How's the difficulty of Heroic Strikes compared to normal Strikes? Can I jump right in? I just hit Light level 275 and was thinking about starting doing those for Marks since, from what I gathered, Heroics don't have better drops.

Is there any reason not to use solar grenades as Sunsinger?

Fire bolts only target 3 enemies for pitiful damage, and fusion only really hits one enemy if you can land it, but the damage you do might as well been the same as shooting your gun in the time it took to throw it.

Solar grenades will melt any trash in it in true aoe, and can put good damage on single targets as well as being the easiest to aim. Are the other two grenades just for pvp where people are smart enough to step out of the fire?

Can I get strike-specific loot from the normal 36 strike playlist?

Radiance fusion spam is extremely good boss damage if you're looking for some sniper ammo and know you got orbs waiting for you. In Atheon days a wipe could be saved with a pro self res and fusion spam. Firebolts are more for pvp though.

You need to grind strikes/play crucible for gear. Basically, any activity with a good drop rate.

The quality of gear that drops is dependent on your light level. Basically, /any/ time you get a piece of gear that has slightly more light, equip it, even if it has worse perks or stat rolls than what you currently have.

Heroics aren't really worth it until you get to around 280/290. They drop guaranteed legendaries the first few times you complete them each week but for some silly reason Bungie made legendary drops affected by your Light as well, if you get them right now they'll only be marginally better than the blues you have and will probably get replaced in hours.

Also, weapons apply to the same "Equip even if it only does 1 more damage" rule, they impact you light level as much as armor does.

It's really restrictive and you basically don't get any choice in your gear until you get to LL 280+, but then it opens up a bit.

You'll be able to infuse legendary armor and weapons you like for their perks, or even just their appearance to boost the light they give by salvaging a higher leveled purple or blue. It sounds clunky, but you get a bunch of high light gear once you get to 280+

Will of light is really useful so it might be worth using that in pve.

I think the second is actually better for pvp, Third eye gives you a scope when ADS which is really helpful. Hc rounds makes it harder for your enemy to hit you when youre landing hits. Zen moment makes the most sense on a scout. Firefly and triple tap have their uses in pvp, but the first roll is better for pve the second for pvp.
