Just started playing yesterday and the game is pretty fun.

Haven't really played an arena fps since the original Unreal Tournament, so i'm still rusted as fuck.

Today i was enjoying a match, when something happened that made the game unplayable unless i'm holding tab.
I google'd it and people that replied to the same issue are saying that people with this should re-install.

Well, i went to the options menu during a match to see what the key for using the chat was.
I didn't change anything and i made my way back to the game but then, instead of being able to move, i could see the mouse pointer.
I could only move and fire (and press esc, etc) while i was holding Tab.

I google'd it and it happened to more people, and most of the suggestions are for a fresh install of the game.

I don't understand how the hell they thought out the deranks. I was nova 4 after 120-ish victories [in other words, I suck] and had so-so opponents for my skill level. Ever since I got deranked to Silver 4 i at least 20 bomb 4/5 games. And that's considering that my last competitive game before the derankings was in August, so I was definitely rusty.

I understand why they started changing the rankings, but considering that the ELOs are identical I don't see why I started facing opponents of such low skill level.

An addendum to this - MM is still pretty shitty as people on my team like to abandon, and there are often blatant smurfs who brag about it, but overall it's not bad if everyone uses the mic and is friendly.

About game sense - use your mic and call out stuff to your teammates, just keep it quick and concise. Often times it'll give them stuff they might have missed because they were preoccupied with a firefight. This is how I make most of my plays, actually - I can't aim worth shit and probably win 20% of my aim duels, so I smoke, flash my team in, and lurk like shit while listening for rotates and call out everything rather than making entry frags.

Use the MM server picker. It's unlikely to stop you from queueing up with russians on Europe West servers, but will prevent you from connecting to Russian servers.

I've been trying to transition to the loud M4 but I can't handle it. It's a bucking fucking bronco. Bread and butter AR' shouldn't hang that far to the right as soon and as long as it does. It def has a better sense of stopping power but I'm two eye rolls away from going back to the M4 quiet. Because then I can just forget the gun exists and stick with FAMAS + Utility or spend an extra $200 for the AUG.

What I really don't get is why Aus gets one invite, and one qualifying spot to the minor. That's 2 whole slots for the minor. We could fucking have our own minor and it'd be as good as the NA one that's going on right now. And it sure as hell would be 10x better games than IEM Taipei will have.
