Obligatory grind chart
which is fucking useless and doesn't account for modules/upgrade costs[/spoilers]
I finally did it, edgelords. I grinded my way to an A-rated battleconda and yesterday I bought it. How can I still feel this empty? It's as if Robigo grinding is all I have fun with in ED.
>add fins to a regular >ASP
>look! a new ship!
>take a type-6 and give it some more bulky pieces of shit to make it even uglier
>ha, well done cmdr, you made a wise purchase! those pirates wont think to mess with you now ;)
The only saving grace for the Keelback is that the flavor text for it says that it can carry a fighter on it, so atleast if they ever release the update to allow big ships to carry small ships, you can use the Keelback as a budget taxi or hobo carrier.
Why the fuck does the Asp Scout even exist. As if the fucking Explorer wasn't a piece of shit enough as it is.
>have a-rated anaconda
>bored just trading
>decide to join hudson to try powerplay, i never really gave it much of a chance
>go to hudson space
>all i can do is pick up shit from the HQ and take it to other systems
>for only 10 merits because i can only take 10 at a time
>nothing else to do but haul this shit across over and over
>keep getting interdicked by random faggot agents from other factions when im in the middle of hudson space where the FUCK is his security?
>all i can fucking do in powerplay is basically more monotonous and soul-crushing trading to expand my blob a little more or so we don't lose whatever arbitrary unit of currency is used to measure power
>immediately stop, unpledge, go back to comfy trading with my space playlist
I don't understand how people deal with PowerPlay. I really, really don't understand how people can devote their entire game time to working powerplay and grinding merits for the piss poor rewards. Even from a fucking RP perspective, you get no feedback from what you're doing other than your blob will MAYBE expand or stay the same next week.
If you want to do powerplay even remotely serious you need to sign up for reddit, join dad groups, join their RP groups after enough harassment, do soul-crushing trade routes timed perfectly to the merit regen, stare at spreadsheets, spend 10 hours MINIMUM on the game, and generally just sell your soul to braben.
But at that point, maybe, just maybe you'll have contributed 10-20% to conquering a system and you can feel a little bit better about yourself, maybe.
>>all i can do is pick up shit from the HQ and take it to other systems
Tried undermining yet? It's not great but at least there's usually combat involved. Looks like Hudson is undermining a bunch of ALD systems right now.
The thing that grinds my gears most about Dads is that a lot of them simply play the game "for the pretty sights." As you are looking at the stars themselves instead of procedurally generated background and heightmaps.
Because I made 10billion in assets joining a group for faction pvp like undermining and ambush crime sweeps. I seriously don't know why /edg/ has such a hard on for Robigo when it was needed to shit after sothis. You can make 40mil in an hour doing bounty hunting or 20mil with buddies and mixing in pvp while you bounty hunt.
>The thing that grinds my gears most about Dads is that a lot of them simply play the game "for the pretty sights."
I have trouble putting my disgust for the forums into words.
100% of the time, if anyone offers even the slightest criticism, the thread gets flooded with "not for me" and "you need to make your own adventure"
I agree. The sole reason I joined the ED facebook group is to downplay the dads there. I like ED, but I sure as hell don't praise it as the bestest game evahhh!!11. God fucking damnit.
I get called shit on facebook, but I don't care. I am the black knight lol.
Okay niggers, now that I got my A-rated fat dragon, how do I arm it? Currently I run 3 class3/G pulse, one C4 Plasma and the rest turreted multicannons. but I'm not sure on what loadout is better.
>1x fat ass plasma blaster
>3x large pulse lasers, gimballed for extra easy mode
>2x medium pulse lasers + 2x small pulse lasers, all turreted to compliment my casual attitude
Just got the Viper MkIV for my bounty hunting obsession. Now bounty hunting isn't satisfying my upgrade greed. What do? I'm not good enough to move up to high risk RES, so I've been going after high value targets in the lows. Killed two pythons in the same dogfight in a Sidewinder with burst laser and a cannon, both gimballed.
I thought you said you had all A grade, you should have plenty of power for the weapons.
Your plasma and large lasers will crush hopes and dreams, you don't really need much else tbqh, the turrets will mainly be used for the cheeky cunts trying to fly around you.
Yes, you are right. The reason my conda was over capacity was due to the burst lasers. I might try this loadout.
How's this for an Eagle loadout?
After flying a vette for so long, I want to
die fastbe nimble again and pew pew.
Just did it now.
>buy new sidewinder for 27k
>go crazy shooting shit in the station after I get scanned
>die in a blaze of glory
>pay 7k in fines + insurance
>get into my old ship
>sell sidewinder for 42k
Somehow made a profit?
>Have two accounts
>First account get scanned while carrying hold full of imperial slaves
>Switch the ship, turn massive fine into bounty
>Have second account kill the first and get paid
Sounds like a plan.
I did exactly that.
The only thing I can think of is that I was in China Man Land, bought the sidewinder at a discount, then when I was selling it, it forgot to count the discount?
All these pirate/white anaconda tutorials are replacing the default skin, but they are like 6 months old.
You're telling me FD restricted the slightest bit of modability behind some shitty black friday pre order shit?
>Anyone going to try this with a large ship with big rebuy costs
this is literally considered to be an exploit
read some dev post about how they did rollbacks on anyone who actually bought a ship at the discount price and then selling it
but yeah, I was wanted and let a friend kill me while I sat in a sidewinder without upgrade. selling the sidewinder after respawn brought me 42k credits, buying it was only 30k.
>Your relationship with the minor faction will determine who within that organisation you will deal with, so the better your relationship with them, the higher level character you will deal with. So maintaining a decent reputation with that minor faction is a wise policy!
So unless I kiss the ass of every minor faction, am I going to be getting FAT PAYDAYS of 200cr?
Boy I can't fucking wait for the bulletin board to be even more broken than it already is.
I have hope that they will drop some LSD or something and have a moment of enlightenment and realize that they need to drop the PilotsFed rank requirements and that each minor faction needs to have their own individual set of 4-10 missions so that you have quite a bit to choose from, depending on what is going on in the system. But of course this is Ftroop we're talking about so they'll probably keep everything the way it is, just add some pretty randomly generated faces to go with the bugged missions.
I just ran into anime Duval Elite white knight in FDL. My hulltank FAS brought his hull down to 66% but then Valhalla called me.
It was so close...
Anybody try those Distress Signals?
I jumped in and there was a DBE screaming for help while a 7 eagle wing warped in and started shooting at him. As soon as I blasted one they all focused my ass. Pretty hectic.
Shit part though as soon as I blasted the eagles, another squad of 7 vipers/cobras warped in, just barely killed them when I saw 7 condas warp in after I just fucking high waked the fuck out of that.
if you defeat 12 waves he might give you 100cr, or just run off without giving you anything
in more peaceful systems there might be a ship without fuel and if you give it some they might give you money, or might not
it's a VISION trap
So I ran into that white knight again.
>FDL in Eravate hunting noobs
>Umm this a ARRPEE mmk? Totally justified ;^^^)
>Bullshit. That's like SIRA minus agenda plus excuses
Supposed to be an element of surprise. I have no idea what I was thinking back then.
As I get back to the station I see this.
>Fearing that brigand will spread the word to town of Le Ditt, Sir Anime tried to conclude the scandal with friendly handshake.
>The brigand did not answer.
>Sir Anime panicked- What if this brigand do spread the word? That FDL railboat got away from FAS with missiles out of everything?
How many fighters can the big ships carry? I imagine if Braben actually implemented it properly, a wing of people on a corvette or Cutter could all chill on the bridge before launching from the main ship.
>i want craft
It will be in 2.1 update
>i want exploration rewards
You just don't know how explore. I made almost 200mil on exploring. ANd it was only one expedition.
Just check galnet
>I WANT NPC FOR STATIONS AND SHIPS
Why? What do you want to do with them?
>I WANT BIG INSTANCES
But you have no friends
>I want more stations types

>i want fleet instead of wings
But you fly alone, why do you want it?
>wanted player sidewinder
>sure why not
>hes going in to Cleve, follow him in right on his ass
>going to zap him before we enter the no fire zone
>instance is empty
>suddenly instance fills up
>hes still not there
great game you have here brabo
Took the new Conda for a run in a High Res tonight.
Python's and FDL's are ez mode, they don't even get a hit in.
Not sure about the Plasma Acc tho, feels a bit too unreliable and then when it maybe looks like i've potentially got a good shot I've already spent power shooting with the pulse lasers.
imo the pacc is much better for PVP when youre fighting against other condas or corvettes. take down their shields and sucker punch them with the pacc a few times and theyll go crying back to kawaii blue hair cunt
You shouoldn't talk about the princess like that she didn't do nothin to you and she's trying to help the average person in the Empire, not like that fucking catlady twisted titty torval
leave aisling out of this you bully, those are fed and indie ships
I don't give two credit about mediocre anime cardboard but 'her' followers are just painful to watch.
you can say whatever you want. i personally hate ganking newbies. gankers basically destroyed eve and made it the shitpile it is today, and elite basically has the same thing
but i aislingfags make me cry. so many times ive seen you faggots shitting up local in cleve and interdicting newbies in eravate repeatedly to force them either into solo or to join the anime club
i dont give a fuck about ganking anymore because this game is beyond saving but aislingfags are too autistic to be allowed to live
Been testing out random ships for the hell of it. With the limited amount of ships this game has, FD need to seriously flesh out the advantages and drawbacks of each one. For example, the ASPE felt clearly better than the DBE whereas instead they should feel like ships with different capabilities. Not something that is outright better.
>Why do you think that exploration should be so profitable as smuggling?
It has to do with incentivization. In game design, you have to figure out how to properly motivate a player into participating in, or accomplishing a task you set in front of them, they way you usually do this is by offering either ingame rewards or fun. The problem with exploration is that the incentives don't make it worthwhile versus other tasks in the game on a reward/time spent basis. Exploration is a huge time investment, but the reward you get for that investment is paltry compared to other tasks available in game, especially considering that those tasks take considerably less time. That's not to say that Exploration should make as much as other professions, given it's relative safety, but it's rewards should be much higher than for the investment it takes.
TL;DR: Exploration isn't worth the time, and if you explore, you're basically shooting yourself in the foot.
“One of the things we want to do … is to ensure that no one role is a massive generator of cash.”
“What I don’t want ... is to be forced to forever asteroid mine or whatever it is.” - Dev Diary 3, 2:30
tl;dr of game design rant
Exploration is low risk ergo low reward
Smuggling is high risk high reward
Except that's an oversimplification. We're not dealing with just risk and reward, there's also time investment, there's a reason why the viability of a task in ED is often measured in Cr/H. The problem with Exploration is that it's low risk/low reward/ high time investment, similar to mining, while you have things like trading, which is low risk/high reward/low time investment. ED's amount of risk is also entirely fucked up which exacerbates the problem, Smuggling is only high risk because the game arbitrarily send goon squad of magic authority vessels out to hunt you, which is easily countered by just killing you're game process or pointing your ass toward the sun, Smuggling is also only high reward if you're doing something like the Robigo Run, which obviously wasn't intended by the devs, so as intended, smuggling is intended high risk but actually low risk/ low reward/ low time investment, which sounds pretty fucked up to me.
I disagree with you a lot but I'm going to try to not write a novella as a response. Forgib if I do, fampai.
>Exploration is that it's low risk/low reward/ high time investment
Yes, because in a given second your chances of being fucked up are very low. So of course it takes a long time to get paid reasonably. You're not doing anything illegal, you're far from players and NPC spawns, etc.
> low risk/high reward/low time investment
Yes, it takes less time because in a given second your odds of being fucked up are a lot higher. You're fighting players or NPCs for loot, or illegally salvaging, and it only takes a couple seconds for a fed to scan you or a player to bump you outside the station and the whole run was for nothing.
I agree about the Robigo run but I disagree that smuggling is low risk/low reward, I think it's pretty high risk wherever you choose to do it and the reward is reasonable because it doesn't take much to git gud at hitting the mail slot quickly and coldly. Why do you think it's currently low/low?
Holy shit I have never been confused for a dad and I am quite offended. I put urban camo on my Cobra and skulls and I fly around all day near the starting systems and fuck up other players in decidedly less agile ships. I am by no means defending exploration. It sucks cock. I think we totally misunderstood each other anon.
>Yes, because in a given second your chances of being fucked up are very low. So of course it takes a long time to get paid reasonably. You're not doing anything illegal, you're far from players and NPC spawns, etc.
My point was is that the amount of reward you get for the amount time you invest isn't proportional. If you're going to have a low risk task in a game that takes a long time, you need to make sure that the rewards you give for that task are proportional to the amount of time it takes. Exploration is worth fuck all right now as pointing out by mister "I made 200 million in a week exploring" where he could have just done the similarly low risk task of trading and made the same amount in a quarter of the time.
> low risk/high reward/low time investment
This was referring to trading. Smuggling right now is obviously not how the devs intend it to work, though the way they want it to work is actually much worse, and honestly I think the rewards you get for regular smuggling are basically garbage considering the risk unless you're doing bulk illegal trading.
I see what you're saying now and I think you're right.
At least post the corrected one.
I don't have the credits for one, which is why I asked how long it will take me to get the credits for a DBE.
Now I ask again, what is a Robigo Run? I assume I need some stupid ranking to do it too?
Here's how it's done. You go to Robigo (Or Fehu if you're Empire) and run one mission. Now you'll have enough to A fit a Cobra if you use the Oriental discount. Now go back and load up on missions. Complete then without spazzing out and you'll have enough to A fit your DBS.
Keep doing this. By the end of the day, you'll have an A grade long jump Asp to make the runs easier plus two of whatever your favorite mid tier ships are
> blue haired slut is a bigger threat to the galaxy than that nigger pirate.
No it's not. No ship in this game has a damage model. The ships do have damage visuals though, in that the ship will look different once it's damaged enough, but this has no gameplay bearing, only visual.
Space Engineers has a damage model; when a missile hits or a ship rams another ship a big, gaping hole gets torn. You can't target the pylon on an Imperial Clipper and blow the nacelle off in that manner.
Hey newbie in the Eagle
Ignore the robigo stuff for now.
Find a system with ringed planets, go there and look for "Resource Extraction Sites" or RES, go into any one of them that doesn't say "Hazardous"
Follow the local space police around while they fly around shooting at wanted NPCs and get the last few hits off on the wanted NPC before it explodes and you'll collect the full bounty.
Once you work up enough money from that then you can buy something to haul slaves from Robigo once you're comfortable with quitting to system menu or force killing the game process to avoid the bullshit NPC spawns to stop you from smuggling slaves.
sadly, yes considering that every faction is the exact same. the only difference is that anime club class president girl has more members, so obviously she will be a bigger threat.
just use your imagination anon and imagine that those clippers flying around spouting reddit memes and MUH PRINCESS are actually hardened, iron-skinned pirates that are out to destroy the peaceful ecosystem of eravate.
Is there any reason I cannot accept this? I wouldn't mind getting a quick 400k after my 20 mil smuggling run.
>making eve better
hardcore 1337 g4m3rs only amirite?
Wait, I have a Cobra and I want a Diamondback. How do I do a Robigo run?
Also just FYI creating scarcity in the market is a good thing for people who have manufacturing skills, eg; myself and other gankers
No ships have damage models. The Anaconda has a damage MESH which means after the ship takes a certain amount of damage it will look different. This doesn't affect you as a player at all, and there is no way to damage one area aesthetically but not another, you get "hurt" the same no matter how or where you get hurt.
Now, now anon. There's no need to point out things like that, especially after all that Lord Braben has done for you. Maybe you just need a little imagination, and maybe a little Vision to guide that imagination in ways we consider acceptable.
Pick a direction.
Lock onto star xx,xxxLy away.
Start jumping for 3 days.
Turn around and start jumping back.
Make sure you're aligned with whichever faction gives bonus money for cartography data.
Trailbazer... 2M profit
dude, just fuck off seriously, Elite is 160 M , ranking is a log scale. you rank up fast in begining. seriously.
no tip. Dude made it in one week. had tips.
Do explorers usually scan most of the systems on their trip or is the trick to simply scan a few systems an absurd distance away? I'm not sure how data pricing scales. Planetary scanners are dumb, right?
Trailblazer with 87%, made 4m in one shortass trip, didn't even scan everything. How about you fuck off to Sag A* and start already? That's all there fucking is to it: go somewhere.
Data pricing doesn't scale. Surface scanners double the value but take a bit to scan. Advanced scanner scans the whole system, look at the system map and see if anything looks good. Scan what does with the detailed scanner.
>Data pricing doesn't scale
why would anybody do this ever
It's a hobby more than a means of income. You have to be autistic enough to like it in the first place for it to be worth it, the money's just a bonus.
Also to take screenshots.
>You have to be autistic enough to like it in the first place
>tfw the exploration autism got me, at least when i come back ill turn this ship in a A rated pirate conda.
>Please forgive for the male-centered title
Does anyone have their own playlist for space trucking?
>load up on narcotics
>100 police vipers every system (even anarchy???)
I guess robigo is pretty authentic after all
don't claim insurance, you lose your ship, but you come back at BEGIN station.
If you have a shipyard, buy a sidewinter, suicide, don't claim, free, start station.
then consider hauler taxi to sell your ship back there;
on a sidenote, you are retarded.
>don't claim insurance
you have autism. pic related.
The Anaconda does have damage states for the model itself but they stopped at that ship. Also the parts that blow off are predetermined at various hull%s and not related to where they get hit.
It's just a visual thing though, right? Like the chunks or armor that are missing aren't weak spots or anything, the bits that are exposed aren't more vulnerable right? Just purely visual.
I experienced that during the winter sale. Learning of missions and everything at the time and the first mission I see is one for 500k. Asked for some mineral that could only be gotten from the expansion. Fucking quality dev team right here.
Yea, purely visual. I'm pretty sure the only reason we even have a damage model is just so they can say that the game has it. Of course they leave out that it's only for one ship.
I'd love some reactive damage modeling. Like blowing off an Eagles wing with a pacc or having bullet holes from multicannons venting ship atmosphere. Maybe drilling a hole through a Cobra hull with beam lasers.
>make a spaceship/RPG game called "Elite"
>apparently spaceship and RPG is a terrible combo
>game sells a couple million copies
>a little later
>this comes up
oh I am laffin
Just killed my first Anaconda with the Viper Mk.III. Anyone else find a hardpoint combo that works well with their playstyle? I find that a burst laser with a multicannon on the mediums with the non-turret tracker and 2 cannons with manual aim works best for me.
Why doesn't this game have particle repeaters or something? MC costs ammo while lasers are hitscans.
>aimlessly wandering from station to station hoping to find easy missions
>get a direct message from someone
>invites me to a wing
>we fly around and he picks off some bounties for me
>turn in 50k worth of bounties in Matlehi
>tells me to buy an Eagle
>we do more bounties
>he says "goodbye friend" and jumps away never to be seen again
ty my friend
I remember seeing one of the early missile builds you guys came up with
>it cost 400.000 credit to fire these weapons for 12 seconds
shit was expensive but also did a ton of damage, it seemed like an ok balance to me
Fuck, i've been wanting to get these but I hate faction grinding.
Now that i've seen this video I want them even more even if they suck.
I gotta get my Feddie gunship first for MORE HARDPOINTS for MORE MISSILE
tfw want to get into EVE but don't have the time for it or the will to link up with a bunch of different corps
I can't even shitpost about this. I tried being a trader/industrialist since I really enjoy doing that, but I felt like I was always at a severe handicap because I work in a hospital and have to pull some ridiculous hours a lot of the time. Maybe I should give it another go sometime.
If you have the patience to let your skills sit for a long time, you can train up manufacturing skills and do that for your industrialist needs. It's basically
>stick them in a machine
>sell the thing that pops out
I used to do that a lot with a dude named Aerallo and he later became the single largest producer of supercapitals in the game. Nigga has got some serious autism.
I'm a logistics director and that takes its own special autism. People call me at 4AM and I have to log in and push a couple buttons to micromanage a team or whatever. Shit sucks, don't do it.
The only do slightly more damage than a regular class 1 missile, so of course its nothing special.
I still want to mount 9 of them and make some newbie sidewinder shit his pants
I DON'T NEED IT

Is there a way to increase the size of the stars on galaxy map (0 population ones)?
It is quite horrible to select only few type of stars in filters and struggle to see them as their 'radius' dot seems to be low.
Also, I noticed a "field of view" sphere on galaxy map, that no matter how much you zoom off, you won't be able to display the stars after that sphere. Is there a way to change that?
Also, can't colours be changed on filter map? it seems like a nightmare color choice for some filter selection.
Or, is there any 3rd party tools for a better galaxy map than what we have?
Why the fuck do the "dogfighter" ships in this game control like a pile of wet cake? I wanted to pilot a fast little ship that could do everything the launch trailer shows. But there is just straight up no ships like that in game.
I really want to like this game, i really do. But fuck the combat is boring as hell.
>I wanted to pilot a fast little ship that could do everything the launch trailer shows.
That's because the trailer lies. It lies blatantly. That is not how actual combat looks like in the game at all.
You were tricked.
Which is a damn shame. Even with the current HUD, ships, weapons and such they could have fast paced combat but instead all the ships feel sluggish. Why can't we have just one modern awesome space combat sim? Just one.
I'm a bit new to this game. When do you see other players? Most of the time while I'm out doing quests and such and landing in ports, I can' find another singe player. I seriously doubt they put players in different instances. Chances are that its just because the world is so big.
Either way, I'm just curious. Is there a way to see/interact with players more? I mean the first time a bandit tried to rob me, I didn't realize it was a NPC. I tried talking to it and talking my way out of being robbed...
>I seriously doubt they put players in different instances. Chances are that its just because the world is so big.
Also the game is not really built to be multiplayer.
It's both poor instancing and space being too fucking big.
ELITE originally only had about fifty colonized systems, I have no idea why they decided to go the way they did with the already shitballs instancing. I see like 1-2 people per hour around primetime unless I head to Sol or Robigo.
Yeah, the planet has to be in "explored" status to see its ports on the nav panel. But if you have it at least "unexplored" (pinged by a discovery scanner) you can locate it through the system map.
I think >>128737327
is right though cause there is an unexplored, do I need to pick up a scanner or can I just go to the planet and it'll pop up for me?
Yep, definitely a planetary port. I'm not sure at what range they pop up, though. Contrast space-borne ports, which broadcast their location throughout the whole system.
Would be interesting if you had to physically locate it on the planet's surface and drop out of orbital cruise on it before it shows up in nav/contacts.
Most ports are big enough that you can make them out from orbital cruise like 50KM up.
Yeah I just need to find the planet now, the one unexplored that was up is a star so i gotta get a scanner and ping around the system I guess.
I'll probably not even find it before I go to bed but at the very least I can sell the 52 things I got for some profit and I outfitted my hauler slightly better.
>just reached 2000Ly out for the first time
>flying fully armed and equipped space school bus with extra weight from A5 prismatic shields
I'm beginning to think I've made a mistake with my fantastic 15 Ly jump and 4 jump tank range. At least I'm running an A5 fuel scoop.
Where's the fun in the autism of exploration if you aren't doing it in style? Anaconda has better jump range and outfitting options for exploring anyway, but neither can match the class of this cockpit.
I just know an asp fitted for exploration is 20 times cheaper than an anaconda fitted for the same, and if you're flying an orca around doing stupid shit like this who knows how much money you have.
>Rambling on about ayyyyliums on the forums
>Bothers to fly to buttfuck nowhere to see said aliens
>Thinks ED is a deep game with an intricate galaxy
Yeah, most people who meet that criteria are dads.
If you cut off the wings and smear it with lube you could probably slip it up Aisling's arse without a hitch.
And then the high-class passengers dock your pay for the weird outside view.
What do you people listen to while slaying dadcobras?
Okay I'm a new player. Every time I play open, I get my ship with the vehicle, want to try a short delivery mission, but before I reach my destination I always get fucking shut down. Three times this has happened. Should it be this hard for new players to finish a fucking delivery quest? Should I just play solo till I get a decent ship?
>Should it be this hard for new players to finish a fucking delivery quest?
wait, let me check again if you are retarded
> I get my ship with the vehicle
>Interdict Phyton as FAS
>Decides to fight back
>Ram and spam C3 PA as he desperately use the SCB

>Spirits of Robigo, give me the power to perform the VISION interdiction
>Manually find the high wake destination
>Pop up right next to the relaxing Phyton
>He panics and accidentally dive into star gravity well, never to rise again
>the inmates are so brainwashed, they are holding polls that always go in favor of their dark overlords
>"would you like to join a player or npc crew?"
>majority vote for npc
>"would you like npc or player interaction?"
>majority vote for npc
>"would you like have clan/guild support for players?"
>majority HELL NO
Isnt the vote almost equally split between people who do and dont want player guilds/clans/factions?
Not that it matters since any meaningful player guild interaction would be shot in the foot since you have open/solo/group shared universes. It'll never happen other than begging devs to add your faction in so you can do endless BB missions for them for MUH RP
If you really want to piss off dads, organize in a group server or solo to flip the BGS against faction faggots like Adle's Armada in Eravate. You can easily do this by just killing authority ships and doing pirate missions
>wish I could make the 'Conda white though
It's laughable how shitty missiles are.they should do the second best hull damage per shot for their size class, behind torpedoes. I heard the were amazing in beta and actually warranted all the counter measure there are against them.
What this game needs for better combat:
>energy transfer beams (can recharge other vehicle's shields)
>Drone bays and drone controllers
>non shit ECM
>Superthrusters (why the hell not?)
feel free to add
But they were too good and the dads cried so loud they are nerfed to darkest stygian pit and will never get out.
Much like we will never get large and huge railguns or anything cool that does actual damage.
I just encountered a true cancer Cobra a.k.a most annoying build ever.
>Bi-weave with rail and MC
>As soon as shield goes down, boost away, come back for joust, boost away again
Jesus fuck I brought his hull down to 1% and he just boosts away. Wish I had taken FDL there instead of bulky FAS.
It needs less missiles but for them to be buffed, a ship to ship missile should do a lot of damage but have low capacity and cost a tonne as opposed to how it is now where 48 missiles does less damage than the equivalent amount of Multicannon bullets
>last night check Fed rep
>decide today will spec my Asp out and fly over to 17 Draconis to grind some rep
>half way there i'm on the reputation status page
>fed rep: 98%
Well that was a waste of half a trip. No idea how my rep all of a sudden boosted back up.
look for a system that is controlled by space trump (not exploited) and turn them in there on a station (I think it's in contacts->power contact)
look at the galactic powers overlay, click on space trump, there you see how many merits you need for a rank up
100 merits alone will bring you 20% more bounty
Are they merits or points taken from undermining? If they're merits you don't do anything with them, if they're undermine points take them to a space trump control system while playing on solo play as the anime princess weebs are aggressively hitting hudson aligned players in their control systems
>Wish I had taken FDL there instead of bulky FAS.
so what you are saying is
>wish I had taken a slower, less agile ship against the shittiest pvp ship in the game that constantly manages to outboost me
>Zero donation missions in cubeo
>All I want to do is get a clipper
>Have to autisticly grind missions now to get to rank 7
Fdev are the worse than EA, only because of the sheer amount of hate they have for their players having fun. This is worse than
Fuck dads wanted to give me cancer and i killed process.
one python, vulture and dbs lol. And then When I relogged there was anaconda and another python. Animafags were on fdl, fas, dropship and dbs. So they just docked and now are sitting on station.
Funny how I also had to deal with a phyton running away from me like : >>128760702
>Powerplay is released
>"Powers will rise and fall"
>ALD gets into a serious turmoil that the power will lose entire systems in next week
>FTroop duct-tape the issue and pretend nothing ever happened while dropping 25% sale on the game
>Later FTroop says ALD is the emperor now
>Implying rise and fall
Aisling had no claim to the throne though, just because a few weebs say she should be their anime queen doesn't mean she should magically get it.
Anyway letting major lore decisions be made by players makes everything shit, just look at Runescapes world events which even Jagex gave up on due to the playerbase making shite decisions.
>[–] Frontier Support 61 points 2 days ago*

>Instructions unclear, running out to get ammo for immanent thargoid invation
>I am playing the tutorial over and over again. She is getting suspicious already
Not really hard to fuck up something so simple.
But you may as well go for a 3A Power Plant - it's more powerful, lighter and will give you better heat resistance when you're close to the sun scooping.
>Spirits of Robigo, give me the power to perform the VISION interdiction
A true vision interdiction would start 5 milliseconds into entry from a system. Also it would be through a star.
>A shitton of misses can't even kill an adder.

>This is true ED is not a game but more tries to be a simulation experience, although a false one as space combat and travel is unlikely to be as dipicted in the future.
>But it is ED, it is not more of a game than walking down to your archery club and shooting arrows or fishing or hiking.
>space sim is the same kind of sim as a study sim
>implying ED isn't a study sim as well
The fact most people recommend getting flight sticks for it, has large amounts of downtime and requires manually landing every time should really tip you off.
ED is a sim.
Except its not, its described everywhere as a simulator, everythings actual scale, the 'arcade' flying mode is an afterthought.
Is this the bit where you try to redefine all these words so arcade space shooter means "Elite Dangerous" and Sim means "not elite dangerous", you'd find your life a lot easier if you stopped trying to play games of genres you don't like and then claiming its a genre you do like. I don't complain about how CoD is a shit tactical shooter.
>Except its not, its described everywhere as a simulator, everythings actual scale, the 'arcade' flying mode is an afterthought.
Hah, that still doesn't make it a sim. What does it simulate exactly?
>if I call him dad and say something he didn't say I win!
Its fun if you don't go in expecting CoD in space, play No Mans Sky or SC if you want a more fast paced space game.
The fact the dad meme exists is proof enough its a sim, older people prefer that kind of game.
I wonder what a space sim could possible be simulating or are you going to go down the autist route of "it can't be a sim as space travel doesn't exist!"
It has real scale everything, a sim flight model, sim gameplay of flying around repeating activities, its literally marketed as a sim and a sim playerbase but nah, its an arcade game. Were you dropped on your head as a child a lot?
>It has real scale everything
That's irrelevant for it being a sim. Even then more than 80% of ED galaxy is made out bullshit. The rest 20% is the m trying to repreesent real data and fail. Where's Phobos/Deimos? Where's Eris? Where's mass transfer? Where are the Roche lobes? Where are the gas/dust accretion rings?
>a sim flight model
That's incorrect. Even FAoff is arcadey. Try bostinging in straight line in FA off . You will lose speed.
>sim gameplay of flying around repeating activities
That's how every game could be explained. GTA 5 is a sim then. Battlefield is a sim then.
>its literally marketed as a sim and a sim playerbase
Nowhere it's marketed as a sim. You have any factual proofs of it's sim playerbase? I doubt that, Pecisk.
>I wonder what a space sim could possible be simulating
Try Orbiter and wonder no more.

it is a known BUG, name of system was when you took mission on bulletin board, oddly enough NOT fixed, although they fixed robigo WAYYYYY faster than this shit.... mmhhh, strange, isn't it??
Python sucks. I buy my vulture back. This piece of shit can't even fight dangerous anaconda ayy lmao. It's fucking disgusting how slow this junk is. But it also can't even tank anything bigger than eagle oh god this was the biggest waste of money i've ever made in this fucking game.
and i also died in space lol.

if you can't slow down, floor it instead
do you have a foam idol of braben's visionary gaze beside you right now?
Just stay in a vulture if all you do is combat, alternatively get a FDL instead of Python. Weaker hull, better shields, actually designed for combat and not the "multi-purpose" meme.
how do i get out of dadbra hell?
i don't really have an endgame here, just farming any RES i can find for a couple of hours for 'fun'
what ship should I be aiming at?
Explore: Diamondback Scout, also good for a bit of RES farming.
Trade: Asp Explorer
Robigo Smuggle: Asp Explorer or Hauler, bring fuel tanks for Hauler. Wont be able to carry as much as the Asp but its a good way to get your foot in the door with it without having to jump to 20 different stations.
Or long term if you like it. I upgraded from one to a FDL, but I went back to vulture. I miss the maneuverability of it whenever I fly something else. Also pythons are good if you don't want to zoom around. Just tank the hits and fire back.
You can only ever have 8 tonnes of it, if you have more than 8 it will never resupply as its a rare commodity, when you go to buy more after delivering it the stock is completely random. To get it to refill if you can only buy 4 or 5 despite not having any more just jump to supercruise and go back inside.
This is how missiles used to work:
Unsurprisingly, that led to people lying in wait around stations in disposable missileboat Eagles to unload their racks at passing players, pretty much guaranteeing a kill on anything smaller than an Anaconda because 18 rapid-fired dumbfires are unaffected by ECM and will overwhelm point defence.
All they had to do was give them a re-fire delay like every other weapon in the game, but ftroop isn't capable of doing anything sensible.
>doesn't feel like grinding
It's very easy anon
It's obvious you're not willing to pay up to support Frontier and just a fleeting pay and forget customer, therefore they don't feel the need to support you. Why support people that aren't going to return the favor anyways?
In a decent MMO you can easily git top tier shit within a hundred hours and still enjoy shit
>Git max level
>Git full raid gear in 2 weeks of casual play during fucking exam period
>Git semi-decent pvp gear in under similar time
This was still back in the glorious days
>Still not get bored after hundreds of hours
>Hadn't even touched RPing
You know what? Forget it. I'm gonna go register on Nostalrius.
I AM FINALLY FREE
