a Tatsu. Furthermore, his conspicuous absence from the vanilla roster in SF5 prompted Capcom to explain that they didn't want a lot of similar characters in the initial roster, seeming to suggest that even Capcom sees Sagat as a "sort-of" Shoto.
Since SFV appears to be the game where Capcom feels comfortable with going back to the drawing board with certain characters, this would be the perfect opportunity for Sagat to maybe branch out and become a more unique, more "Muay Thai" fighter. The problem with this, of course, is that some of Sagat's move such as his Tiger Shot and Tiger Uppercut have become so iconic and synonymous with his character that I'm not sure you could cut them out without completely changing the character. What do you think? Provided Sagat becomes playable in 5 at some point, what should he be?

Does Faust have the worst frame data in Xrd? Just curious because any character can trade hits with any of his normals for a free counter. All 2D beat his 2HS during any active frame, his fastest normal comes out in 7 frames, everything has an extended hurtbox that's even worst that Dhalsim, etc.

His anti-airs are only good if you have enough tension to at least YRC
And a lot of characters can zone better than he can. Playing against Slayer as Faust is a nightmare because he can just 6P through every single poke for free. If you try to 5S him out of Dandy, he can just throw out Pilebunker and trade.
My biggest problem with Faust is that he relies on a few good normals to help make up for no reversal, no useful wake-up options, a giant hitbox on anything that isn't him crouching, some of the slowest attacks in the game, and not a single good oki move.
He actually loses to every other high tier in the game. They're all super bad match-ups for him. Faust only excels against character who are already rather poor to begin with, so it's not really anything special.

As far as I understand it, Karin prides herself on her strong normals, being able to close the gap in several different ways, and generally excelling as the game's queen of mixups. She is extremely technical - the most technical character in the game, in fact - so she has a lot at her disposal, but it can be initally daunting. Generally, you should play to her strengths and keep the opponents guessing with her mixups on top of any frame traps.

Between her specials, command normals, and her Guren Ken V-Trigger, Karin literally has more moves than everyone else in the game, hence her high technical rating. She is the only character with a rank of 5 (out of 5) in the character chart.

SFV Ken has zero mid range tools. His step kick is garbage, his cr.mk has no range, his fireball is even worse than in IV and his kara throw is gone.

I don't exactly feel SFV from beta 2. I think they are neutering characters down too much and started adding weird balance changes for the entire roster.
Ryu was insanely fun in Beta 1 and they neutered the shit out of him making him really boring. So does the entire roster. I believe Ken got neutered as well in Beta 2.
I really hope the final release build is going to be more interesting than the last beta we played and maybe revert most of these changes back to their beta 1 status, because in the status it is right now I wouldn't buy it honestly.
Beta 1 Ryu had to press 1 button and 1 button only, st.mp, because it was so insanely braindead. Same goes for birdie and his cr.lp, Cammy being able to combo off all her lights like a SF4 char, Nash being able to convert into TCs off any random hit for full damage, Bison being insanely safe on everything and dealing a retarded amount of chip damage, R.Mika and her st.mp link after drop kick plus her cr.hp cross under 50/50 loop, etc.
They neutered characters alright, by making them less braindead.

In a way, I'm glad you can't convert monster combos off jabs in SFV. They really get across that jabs are low-risk/low reward. I remember we were talking earlier about whether Ibuki should be an exception to the rule, since she's famed for her super-quick combos.

In beta 3 with Ryu I was using st.lk, st.mp, cr.mk, st.mk, sweep and b.hk along with fireball in the neutral game

Leo in GG has a fuckton of moves, and he's arguably the most unga-bunga character in the game. If you made a list of technical GG characters, he'd be right down there at the bottom.
The numbers of moves a character has doesn't make them technical. I-No has a rather low amount of commands but was arguably the most technical character in the series up until Xrd made her easier to use.
If Ishiwatari would believe that vortex (lol) and oki are bad things he would remove them himself.
Answering your question - BB style ground tech, but faster and with more i-frames. Would require complete rebalance to implement properly though.

as to balrog they seem to be completely redesigning him, so we will see
I think they changed Charlie to motion so they could keep Guile as a charge.
I think instead of a motion special they'll give Guile more target combos, maybe one that launches to give him more time to charge mid-combo.
Basically, there's a 1f transition between blocking high and low. Say someone blocks your jump-in, when they switch to crouch block (expecting a low) there's a 1f window where they look like they are crouching but still have the standing hurtbox.
This means you can hit them with something that would normally whiff on crouching characters, for Juri this is really beneficial since diagonal j.mp is cancellable into divekick, which you can link into U2.

Also, making link combos easier to perform doesn't mean execution isn't required anymore. There are other parts of learning a character that still require execution.
Been playing it without a circle pad or new 3ds nub, you have to learn to use the L button and really position yourself for proper camera control, the D pad isn't really necessary if you can master it and it becomes much more comfortable
