You’re Never Ever Ever Getting Together Edition
NOTICE: Pawn hiring is still fucked. You don’t gain RC or gifts from others renting your pawn. They do still seem to gain knowledge. This will hopefully be fixed Monday.
>Newfags Read the Following
-- You can change vocations at level 10 at the Gran Soren inn or BBI.
-- Just experiment; a few levels in this and that won’t ruin your goddamn build, you autist.
-- STOP asking “would you rent??” without posting their inclinations/skills. Good-looking pawns with Guardian or Acquisitor still go straight to the trash.
-- Character appearance can be changed later on, with an item bought in the Encampment.
-- Don’t miss your sidequests (http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Side_Quest_Progression)
-- Make sure you understand the romance system before you get too far: (http://dragonsdogma.wikia.com/wiki/Beloved)

I rode the guy and we both fell off the spiral stairs, is this how I was supposed to kill it?
There's more art from this guy?
>You will never live in a quiet fishing village overlooking the sea
>You will never watch the waves as you look out on the ruins of what once was standing from the sea
Why is the starting place the most comfy?
>mfw too busy funposting to play
Daimon, stop it.
Reminder Capcom delayed this game literal weeks for no reason, refused to release it when it leaked, then released it on a Friday with game-breaking bugs thus ensuring the maximum possible delay before these issues get fixed, ruining everyone's first playthrough because they couldn't
a) Use the extra delayed time to test the game
b) Release it earlier to ensure people don't just pirate it
Capcom is a company that's designed to make money, yet all of their decisions are about minimising as much of their income as possible with garbage decisions.
Imported Sliders from PS3 Team.
Also, top or bottom for pawn? I want to put the prettier one out for rental.
>the newfags screaming in despair over getting Japed in the ass will get tiring
noobs getting yurted back in DeS never got old though
>Capcom is a company that's designed to make money, yet all of their decisions are about minimising as much of their income as possible with garbage decisions.
No, that's Konami.
>release it early to ensure people don't pirate
all that would do is show the company bends to whims of leakers
>delayed weeks for no reason
pawn rewards being fucked is a bug but games always have bugs. sounds like you need to relax f a m
What's up with all the build recommendations that don't include the class you want to play?
What's actually left after you hit level cap? surely by then the game's done and there's no reason to actually play magic archer
>start of game
>return to casardis
>escort madeleine to the encampment
>get there, she begs for money
>give her the 1000g
>achievement unlocked: achieve max affinity
Really? Is she that much of a jew that if you give her 1000g that she instantly loves you forever?
>making the descent into Everfall
>troll looking motherfucker charges headlong into my group nearly killing my mage in one hit
>ends up running right of the ledge and taking my other pawn who was clinging to him down for the ride
you will be remembered
Honestly if there are any moonfags in these threads wanna do the translations, I'm happy to do the editing and typesetting.
I do this for Idolshit all the tim
>Reminder Capcom delayed this game literal weeks for no reason
Literal years you mean. In a recent interview, one of the developers said that there was an internal PC version of the game going around the office for years but they just didn't know what would be the best time to release on pc.
>A woman's heart is a fickle thing, you know well how to tame it
>It costs 1000g to send her to GS
>later in the game she wants to go back to Cassardis
>"Can I have 50,000g anon?"
What the hell Maddy? What is so different about the path that you need 50 times more gold just to get back home?
is the floral delivery quest bugged for anyone else?
this is exactly why minmaxing is stupid. there is no reason to build for level 200 because at level 200 you beat everything a long time ago
it's much more important to understand roughly when you'll max vocations and what they unlock. e.g. if you're going to play Sorc and MK, you should play Sorc first because the stats and unlocks will help MK
You'll get more. Just be patient
Just keep an eye out. Midgame starts getting some fashionable shit. And it'll remain viable in the late game so long as you're dilligent about Dragon/Silver/Goldforging it. Alternatively scour the Wiki.
All heals for party. All heals for one person. Great heals for one person. Curatives for poison/tupor/petrification or whatever you're going to fight. If you want to be cheap you can get a punch of empty flasks and just get a bunch of spring water which heals the whole party by default for 500hp per bottle and they'll autospam the moment anyone goes critical
Most of the stuff I've found looks like shit, so I just made my pawn a thigh high slut
>couldn't get my arisen to look the way I wanted
>end up just throwing pieces together on a whim
>ends up even better than what I tried to do in the first place
>first cyclops fight in the encampent drops a misshapen eye
>immediately get to enhance the first magick bow to rank 3 as soon as I get to Gran Soren
You'll find healing springs eventually that heals you completely past the white area by standing in it. If you have an empty flask you can bottle some of it for potions to use and your pawns to auto spam
Can't wait to deck my brown elf slut pawn in the Trophy Jacket
Caxton has some okay stuff. The Devilfire salesmen has stuff for archers. The Quarry salesmen has stuff for fighters and warriors. The Greatwall salesmen has stuff for fighters. Maddy has stuff for Sorcerers and Mages.
I feel like I'm forgetting someone.
You need 5, if I remember correctly, and just talk with her, skip through her repeating dialogue and that window should pop up with just the plants available
Make sure you aren't selecting the Present option
>tfw it's faster to just walk up to stuff and do the 11arrow shotgun move than to use Dire arrow
>tfw Queen's armor got dragonforged at level 30
>40-60% all res
>Trouble getting to Grigs
>Go to BBI instead to build some levels
>Get a weapon level 1, armor level 1, and 4 gear level 1 to drop/out of chests
>Spent my RC on inclination elixers
>No RC from rents
>Even if I get the RC, I haven't beaten Grigs yet, can't godsbane if I don't like the result
Vocations are like rollercoasters.
Initially every vocation is good, when you get to Gran Soren some vocations take a dive, such as Strider and Ranger, while others shine, like Warrior.
After you've done your first Wyrm Hunt you should be feeling more comfortable with your chosen vocation.
>Trying to do Lost and Found
>Dozens of impossibly tough bandits that oneshot my Pawns stand between me and the end quest
>No dodgeroll to evade getting backstabbed while I'm in the middle of a combo
>Quest will disappear if I gear up on the main story and go back
The hell am I supposed to do for this? I'm trying to gitgud, but I can't if my pawns keep dying.
>The idea you should start off with really boring mechanics isn't good game design.
If you're not enjoying the game just quit senpai
It's 2016 there's too many games out there to play one that you're not enjoying
though it sounds like you might be too pretentious to enjoy anything so I suggest you pursue a hobby outside of videogames entirely
are there any volume fixes yet for the PC verison
Everything is at max volume, even my computer settings and the game is still quiet as fuck.
literally any other game, my volume stays at around 40 at its around fucking loud.
How do i know if people are hiring my pawn? I'm not receiving anything, do people just don't give anything back? Help me, i'm fucking lost, i just want my pawn to be useful to others and bring me some loot.
I'm not baiting.
I haven't played all that much because I haven't had the time and I wanted to check out all the classes to some degree. Thought they would give you at least an Idea of what they would be like.
If any of them are meant to be "good" when you're getting into witchwood, then I guess I'll refund this game
Less than level 10. Not really having a problem with them on normal. Hard is NG+, isn't it?
You have 9 vocation ranks, which unlock skills for each weapon, as well as augments and passive weapon traits (combos)
Each weapon has rough 10 unique skills or so, of which you can learn all of them, but use 3 at a time, per weapon
This game's max level is 200, do you honestly think that everything will be straight up available to you before level 10?
This game feels so good on PC and with a DS4. I have been poking around in the game on PS3 for the last 2 weeks before the game came out and it is very noticeably better.
You only have to encounter one pack of bandits which are at the entrance to the area (boulder trap) and even then you can just run past them since there's only one of them that is a threat
Entirely beatable at Lv10 if you understand what you're doing at all though
>tfw game comes out and i have work during the weekend
>everyone elses pawns are slowly getting further ahead of mine
brb killing myself
You're going in the wrong direction. You're not supposed to fight the bandits at level 10. There is one bandit amongst them that is a much higher level.
If you need to go there for a quest then >>128788419
Lost and Found should be the last thing you do before escorting Mercedes and the Hydra's head to Gran Soren.
Rush down the Strider bandits as quickly as you can, they're pretty weak, then cheese the Fighter bandits with whatever you got at a distance if you need to.
>make perfect pawn
>forget to change placeholder name
>You're not supposed to fight the bandits at level 10
This is wrong, if you go to grand soren before doing Lost and Found you miss out on that quest and a whole bunch of others
I pirated the game, and now that the game is out, have bought it. Is there any guide for transferring the save file over?
Well keep doing that and hopefully Utilitarian will show up. Guardian basically serves no purpose and they should be spending some time attacking. "Go!" will encourage more aggression and hopefully also try and get rid of that Guardian shit.
I never complained about the difficulty.
I said it was boring and was asking if the vocations get significantly better after you get skills.
Plus, I know thats bullshit, because its a timed quest that you miss if you do what you say.
What class are you playing?
If you're strider, grab Ensnare. It makes the shield bandits easy, though it's still tough if there are two of them.
Otherwise, just keep rezzing your pawns and wait for one of them to grab and hold the bandit up for you to attack. Do heavy attacks on him.
do it last, if you're a strider there's an ability that'll let you grab and toss them, i think it's called entangle, i forgot since i replaced it.
either way, if you're a strider killing them is piss easy, toss some ropes on them, pull them in, hit the shit out of them while they are down.
or just go at night, that way there'll just be a shit ton of wolves.
There's currently some bug or whatever that prevents people from receiving anything when your pawn gets send back. It's not just you that's not receiving anything, none of us is.
>If any of them are meant to be "good" when you're getting into witchwood, then I guess I'll refund this game
>less than level 10
You haven't even gotten your skills proper.
You probably skipped over a bunch of sidequests, honestly.
That doesn't mean you actually have to fight them. They're not your objective.
>hurr durr if you run past them or wait until it's night then you miss out on a quest except you dont because you dont have to fucking fight them oh god im retarded hurr fucking durr
I tried going down the well, but my attacks do even less damage to lizards than bandits.
Thanks, I'll pick it up next time I can level. I guess I'll rest, then try again at night since that second group of bandits is actually impossible.
>I tried going down the well, but my attacks do even less damage to lizards than bandits.
ATTACK THE TAIL ARISEN
and dont forget to hire 2 more pawns in addition to your personal pawn
seriously don't let a couple early game hurdles ruin the game for you, if you can stagger them they take massive amounts of damage, something that is never explained
Okay, anon. You said I was going in the wrong direction. Thats what I said was wrong, calm your tism.
I've played all three to that point.
They just all seemed fairly button mashy or cheesy, respectively.
If someone says that point in the game is the 'high' point of it I can't imagine how shit the rest of it will be. Would be a shame because this looked quite good. Not saying he's right, I'm asking.
>I tried going down the well, but my attacks do even less damage to lizards than bandits.
Chop off those tails, faggot.
And get a heal loli to give you Fire Boon. Even better if you can oil them up.
That, like lots of things on the Wiki, is fucking wrong. T
Also in regards to scumming for BBI loot, it's far quicker to just go offline, rest at the bench and then select "return to checkpoint", as well as giving you a backup if you make a mistake, Godsbaning is only really for chests.
wait so pawn rewards aren't working?
so when I send someone something they don't actually get it?
how'd crapcom fuck this up? I was wondering why I had no rift crystals
anon dogma is one of those games where you should just leave and come back when you hit a wall instead of just repeatedly smashing your head on the wall and then quiting the game and complaining about it
every one of us on their first playthrough got their shit pushed in by lizards/bandits. just get better gear/levels/skills and make sure you have decent pawns
There's some fundamental part of this game that you're not getting, and I'm legitimately trying to understand what it is.
DD is as far as you can get from button-mashy.
If you mash buttons you'll get killed, unless you're playing Warrior and tanking hits.
>go on a midnight stroll in south gransys
>pawns keep yelling about goblins
>fucking tired of all these goblins
>they stop yelling for a few seconds then start again
>for some reason i cant see any goblins
>weird shit, keep walking anyways, almost at my quest marker
>out of FUCKING NOWHERE A DRAGON MATERIALIZES OUT OF THE DARKNESS
>proceeds to bumrush me and my pawns
>goblins immediately swarm me and my pawns
what the fuck nigga
my daggers are fire enchanted and my pawns keep getting incapacitated
should i run?
Loving the game for the third time.
Fucking capcom should have already said something about the pawns tho
>keep hiring Pirotess because fuckyeah archers
>every time I rehire her to reset her stats, she's wearing new clothes
>eventually find the short shorts in the pawn district
>know that she'd look better with them, but that her look right now is actually very accurate to the series she's from
>anon being so mad about the characters he forgot how to type
Calm down there, buddy
Yeah, I get that anon.
Wasn't expecting to have every trick right out of the gate. I was just wondering if the really early game is at all representative of the playstyle of that vocation later down the line. Thats all.
Just how it felt.
Especially strider. That and kiting people with a bow.
I kind of get why it was now though, if I wasn't meant to be attacking them at this early a point in the game, despite that being some point-and-click adventure game level of "you should know this despite nobody telling you or alluding to it" tier logic
Oh no, don't get me wrong. I'm having a blast! I was just in need of advice. Thanks for the tips, anons! I guess I didn't hear the tail thing, sometimes the pawns are so quiet you can hardly hear them over action sounds.
>try to do a quest outside gran soren at night
>run into a few undead, no problem
>figure nighttime is overrated in it's supposed difficulty
>"Arisen...our mortal foe."
>fifteen black mages materialize and nuke my shit
Guess I'll just stick to daytime then.
Holy shit. What the hell is this? Some sort of golem? My attacks do nothing.
Is this a good base? Should I keep going or did I already fuck up?
Is he ugly? I am not good with this stuff.
>tfw you use pawns that are way underleveled just because you like them better than all the riftsluts
To the guy that put this Dwarfy motherfucker on the pawn list: You're pretty cool.
Fixed, hard mode is perfectly doable for the first playthrough, I did it just fine.
Making a really tall lanky assassin
which eyebrow do you think looks better on him? Not sure if I want to make him look like an eyebrow-less yakuza or a refined dude
Strider initially is a very utilitarian class.
You're meant to be ensnaring tough bandits and rushing down weaker ones, but initially you're gonna have a hard time with some enemies.
Skeletons in special are gonna push your shit in unless you use ensnare on them as well.
It's most definitely not representative of the rest of the game though, especially after you get Helm Splitter and learn to use it.
You're also not meant to kite people with your bow on Strider, instead you should get a Fighter pawn with Shield Summons/Shield Drum so they draw enemy attention. Then you use your strong bow skills on the cluster of enemies.
Ensnare is a necessity for Striders, I can't stress this enough.
Granted it's the only one and it's only good against Dragons but that's actually pretty useful at the end of the game.
Will we ever be able to avoid this without manually unpacking and repacking arc's ourselves?
>friend that i family share the game with logs in and starts playing some other game
>i get kicked out of DD
>now i can't play DD
>no idea what to do
Well there goes the night i had planned
I really need to save up money for the game
So I've been hearing about this Undead end-game dragon and shit. Apparently it grows stronger every time it dies online and since the PC version just released does it mean that it's currently very weak? Also it hasn't been killed yet has it?
Fuck. Yes. Fought the drake in devilfire grove, and both my bardiche daggers and rusted bow got dragonforged. I should be able to break through the defenses of the guys before grigs now.
So I have a big problem with my game. It started out fine but just as I got to the chimera. Game works perfectly fine but suddenly the keyboard stopped responding properly and whenever I tried to move it would lag the game and I would hear constant beeps (though my headset not the bios). Nothing is overheating, I have plenty of CPU and memory and if I don't move at all the game runs perfectly. Keyboard works just fine in anything else too.
I swear this is not a min maxing question, so here I go :
playing MK, and I read on the wiki some of the best augments in the game that pretty much every class should get at some point ( I guess ), like Clout, Acuity, Articulacy, all of which would boost MK deeps by a fair amount.
My question is : does it matter when I get them ?
I have been grinding fighter until rank 7 for Prescience, then switched to MK and actually want to play it. I really, really dont want to grind until rank 9 both warrior and sorcerer for their augments, but will my damage suffer too much in the meantime ?
Attention all autists. Give me your perfect Magic Archer build.
Mage/Sorc only faggots need not reply. Your build is shit.
Rate my arisen and my pawn. Arisen on the right. I'm trying to get it like my pawn is this salty seasoned guy and my arisen is this fresh faced provider from the village that hunts deer and shit. Like a mentor and mentee deal.
Looks good with 1 or 2 Muscle if you like having that for reds/yellows.
More weight is ass clip city, unsure how that looks in-game though.
Is it supposed to be moving like that?
Yeah, you really want to get them before level 47, 51 latest. The order should be mage --> sorcerer --> Warrior --> Fighter
If you're not doing this then you're gimping yourself.
I just got my first Port Crystal from the Shadow Fort. Do you guys have any recommendations on where to put it?
I thought I might just put it outside the Shadow Fort so if I needed to go best to the west I
wouldn't have to go around the mountains.
I like them.
You get a 10/10 just for not being another waifufaggot.
This little shit here crashed my party and then left without cleaning up. As usual.
What kinda inclination you want, famicom?
>tfw can't find pawns that fit the company of my Arisen and his daughter
screw you guys, i didn't need your help. for posterity:
yaourt -S steamcmd
./steamcmd.sh [email protected] windows +login anonymous +force_install_dir ../csgo_ds +app_update 740 validate +quit
hopefully that puts any brothers in need on the right track
Being able to use enchanted bows at night would be neat
I know they're uploaded separate but you can only install one at a time unless you either build the arc yourself or somebody else makes a combination arc since they all modify the same file
Witcher 2 was like this too but they were at least easier to merge
>Try the escort quests to see if they really are as bad as everyone says they are
>objective is on the complete other side of the map
>everytime we get into a fight he'll run up and stand next to me so everything hits him
>end up running past everything including a Griffin
>almost get there, he only has a sliver of health from trying hug monsters
>only need to descend the cliffs and we're golden
>he jumps off and kills himself
>back near Gran Soren again
So, does the PC port look really washed out, or is it just me?
I just got new monitors yesterday, and I spent 2 hours carefully adjusting brightness, contrast, and gamma on them. Every other game I've played maybe requires a tick of gamma adjustment at best, but I remember Dragon's Dogma having ridiculously dark nights and caves, and regardless of gamma or brightness, the caves and darkness look kind of grey and awash with ambient lighting in this version.
They take forever to cast when you should be taking the front lines and won't be as strong as a Mage's buffs. Unless you're a pure magic-statted, Magic Cannon spam build, in which case I'd call it good if you have 3+ melee classes.
Is my pawn less likely to get summoned if he is a fighter and not a girl? My pawn is the guy on the left in
I'd hate to miss out on a cool aspect of the game because I didn't make some waifu nonsense.
The only good way to do escort quests is to:
>Go to target area
>Plop down a teleportation crystal
>Start quest and teleport to target
Unless it's an escort mission for Ser Berne, then he can escort you.
n-no of course not, that would be lewd
I don't even know what they are
I don't think I can even use those yet
Why the only notice board quests "kill # of X" or "escort Y to Z"
>escorting Ser Berne to Shadowfort
>he is borderline unkillable but can't walk through door sized openings in the cave and doesn't attack a single time on the entire way there
what a fucking freeloader
can't even use the reward because I'm a pussy knight
Holy works against everything save for a few things like a dark bishop so its generally okay to take. A close second would then be fire, followed by ice for dragons. Just change your attunements depending on what you're planning to fight
How fucking small does someone need to be to get in the goblin hole under the shadow fort?
i grabbed the smallest pawn I could find in the rift cause I wanted to see what was in there, but she won't go in.
why don't I just fucking crouch?
nope, this has been known for like two months + now
>can't even use the reward because I'm a pussy knight
It's for the best Anon, that sword is stupidly OP and trivializes the game
Strange thing about the doorways though, I've never had that issue on him though the trolls used to get stuck there. However on PC they seem to be able to freely pass through? Sounds like your Berne was glitched though, fucker goes berserk usually
Can someone help me out here? I keep trying to look for the save file location, but I keep getting the pirated versions location. I want to delete it and start over because I'm pretty sure I fucked up on something.
I'm level 28, where, closest to gran soren, can I find portcrystals ?
I already got the one from the everfall, and the one in the dragon dude cavern, used both of them ( greatwall, the other deep in the north in some random location ).
I need a third before heading for the shadow fort.
I've read that post game or NG+ the game becomes vastly different in both look and difficulty. Does anyone mind expanding or can at least confirm the following:
>The games sky becomes incredibly overcast and depressing
>NPC's in post game/ng+ start talking about the end of days
Also a question: Is there any rain in the game? I think it could benefit from some rainy weather.
What is more fun, Saucyrar or magick archer?
Playing saucy right now, it's pretty cool. I feel powerful, but I'm super salty that levitate doesn't negate fall damage. Does it get better, or should I check out magick archer for awhile? I'm level 23 and at 6 in my vocation.
Heres a puppy.
About 5 hours into the game, loving it but pretty confused about a couple things. Can one of you veterans help?
1. Items: Can I just leave all non-curative items in my inn storage or is there some reason to carry materials and shit with me?
2. Quest objective: this is the main place I'm confused. Some quests (when active) place a red mark on your map. Some don't. Some THAT don't still have a "show on map" option in the quest list, but whenever I got to the place this option shows, there is NEVER anything there relevant to the quest. Where am I fucking up here? half the quests I have seem to be impossible to find.
>tfw no anons want my pawn
>tfw no friend requests
>can't see shit, dragon's doom 3
>wolves now equipped with rocket propelled grenades
>npcs are all whiny
>gran soren gets remodeled
>final dungeon aka everfall aka labyrinth of copypasta and sudoku
There's scripted rain at Bluemoon Tower I think
not a veteran but :
carry all curative, share with your main pawn ( and others if you feel like it )
put all materials in the stash, you will still be able to use or combine them
I also put all specials in there, cause some of them are fairly heavy
Apart of gitting gud, what would you suggest for me to take on that thing on the distance?
Me and Gandalf the Strong are level 26
I'm assuming that's a chimera? Then yes, you can take it on.
>Second hit of the advanced combo to dunk them on their way down
There's nothing wrong with wanting to know if there was an alternative to being a guide using faggot, proper games have a system in place that if you find something you get a general idea of where to fucking get it
not where here the same exact log can yield pine or cedar branch,
fuck you faggot
i know this is a massive stretch
but would it be within the realm of possibilities to extract the berserk armor models from the console version somehow?
i just want hope for the future so that someday i may play as guts in 60 fps
I want to do more sidequests but I think I've gone too far to do any of them. All the notice board quests are either "go kill 10000 harpies" or "go get a flask", where do I go to have
Loving the ability to combine pretty much anything with everything.
I already got some pretty powerful potions with group heals and stuff.
that feel when I bought a pickaxe when I could have crafted it myself with common mats
>that fucking Griffing Quest at Bluemoon Tower
>fighting through harpies and skeletons in pure darkness
>suddenly it's a fucking thunderstorm, we have to run across narrow walkways breaking down doors in panic as this motherfucker swoops down shooting lightning at us
>running away from crumbling floors to the top of the tower
>no running now motherfucker
>except the Griffin pushes our shit in and it's the other way around
>suddenly the magican from before turns up with his book we found
>he fucking blows up and ignites the griffin
>it's finally on the ground so I can cast Maelstrom
>literally trapping a griffin in a whirlwind whilst soldiers and magicians chip away at it at the top of a distant tower in a thunderstorm
>beat it and get a portcrystal and loadsagold
Can anything top this, holy fuck
Mystic Knight's buff is stronger than the regular buffs, even despite the lower Magick stat; the downside is the much shorter duration. You only need 300 base Magick to max out your enchanting power as well.
Its all fucking black, im not gonna adjust the brightnness of my monitor just to see it you faggot.
What software do you guys use to take screenshots?
Steam is shit and won't show my SweetFX settings.
So thankful Mage/Sorc players don't complain as much about not getting any good normals. Warriors have good aerial normals unlike all other classes, and good normals unlike blue classes.
If I go sword and board for my whole party, and excepting some BBI encounters, will it be fun?
Oh and does my pawn (right) look like total shit?
Its not the same as seeing them in the wild. I'd like to see some BBI enemies integrated in the travels when you choose hard too.

New games rail roading the experience and dumbing it down has conditioned people to not figure things out for their own anymore compared to old games. Not to mention that gamefaqs is there the moment anyone even feels a tinge of difficulty and it just goes from there
I made the same mistake as with the pickaxe, bought the key from the black cat, then crafted one randomly 5 minutes later while going through my stuff
since I already got one, is it useful to craft another ?
I went in the catacombs during that wyrm hunt quest, and had the key on me, but didnt find anything to open with it. Are they one time use ?
