gwyndolin is male!
also if green is dusk, who is blue?
One coop a day keep the hollow away
>not even the mighty Anor Londo dared to provoke it's ire
>blind Gough cripples him in one shot
Imagine being not only bad at video games but also whining about it
>WOOOOW MAGIC IS TOO EASY
>WOOOOW HOW WAS I SUPPOSED TO KNOW THAT
>WOOOOW IT TAKES SO LONG TO KILL THESE GUYS WITH MY SHIT UNUPGRADED WEAPONS
I wonder if Anor Londo is still a thing in that timeline. Maybe he decided to just shoot him because it's not like there's an anor londo to destroy anymore, just gwyndolin sitting next to her dads tomb.
Maybe they were never able to get close enough to Kalameet before? Iunno.
That scene where Ghough shoots him down is fuckin rad though regardless.
>EXPLORATION IS HARD
Seriously, just fucking-
Good god, look around.
magic is indeed too easy
the game is known for being cryptic
he had a +10 weapon that is the highest a new player will have by the time he reaches anor londo and unless he's going for a black knight weapon cheese, he won't be dealing much damage to bosses. Quelaag is a prime example, she has a shit ton of HP and you have a +5, +7 weapon at best when you get to her.
You die when you don't know what you are doing. But I fail to see a bad thing in that.
At least on DS1 I feel like I have mastered PvE, I can complete the game in 1-3 deaths.
But on DS2 every once in a while I get gangraped or stunchained to death.
It is when their attacks overlap and go through each other, but hit you. DaS2 did a better job at multiple enemies than DaS1 did.
O&S isn't a hard fight, it's tiresome because you just backpedal all the time and kite them around, waiting for a chance to hit one of them. Unless pikachu does one of his glitched charge attacks, that was and always will be complete bullshit.
>Use smelter sword 2hr2
>Enemy tries to backstep it
>Gets knocked flat for 900
Post things you love about weapons
Hoping DS3 has a cool transformation for the Dragon covenant
Because you have no way of knowing what will happen next. Souls games usually reward the obervant and patient player while the guy who rushes straigt into everything gets murdered. The pressure plate traps in Sen's Funhouse are a good example - if you are observant, you'll see them. But the dogs at the capra demon? That is bullshit.
I also don't see how you can be gangraped to death, considering that most enemies that appear in groups are slow to attack and have huge recovery windows. You can literally poke the Royal swordsman in the Bastille do death if you use a spear and funnel them through the door. Also Alluring Skulls are a thing and allow you to deal with multiple enemies easily.
Iron Keep with the archers
Most of the DLC's
Anything with archers
Those things will fuck you up. Also almost all of my characters are low level twinks.
And now I'm getting fucking mad, you can't kill anyone with half a brain if you use a halberd.
I'm not a noob, I know how to deal with them, it's just if the archer gets a hit on you there is a big chance that you are dead when there is one of them "slowly waddeling" to you. They are fucking Sonic on meth.
>big chance that you are dead when there is one of them
Again git gud, the archer literally can't hit you if you stand behind either the first or second buttress before the bridge, he won't move to snipe you at an angle either.
This is coming from someone that regularly makes twins and who likes farming the area.
The first and second buttress are safe zones
Iron Keep is one of the "best" areas of DS2 scholar because shit players constantly bitch about enemy gangrapes and archers that they can totally deal with easily.
Only if you are behind the third of fourth butress does it become an issue.
Again I don't care at all about what you have to say because you are either a liar or someone that hasn't tested that shit for themselves.
Iron Keep pre smelter has 1 1v2 enemy encounter that can turn into a 1v1 if the AI does strange things and the archers are never an issue, anyone who says otherwise is memeing or just retarded, take your pick because you are in the "every boss is a dude in armor" crowd of flat out being wrong
Incredibly easy to parry, except for the unparryable attacks ofc.
Insane stam drain for the damage it does.
Horrible onehanded attack tracking/hitbox width.
Recovery time that make me want to rip my eyes out.
The scythe moveset is honestly better, except in tight corridors.
The sweeping second 1hr1 is nice.
Yeah. If you're using it 1h, you're using the 1hWD and parry fishing.
2h moveset is where it shines. Learn to cancel recovery time by r1ing after an attack and immediately rolling, and it becomes far more usable.
>cancel recovery time by r1ing after an attack and immediately rolling
Fuck me, 300h on DS2 and only now I know that.
It seems that I can't pull it of with onehanded attacks, which weapons can you do that trick with?
>20 minutes in and he's said that the level design in DaS2 and to a lesser extent post lordvessal DaS1 are really poor and that the introduction of lifegems is bad for the game
Truly those who love DaS are on suicide watch.
works with any weapon, but the benefit differs
>200 for variety and fun
No at 200 everyone is just wearing the exact same shit because there's no specialization. Like how high SL PvP in the other games was the same; everyone wearing the same high defense armour and not caring about its weight
It works on 1hr1s. It takes a little bit of timing.
Anything you can cancel the animation of, which is most weapons.
I don't think it works on r2s.
Here's a normal 1hr1 and a recovery time canceled 1hr1.
>poke based moveset
Only exists on the syan's halberd, and the syan's halberd is basically a spear for the damage it does.
The second thrust 1hr1 isn't very good. It has no tracking and is just a lance thrust
The scythe's second slash 1hr1 has a very large arc and can hit people moving around you.
There is no point lying about the vid m8.
He says that post lordvessel content is worse than anything in DaS2 and lifegems are necessary for the changes they made to encounters.
>are necessary for the changes they made to encounters
You mean those same encounters where he says the game does an absolute shit job at explaining how you should be tackling them? Those encounters that he says he can't himself even say whether they're better or worse in DaS2 because of something as simple as framerate? (really has this dude not heard of DSfix)
The scythe's 2h moveset is the shittiest part, the 1h is still pretty shit though with serious tracking problems. Still has the worst sweetspots too of any weapon not called Scythes/Greataxe
Do yourself a favour and try out some ultra weapons and powerstancing, little estoc shitter.
why is controlling ultra greatswords so hard in DS2.
Moving just a little while you're swinging makes your swing fuck up but so many of them only have an overhead swing as their standard attack that I wind up missing because the enemy moved two inches to the left.
If you're powerstancing and do any attack and immediately, as in 3 frames lenience, hold Y / Triangle, your attack animation will come out something like 15% faster.
It's really rather difficult to do consistently and doesn't have much application. Far harder to do than what I'm saying.
>Doing Heide Lancer character
>Iron Mask Knight falls off the cliff
As whiny as that dude is, I agree with him on the fact that it would have made for a far more interesting mechanic if Ornsteins lightning hitting Smough had buffed him instead of just flying through.
Also magic is OP as fuck, but he complains about that shit oh so much
>blown the fuck out so hard he has to resort to buzzwords
Actually ultra greatswords are the few weapons that don't fuck up if you move, you can be running forwards, already have hit R1 and still hit 180 degrees behind you. It's just practice, though rotating the camera and pushing forward slightly will help you aim.
You know you don't do a very good job of representing DaS2 as an actually decent game if for every critcism against it you go "LEL DASTARDS"
do you actually just hate DaS2 or something and falseflag or some shit? It's pretty autistic either way.
>enemy goes to flee behind mobs
>eventually wins after exhausting all my healing items and dragging me clear from the start of the area nearly to the fog gate and killing almost every enemy mob on the way
>Sunbroing with a friend
>same nigger invades
>same thing happens after he gets nearly one hit
>drop friend Seed of a Tree of Giants
>Uses it and he gets killed in seconds to a big fucker he was cowering behind
I started carrying 5 Seeds on my person now and use them whenever a coward runs away to heal. Its hilarious to watch them panic when that huge enemy is suddenly not on their side anymore.
IS FUCKING EVERYONE HOOKED ON CE IN DS1 OR SOMETHING
I DARE TO NOT BELIEVE THIS MANY PEOPLE CAN TWINK ABSURDLY HARD LIKE THIS
WHATS THE FUN EVEN IN KILLING IN 1 HIT
Wear sensible and fashionable armour that would let you move around and protect you in real life instead of trying to make everything skimpy
also don't become skimpy because man shoulders
Halberds and spears because they where very efficient weapons lances would not be good without a horse and twinblades are for those fancy pants royals to show off with in parades
Did people actually do that with twinblades because people liked to show off back then or am i just uneducated and retarded
I'm just getting fucked. Santiers is apparently garbage for pve and I haven't played for a while. I just get got by her fuckin spells as I'm trying to kill off her shit summons
powerstanced spears waifu with drangleic set and falconer helm was my first run
Why's armor so damn shiny in DaS2? It was pretty shiny in 1 too but I feel like they really cranked it up.
Shiny armor is lame and makes it look like decoration rather than functional armor.
It's been a while, but here's 2.0.
Got rid of the major changes and implemented a mini-FAQ since there's not been any updates nor are there likely to be any further ones.
Made enough minor tweaks on 2.0 that I could've probably posted four updates alone.
You see something you don't understand or think is wrong, ask. Assuming it isn't in the FAQ.
so if i get this right
enter dragons and the first flame
gwyn decides to beat the dragons but the first flame starts losing power
therefore he decides to go rekindle it, in kindling it he basically makes his powerful soul its new fuel
events of das1 have the chosen undead rise, visit anor londo and finally go to the kiln of the first flame where he can either link it (so the cycle repeats) or let it end so a new age can begin (canon ending which then links with das2)
now where does das2 start? the age of gods is gone, Vendrick creates a kingdom and Nashandra appears and tells him to steal something from the giants (what?) while this is happening the kingdom becomes accursed by the undead curse and shit starts hitting the fan. the first flame is still dwindling and vendrick refuses to kindle it. he locks the throne (what's the power of the throne?) and leaves because nashandra turns out to be a daughter of manus. then the events in das2 happen, you manage to open the throne and after killing nashandra you get the choice to enter the throne and link the fire again or you can leave it and let it be extinguished
is that about right? as you can see i am a extremely stupid individual and struggle when stuff isn't told to me directly
>This game is amazing, the combat system is great. I've played lot of hours with XBox 360 version of it and very glad to see it on PC. Dragon's Dogma rules, Dark Souls sucks.
why is this guy so butt blasted? Didn't he sperg out back when DS2 was released as well?
>make new character
>get some red orbs in begin area
>literally all 4 of them are people who summon 3 other people to kill me or they already have 3 people out and are just waiting
Why do you even play this fucking game if that is all you do?
Yes. Element infusions are why the Lost Sinner's Sword does so much batshit damage, the split spread is gigantic.
Sin removes scaling and any bonuses from rings or buffs.
Drakekeeper's Greataxe belongs on that row. It can definitely hold its own against the bandit knife, butcher's axe, red iron, claymore.
It is also pretty clearly above the row directly below it, with things like darkdrift, curved nil, etc.
Its range and moveset are the best and it doesn't have that sweet spot anymore.
Ivory King also definitely deserves it. Killing people in two~three hits, best range on an ultra, extra damage laser that makes spacing against it difficult, etc.
I guess it doesn't take the recently discovered stance switching and quick attacking into acount. That shit shuffled the meta big time.
Also multihit weapons need to go higher.
Their greatest strength is that everyone will try to parry you, giving you a free counterhit jumping attack.
Onehanded lances do 800 dmg with one hit..
Could've fooled me with some of the matches I get
It doesn't quite need a specific build. The scaling is pretty poor when infused, the rings are the big thing.
For invasions, I'd go with base str/dex to wield it, and a decent amount of faith for sunlight blade. Lightning makes it even deadlier in certain areas.
For the arena, any infusion will work. I'd recommend using one element but buffing it with a different one, so they swap their rings wrong.
RoBFlynn. 12 weight is lenient.
You're going to be two-shotting people, landing one 2hr1 will end a fight most of the time.
Significantly more. My 150 lightning LSS blueberry has yet to meet a person that survives a RoBFlynn SLB 2hr1-2hr1 combo.
>get summoned for the Pursuer fight
>kill host and his buddy with the ballista
It's stance/moveset switching during combos.
You can combo onehanded attacks into twohanded attacks and vice versa.
Or do a fast parry after attacking with twohanded halberds or lances etc.
Well, why not? Again, 10+ sin removes any bonus you get from rings and scaling and sacred oath.
That's something like 200+ AR.
Chaos Rapier has nice scaling, including the highest fire scaling in the game at 70%.
You slap charcoal resin on it and it deals pretty great damage. It does have mildly poor range though.
Don't infuse it, it makes it worse.
Ricard's has more pure dex scaling than most other rapiers have combined str and dex scaling, and then some.
100%, though it's got some bug/feature where it has 50% scaling at +0 and ramps up to 100%, like other 100% dex scaling weapons.
The R2 isn't why it's up there, it's irrelevant.
It can reach some pretty crazy AR. 160 base, +200 at 99 dex, + 150 from RoBSoFlynn for 510. 465 at 50 dex.
I always chuckle when I see someone named that.
>Well, why not?
Because of webm
What are the usual best Dark-infused, or just Dark Weapon options? I know Dark/Reasonant Weapon builds are disgustingly common, but I figured I'd pick something if I was going Hex on my next build anyway. I know the sickle used to be kinda nice in vanilla
Can with CE but might get banned for it
Use that next time if you care about the censoring
Might as well be on those nose about it if I'm making a twink
Man, how many times do you want me to repeat this? That damage isn't even special for the Lost Sinner's Sword.
Your sin is negating your ring bonuses. The negative sin scaling doesn't go below the weapon's base AR, this is why it's usable with sin.
But it's just better without.
You get me yet?
It'd be like using magic weapon instead of crystal magic weapon. Better than nothing, but still.
Flame Weapon got some specific nerfs a long while back.
You haven't played for a long while, have you?
There aren't many options that are better than pure physical anymore.
Resonant Weapon is complete trash now. Dark Weapon is still the best buff in terms of duration scaling, but element defense is understood and common now.
You go full dark, you're going to get +3 Dark Quartz Ring'd.
The other axes have been buffed multiple times and have surpassed the Silverblack Sickle. Even the Hand Axe. Thing's got 270 base damage at +10 now.
Sacred Chime and Crypt Blacksword are still good infused. Silverblack Spear was untouched, but it's still better with resin.
Scholar of the First Sin added two edgy Dark weapons, but they have hollowing scaling like the dark pyromancy flame.
>Might as well be on those nose about it if I'm making a twink
Just embrace it and have fun.
pretty sure Oolacile is before the Curse of undeath hit. Like, waaaay before. I mean, considering how oolacile changed in between that time and when you visit it as Darkroot forest, even enough time for Artorias to get a memorial that seemingly many people have visited or some shit
So I could swear there was a promo screenshot of Majula, like, the cliffside right after you exit the cave, that featured some kind of makeshift memorial with sword markers
Actually, nevermind, I found it- but was this ever a thing? I dont recall this being the bonfire icon, is it?
So I just picked up DaS 2 for xmas but haven't had a chance to do a ton since I've been traveling for work a lot. I'm doing a hex build and trying to farm the silverback sickle (absolute pain in the ass) and I think my next step is to go through aldia's because I finished the crypt and can't fight off the king since I don't have the giant souls.
anyway is it just more pushing through these areas? I haven't accessed DLC yet (figured I would after completing main story), but it's getting a bit repetitive
what do you define as "pushing through" though? I mean, after Crypt there's at least 3 more areas, (the second and third being very short, second is even entirely skippable via a shortcut) and then its giant soul farming time if you want Vendrick's crown, otherwise you go for the final boss, or do the DLC
You are pretty much at last portion of the base game then. For the base game you have Aldias keep + Dragon place then giant memories and your done. You can do all of that in like 2-3 hours, after thats its kill Vendric, and go to the throne.
If you have the 3 DLC keys then getting to the DLC after getting the Ashen Mist Heart is a good point (its a mandatory item can't miss it) because
a) You need said heart to access one of the bosses in one of the DLCs
b) The DLCs are designed for lategame characters
ah awesome thanks guys. i'm going to get through the main story and then head for dlc afterwards.
also I'm trash at pvp ;_; there was one person who just kept throwing equipment degrading potions at me and casting that spell and rolling away from me to the point where all my stuff broke. horribly annoying but hilarious at the same time someone was so good at that
what are other good noob pvp builds? I was pretty good pvp in dark souls, but haven't really found anything so far that seems like a good area to practice that sort of thing...like remember artorias' area in the DLC? or getting the knight armor right before S&O and pretending to be one of the enemies when people would invade you?
looking through the DaS2 website, jesus the missed potential still hurts.
what do you suppose this area for ants is supposed to be? It seems like it could be one of the memories, but who the fuck can tell its so tiny
>there was one person who just kept throwing equipment degrading potions at me and casting that spell and rolling away from me to the point where all my stuff broke.
shitters gonna shit.
you counter acid by taking you shit off quick and then mocking them because they cant break it anymore
bear armor, someone asked me for it the other day. replaces hard leather set, only works if you're in human form
White Ring makes you look like a white phantom, even if your human/invader/whatever
Ring of the Living removes all phatom-y effects, you can use it to pretend to be some of the enemies
It's generally in the 850~900 range without counter damage. With, it's around the 1000~1100 range.
Counter damage in Amana? Well. Target Destroyed.
Note that of course like other element weapons, element defense is gonna severely cut that.
But even against dark builds, it's still gonna do 800+ on counter hits.
No, jumping should be switched to the X button and a dedicated stat for acrobatics should be introduced. At 30 acrobatics you should be able to double jump, and at fifty you should be able to air boost. The meta would be trying to fall on your opponent for a plunging attack.
That webm was with 18 str, 25 dex, 51 faith. Just flynn's ring, no RoB, no Sacred Oath. You can do better.
Look at this hotshot and his burr and ring, still taking this level of damage.
It's okay for you. It really doesn't have significant scaling.
But you have to put up with the vertical moveset.
this is too much autism for one man to handle
hitler should have gone after waifufags
How is my edgelord knight cosplay anor londo invader? Will I get fucked for not being able to fast roll?
Someone has already used this summon sign.
Someone has already used this summon sign.

>helping guy get to twin dragonriders

Thinking about buying DS2: SOtFS - Is it worth the shekels?
From what I've read, people get softbanned for using DSFix (Possibly also other mods), while DS1 is fine with the mod.
Also the hitbox thing is a big nono for me, tough overall I like the game possibly even more than DS1 (Have played the pirated thing)
Are there some big things around that should keep me away from this game?
That's funny actually.
Also get some proper gear when using the sanctum mace.
>get to end of the game put on agape ring
>now lost all motivation to do dlcs or ng+
im free lads back to das1
Oh, then in that case, absolutely. DS2 gets a bit of a bad rap, and it's kind of a shock coming off of DS1, but it's a fantastic game in its own right. Just be prepared to be a bit frustrated at certain areas.
Nah its a good game most of the shit people whine about have been fixed or were never nearly as large of an issue as people make it out to be
Things like DSfix aren't even that necessary because DS2 is a pretty good port unlike DS1
Just don't go in expecting DS1:2.0, the gameplay is pretty different despite being in the same series
>Covenant of Champions
>Complains about difficulty
Why haven't you done a total CoC run yet? It's fun and tense. You'll burn through all your lifegems and play desperately.
All the npc invaders will give you lots of awestones.
This guy, fume knight, and smelter demon are really the only bosses I have had some trouble on.
>I do hope you spent some of those on getting to him and that's not your max
Yeah the knights before hit me.
>Really though why you in champions?
>Sinh slumbering dragon
Wow I sure do love not being able to fucking see because this dickheads wings are in the way.
I also not being able to see when he flies up because angling the camera up just gives you a screen taken up by 90% of your character
M+KB is totally doable in DS2, there is a setting that you'll want to turn off in the menu, which disables the delay at the cost of shortening your window for double-clicking. I can't remember exactly which setting that is, though...
Was never broken to begin with, there is a setting in the options thats "disable double clicking", the only issue is that it defaults to OFF while saying its ON so you need to flip it every time you reboot the game, but that takes like 10 seconds at most per restart so its not a big deal
Default keybindings are kinda ass tho but you can just rebind them
Stay pleb, faggot. Enjoy your objectively inferior hardware and the limitations that come with it.
I respecced my build and started buffing my lightning LSS and it's dealing 880 a hit. That's a 140 damage increase.
SL300something is the highest I'v gotten and thats like NG+4 or some shit
The way leveling costs scale is kinda odd, there is a massive spike around 200, and then it evens out at around 300k souls per level with an increase of around 10k per levelup.
I have a character with over 400 hours on vanilla, who farmed giant lord for quite a long time, and PvP'd back when you could get millions of souls from hosts and invaders.
It takes a really LONG time to get anywhere past SL300.
Yea, I have a similar chracter, but I never did PvP on him, SL365.
I at one point planned on farming giant lord to max him but realized how ridiculously long itd take withotu help engine so I gave up
No, it's the worst in the series. Does 1 durability damage per tick. 6 durability damage total. 2 casts. 1 scroll per NG.
Its only use is for maybe fucking with people you suspect are using crystal weapons, but how would you ever tell?
>invade some dude at sens
>cant find him so i go towards the boss
>crossbow balderbro spots him on the broken bridge
>he falls down for the loot
>meanwhile i go to the bridge
>try to predict when he's going to pass under
>actually fucking hit him with the plunging attack
>runs away and heals
>try to get a wakeup BF, but shields it with dragoncrest
>notice the giant throwing his pot on the first spot
>tries to estus, giant gets him and stuns him with the fire
>tfw nobody co-oping in my level range at Ivory or Brume
What the shit, what is the recommended SM for these areas? I'm at 1.7M and haven't seen a single sign since I've been here. I just want my fucking Ivory greatsword REEEE
The only real bullshit claims there is that lightning does go through fatass, when it really shouldn't, and that flying enemies fall to their death. I'll give him those two points.
Everything else is self-inflicted.
The gauntlets sure can family
>finishing crown of the sunken king right now
shit but at least the level design actually uses shortcuts, doesn't stop them frfrom putting bonfires behind fucking illusionary walls all the time
>being a dragonbro on the iron keep bridge
>all those casters with buffs already applied everywhere
>trying to nuke you in the first second you spawn
The hilarious part is that simply dodging the moment you spawn kills their plan entirely and allows you to wail on them without them having any say in it
>waaah why does hitting a plate-armored enemy with an edged weapon deal shit damage
This is just like that autist who complained the game didn't explain anything, as he walked over every message in the intro.
Sunken King is easily the worst DLC in Dark Souls history. Not that it's horrible or anything but it's not nearly as good as all the other DLCs and it repeats some retarded mistakes that were done in the main game.
SL100-135 PS3 FC

hopefully some of the other communities will be joining also, so if you /dsg/ players would like to participate feel free to join in. it will be broadcast on twitch and i'm sure it will be easy enough for you to locate.
feel free to drop by
Is infusing still the meme in this DaS2? I'm doing literally no fucking damage with a +10 Drakekeeper's straight sword with 30/30 STR/DEX.
How do I get some actual damage out of this fucker?
reading the DaS2 cheat engine table's FAQ, and it says you can get banned for-
>Picking up items that you shouldn’t have at your current progression stage (e.g. Gear and items past Shrine of Winter without opening it)
But that could legitimately happen if someone who got really far at a low SM got those items and dropped them for someone in co-op/PvP, couldn't it?
Ring of Blades +2, Flynn's Ring, Sacred Oath. One, two, or three.
C/C weapons are 50% STR, 25% DEX, so you'd get twice as much out of STR.
Or, you know, don't use a slash weapon with no counter strength against slash resistant enemies?
Last time I tried to join a Painted World FC, I got invaded by a hacker that gave me the whole business so I had to find an earlier save.
Yeah, except the 50 STR bit. STR and DEX softcap at 40, INT and FAI at 50. Dark caps at 30/30, Fire caps at 60 total int or fai.
50% scaling means at 99 STR, which is 200 STR ATK, you'll have +100 scaling. 25% means +50.
Or +70 at 40 STR.
No base damage multipliers in this game.
Hey guys, can I get some help with a very rough Crypt Blacksword build I have?
I need some help filling in the blanks, also I have the following questions.
Flynn's with a 24wgt weapon is retarded, isn't it?
What are some good hexes to grab?
Is it worth putting 40 points to have the one-handed moveset? The 1hr1 of the weapon seems really really good.
Fyi when DaS3 is out, these kind of fuckheads will make thread quality by a solid 95% less endurable, insecure NEETS and console shillers are both deep rooted cancer
Go 40 str. One handed gives you more attack options.
I would recommend at least 82 poise for hyper armor against 20 poise weapons like katanas. Forget about flynn, go chloranthy for better stam recovery. Take giants ring, third dragon. Last should be clear bluestone if you like spells, but if you run buffs dont worry about it.
It's not, it's grabbing his save data instead, I logged him out, myself back in, and restarted my computer, and it's still only finding his save data. I might have the file and just not be finding it, is there someway to manually check a save file?
i dont see why people are mad about this, other than the broken window and demon ambush (because if by now you haven’t learned to take it slow and pay attention, you’re retard), he’s right. and to the guys moaning about the unupgraded weapon, he never complained about the damage, only the necessary waiting game if you’re melee. i wholeheartedly agree on the bonfire-map design issue. his initial statement does shock a bit, considering anor londo is one of the best if not the best area in both dark souls, but he says it had the potential to be much better, not that it’s shit.
>DeS DaS console exclusive until re-release for DaS2 hype
>DaS2 the worst game given to the PC
>back to consoles for BB
>all games designed for console controllers
>KB+M is objectively inferior
We all know who the real trash here is
>holding the games back
Oh, is that why Dark Souls 2 looked and played bad? Because there was a console release?
You'd think the independently developed DX11 re-release would've look be-... oh...
Holy fucking shit this place is the most anti-fun bullshit I've ever experienced out of any of the Souls games, what a fucking shithole. The most shitty bland unfun fucking level design, and every single enemy is designed to be the most fucking infuriatingly annoying bullshit to deal with, with their god damn retarded damage, poise and fucking tracking.
Even fucking defiled chalice dungeons weren't this anti fun, holy fucking shit this might be literally my least favourite area in any of the games.
Do these ones drop the hammer? Killed like twenty of them and nothing yet
yeah, all these smelter warriors drop it, no matter if they wield the club or the mace. but it’s like super rare. make sure you only use the best piece of item discovery equipment (CGSR+2) as it evens out instead of stacking
Ok, so I want to get into Souls, where do I start? Demon's Souls on PS3? Or can I skip to Dark Souls 2: Prepare To Die Edition on mustard race? Does the story connect with other games?
If you have a ps then play demon's souls first
if not, start with either ds1 or 2 but note that they are fairly different and whichever you play first (including demon's, I guess) will impact your opinion on the others to a degree
the stories aren't really connected much but DaS2 borrows a lot from the first
>10 minutes in gargoyles area
>still no nodes
steamworks is great just great
You've made an excellent choice sir. If you'd like tips on unique weapon acquisitions that are spoiler free, feel free to ask. I have a few personal favorites that most new players just outright never find without using a guide.
>Crown of the Sunken king
I can't fucking believe I believed people when they said the DLC was better than the base game.
>Hey how about you fight Havel and two other normal NPCs who would just be invaders, but we've inflated their health so they're a bossfight. Oh and one of them is an archer so enjoy getting knocked on your ass while you're trying to fight the two enemies who're on you
>Oh and there's a shitload of petrification statues around
>Get a fucking flower skirt at the end for my troubles which goes with absolutely fucking nothing and 50% of torso clothes cover your legs anyway
It's so fucking aggressively lazy and bad.
The dumbass who made that shitty drawing of the frigid booty waifu is back.
I drew a funny, guise!
Well what I typically did was just run around the top, drop down into the water and run back up to the top. Somewhere along the line Gravecunt and Hebble Pebble give me enough time to kill Fedora Man. Repeat process for Gravecunt, leaving easily dealt with Hebble Pebble. The key is just keeping them running, also its a co-op area or designed that way and I like their music.
You dipshit, I've already fucking beaten them if you actually bothered to read my post.
If you honestly think that jacking up 3 NPC invaders (or might as well be NPC invaders) with health is a good bossfight then you're straight retarded my man.
You can get access to his awesome looking armor and boss soul from Amana, this has bothered me though. His shield looks great but its got the same or worse reductions than the Royal Kite and Drangleic Shield. Why would they do this?
Alright fuck the Ivory greatsword, I don't give a shit anymore. This entire fuckhole of an area, it's bullshit enemies a fucking Rat boss reskin, backtracking for fucking days and now a god damn ganksquad pre-boss.
Who fucking OK'd this shit? Honest to christ. Because 6 fucking Loyce knights with retarded poise, defenses, damage and range focusing only you while ignoring the 3 knights you have by your side sure is fucking fun.
Jesus fucking Christ I have never in all my years been rustled by a game this hard, literal fucking trash level, encounters and bosses. I'm done with this shit tier game, the fucking 'DLC fixed everything xD' meme is complete bullshit, this is as bad, if not worse than the main game.
I had 1 at the start, then went and got the other 3, but when I go to the boss there's only 3 that jump down with me.
They literally do nothing anyway, 0 fucking damage output and don't hold aggro for shit, the enemy knights just completely ignore them and bomb at me no matter what I'm doing. Fucking aids.
There are 3 NPC summoning signs near where you exit the coffin. Next to those weird stone things. Vengarl, an archer girl and a cleric who will keep healing all of you. Just gangrape those horses.
Still need help w/ Sunken King DLC on PS3
SM1.9m, Elana, God of Tears
You only "need" four, and the only difficulty is remembering not to bother with blocking and just sit behind him at all times. Otherwise his moveset is a glorified Drakekeeper/Old Knight Greatsword set and dodged even easier because he's got about half the speed while just doing a ton more damage
He's easy to dodge, doesn't stop the fight being incredibly frustrating given his health and the fact he will poise break you in one hit. People who say he isn't difficult clearly cheesed him by hugging his leg.
>"It's not fair to criticize a sequel for the same bad things that are present in the first"
I don't get this, surely one of the big advantages of a sequel is you get to learn from the previous installments mistakes.
Where should I go with this, /dsg/? Going Craftsman's Hammer and planning on RobFlynning.
What's the highest dps build you can think of in Ds2? Currently using a +10 RIT at 50 strength robflynn, slapping resins on it for bossfights. Anything that works better? It's getting pretty stale now at NG+4 tbqh. Sitting on about 280 SL
>people really think the elevator in Sen's Fortress is bullshit
do these people not have eyes? Do they not notice the massive pool of blood on the elevator and think "hmm you know something about this doesn't seem safe, I'm gonna minimize the time I have to be on this thing"
I can kin
d of understand the mimic if you're not used to the concept of mimics but even the mimic is placed oddly compared to every other chest in the game and has blood surrounding it as well, and the entire area up to this point has been a gauntlet of traps so the player is suspicious of a lot of things.
Is DaS1 online broken again? I'm at O&S and haven't seen a single sign or fog gate. I got 15 nodes too. Ever since I've come back it feels empty even though I see plenty of orange signs and bloodstains
honestly never heard of anyone complain about that area and they shouldn't
as a reminder to everyone: if you want to complain about fundamental aspects of the game like traps then souls games arent for you
>up for some oolacile township duels
>dragonhead host and summoned hanging about behind me
> maybe hes hosting duels
>NOPE, YOU IN GANK TOWNSHIP BITCH
>whitey tries to go for the backstab
>fast roll outta there, the drake gets me but i get back up
>back the fuck down
>they dont give chase, fuck it im pulling out the humanities
>lure them down close enough to get a couple of bloaties for blackup
>they both take the bait
>ru up, get two swings in both with da BASS CANNON
>whitey backrolls into a dead end by the stairs
>now for the dragonbabby
>backstabbed, but i can take it
>roll and poke here and there
>he tries to roll in for the backstab
>not gonna let that happen
>take dat humanity
>well, what is it?
>like i care, time to spam gesture
>ooh i can taste the salt
>both below 55 hours of gameplay
seriously, ganking in oolacile? the forest i can understand.
>implying indictments means "lol so salty"
This is the reason darkmoon is dead. I always indict whenever I have the opportunity just so they'll have more people to pvp.
good job defeating a gank duo tho
I wish there was a boss a-la Colossal Corruption
or whatever it was called in "Alice: Madness returns"in Souls Games, it was always enjoyable to fight these guys. Though they were actually mini-bosses as the game, well, had no actual bosses at ALL apart from the final one, still, every fight with them felt oddly awesome and intense.
>flaming rain attack
>tracking projectile heads creating dangerous explosions
>melee grab attack (pretty weak move though)
>can temporarily turn invincible
>you have to take out EACH head in order to weaken the boss, reminder they can turn invincible for a time period
>fuckhuge and can quickly cover the distance between you and itself, so you have to keep moving and running away
A shame they have disappointingly small healthpool for such an intimidating looking thing, even on Nightmare Difficulty.
What is the best straight sword in DaS1 and why it is the SKSS
Dragonrider Bow, Roaring Halberd for magic builds, Spotted Whips, Butcher Knife, Scythe of Want, Bow of Want, MLGS, pretty much all of the greatswords and ultragreatswords, Spider's Fang for PVP, Wrathful Axe.
Roaring is supposed to be good but I've never been a faggy Hexer
Iron King Hammer
Scared Chime Hammer
the thing is, as far as my recent pc experience in dark souls, ive face proper duelist in the forest and never got indited by them. yet everyone ive invaded that has indited had less than 100 hours in. when i was on xbl a year or two ago they handed it out like candy. i think the pc community thinks inditements is a punishment rather than a pvp tool.
and darkmoon is dead because people can just beat the boss to avoid being mooned or scrub away sin with a soul tithe.
Alright. I'm pretty much finished with DaSII, But I don't feel like going on NG+ yet.
Where can I have some great online fun?
Besides the fucking bridge, that is.
Pic related is my character.
>played DeS and DaS1 so much that i feel i've exhausted their worth
>DaS2 is an abominaton
>DaS3 not out for a few months
>don't want to play other games
will Dragon's Dogma fill the hole in my heart or should i just hibernate until April
