Taking a break to make some pizza. How are those matches going?
is infiltrator better than scout? I'm about to start an infil character
I've avoided potentially reading spoilers for the last few months and just got a chance to play and beat the game very recently.
Is online play a crucial part of the experience? Haven't done any of it yet.
Also, how did you guys feel about
the fact that you've been playing as some schmuck and not the actual Big Boss? Kind of diminished some of the significance of what happened and made me feel a bit hollow.
The game seriously needs more hair options.
His face always brings this to my mind no matter what he does.
Sprinting fucking ruins bounty hunter for infiltrators
Anyone with a brain realizes someone is sprinting after them via minimap and you can't abuse S speed while invisible, which isn't that fast in the first place
The only time I get any fultons is after someone has spotted me and decides to stop running to try to shoot me
And because there's no objectives you can't count on anyone being anywhere so you can't plan an ambush or creep up on anyone who's not already fighting
My fault for not just spraying smg I guess
>Match start, guy on the mic is really excited to give MGO a try
>Mach end, guy is mad as fuck, leaves
>Match start, new guy joins, really excited to try MGO
How appropriate, I just beat it today. And I knew everything beforehand, but really had some impact.
That last scene with the mirror was really well-done, and the whole thing about impersonating was really nice when you think about it, since no one knew how BB looked so whatever.
The hypnosis thing was bullshit tho
Now, the only thing left is to destroy tanks for Quiet.
>Meme Brown Girl
I'm surprised she doesn't have white hair too.
You're waifu is literally everyone's waifu.
How does this make you feel, cuck?
>Now, the only thing left is to destroy tanks for Quiet.
Do yourself a favor and go with the armor parasites. You can tank pretty much anything, letting you fulton all the tanks easily.
Saw online earlier today, opinions? Good read apart from needing some cleanup which I took a stab at.
>tldr- don't be lazy it takes 2 minutes
At the end of the game it’s revealed that Venom Snake is not truly Big Boss. This is false. Venom Snake is Big Boss and here’s why.
First of all, the man in bandages is a hallucination. There is a cassette tape labeled “the effects of Snake’s coma”. In it is mentioned that Snake is still feeling the effects of his 9 year coma just after waking up. So, figuring out what is real in the hospital is tricky. Anything can be hallucinated so a good way to tell if something is hallucinated or not is determining if something seen in the hospital appears later in the game. This kind of evidence can be found from anywhere except cassette tapes since Big Boss is capable of hallucinating cassette tapes not to mention entire rooms and conversations. That fact means that the scene at the very end were Ishmael rides off into the sunset and the scene were miller regards Venom Snake as he and the “real” Big Boss are falling into comas can also be a hallucination. This is all supported because at a certain point in the game it is revealed that Paz is still alive. However it turns out that BB hallucinated all the conversations he ends up having with her, AND all the cassette tapes she shares with him and the hospital room they have these conversations in. Things like quite, the man on fire, and the third boy all appear later in the game. So we know that they actually exist because later in the game the effects of Snake’s coma begin to lessen. Ishmael is the only thing that doesn’t appear later. But he does appear in mission 46 labeled the “truth”. This is the mission were the twist is revealed. Let me assure you, this mission is anything from the truth. (the on-the nose title should be very suspect)
it was on the 2nd "motherbase" gameplay video
>I gave away everything I have to be a missionary
Kojima has been quoted as saying that MGS is partly inspired by the book 1984. One of the biggest references in TPP is the year it takes place. There are cassette tapes that you receive after this mission. Many things are “explained” in this mission, but it is totally possible and likely that these were all hallucinated. However these hallucinated cassette tapes are a good way to see what is going on in BB’s head, because BB is subconsciously creating the cassette tapes. One of these cassette tapes is called “doublethink”. In the book, doublethink is a way that the government suppress the truth. This tape is where most of the things about Venom are explained. But the nature of doublethink is not knowing what the truth is. Ocelot even says “in this year 2 + 2 = 5”. This cassette tape gets less and less reputable the more you think about it. Even the fact that mission 46 is called the truth makes it more likely to be the lie, because that’s the nature of doublethink. To say one thing is the truth when it is a lie. In 1984 the main character’s job is to change old documents so that they seem to predict future events. He fabricates lies from old speeches and reports. This is the case with missions 1 and mission 46. Mission 46 is the change that happens to mission one, reminiscent of the falsified documents in 1984.
Not only that, but look at the character of Ishmael. The name is a reference to Moby Dick. In the book, Ishmael is two characters, the protagonist in the past and the narrator in the present. Ishmael can’t be the protagonist because Venom is the protagonist, so naturally he is the narrator. They are the same person, but they can’t exist in the same place, because Ishmael the narrator is older than Ishmael the character because Ishmael the narrator is telling the story about himself. This works with BB and Ishmael. So if Ishmael is the narrator and BB is the protagonist and they therefore can’t exist in the same place then this supports the idea that Ishmael is a hallucination.
There are so inconsistencies created by the end of the game. Consider this, how did Ocelot save the “real” Big Boss? He wipes his memory of Ishmael in one of the “truth” cassette tapes. It seems safe to assume that in-between getting Ishmael a ride and saving Big Boss in the van I don’t think he had time to wipe his memory and record a cassette tape. And why does Quiet want to kill Big Boss? She explains at the end that she wanted revenge for him burning her but he didn’t burn her, right? Ishmael did. This little detail made sense when Ishmael was just a hallucination. But if he was really the one who burned Quiet then why did she want revenge on BB? If Ishmael was really physically there then she would have wanted revenge on Ishmael not BB.
PLEASE tell me theres a way to mute everybody's shitty mics by default. I'm fucking sick of hearing these fatasses chomping down on DEWRITOS.
Finally, I’m going to talk about the last important piece of evidence. The Man Who Sold the World. The song that is originally by David Bowie, and featured in TPP. In the game it’s interpreted as there being two men. In the case of the game that would be Venom and Big Boss as individual people, when really the song is about one person. It’s about the man’s inner struggle with himself. The struggle between who he really is and the person he has sold himself as. So these aren’t two individual Big Boss’. They are the two personalities of the one man. Venom Snake is as much the real physical Big Boss as the Big Boss in the hallucination is. And once you understand this it has HUGE ramifications for the rest of the series. It explains Big Boss. He is stuck between who he has become, venom, punished, and who the world sees him as, Big Boss. He is caught between the phantom pain, and the best part of himself. So when Big Boss rides away on the motorcycle it is symbolic of the best part of Snake leaving.
Because they are still two identities. "Venom Snake" is killed. The theory isn't that BB is faking, it's that he has two personalities which are in conflict. This has precedent in Liquid Ocelot.
Why did Huey turn out to be such a huge piece of shit in the end? It's plausible that he really did have good intentions with the original nuclear inspection, but everything that came after is undeniably inexcusable and unforgivable. I don't feel so sorry about Hal sleeping with his step-mother anymore.
Tape with Zero visiting. Or are we just operating on the assumption that all tapes could possibly be nonexistent because lol hallucinations?
Also the scene from the perspective of Ahab, seeing the declaration that Big Boss will be in a coma, or lol hallucinations again?
I always just thought the entire plot was symbolic for the "Legend Big Boss" becoming greater than a single man can ever be.
It doesn't really matter who big boss is, as long as the legend big boss exists.
It's like the god of war.
I just used Laughing Wallaby for FOBs for a bit for the points bonus, an A rank medium range guard blind firing from about 40-50m one shot me with one burst that happened to hit her.
She's kind of a shit waifu, guys.
Holy shit the fucking salt
my fucking sides
You should still get the bonuses.
I don't recommend the ps3 versions though. They're fine but playing at 30 is a real drag.
You'll have way more fun playing on a toaster even.
Not claiming the tapes are 100% fabricated but that they're untrustworthy.
Do you mean when Kaz says 'what about him'? It could literally be the medic who just dies after? Not really of much consequence imo.
I listened to a discussion earlier on about people who were pissed by the idea that they just made Venom into BB through hypnotherapy and that it undermines the idea that he's a legendary perfect soldier. Nobody would disagree with that more than Big Boss himself though and the medic is stated to be pretty elite too. Hmm.
Venom and BB are still two identities. That conversation also raises flags for me. We're told that Ocelot will convince himself that Venom is BB and by the time you reach that scene he's spilling the beans to Kaz? It also still contradicts the timing of the Truth tape recording. I'm still snooping around but I'm not going to consider it radical to also take something Ocelot is telling someone with a big grain of Hayter.
>it undermines the idea that he's a legendary perfect soldier
What undermines THAT notion is that I already have 20 guys who are better soldiers than Venom.
It was never about one person, it was about the idea of a person.
How much of the games shortcomings, if you think it had any, is due to the falling out between Konami and Kojima? Do you think we'd have a vastly different product, whether it be content, length, or quality, if shit did not go down the way it did?
Why did they remove all the life from MB?
it was never there to begin with, this is a scripted sequence. if they kept this in the game, it would be the only thing you'd see.
can't expect anyting good to come from anything anymore.
As one other point for the Single Boss theory in
is the nature of the twist itself. Pretty much everything Kojima presents is deliberate and he values the concept of the twist. The fact that people accept the body double 'twist' even though it's served up on a silver platter from not just the opening, but even the trailers (and for the hardest fans even in GZ on its own) is pretty surprising to me, especially with the triple running themes of Man Who Sold the World, Moby Dick and 1984 also included and they take expository information from sources called Truth and Doublespeak as gospel. Very weird for the MGS fanbase.
I agree. One reason why I didn't have any initial problem with the body double plot to begin with. I like it too.
US West here
I'll host sometime laterish with the same map-rotation/gamemode (BOUNTER HUNTER) unless you guys can come to a consensous of what you'd like.
go back and replay [FLASHBACK] Diamond Dogs
Honestly, it'd probably be a lot more fleshed out, it's painfully obvious Konami basically wanted the game out ASAP and didn't give a shit about Kojima's opinion about it.
Either that or Kojima just lost love for the game and decided to rush it and Konami had nothing to do with it, but honestly the story feels way too thought out to be the case.
w2c RAY helmet?
>it doesn't look like every waifufag's character in the general, meme!
last time I checked literally everyone's waifu here was white you nigger
Since so many people don't seem to get it, you're not supposed to be able to wake up on your own in Cloak and Dagger.
That's why it takes forever in that mode.
The trick is to not get knocked out or have a budy nearby to wake you.
Discuss the game. I assume I've missed out on months of discussion because I couldn't play the game up until recently, but I come here and all I see is MGO pictures and people ignoring my posts. What do you think of Huey?
I use it to take out choppers by fultoning a vehicle up. I don't bring rockets and missiles with me usually so that's my main method of completing Tank Unit side missions when they crop up.
Also it's fun to attach it to people you hold up.
LOVE Huey. As a character, I hate him. And that is entirely the point. He's fucking terrifying, because i think he GENUINELY believes he's done nothing wrong. Christopher Randolph did a great job of portraying this really slimey character that you ALMOST feel sorry for but never quite.
If someone makes a separate mgg thread I'd join it. It would probably benefit the MGO people also since we'd get more of the mandatory joost, spongebob and yaoi shitposting.
It went further than that for me, I just didn't believe he did those things later on and assumed he was being framed and just couldn't figure out how to explain it on the spot.
Not to mention he was totally right in telling BB that it's his fault for keeping a nuke around. And that Kaz is generally a fucker.
Well, if you just recently played TPP, I can see why you'd want to talk about it.
But for the rest of us, that hasn't been worth talking about since November.
These threads devolved into off topic shitposting right around then while MGO discussion was shat on because PC players couldn't talk about it.
It's only since the PC beta for MGO that these threads stopped being rancid dog shit.
I disagree about faulting Big Boss for having a nuke as insurance. Of course having a nuke will run some risks, but only Cipher knew about it until the supposed nuclear inspection in GZ, which was thanks to Huey.
>Not to mention he was totally right in telling BB that it's his fault for keeping a nuke around.
Except, if I remember correctly from Peace Walker, Huey and Kaz were the ones who pushed the idea that MSF should have a nuke onto Big Boss.
Like, Kaz salvaged it from the lake and Huey strapped it to Zeke, both without input from Big Boss.
>shoot laggy infiltrator coming at me
>suddenly I'm fulton'd from a fulton punch from his corpse
>enemy team gets +8
I don't have this on record in my memory, but didn't BB in both this and PW dislike the idea of having them and take the same "Fine." approach that he did with the battle gear?
>Not just running up to a motherfucker and cqcing them into a fulton
I bet you run away the second the balloon is inflated.
Beginner's mistake, you should stick around and be ready if the balloon pops so you can pop a cap in their ass.
Yeah, Kaz and Huey were actually really close throughout PW. I mean ZEKE was basically Huey's entire doing, but he let Kaz choose the name. I think thats why it especially stung for Kaz. Not just the abhorrent things Huey did, but the fact they used to be friends.
lol anti-hypefag is a silly willy
>only joined the general after the game came out
>never cared for the game until someone got it for him
>never seen the trailers or gameplay videos
>comes to the general and calls us fags for being a fan of the game
Kazuhira Miller: You know, Snake, you're right. As long as we're "soldiers without borders," we're going to be a target. We need our own deterrent.
Naked Snake (Big Boss): We're going to be stepping into a lot of different conflicts as we roam the world. Each one unique, and with its own set of geography, ideologies, and politics. If we're going to intervene in those kinds of situations, we need the threat of a Metal Gear.
Miller: ...Unless we want to end up like Che Guevara did in Bolivia.
Snake: Well said. Our army without borders doesn't have a land to call home. We're nomads. Wanderers. What we need now is a sheepdog to guard our flock.
Snake: Maybe it's not the way The Boss would have gone about it... But there are places in this world that need us - and soldiers that need MSF. And as long as we're needed, we'll keep on moving. Ours is a journey that never ends. We're the real Peace Walkers
the guy that made that character doesn't play MGO anymore so im sure hes okay with that.
I dont have many screenshots of her but he made ocelots face and used the revolver and everything.
This slog is why I'm not going to prestige for the stupid locked behind it outfits. Not worth it.
How bad is 30 though? I just got all three classes to 20. This 2XP though, doesn't seem to do very much in the way of increasing leveling speed.
>a full second later, cloak is activated
>get thrown by some dude
>unload a full MACHT magazine into him
>get shot twice by a sniper, killed
>it was by the guy who threw me
>he never even equipped the weapon
>according to the aftercam he killed me with a throw
welp time to drop this i had my fill and im sick of it already. guess ill go back to collecting the cassettes
>you will never give her a bowl of eggs
>partner accidentally chokes me out
>don't bother mashing
>Let me eye close completely and press one button over and over
>QT lets out a sex moan every time I press a button
Well, if anyone else is wondering, I just tested, if you change the download region on Steam, you get different results from the matchmaking system in the game.
>inb4 why ask if you're going to search
>this hallway scene was either cut or was only a promotional scene all along
Pretty disappointed, probably the strongest scene of the trailers next to that other one with Venom falling to his knees in that charred land with bodies.
>jigglebone animal hats out the ass
This is suffering.
>Guy invades my FOB
>Kills a bunch of my guards and causes a combat alert
>I stun him and fulton him
>No revenge wormhole, security challenge disabled
What the fuck
skullface dying in 1975 and big boss being haunted by the idea of skullface coming for him and growing increasingly paranoid is really not that bad of an idea
like, it's better than the extremely similar paz plotline imo
>Literally 6 people walk right pass me as im prone
>2 of them get Fulton Cannon'd
>Continues to move like a Snake
FUCK I love the Jungle at night.
The Desert map is Camp Heaven.
What was that scene with Code Talker and his parasites about? He mentioned a meeting between container, someone talking about the Ocelot missing his mark, and when Venom asks him about it, he tells him to keep his eyes on Kazuhira.
It's not about the burgers, is it? Seemed way too serious a scene for a gag.
which fucking nigger decided i should only be allowed to pause and quit when ive already fucking spawned
i can't even ragequit properly
alt-f4 is faster than quitting half the fucking time
I'm aware of that, just wanted to give him more credit than he deserved and assumed the reply was even somewhat serious. There are better ways to spend time than writing drivel in response to a legitimate question that can spark discussion, but I guess I'm expecting too much of this general.
> The games story is complete
What happens with Eli and Sally, what happened to the child soldiers, what is the actual Big Boss doing while Venom is playing decoy, how does Venom become the villain we see in Metal Gear, how does Mother Base out in the ocean turn into Outer Heaven in South Africa, when do they go full nuclear.
Yeah, it's nowhere near complete.
>nothing but shitposting and memes for months
>MGO comes to PC
>some people are having actual discussions or just talking about playing the game
>wanting to go back to the wasteland this general was post-TPP
sorry, yeah, these have just all kind of been asked often. no one knows what the code talker bits were about really, which is a shame.
apparently the Japanese phrase for the secret meeting between the containers is used in romantic contexts, so that one's probably just fluff. ocelot's aim could possibly be a reference to his hypnosis, maybe him coming out of it and having trouble concentrating on motherbase because of it. it's really all just speculation.
the kaz one is pretty puzzling. I don't think it's just a reference to the hamburgers, I agree, but there's not much else to work off of.
>what is Big Boss doing
>how does Venom become
>how does MB become OH
>when do they
These aren't really part of this story though, it has no obligation to answer these questions since the details are either inconsequential or already explained sufficiently.
Sahelanthropous, that's true enough.
By playing the game.
Unless they changed it for PC, Automatching gives you 50 GP for a loss and 100 GP for a win while selecting a match gives 10 GP for a loss and 20 GP for a win.
during one her streams, she was trying to find out how to get to the animal conservation platforms and she shouted "such a lust for animals? zoooooo!". it was one of her many cute moments. you had to be there though.
The Sahelanthropus is the only thing that would have been resolved by that. Pretty big I guess, but them leaving with it is suitable as a cliffhanger anyway imo.
Also wasn't the cut mission 51 at least included in the CE? So doesn't it qualify as canon, just "hidden"?
there was going to be more missions wrapping up the plotline with Eli but they were cut
they included a little bit of the cutscenes and some concept art on the collectors edition dvd, you can find it on youtube under kingdom of flies
>Guy fulton punching the fuck out of my team
>They're too stupid to figure out how to avoid it
>I lie on the ground and wait there
>He runs around me in circles punching the air for half a minute while I attempt to tranquilize him
such a lovely couple
Sleep automatically makes them scatter. Smoke presents less of a danger, so using it as a direct assault tactic can be better if you're using CQC as they'd be lingering around if they're not careful.
Plus there's the addition of Smoke being used in the traditional sense as cover. For Infiltrator, it'd be key to use it properly in order to avoid gunfire or detection. It also works as a visual distraction, which will cause more attention than audio ones caused by Magazines. People will be naturally drawn to it to see what's hidden, which can be used to draw attention away from yourself. With Sleep's low density and clear gas, it doesn't provide the same stealth bonuses as Smoke. Sleep also only serves to give your position away easier. With Smoke you can be anywhere, but with Sleep you're definitely not in the gas unless you're an idiot.
It's all about tactics.
Since you've already proven you have no basic reading comprehension or ability to pay attention to the obvious, I'll help you out:
This entire line of discussion was started by the question "how different would the game be if there was no falling out between Kojima and Konami or they had more time?"
And that answer is, not different at all, because the main story of the game, and all it's subplots and character arcs are fully resolved within the game, with the exception of Eli/Sahelanthropus - and we know what the resolution to that subplot was, because they gave what they had completed of it to us to watch and fill that gap. If the game had more time, we'd get that exact same resolution, just in playable form instead of watchable. It wouldn't have even been the final mission of the game, it's was another sub-plot resolving mission like A Quiet Exit but mechanically over ambitious.
Sorry, the fan fic in your head wasn't some great lost story that the game would have had if Kojima hadn't been fired. We got the story he wanted to tell from beginning to end.
So you're saying that Kojima, a guy known for trying to go too big with his projects, while having his project be impeded pretty much directly by the CEO of Konami for the past 2-3 years, didn't take anything out?
Kojima can’t say much about the studio’s first project yet. “I want to create something that’s what people expect, but at the same time will have something new that people haven’t seen before. It will be a complete game.”
inb4 complete story incomplete game, you're a fucking autistic dumbass if you can't understand this
[ ] told
[ ] not told
[x] The Man who Told the World
Nope. She's even 2pure to do nude shots
more like the company that owns her image thinks she's more marketable if she seems pure to her fanbase
seriously i'm surprised they let her even flirt at the idea of having a boyfriend but i guess japan isn't so worried about making their gaijin models look pure
shhh no lies
The dodge button which doesn't save you at all.
It can stagger someone running for a punch and puts you in a position they can't fulton punch you.
Also CQC a best, git gud Fulton Punchers
Think I'll invite her over for some "TV and chill"
oh FUCK, I completely forgot it was called fox alive, holy shit that's terrible.
>hmmm what should I call the virus
>"activate the virus "hot zone kill""
>no that's stupid... what about a variant of number
>"activate the "virus 66""
>no that's not right... how about the opposite of that old thing?
>"Activate Virus "Fox ALIVE""
>Okay that's good enough, moving on.
Does this shit give protection/reduce damage or is this all vanity?
>hop into rando server
>have my sniper gear on cause freeroam
>see someone about to be fultoned out
>whip out my scope and aim but a bridge plank (Jade Forest) is in my way
>IT FREES THE POOR GUY
You can shoot through wood with any gun besides non-lethals.
This goes for almost every piece of wood in the game including crates.
When Walker Gear users learn of this I may as well quit.
It's gotta be on the same coast or else the lag will be as bad as any other.
>wanting to play with people like "Such a lust for memes" (yes that's a real player i played against)
>wanting some faggot in full red who misses "muh MGO2, only oldfags will get my meme colors"
You're better off with auto-match
>finally get scope+forgrip(what is standard on assault)
what the hell, when the christ do I get some of the interesting weapons like the bullpups
Ascension pays out 10k for the first one, 30k for the second one and 50k for the last one.
You also get +1 loadout slot per Ascension.
So those are good reasons to do it if you don't mind leveling up a character 4 times.
You also unlock a class specific outfit.
The MGSV Battle Dress for Enforcers, the MGSV Sneaking Suit for Infiltrators and a Ghillie Suit for Scouts.
Sniping and Marking. Letting the whole team score points for me.
>I don't know how anyone could have fun with Enforcer.
Buffed explosives, a signature weapon that tears shit up, walkerfags can't touch you and the shield has a few neat combo attacks.
>without allowing the man on fire to attack even once
Anyone who's cleared the objectives for the prologue, what counts as an 'attack' from volgin? He keeps throwing up his hand and igniting the trees which seems to hurt us, and sometimes when he's preparing to shoot fire and I hit him he just launches it anyway but misses.
Does it just mean 'have 0 hits taken'?
Give her warm blanket and give her a kiss in the cheek :3
I miss Urban Ultimatum so much
Boosting if you're just trying to get XP.
That consists of Cloak and Dagger matches where you and a partner take turns interrogating each other and nothing else.
The best way to get XP while still actually playing the game is 99 ticket Bounty Hunter matches.
Dear Konami, too many guns are killing me in this game, please remove 3.
if he puts his hand up and you shoot him and he misses, you should be good
i think if the hits taken counter comes up, it's no good
kind of hard to say exactly what counts and what doesn't, unfortunately
Pretty much all the maps from MGO2 were fun to play on.
The only one I didn't really like was Virtuous Vista and that was mainly because it was sniper heaven and I never liked to use sniper rifles.
But then I figured out that stun grenades were pretty useful against snipers when you had to cross open ground. Just threw the stun grenade, wait for it to go off and then run across the area while they're blinded.
Why can infiltrators shoot while their camo is on? I keep getting killed because some camo faggot is just sitting in a corner, and even though he misses half of his shots, I still can't fight back because he's invisible
Hazard House was pretty bad gameplay wise but the design was god-like, no wonder it was my favourite map by design after Outer Outlet
Outer outlet was just too beautiful but it didn't work well all the time, Tomb of tubes was so beautifully designed and worked great in every mode, Forest Firefight was great but unexpectedly short and Ambush Alley felt great with SDM and TSNE
I don't know why but MGO2's map designs were so characteristic and good, every time you played in them you would feel all the care and the ideas fizzling inside the map designer's brains
I think the fact that MGS4 was set in a more modern industrial world has led to many more possibilities being explored compared to TPP's setting focused on nature like sand, forests etc.
Anyway MGO2 had a set of killer maps and it breaks my heart to know I won't ever see them again
why the fuck is enforcer even a class in a stealth action game
>Fulton Cannon and S. Pistol get me at S rank movement
>Adding a suppressor puts me at A rank
Does the movement rankings change drastically after a letter or is it more based on the weight? (i.e. 3.0kg S rank is similar to 3.2kg A rank)
VV, II and RR were always my worst maps.
>no cozy SS, HH and WW
>no M870 to stunlock faggots into oblivion with
>no text chat to hear their lamentations
At least there's no vote kick.
NO FUCK YOU. WHENEVER I USE THE FUCKING SHIELD EVERYONE KILLS ME PER-FUCKING-FECTICLY. BUT NOOOO, WHEN I SHOOT SOMEONE ELSE WITH THE GOD DAMN SHIELD, I CAN'T LAND A FUCKING HIT. YOU'RE GOD DAMN RIGHT I'M PISSED.
>Hiding in the vents of HH
>Never staying outside with the rain because the rain would reveal the silhouette of your character with your stealth camo
>Hiding in the Outer Outlet garage, between the various cars, lying down after holding triangle so that your knife wouldn't be visible and you would become invisible
>Waiting for people to pass by while you were hidden by the collapsed buildings in AA
>Avoiding the main route in VV because both snipers and people with machine guns would instakill you
>The whole stealth camo in general and the TSNE tension
>Now all of it is gone because you're never really invisible and people can just camp on roofs with a scope and see you
>You could pick up the RES target as the defenders and move it where you like
>Playing on S. East
>Pick up the target and place it in the back room in the cabin
>Hid behind the boxes with a shotgun
>People come rolling over the boxes without looking every single time
All of these memories...
Did you feel it
and the game just keeps getting more and more hype as the game goes on
HEY MOTHERFUCKER, I'M COMING TO SLAM YOU WITH THIS PIECE OF FUTURISTIC TECHNOLOGY.
HEAR ME HOOOOOOOOOOOOWWWWWWWWWWWLL
>Everyone else's sleep darts are laser guided, heat seeking and never miss, and their camo creates perfect invisibility
>Mine disappear when they leave the barrel and my camo might as well just highlight me
>To get stuff to make infiltrator fun to play you have to play them like enforcers
Every time I play I ask why I didn't just go scout.
>Everyone else's sleep darts are laser guided, heat seeking and never miss
Remember this game has auto-aim.
> my camo might as well just highlight me
If you don't have Stealth 3 then Scouts with NVG can see you.
>that fucking sway when trying to aim something not a pistol
I don't remember it being this god awful in TPP
I don't know but it is a good question.
Why don't you experiment a little and share your results!
A rank and S rank are marginally different but almost all of my loadouts are S since I never run lethal, but an S rank will outrun an A rank no problem.
Plus you sorta want the noise, you can use it to bring enemies towards a trap.
It's not like we're actually playing so the lag hardly matters to me
I made a 2 man lobby, "Training room, Serious business only, CLOAK AND DAGGER only"
password is "dogpiss"

>Fans: "We won't buy your game Kojima!"
>Konami: *Releases new metal gear game*
>Fans: *Still buy the game anyways because it's METAL GEAR™"
>Konami: *Begins work on next Metal Gear game.*
>Fans: *Wonder why it's not dead yet*
It's the cycle bro
I get bounty hunter is supposed to be a more action oriented game type but CQC is almost never worth it because there's a guy right behind them every single time and it feels like no one even tries any of the stealth mechanics. Why did they cod the spawns up so much?
Rising had Kojima oversight over Platinum. This was while he was still head of Konami's console game division.
The real question is if Konami is even doing ANYTHING for console anymore, much less Metal Gear.
Rising had a great gameplay for a spin-off but the graphics were bad, the level design was good only in some levels and fucking Raiden didn't even had lipsync when he had codec calls
Not to mention the plot was hardly something worth remembering
And I'm saying this as a MGR lover
Remove a one or two spawns from every map and I'd enjoy it a lot more since there's time to reach the fighting.
Also why would you ever choose anything else besides the little hanger at Camp Omega. All the fighting always centers around there no matter what.
Would have greatly benefited from it
Platinum engine is just plain disgusting
I remember when I first played the demo. I can't even recall how many times I went back and replayed the Bladewolf fight.

>only 6 posts a thread were mgo related followed by "fuck off faggots"
>posts of waifus would trigger hoey to derail the threads
>anyone with any kind of rank would be called a faggot for boosting
>98% posts are mgo on PC
>over 40 of them are of waifus
>openly posting on the general here inviting people to boost
>literally stole thousands of dollies from jewnami when they had the chance
I dont even want to say anything because Im not a hooey
>but the graphics were bad
That because they basically pulled it out of the trash after Kojima was through with it. I think it's actually pretty damn amazing for what Platinum had to work with. I agree with the story though, but again, i'd blame Kojima for that since we know it went through so many story changes. If Konami ever had Platinum work on the next game, and they actually sit down to plan things out, i'm almost sure they could make something GOTY worthy.
I'm sure there's a word for the things that could've been.
