Unless SU83 comes out, more information on the 25th Anniversary games surfaces, or a senpai and a few drawfriends decide to surprise us...probably. But hey, at least we have eachother, right?
Yacker is more important than Mighty
>[laughs] "Mighty"? who is 'dat? Some-kind of'a fan character?
It's been so long
Sonic Boom confirmed three-toed feet.
Shadow with sunglasses
True, but not just here, but on other boards and other sites, I've seen people pretty damn opposed to Sticks even touching the main games. And I doubt it's just me, but I'd hate to see her get a starring role in the main series when other characters like Knuckles, Amy, and pretty much anyone not named Sonic, Tails, or Eggman are pretty much neglected
Depends who is writing him
Aw shit nigga, now I gotta listen to RAM again.
Cute is the best
>Not posting the Eggman version
what is wrong with you
It's ok anon
at least you had it
Literal Vegeta tier
now if only he would adapt some more of Vegeta's personality
What do you guys think of the Sonic Shorts? Do they still hold up today?
Some of them do (The Fan character one is still great to this day) but a lot of them don't, and the animation quality is pretty bad, but I'm not expecting something that great
Good night /sthg/
Depends on how he's written; he's got a lot of potential. This being Sonic, of course, things get fucked up at almost every turn.
He can be an edgy anti-hero, a "tragic" (insofar as a cartoon hedgehog can be "tragic") hero, a grouch with a hidden heart of gold (or at least bronze), a comically serious thug, a manipulative sorta-kinda villain, you name it. But since nobody can agree on what he's supposed to be, he ends up being all of these or none of them.
Thus, the (stereo)typical way to write him is to throw all of those character traits into a blender set to "liquefy", mix in a measure of alien blood and tears, bake the mix in a casserole dish at a million degrees for a week, freeze it for fifty years, then serve it with a side of steamed bat and deviled Eggman when the fans are hungry for edge.
The trouble is that it isn't just fanfic writers that do this; it's how he's been portrayed in canon since the beginning. So until everyone can make up their damn minds on how to write him, he isn't worth using.
>my face during this entire cutscene
>How do they right Shadow in the comics?
Do what 06 did but better AKA put him on GUN alongside Rouge and Omega, and allow for some good moments between them. Make him less edgy and more the straight man to everyone's bullshit.
besides Team Sonic.
They do Shadow "right" by having Shadow be "the serious guy" without being edgy, and giving him a good supporting cast that he can bounce off of. This lets him be diverse enough to be a protagonist or antagonist (his fight with Knuckles) depending on what makes sense, without being stupidly edgy.
I don't read the comics that much, but from what I've heard about them, he's pretty much a
shadowof Sonic, leaning toward the "grouch with a hidden heart of gold" perspective.
Now if Rouge said she had her orders and that Blaze was bluffing then I could understand her wanting to keep it. I mean far as I know her and Blaze have never really interacted before, so she'd have no idea about Blaze's character or that she's even a princess, especially considering that Blaze is from another zone entirely.
But fuck that, the gem is pretty, so fuck yo universe.
>you will never have a malfunctioning Shadow Android as a best friend
>so she'd have no idea about Blaze's character or that she's even a princess
GUN has their sources.
>that short with monitors in Mad Space
I don't think so. I imagine her being very absent minded
>Bump the absent-minded, clumsy deer MILF
>absolutely adores you, and supports you no matter what
>plays vidya and reads comic books with you
>nearly as bad a cook as Sally, so mostly makes sandwiches
>forgets to pack your lunch sometimes, gives you her wallet instead
>everyone in the neighborhood has the hots for her, but she's totally oblivious to anyone except you
>occasionally teases you into helping with chores
>hangs out with Aunt Sage on the weekends
Because apparently, if someone so much as steps on a roach, the whole future goes up in flames and it's Crisis City all over again.
Otherwise, we get Onyx City - a (slightly less) bad future ruled by technocratic hooded communists
The first time I played through the game I restored seaside hill but it didn't give me the achievement. This time on PS3 I got the red star ring at the end of crisis city and it didn't give me the trophy
>Shadow will never have his human waifu
Good god I find that episode so hilarious.
In the 4kids dub she just flies off into space never to be seen again yet in the next scene they airbrushed out her grave but not it's fucking shadow.
In the japanese version though she just straight up fucking dies and shadow buries her.
I don't know why the 4kids edit just fucking cracks me up.
Maybe i'm a bad person.
They'll always live on in our dreams.
>If Bump has rump, what does Sage have
Crippling self esteem issues and hatred of everyone around her
Wasn't there something about that in the Japanese version of Rise of Lyric
In-game Archie comic was based on the 3DS version. Which had Shadow mind-controlled, so that makes sense.
English Rise of Lyric dropped that plot point and made Shadow edgy for no reason.
The storybook games are not that good gameplay wise, but great in pretty much every other area, especially story oddly enough. I'd go as far to say that Secret Rings and Black Knight have the strongest stories of any of the games. Oh, and the music is fucking great as always, but especially in Black Knight, with one of the most underrated final boss themes in the franchise
I remember getting Sonic and the Secret Rings when I was young for Christmas and I was so disappointed at the gameplay. It wasn't what I was expecting at all.
Story was weird but not bad though.
I have troubles sitting down to play video games... specially games I haven't played before and even more specially... games that aren't all that great to begin with. But I've been wanting to give them a spin for a while, I might get a kick out of the character interactions, which I love and desperately need more of.
Dammit, Dad, I told you the Great War never happened! Waitaminute, how are you not Pendered?

ORIGINAL ANATOMICAL COMPONENT, DO NOT STEAL
Which Sonic character would make the best parent? Which Sonic character would make the worst parent?
Vanilla is already a mother, so she probably knows her shit.
Scourge would probably kill the baby in record time. If he didn't, it would be the most hilarious and tragic thing to witness.
>Which Sonic character would make the best parent?
Vanilla. Cream's surprisingly well balanced for being raised by what we assume is a single mom. Surprised her kid doesn't have diabetes from all the baked goods she makes
>Which Sonic character would make the worst parent?
Locke. It's not even close, though Scourge and Fiona would be a pair of hilariously awful parents
I think it's Evan, but I'm not sure
Thinking about this a bit more I just realized that there'd be no Good Hank equivalent in Sonic. I think Ian at the very least implied that roboticized body parts work just like their organic versions when asked how Bunnie had kids in MXYL. Sonic getting a younger sibling that started out partially roboticized and being a constant reminder to their parents of Jules' failure during the great war due to said roboticized parts could have been an interesting dynamic if it was done well.
Although it'd probably be greatly held down by the fact it's in a series about a cartoon hedgehog whom's main ability is traversing at an exceptionally high speed while having a somewhat unruly disposition.
>mfw I got beat by an old man in this game
> I was 13
>I thought I could beat him because I was younger
nice blog scooby doo. now fuck off.
Actually, they're still some pretty interesting characters. Who are they and what is their end goal by aggressively pursuing scientific progress and forcing everyone else into compulsory work?
Are they even still alive at the end of Silver Age?
if we're dragging from the bottom of the barrel for new characters to put into the comic, what other stupidly obscure characters do you think will appear?
>if we're dragging from the bottom of the barrel for new characters to put into the comic, what other stupidly obscure characters do you think will appear?
Not obscure, but Elise. I would not be surprised if she showed up at some point. Other than that, maybe a couple of the remaining characters from SaTAM that aren't present and possibly 1 or 2 more AoSTH characters, but I doubt that'll happen. I can't think of any game characters that are usable that haven't been used yet.
Best: Probably Vector. He's poor as shit, yeah, but he tries hard and would probably strike a good balance between being supportive, encouraging independence, and being fun.
Worst: Rouge. I have no doubt that she'd "accidently" leave her kids in a car with the windows rolled up on a hot day, whilst giving handjobs in exchange for cocaine in some back alley.
>I have no doubt that she'd "accidently" leave her kids in a car with the windows rolled up on a hot day, whilst giving handjobs in exchange for cocaine in some back alley.
Are you sure you didn't get her confused with Fiona? Rouge is pretty responsible, and arguably the most mature member of Team Dark. Plus she could probably pull a few strings and get GUN to help pay for raising the kid, if her paycheck won't already.
That's actually a better description of what I was going for. She strikes me as the least interested in children of the main cast, but would be more neglectful / irritated than out-and-out abusive. Definitely one to delegate child care to paid help.
Robots have the best songs.
Okay, if Mighty and Ray were to be reinvented for the games like the Chaotix, what would be good premises for them?
I see Mighty as a sort of Indiana Jones-type character that, like Sonic, is a roving nomad, but slow and steady as opposed to quick, so he has time to absorb all the details of his surroundings. Therefore he's intimately aware of the lore behind many of the ancient civilizations scattered around Sonic's world.
I can't really see Ray apart from Mighty, but I'm also having trouble seeing a good role for him. I think it's be interesting to have a hero / sidekick relation where the sidekick is young, brash and impatient (basically the reversal of Sonic and Tails), but it's hard to do that without him being annoying or too much like Charmy or Silver. And what special ability would he have? The obvious answer is piloting aircraft, but that would overlap too much with Tails's character.
IMO, this is the design that comes closest to pulling that off. Still kinda busy compared to the other characters' designs.
They kiss so passionately that a new mobian babby pops out of a hole in the ground nearby.
>came back from watching Genesis
>Sonic just took down more than half of Mexico
>the Shattered World/Unleashed adaptation is coming to an end!
>now they can finally do original stories!
So um...am I reading the same book as everyone else? What exactly do they think is going to be a big change after this? Why are they acting like having Unleashed as an excuse to world hop is somehow PREVENTING other stories from happening? Last I checked, the Unleashed wasn't about underwater cities, ruin nerds on Angel Island, deer sisters in a bad place, fake heroes in Shamar, walrus dad drama, old men who can't get over their dead daughters, Shadow fighting Black Arms spinoffs, Bunnie being badass, Silver hanging out with an absentminded professor, Blaze and Amy fighting a pirate Metal Sonic, Omega picking on a small gizoid, Breezie running a casino, the Chaotix going to Pumpkin Hill, Tikal doing ANYTHING....
People keep saying "Oh good, now we can get different stories" when we've already had several...so WTF are they expecting to change?
It looks like a gotta bring this up. Mighty already a pretty well thought personality which I really hope Sega keeps if they bring him back.
>In the video games, Mighty is described as gentle and caring pacifist, only using his strength and fighting abilities when there is no other option. He loves to travel, and his dream is to journey to all places of the world. According to the Japanese manual of Knuckles' Chaotix, Mighty enjoys forest bathing, likes peace and nature, and detests violence.
As for Ray... I imagine a little bit of a Luigi-thing with him. He seemed to be easily frighted in SegaSonic.
Kind of seems a bit too early for Unleashed to end already though. Fucking worlds unite and delays kept on getting in the way so it makes it seem longer than it actually is. Maybe I'm behind, at what point in Unleashed were they at in the comic the last time it actually released something?
What the fuck does that have to do with anything? It just feels like they haven't gotten that far in unleashed to me but they're apparently ending it already. So I'm wondering if I'm behind on the comic.
We've got at LEAST eight months to go here.
The game is just the backdrop, they aren't following the plot exactly. They got all seven chaos emeralds as of #279 and have two or three Gaia Keys.
Because we just got solicits for an arc that comes out after an arc that isn't out yet.
SU just wrapped up the Silver Arc (or some are just getting it next week)
after that is four issues of Eggman/Egg Bosses
after that is Knuckles and Amy.
StH just wrapped up Shamar and The Suffering, and we finally got Razor's little story, then we have
Sonic tails and Chip vs Axel
Sally and Rotor doing something
Chun-nan, Dulcy and Conquering Storm
Bunnie and Tails
Knuckles and Mighty (presumably with Amy and Ray)
And then something involving several heroes, Cream doing something, and Phage coming back
And then it's "Panic in the Sky."
4 to 5 more days until 21/1/16
how about you get fucked on go on the metric system you yanks! and while you're at it, stop with the fucking sticks of butter!
in your potato world, yes.
just as minutes tick over hours, days tick over weeks, which tick over months. why on earth you yanks put months before days I'll never understand. do you fear it'll bring along communism or something?
anyway, it's 10:40 here and I need to sleep.
Nu Max or Vanilla
you already know what I was going to say
Anon from here
>Bunnie and Tails
I hate delays
So, fans are making the archie version of STCO now.
Time for a game, faggots. The last thing you played/watched/read is now crossed over with Sonic. How good or bad is it?
CS:GO You play as G.U.N Soldier against Eggman's robots
Sand nothing changes
because I say so
Dragon's Dogma. I can compete escort quests and traverse the map at sonic speeds. Homing attacks to the dragon's heart and knocking Harpie and Griffons out the air.
Osomatsu-san. An comedy about 8 sonic characters and their daily NEET adventures where they grow to understand each other a bit more.
Just replace the main character with Amy and the dead boyfriend with Sonic. Done.
Fallout 4. I imagine it'd be something like pic related.
Star Trek: TNG. Aw crap, it's the Dark Ages all over again.
Sonic fanfiction. Skimmed through a couple of those silly stories about Maria coming back as a Hedgehog and getting with Shadow.Nothing changes.
I still want a
sleepoverwith some anons from here.
>"Guess Eggman learned his lesson, yep.
>"And maybe I'll take another vacation somewhere..."
>inb4 300 dollarydoos
Fucksake, I'm not made of money.
This is an official character render of Amy for the fan-favourite game Sonic The Hedgehog 2006.
What is up with that pink rectangle near her foot?
heh. Creepy to think she can detach them at will like that. I always thought they were more like a permanent exoskeleton-type deal.
>how does robotisation work in that universe anyway?
i think they're permanently attached, that pic is probably a joke.
>how does robotisation work in that universe anyway?
I always just assumed it replaced both the outer and inner components of the body with robotics. It was used to stop Jules from succumbing to his wounds after all
I don't think it's ever been fully explained.
In the pre-reboot Comic continuity, Bunnie was roboticized from the waist down, had her original legs scrapped during the Dark Ages, but was still able to bear children as seen in MXYL Timeline. Meanwhile, you have Eggman (Robo-Robotnik 2.0) - Who was able to survive countless "deaths" log after his original body had perished, before being made human again by aliens.
>how does robotisation work in that universe anyway?
I assume whichever body part got hit became robotic inside and out. So removing her parts for any reason wouldn't really hurt her. After all it was made to make sure Jules didn't die and other mobians as well.
It should also be noted that Bunnie and Antoine's children were also cyborgs. Whether they were born this way, or had their limbs replaced early on in life is never touched upon.
I think Ian implied that roboticized organs preform all the same function as their fully organic counterparts. And then just left it at that for people to figure things out for theirselves.
Oh ho ho! Fascinating~
Shit, I don't have it anymore. But it's why all their colors abruptly changed at one point. Like Jaques was supposed to be yellow and white wearing white and blue and Belle was supposed to be brown with a red tank top, but Jensen or whoever colored them the same as Bunnie and Twan. For the anti FFs he made ant-Rotor's cybernetics gold but they ended up being generic grey and then for some reason he gave Miles grey hair.
Not him, but try Tracy's DA, I think he has some of the pieces there and you can see where they don't match up. Plus Jacques and Belle suddenly changed pallettes partway through the story.
This was the same colorist who made the red Chaos Emerald green even though the green one was already accounted for.
That's not hard to believe, considering the Roboticizer's original application was that of a medical device.
It was designed to heal the sick and allow the elderly to live longer, so it would make sense that roboticized organs retain the same basic functionality of the original...reproduction included.
Though, I doubt Chuck's endgame would've called for complete roboticization of every specimen, unless of course they were terminally ill, on the verge of death. Eggman was just loony.
>I doubt Chuck's endgame would've called for complete roboticization of every specimen
From what I remember, it was Robotnik who first thought of and tried the idea of "Lets see what happens when we stick an entire person in here and turn it on". But I do not remember all the details.
The cover may be fine and they might occasionally get someone that's decent to do pencils for the actual pages, but someone's gonna have to write the script and I can guarantee that the chances of them getting someone with enough sense to do it well is slim.
Not him. But since it's very short. I'm going to do it this one time.
Plus it would be kinda weird having an Eggman be the leader of something like the Zone Cops.
Would Ken Possible try to sue this project?
That's what I liked about it. An Eggman that was good but not a slackjawed faggot like Moebius Eggman in charge of the zone cops was great I thought. Plus the No-Zone was always smaller than the other zones, there's not really much to it beyond the jail.
And we're done and the gang is back. Do you guys love or hate it so far? Or is it something in between?
We don't even what the No-Zone has beyond it's police/prison duties. Going by the issue where Sonic brought in Scourge they look to have a functional, futuristic society. Plus, they also seem to have a lot of land like other a general Mobius going by the backgrounds with the Scourge breakout arc.
This is a test for the ones that are hard to read. My not work since some of the text seems kinda weird.
I can't believe I'm doing this for you guys. One more page after this.
Okay, I've done my part. If this project ever updates someone else can post if we all care enough.
This isn't even the only version fans have made.
Should we rename ourselves to SEGA general?
We sure will.
That proves absolutely nothing. That could just be some random preemptively registering domains to leech money off of SEGA by making them buy it from them if they want it.
2012/07/23 is in the fucking URL, will you just stop embarrassing yourself.
I mean, find another URL at the very least.
>Our kids are us, but with very slight changes.
>The exact children or the heroes end up as the next set of heroes, 1:1. No new characters allowed and no introduced child is allowed to not take part.
I can keep going.
Boost gameplay relies on speed and acceleration, and is geared specifically to Sonic and Sonic alone.
Adventure uses more platforming gimmicks but has versatility to accommodate multiple playstyles.
A few I've received as gifts over the years. Have a Sonic from the DC days and a Jazware Sonic with a broken arm (drew some scars and an eyepatch in him for shits and giggles). Think I've got a plushie or two somewhere.
Only figure I got myself is the Sonic Nendoroid, which happens to be my favourite. He's great fun to pose with other Nendoroids.
Too bad that there's not really a good middle ground to Sonic figures. You either get Happy Meal tier stuff or expensive as fuck statues from F4F.
I've never played Sonic Heroes, but if there's one thing I know, it's that it has a great art-style. I've always been sort of a buff for art-design, graphics, and stuff like that, and Heroes just does it for me. It takes the aesthetic of the Genesis games and makes it more realistic and natural for the Modern character-designs, something that Lost World completely fails at doing, a game that just creates environments that not only look miles more artificial than the Genesis games, but are also incredibly simplistic and generic.
I would personally want a Sonic game to follow the art-style of Heroes and improve it by having it just as detailed and natural, but also having it resemble the Genesis games even more by doing things like having even more of those iconic geometric patterns. Like, there's not just checkerboards, but there's also striped grass here and there, those patterns on the terrain in Mushroom Hill Zone could show up for a level, and those huge, colorful flowers would also be in the game, but it would all be in Heroes' amazing art-style of abstract realism. Blocky environments can also be done, like how the jungle levels in Adventure 2 handle it: They exist, but they're not as prevalent as the Genesis games, and once again, look very natural and rugged.
As for the problem of normal-looking buildings versus futuristic-looking buildings, the cities should just look like actual cities, but with the futuristic buildings towering over the modern ones. Problem solved. Also, Heroes' weird hover cars should be redesigned with the general body-shape of '80s cars (like in SA1), but with futuristic, high-tech-looking elements to them.
The realistic background animals are very strange and creepy, so I would redesign them, too, and have them in the same style as the flickies and other capsule animals. (ALA, the Sonic style.)
Comment continued in next post.
>lol we retconned the FFotG Universe to being dead because it was convenient for the narrative.
>lol the new Universe just separated itself, everything's fine!
This shit's the laziest way you could possibly reconcile an ongoing Pre-boot and the reboot coexisting.
If there are humans other than Eggman shown, they should also actually be designed like Sonic characters, something that Sonic Team has never bothered to do outside of Billy Hatcher of all things.
One last thing: The character-models shouldn’t be shiny like in Heroes. The amount of detail on the Sonic Boom models is perfect, and that’s what I’m thinking of here.
