How much renown do you guys have saved up? I started playing at the end of December and after unlocking most of the operators and attachments for one gun, I have 22k renown. Gonna be a while until I reach 50, hopefully I can do that before February arrives.
Repostan' half-serious idea
Name: Scout (or something less gay)
Ability: Has a Thatcher-esque grenade that does a 360 drone scan pinging any enemy it detects (only once per nade)
Weapon: MP5 or whatever Smoke uses
Gadgets: smoke grenades or breaching charges
High speed, low armor
How do you guys have your Mute loadout set up?
I'm currently using
>MP5K with a supressor and red dot.
I've been doing reasonably okay with it. I just run like a madman to place jammers and get drones, reinforce, get rook armor, and then start roaming from behind wherever the main fight happens.
Do you prefer Flash Hider or Compensator above Supressor? Do you use a laser on it? Do you prefer Holo or Reflex above red dot?
my dmg on Killcam
what the fuck is this shit?we both had 60-70ping but somehow he took no dmg from 3 shots
This is a good idea, sounds like something I'd definitely use. I like using the drones to scout out rooms, but the time it takes to switch back can be costly, especially if it gives them time to move from their position.
Name is Bazza
Special ability is a boomerang with razor blades that can go thru destructable surfaces.
Can use it multiple times as he has enough banter to catch the boomerang (he has chainmail gloves)after he throws it.
Has a shotgun and a rifle for main weapons
Secondary weapon is a fully sik gun that shoots bullets and shit.
Instead of a breach charge he can use a didgeridoo that he can play abo tunes on to detect black operators nearby.
speed 2 armour 2
oh, and when he gets a kill he always shouts some sick banter like:
Fuckin oath cunt!
Heaps hectic in here mate!
when he gets revived he shouts Cheers cunt.
LMG up, good to go
I roll mute similar to you except no silencer and no scope because I love the MP5s iron sights.
I usually go no silencer because I've actually found being cheeki breeki as a flanker is more useful than trying to stay 100% sneeki deeki. I WANT the enemy team to realize they've been flanked because it draws fire away from my teammates holed up in the obj room, which then allows my mates to possibly bum rush because everyone is now so focused on me. It's all in the timing though.
But for pubs with no communication, silencer is probably smarter.
>Instead of a breach charge he can use a didgeridoo that he can play abo tunes on to detect black operators nearby.
Oh captain my captain, where have my sides gone.
>Each new post-launch operator can be unlocked by playing approximately 25 hours (approx. 25,000 Renown).
>randomly get deranked to bronze 4 over night from silver 3
>everyone on my team is negative K/D and W/L
>enemy team is normally full golds with 2+ K/D and W/L
>glaz exploiters shooting me through walls every other game
>always a teammate going 1-8
>teammates always challenge attackers when they have the advantage when there's 30 seconds or left on the clock
holy shit this game is killing me
>Get shot at by Glaz
>Teammate starts slowly creeping towards the hallway
>"Don't peak it it's Glaz"
>He fucking peaks it and dies
The hostage rescue at the russian cafe. Thermite one. I'm sitting on the roof with 51 health, out of ammo on both my guns and there's a minimum of 3 enemies outside at all times
>most people seem to think Pulse is bad
>those that do use him seem to go for the UMP where you can't punch through walls as well
I've been doing shit like this the whole time. This video kind of illustrates what I've been trying to point out to people about Pulse. It honestly shouldn't be a hard concept to understand.
Tell me about rook, why does he wear the mask?
I'm just about done with TS because every other time I use it, it will refuse to pick up my mic unless I shout into it. If I go into the settings I can make it so my mic works, but everyone echos off of me.
The only fix I know is uninstalling and reinstalling the program, and even that only fixes it for the next time I open it up.
>Using the UMP as Pulse
Even in canon Pulse doesn't use the UMP.
just had the best round of my fucking life
>join a 1-2 casual match
>some clan full of children on the other team
>kill 3 without even setting charges
>bomb on second floor of bank
>fire both charges through window
>get the injure
>fire through adjacent window for a kill
>mark all 4 remaining enemies
>rappel back up
>shoot one guy across the room through his hole in the wall, headshot
>jump through window and headshot the guy at the end of the hall
>run through to main room
>get a kill while my teammates distract him outside
>reflexively murder my downed teammate because i thought he was the enemy i marked earlier
>jump over his corpse and murder the nigga hiding behind a shield on the other side
>i just 1v5'd the entire team for a clutch victory
>my team humiliates the "clan" further by shitposting as hard as possible in post-game
feels fucking GOOD
i'm installing some kind of capture software now, if this happens again i need it to be on camera
Yes, setup your THunt to only give you a map like House in classic mode and just clear it as fast as possible with whatever operator you'd prefer.
It's even better if you have a boost running, giving you around 250 renown for less than five minutes invested.
Why is Idris Elba just chilling in this hallway while a massive gunfight is happening around him?
>Playing ranked hostage
>Our whole team is alive to face 1 last guy
>He spots our feet from underneath the door, just as we're about to breach
>purposelly nitro cells the hostage
What a little pussy, caring more about his k/d than even attempting to play the game
>people who dont operate and go for k/d
you don't unless you have c4.
you could rush towards him and try melee him to make him vulnerable, but only a retarded bronze shield player would allow that to happen.
shield is op: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykFRUBm0_r0
Keep your distance.
Generally, in most situations you shouldn't be one on one with a shield anyways, the general consensus is that Blitz is the 1 Vs. 1 king and Montagne is still very capable of punishing your mistakes. If it's just you and a shield remaining, it all depends on the game mode. They can't really plant a bomb if you're on the cusp of their range on the other side of the room. Grabbing a hostage, however, the shield goes on their back which allows them to run away and with Secure they can push you right out of the point.
Either abuse a height advantage, lurking above, listening for the objective update and trying for a flank, or you can attempt brute force. Melee on a shield will knock it aside and render them useless for a second, allowing a second melee or some quick spray/buckshot, but you can easily be beaten to the punch by the shield. Alternatively, you can sprint to their sides and pop them in the ribs before they can react. This works especially well due to high latency thanks to shitty Ubisoft servers.
The best course of action will always be nitro cells though. Nitro, or multiple angles of attack to render them defenseless. Smoke's good at area denial, but the gas rarely kills, and Kapkan's traps are too obvious to catch most players. Tachanka's MG can't pierce them or anything either, basically the biggest threat to shields is friendly fire.
Regardless of what Reddit says and no matter how easy Nitro kills are, between two equally skilled players, the shield will generally win. Blitz is just absurd.
>you could rush towards him and try melee him
I wish the fucking net code would be fixed so this wouldn't work on me so much
>guy charged at me to knife me
>shield bash him
>on kill cam my shield went no where near him and he ran around me
>Dat heart beat sensor
WHY CAN'T IT LOOK LIKE THAT IN GAME?!
It happens sometimes, I have a mic and usually spam Montagne on PLANE because it's so narrow it's easy i'll either use the waypoint (Z) or tell over mic "x is here!" move to the side while teamate fucks him up
it's usefull especially if you get them to waste all their mag on you and tell your teamate to shoot during the enemies reload
>WHY CAN'T IT LOOK LIKE THAT IN GAME?!
when will you retards understand that any downscaling in graphics has to do with the console adaption.
if every game that was released were PC-exclusive we would've enjoyed some sick lightning, physics and graphics overall in todays game.
Crysis that came out 2007 to PC looks almost as good as any console port released 8 years later
>team tries to be 2pro and roam on defense
>all 4 of them always die within the first 2mins of the game and I have to solo
>save the game 2 full matches in a row
I just ragequit on the snow house map; Rook placing armorbag halfway across from the objective, everyone poking their heads out of windows from the inside get shot within seconds.
stay at the back, watch for roamers for your team, don't peek or go in first, even on attack, play slowly and think for at least 5 seconds (actually pause mentally and think) before you do stuff like go through a doorway, or breach a wall
often if you wait they'll make a mistake you can capitalise on, rather than feeling that you have to do something and then being the one being caught out
African CUT when?
>inb4 watermelon chicken dark skin theft ghetto poor negro
Wouldn't Shadowplay do the trick? Or does it take up too many resources?
Also, question for everyone:
Is it just me or does Borderless run better than actual Fullscreen? I get all sorts of horrible hiccups while in Fullscreen but Borderless fixed pretty much everything and now it runs pretty smooth
i want the royal Danish navy Frogmen
any ideas for abilities and such?
damn they look pretty rad
>throw a puddle of water that makes enemies slip and bang their head
>playing music while sieging
It's like you don't even care about Operating
Also the Shakespeare trailer is probably the best I've seen for the game
Holy fuck so it wasn't just me. I thought it was due to lag on my side. It feels pretty unfair how they can snapshot you like that and you can't even see their head peeking before it's too late.
I'm gonna try to abuse this now, excuse me
Weird question to ask here but:
Does anyone know if it's possible to change the Steam Browser that it uses in-game for Firefox or something?
I'd like to just be able to use the in-game overlay for browsing here instead of alt-tabbing
Only if you get good and play casual mode exclusively. Then you can pull off sick clutches against re-re's who can't coordinate worth shit.
Ranked mode is suffering even with a premade team (hackers, exploiters, shitty matchmaking, the works), and going solo makes it way worse.
>Menu runs at 60fps
>I alt-tab because I forgot I'm not on Borderless
>Oh well whatever
>Alt-tab back in
>Menu runs at 30fps
This. Casual is where the fun is at. Ranked is only suffering, don't do it nigga.
it's definitly more fun with a premade group.
However if you go Solo and have a "bad time" the match will be over in 20ish minutes, so it's not nearly as bad as CSGO.
also you can get some stuff done being on your own. it's exciting to 1v3 or 1v4 and then pull it off.
Do you guys use any external V-Sync solutions for this game?
I tried using the one in-game and it's abysmal, crashing the frame rate with no survivors to 30fps sometimes. And if I go V-Sync off I get horrible tearing
Besides, you end up meeting cool people as you solo queue with whom which you have good chemistry, so you add each other to friends and then operate later.
A short time later you could have a rag-tag team of operators assembled out of nowhere, it's fun
I don't know about you guys but I've found most of the community for this game is pretty cool. Almost everyone encourages you and congratulates you even if you fail, it's pretty chill
I don't understand people who have no awareness in game.
How the fuck do you not know where the fuck the enemy is when I'm spamming yellow markers and people are spotting cameras and putting red markers everywhere?
How the fuck? It's making me so goddamn mad.
>havent played payday 2 in a while
>friends want to do new stupid heist
>try meeling enemies with mouse 3 (bind it like that in rainbow to knife easier)
>try vaulting over obstacles
>confused because i am running so fast
>completly forgot that i have a flamethrower and use my revolver to hunt for headshots instead
i dont even play this game that much, i cant believe i got so used to this game mechanics and control scheme, this happened to anyone else?
also when are they going to add a squad (clan sistem) and squad logos to add in your weapons or shields?
So let me get this straight.
If you are standing up and looking straight at someone at level ground, the only part of you that is exposed is your legs, correct?
If you are crouching and looking straight at someone at level ground, the only part of you that is exposed is a tiny bit of your head, right?
So most of the time you should be standing up unless they start spraying at your legs, right?
I was playing Terrorist Hunt to test this and I got widely inaccurate results. I guess because the kill cam doesnt actually show where the AI shot you
I only just realized the existence of this fucking sewer entrance to the Bank until now.
Any of you actively use it or is it a bit shit?
I was in a match last night where the other team consistently picked the vault and never tried to defend the sewer entrance. We used it every single time and just wrecked them from behind.
Of course the team will vary the results
What are the minimum graphics settings to Operate?
What are the settings not to pick regardless of low performance cost?
My GTX 760 only has 2GB VRAM
New operator idea
ultimate: can place a sensor in a room that can inform him of tresspasers, when a enemy gets in the room a notification will pop up for him displaying on his screen "enemy detected on the secured area" mainly to counter roamers
too much of a hard counter for roamer babies? the sensor is battery based only remaining active for a certain period of time, after that the bambozler can choose between leave it alone or risk setting another pack of batteries or taking it and getting ambushed for people waiting outside the secured area
extra mechanics for the bamboozler
-twitch bot could charge it for half the time the battery does with a zap
-after detecting the enemy entering the secured area a small blink would appear on the player compass for one second revealing the enemy position
I plan on buying this for under 40$, is that a good price to buy it at? Or should I keep saving my money?
I don't foresee anything else worth buying in the near future, and I don't mind a good tactical shooter with voice comms. I tried it on the free weekend and had some pretty good fun when I found a decent group to play with.
>5v5s instead of 6v6
if teamwork: montagne
if solo: blitz
montagne is great at peeking and providing info for team. also best at baiting and making enemy team nervous: they cant look away because montagne would just snapshot them, so they have to focus on montagne while his mates flanks.
blitz has flash and breach charges and a retarded operator video
same goes for blacklisting bomb missions aswell then
half of the time my retarded mates wont fucking plant when it's obviously clear. they dont even know they're carrying the defuser
>not wanting the most heavily armored pointman
>with the game's most powerful assault rifle
>which can have the best sight (rus-reflex)
>all while not fuzing the hostage room specifically
>Play terrorist hunt because multiplayer crew isn't on
>Use drones because pubs are too retarded
>Get killed twice in spawn by roaming bots
The bots in this game are absolutely retarded. Running outside to our spawn when the rest of the team is crawling up their asses.
Just tried to play Friday night with another bro. Could not get matched into a game. When we finally would get all 10 players ready, some error would pop up and knock us out of the matchmaking.
Does anybody know if there is an issue with people playing from the same connection?
The game is actually good on ps4.
Around 75% of the time I get a team with mics and 50% of the time they all do. Playing with randoms is pretty fun even when they are toxic.
>Guy complaining about me getting killed
>I'm top of the scoreboard with 3 kills with 1 death while he has 0 kills and 2 deaths
>Say "Yea that's why you are on the bottom and I'm on the top"
>Feel like Trump sturmping Yeb Bush
>Next round he tries to line his gun up at me and I headshot him with a pistol
>He gets votekicked seconds later
>one person makes thatcher useless
>shotgun that doesn't matter because mp5k can headshot from another galaxy
>jammers make Thermite, Fuze, and breach charges in general, AKA, their entire strategy, useless
Who else here has Bandit as there favorite class?
Where do you like putting your special?
For me it is under trapdoors with razor wire
Under windows that I melee twice so the are no inclined to breach.
Lastly it is right at the side of a door and I hide the battery right behind the wall. I make it so they would have to peak out to break it.
>decide to try some terrorist hunt to chill out
>its article 5
>more article 5
>everyones doing the yellow powder college experience
>it picks randomly yes but EVERY ROUND is that fucking school
Holy shit nevermind.
Most of the people I play with/against on ranked are legit, but when people say hacking is a problem, believe them. I get a hacker once in every seven or so games, it sucks. Despite that, I keep playing ranked so that one day I can boot up the game and see a shiny diamond rank.
anon, to be honest casual mode is much, much better for fun and bantz and you should keep playing it until ranked it improved a bit.
i only play ranked because competitive matchmaking is like my drug, i'm addicted to ranking up in games like counter-strike and what not
It's just that it's almost impossible to actually rank up in this game.
Even if you get a decent team and win a few, you'll inevitably run into a hacker or a server issue that just undoes your work, since losing rank is way easier than gaining it.
Definitely agree with this. I keep getting matched with fuckers who don't listen to communication and just get themselves killed constantly. I win maybe one or two matches and then have a losing streak of 3-4 games.
My rank is utter shit now because of it
I just dealt with it and switched over.
It mattered less than I thought it would.
It's actually kind of more convenient IMO because it doesn't automatically restore your lean and aim after reloading.
>Hyped every time I unlock a new operator I want
>Immediately retreat back to my safe zone of Rook/Thermite/Shield users
Doesn't help that I feel like my team is at a severe disadvantage without Rook and half the time nobody wants to take him, the shield user thing is just because I'm bad.
It's mostly because any headshots are instant kills and most kills that aren't headshots are instant anyway.
Plus you could just put another bullet in them since they can't move for 3-5 seconds after getting downed
>revive others from range
>75 hp revive
what more do you want.
fuck my shit up
Yes, in all extract hostage missions you should always clear the entire map first, then slowly make your way to the extraction. Most deaths are from people running out into the street and getting mowed down by a couple guys standing by cars. I usually throw smokes or flashbangs if I have any left in the final stretch.
I hate playing against cheesing faggots. Why can't I just have fun 5v5 matches where the team with the best teamwork wins.
Nah, theres gotta be that one fag that just camps a spawn every damn time.
Then if I somehow manage to find a way into a building, a 16 year old CS:GO-prodigy headshots me in a duel and teabags me.
I'm getting older but I'd still like to have fun playing these games :/
I don't know what to tell you other than git gud. Defenders shooting from the windows is a valid tactic that's easily punished, especially if there is a Glaz that makes sure the coast is clear first.
>behind cover, returning fire
>enemy catches me in the shoulder
>use stim pistol to get back to 75 hp, hold ctrl so my head doesnt stick back out
>(almost) good as new
doc is alright. plus, wounded teammates can come to you and you can shoot their legs + stim pistol for a free boost to 75 hp
>Then if I somehow manage to find a way into a building, a 16 year old CS:GO-prodigy headshots me in a duel and teabags me.
Git gud. Seriously, don't fucking whine that someone had better aim that you, and insist the only way they could have gotten a headshot was if they were a no life.
People like you are fucking pathetic
Well, you gotta do it like the pro gamers who get older do it:
If you can no longer out-react, you gotta out-play.
Get sneaky, take unexpected paths, flank enemies whenever possible.
Play a roamer on defense. It's shocking how rarely people bother to sweep out-of-way rooms, or even check behind themselves every now and then.
Come up with pocket strats.
Abuse drones and indirect fire. There is no method more foolproof for fucking up the concentration of spastic kids than constant spam of "YOU HAVE BEEN SPOTTED". And when they're busy trying to hit the drone, you switch to a gun with good penetration and nail them through the wall/floor/ceiling. Or better yet, your friends do it for you. Bonus points for using twitch's shock drone, because that shit triggers campers like nothing else. Also, pro tip: you don't have to use your drone-phase drone: just leave it in spawn and then pick it up when you spawn in, to have two drones available. (yes you can do that. This is also good for throwing drones through windows if you miss the first time.)
>IQs special isn't a badass VR HUD like pic related
I object to this, ubisoft!
In this video, the game displayed my friend prone for the final killcam.
In reality, he was running on foot.
Pretty funny, he just slithers up to the last person and bites their foot.
In case you can't tell what happened here, the Doc on our team pulled out his pistol and shot our downed teammate.
He thought the sidearm was the revive pistol.
it doesnt do that from the comfort of the other side of the map and it sure doesnt shoot jaeger traps on the other side of a wall you want to throw a grenade in
also please make sense of your gun shooting a mute/carbattery blocking a reinforced exterior wall from being thermited.
fuck i dont know why i bother talking to retards.
>Montagne has a giant shield, flashbangs, and a fucking magnum
>nobody picks him
He's free kills. If you use him to breach windows he's invincible.
>all doors are castle'd, no ash, but two walls are reinforced and we have a thermite
>thermite has no mic
>he fucks off when we're clear and the only thing between us and winning is a reinforced wall and 2 doorcamping defenders
>a roamer takes him out seconds after he leaves
>send him an angry message, it was the fifth round and we had done this exact procedure the round before, and with two button presses we could have won the game
I fucking hate people who can't fucking understand what spotting a reinforced wall means.
there's literally only one thing to do to them.
>shoot shotgun pellets directly at ash's face
>only reduced half health
>blood everywhere on the wall behind her
>she shoots me with a 9mm bullet in my helmet
>I died insantly
Nice fucking meme indeed
>punch hole in window and wait
>see someones repel cable
>wait for them to get into sight
>start shooting before they see me
>they return fire and somehow get the kill
Seriously, what the fuck. I had the drop on them and sprayed a good amount of bullets into them before they even opened fire
Put jammers under doors and at the top of stairs to stop enemies from jumping over them.
Get castle to barricade a window, and then jam the window. The enemy will have to break it down unless they have ash/thatcher.
Jam important barricaded walls too
You should put your Jammers at the reinforced walls so that thermite can't blow through them. Don't forget that your jammers can get taken out buy Thacther's emp grenade. Oh! This is pretty situational but you can prevent Blitz from flashing with a jammer
That's where most of my kills come from. I throw a Nokia taped to a bomb and the bomb propels the Nokia with such force it kills people. Nitro Cells are so underused I've noticed.
Should I prioritise Castle walls over any other walls with a jammer providing Castle doesn't place them in a retarded spot?
I tend to do that, but I need to get a sense for the distance the jammer works. The red circle seems almost misleading, I place a jammer down and a breach goes off real close to it.
>blah blah blah im rook my armor can stop such and such a calibre, its a pretty hefty shot
>get hit in the chest with a silenced peashooter p90 carrying a round that is absolutely pitiful by comparison to a big fucking magnum round, with me at 3.5 armor or whatever the green adds
>tfw rook's useless since you'll get 1 headshot killed anyway
might as well go for the classes with good mobilty
So we're not really top secret anti territory soldiers? Seems we'd be supplied better.
Speaking of which, a lot of the gear they give us seems gimmicky, not one comes off as profession, what's with that?
One issue is that they make a big deal about one, if not two of the operators being WOAH IM THE ARMOR GUY AND I HAVE BIG ARMOR
Rook is even the armor specialist who upgrades everyone. His video shows him taking a heavy shot to the chest, doesn't hurt him shit.
Ingame, a whiffy little pellet to the chest will probably do 25 damage.
To be fair videos like that are more for cinematic purposes. It gets the point across that Rook upgrades your armor; god fucking knows how it does so since stats are meaningless.
All it does, from what I hear, is up your chance to go into the revivable state and not die instantly. Providing what downed you wasn't a headshot.
But you have a point, it is for cinematic purpose. Doc doesn't do jack shit, Sledge bashes a wall like 20 times, Mute stands there and WAY overexagerrates his unique jammer ability, etc. I'm yet to see a Fuze's subgrenade barrage kill something that wasn't the hostage.
>teammate kills hostage TWICE with fuze's grenades
people die way too much for him to be viable in every game like rook/bandit/mute etc, i'd play him if they didin't make the p90 as inaccurate as humanly possible in a game where headshots are everything, if they made his pistol rounds heal 25 or something as well he'd be viable
>implying ranked means shit with it's current broken system
i'm 2 W/L and 1.8 K/D and i've been bronze 1 ever since I got dropped from silver after a single night of not playing
How do you guys feel Montagne is more effective?
the pistol or the magnum? I mean, considering you should always go for the pop headshot when possible, not body shots or spamming
more bullet, more damage per magazine, more chances to headshot when spraying.
you only pick the magnum if you're edgy as fuck and wanna look like a cool frenchman, which is a bit of an oxymoron.
I could pick up and throw the grenade over and over again. It would either float or roll on the floor for a while without exploding
if they make the game playable it'll have a small playerbase for a couple of months tops, either way it's gonna be dead before they're even halfway through done releasing the new operators
if the division turns out to somehow not be complete shit it'll be dropped almost instantly
you shall not pass
You're delusional if you think that game was average
>5 hour story
>literally everything in the game is a grind
Yeah, no. That was utter shit. And this is coming from someone who put in a good amount time due to my raid group and no other games.
The Division looks interesting if anything. It does look a lot like Destiny, but we won't know for sure until the beta/release.
> You're delusional if you think that game was average
Ok, it was less than average. If it wasn't made by AAA studio with huge budget on advertising, people would forget it even faster.
>tfw Thermite blows through the reinforced trapdoor above your head
>tfw you instantly throw your nitro cell back up through the hole, detonating it mid air
tfw double kill
>Ok, it was less than average
Listen, Destiny was an absolute shit game. I'd rather go play Battlefield pre-patch and stare at the menu than go back to that shitfest of a game
>Destiny launches and looks pretty damn cool
>week in and zero fucking content
>Bungo actually expected us to do strikes over and over and over until we eventually shove a 12 gauge in our mouths to end this pain
If Destiny launched like it was intended (The Taken King DLC and some others I think) then it would have been a pretty decent game. It would still lack longevity in the content department, however.
>get a headshot
Feels like getting a random crit in tf2 desu
Montagne's, by far.
The way it's composed and the music accompanying it just give off this aura of majesty and heroism that no other operator video tops in my opinion
kapkan's has great music and he's fun to hear. Also that bullet play in his hand's just fun to watch.
Bandit has a good story to hear and the look in his eyes when he gets a promotion makes it golden
On a more serious note, Montagne is really eerie considering it was done/being done before Bataclan, then events in the attack mirrored the character. Watch his video again, with pic related in mind.
>Panicked operators/policemen screaming, chaos ensuing
>Montagne yells "Restez derrière moi!" [Stay behind me!]
>Music swells and they show the fucking badass posing.
