The use of monster's elemental sacs and organs, all the different insects like Flash and Thunder bugs, that general psuedo-science meshed with biology that they use to make the weapons, is all far more interesting and in-line with the series than actual magic.

Having some kind of large staff outfitted with tubes and boiling flasks while a Flame sac and Rath Ruby lie inside kept alive by Voltstones and embalming fluid unleash fireballs and poison gas from the phial-vent on the top would be the tits.

Let's get some moveset ideas for this mofo.
I think a gout of the inherit element would be a cool basic attack, something like a steady stream of fire if you hold x. Maybe have a charge meter that can build up into massive area of effect 'spells' like a fire tornado or whatever. Maybe make it a fairly short range weapon. Have a be a fireball sort of missile attack. Make it so you can combo into other moves?

Maybe have the 'spells' be recolored to the element? So you could have fire, water, electric effects.
